Hilltop Views From a Historic Tuscan Home

Be immersed in the peace and quiet of a Tuscan olive orchard by staying in this stone farmhouse which features traditional architectural elements such as terra cotta floors, vaulted ceilings, and original wood fixtures. Dive into the plunge pool with sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

Old farmhouse with a swimming pool, surrounded by vineyards and truffles

Let yourself be enveloped by the magic of an old 17th-century farmhouse with a private garden, hidden among the gentle hills of Monferrato with excellent privacy. Here, time slows down: relax by the pool with a glass of wine, enjoy Piedmontese cuisine made according to traditional recipes that taste of home, and wake up to fresh eggs from our hens. Surrounded by nature, but close to the Ligurian Sea and the cities of art (Genoa, Turin and Milan), this place is a haven of love and poetry.

Open Heart Apartment sea view

Take a moment of peace from this modern, hyper-fast and chaotic lifestyle. From the balcony, contemplate the sounds and iridescent colours of the sea and the hillside vineyards from dawn to dusk. Take a moment of peace and let your mind rest. From the bedroom, comfortably lying on the bed, you can see the sea, hear the sound and admire the entire panorama, because the bed is right next to the terrace. Fall asleep to the sound of the sea waves. It's a unique experience.
