Beach house holiday rentals in East Sussex

-the cottage is exactly like what is shown in the pictures. - it is first time for me to stay in this kind of cottage, its a bit historic and interesting -the different rooms are on different floors, so expect flights of stairs, it is also communicated, so fine with us. -the location is between two towns (st leonard and hasting old town), it is easy walk to Hasting old town -the place is lovely, I would recommend it

We stayed here for my friends hen do, it was in a great location and a great size for the 14 of us. It never felt too small for us, and there is plenty of mirrors, perfect for getting ready!

The house is stunning, the layout is perfect and was spotless. Level 1 kitchen/lounge/outdoor balcony. Level 2 bedrooms. Level 3 attic room with chairs, binoculars and great views (each level has great views!) We were a group of 4 although if 8, the size and layout would have allowed us to have our own space. The bedrooms, 2 with en-suites, a large family bathroom and all with sea views. Watching sunrise over the ocean and the dawn morning bird chorus transported me to tropical holiday vibes. The house overlooks gardens, bluebells and iris were in bloom. Down the house steps and after about 50 metres you are on the sea wall/beach. Jo and Andrew have been great hosts, great communication prior to our trip and provided a welcome pack of really useful local information, thank you for the snacks and wine. Relaxing on the balcony, watching the ocean and world go by was the perfect way to start the trip. If I ever return to Hastings, first stop would be to try and rebook this AirBNB

Mark was very responsive in replying to messages before and during our stay. The house is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout giving the house a light airy feeling. We had everything we needed in the kitchen which was very well equipped. The beds were very comfy and the two bathrooms with additional downstairs loo was very handy. Location is a short taxi ride from the train station and all of Brighton town centre is easily walkable from the house. We very much enjoyed our stay!

We had a lovely time at Karl's place, the location is great for quick access to the beach, and there's also lots of other good things to explore in the local area such as RSPB Dungeness, the Pilot Inn and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. For us, what was really great was the ample provision for babies/toddlers with abundant and interesting toys to play with, a high-chair, stair-gates, baby carrier, socket protectors etc. Which really made the whole experience of travelling with a 1.5-year old much easier. The garden is great too with lots to enjoy and a good amount of shade. And the nautical theme to the house really makes for a fun "holiday by-the-beach" feel.

Such a lovely place to have a weekend away with friends. Jane was brilliant and made our trip even better! So amazing to be right on the beach, lots of parking, massive garden, lots of kitchen equipment.

5 Stars – A Perfect Stay at Greg’s Place in Brighton! I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Greg’s place in Brighton. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The flat was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable — the perfect blend of charm and modern convenience. Greg clearly put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming environment, and it showed in every detail. The location was ideal — just a short walk to the beach, great local cafes, and the vibrant lanes of central Brighton. Whether I was out exploring or just relaxing at the flat, I felt completely at home. The bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the space was surprisingly quiet given its central location. Greg was a gracious and responsive host, offering helpful recommendations and making sure everything ran smoothly throughout my stay. I truly appreciated his hospitality. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again — highly recommended for anyone visiting Brighton!

We enjoyed our stay in Seaford, especially the sea view from the bright and spacious living area. It was a comfortable and homely base from which to explore the area. Thankyou Bijou.

Great communication with the owner. Had an excellent stay with my family for a couple of nights. Indoor pool was enjoyed by all. Ideal location with Brighton only 10 minutes away.

Our second visit. Really enjoyed our stay in your lovely home. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. A peaceful location and we feel at home. Especially enjoyed the welcome pack. Thank you Ross and we will be back next year.

Great accommodation! Clean and spacious. Everything has been thought about. Quick response to communication and very easy check in and check out.

When I booked I did not realise it was Pride weekend. Great vibe in Brighton, but was relieved to be slightly outside the hustle and bustle. The apartment worked well for us. We love to play tennis and utilised the public tennis court across the road. The busses into Brighton is frequent and 24 hours. A freshly baked vegan banana bread with butter and almond milk was waiting for us on Check in and a lovely red wine. Communicating with Susan was so easy - answered within minutes. Will stay here again.

The house is as described, large and airy, with doors onto a fabulous garden on several terraced levels. We particularly enjoyed using the basement cinema and the children loved the outside swimming pool. The dining room was great for family meals and boardgames. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and feel very special, and having the ensuite bathrooms is brilliant. Jason was very helpful and very responsive when we messaged him. We had a great week despite some very dodgy weather!

We had a great stay in this big, clean house situated in a very quiet and peaceful area, just a 6-minute drive from the nearest beach. Francesca was very friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely choose her house again for our next short break in the area.

Linsey was a great host, very friendly and welcoming, her house was very comfortable, with a fantastic view on the hills and the sea. Very peaceful, and very easy to park. Great location for us (the ferry to France was only 7mn away). We had sole use of the bedroom and bathroom, which were very clean, and the bed very comfortable. Linsey was very accommodating and kept the dogs upstairs (they were extremely quiet) and kindly let us use her freezer. We would definitely come back, and wholeheartedly recommend her house to anyone.

Lovely place. Nice decor. Not too far from centre. We managed to find free parking overnight about 5 min walk down the road. The host was v quick to respond to any queries. She also messaged to check if everything was ok and if we needed anything, which was really nice of her. Would highly recommend this place

John & Tracey were so lovely, helpful and communicated efficiently. The accomodation was in a great location, a fantastic view of the beach with a 5 minute walk to the local grocery shop. The house was very clean and well-equipped, the kitchen was full of utensils, there were lots of games to play and bookshelves where visitors can do a book swap (how cute!). The house looked even more beautiful in person, I would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you John & Tracey for being great host’s :)

We had a wonderful stay, everything was perfect! The only downside was parking and the narrow street is generally jammed packed so had to park a few streets away. Aside from that we had a wonderful time (and very grateful for coffee machine). We were in Hastings for my mother’s funeral and this lovely home provided a safe and comforting environment to come home to. Thank you for a fantastic stay 💕

This Airbnb is a dream. Just across the road from the dune with a short climb to the top revealing the most incredible beach. Definitely pack a windbreaker! It’s windy but great fun for a walk or sandcastle building with little ones. The Airbnb itself is on a quiet strip with other beach houses. The terrace faces onto a garden which gives both privacy but also somewhere for kids to explore if you’ve got half an hour to kill. The house is clean, has everything you’d need for several days, and large, comfortable bedrooms. Hilary is super helpful and accommodating where she can be. Couldn’t recommend highly enough as a base to explore the beach / Rye / surrounding area, especially with young children. Will be booking again!

Jon's place is a stunning town house covering 6 levels, with the higher floors giving a fantastic Sea & Old Town view. Parking is available but very tight, however this is to be expected given the location within the old town. It is only a few minutes walk from the array of shop's, cafe's, bars and restaurants. Jon & Ben was both very helpful and responsive to all messages & queries (we tried to keep them minimal). Thanks for a lovely stay, highly recommended.

The apartment is absolutely pristine whilst being homely and welcoming. The neighbourhood is quiet and the beach is less than a 5 minute walk away. We really enjoyed our stay, many thanks to Tony for all the help and support throughout he booking process.

Andrea’s place in Brighton was absolutely outstanding—by far the cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in! Every corner of the apartment was spotless, fresh, and clearly well cared for. It made the whole experience feel extra comfortable and relaxing. Beyond the incredible cleanliness, the space was beautifully set up, fully equipped, and in a great location—close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Andrea was also a wonderful host—warm, responsive, and thoughtful throughout my stay. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Brighton!

We only had a two night stay but we had a lovely time. We took our dog who loved the open plan layout. Being beach front we took the opportunity to use our paddle boards, the outdoor warm shower was much appreciated! Will definitely book again especially if we have a sunny spell. Small shop just a 5-10 min walk from house and very short drive to little local village with all shops and eateries and pubs. Host was quick to respond . We felt relaxed and at home. It was lovely to sit and look out the patio doors to the sea all whilst sitting on a comfy sofa, Happy days!!!
