Cottage holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

Lovely place and just as it was described. Cooked steak and shrimp on the grill one night and everything worked fantastic. Very close to town-ate out at the Altana Rooftop Lounge on Friday night and it was a very nice location downtown. The bed was firm and one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in (on the road) in years. The deck and hot tub facing the creek was perfect Overall a wonderful trip we look forward to coming back Thanks for being a great host!!

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage is very clean and organized. It was perfect for my husband and I. We had our two tiny dogs as well and they enjoyed the yard and the peaceful surroundings. The bed was super comfy which is so important to me. I slept great! We enjoyed the hot tub each night of our stay (4 nights.) 3 minutes down the road is one of the most beautiful lakes and parks I have ever been to. It's huge with lots of woodsy hiking trails and expansive meadows. It's awesome that Cayla provides paddleboards to get out on the gorgeous lake. Last, I really appreciate the thorough instructions for how to use the appliances (heating/cooling, coffee maker, hot tub, etc.) No guesswork here. I greatly appreciated the chalkboard and book of suggestions of things to do in the area as well. There is another cottage behind the front cottage with a big field separating the two and the driveway is shared. This was no problem for us. It still felt private and peaceful.

This was the perfect place for us to stay for our 29th anniversary! I was looking for something private so that just the two of us could spend some much needed alone together! I think it was actually more beautiful in person than I thought it would be. The pool was huge! The hot was enjoyable! The firepit was perfect! The fishing was plentiful! The hiking trails were extensive! Lots to do in the several surrounding towns if you wanted. The price is a little expensive but I’ve found that for any airbnb and understand the upkeep it must take for all the amenities alone! It will always be a cherished moment for us and can’t say enough good about it and would do it again!

Chrissy’s place was an absolute dream! We wanted to get away from the city and so glad we chose Chrissy’s cottage. It was peaceful and only 3 minute walk to the beach. The beach was empty and we had it all to ourselves. We had such a lovely time just sitting around the firepit, making smores and watching our fur baby play in the backyard. The cottage itself was very clean and spacious! It was fully stocked and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Highly highly recommend! We’re already talking about returning there and we just got back from the trip!

As always, a stay at Lori's never disappoints. It was spotless, beautiful, relaxing and calm. I just can't say enough nice things about the host. Even helped me surprise my wife with nice extras for pur anniversary.

We all felt like we won the lottery with Ken and rachel’s place! There was such attention to detail, such kindness in the communication, and we will definitely be back. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely stunning, beautiful and exactly as described. The coach house was beautifully decorated and spotless. We used the hot tub and it was very refreshing after our hike. We highly recommend Kieran & Tara’s place to anyone.

The place was amazing....it rained for us, but we enjoyed it just the same! Back yard was so nice. We used the hot tub in the rain and it was great..loved the view out the living room windows as well as the windows themselves! Would return with pleasure!

Our stay at Carlos’s cabin was incredible. It was the perfect setting to disconnect and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We loved being out back, enjoying the beautiful property and view. Had a lot of fun exploring South Thomaston and the surrounding areas. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Maine! Thank you!

The Rose's property is incredible, you will not be disappointed! We loved waking up and having coffee on the deck over looking the cliffs and water and really enjoyed the trails on the property that led to other beautiful overlooks. We would have been happy spending our entire week at the house, and mostly did! The bed and linens were very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need, and the home is full of the most interesting curated art, books and objects. Rich and Julie provided so much helpful information about restaurants, day-trips and other outings. Everything we did during our time in Maine was based on their recommendation, which lightened our trip planning efforts significantly. We highly recommend a stay at the Prowhouse!

Great views over the water. House was in great shape-very clean and organized. Kitchen is huge and works well. Host communicated well and checked in to make sure things were ok. Only marked it down on value because we were just 2 people. For families etc would be outstanding value-3 full baths! Quiet location and 15 min walk to the harbor.

What an absolutely beautiful space! Once we arrived, we didn’t want to leave. The house was super clean and well laid out. This is a perfect spot to unwind or recharge. Bring all your food and drink and just enjoy the beautiful views. We saw lots of wildlife, including herons, bald eagles, osprey, little lizards, deer, turtle, and some jumping fishies. We checked out Fossil Beach at Westmoreland State Park. Lots of walking trails and a lot of eagles. We enjoyed some bbq from Fishers at the Barn. The rest of the time we lounged on one of the decks or the dock and just took in the sights and sounds. Thanks for sharing the beautiful space!! We hope to visit again this fall! 10/10.

We had an amazing time. It was very relaxing and beautiful. Our pup enjoyed the beach and walking in the woods he even found a turtle friend.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend trip at Tony’s lakeside cabin to celebrate our anniversary. The setting was idyllic, and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of the lake! Tony was a friendly and helpful host, and the whole weekend went very smoothly, from check in to check out. We would definitely come back!

My husband and I stayed at Kevin’s place for a couple days in early June for a quick city getaway. Kevin was super responsive from the beginning all the way to check out and was a pleasure to communicate with! He is a fascinating well-travelled host with lots of cool souvenirs around the cabin from his travels and sports accomplishments. His place was very relaxing and was exactly what we were looking for with its lake front access and cosy interior. We travel for work and are constantly staying in nice hotels, and we had the most amazing sleeps in the memory foam bed with sheepskin duvet and agreed it was better than any hotel sleep we had recently. So peaceful! We canoed to a Mexican restaurant across the river for lunch which was a fun mini adventure and very delicious! When we checked out we got to meet Bodie, Kevins Golden Retriever that is in the listing photos. Was an awesome experience! We look forward to returning sometime back to Kevin’s Cabin!

Smugglers Cove was amazing! So cozy and perfect for a getaway. Angela was gracious and hospitable and left lots of brochures for things to do in the area. It was easy to find and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. It was very clean and in a lovely quiet area. We'll definitely recommend and will be back!

This is the kind of place you almost don't leave a review for because you don't want anyone else to stay there and take your space. It was peaceful. The stream sounds are awesome. It feels so homey and lived in. I loved my stay.

My mom and I visited recently and can’t say enough good things about our stay at Frog Hollow Cottage. The property is breathtaking, and the accommodations were beautifully designed, cozy and comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed and then some. The hosts were thoughtful, responsive, and gracious —upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome from Addison (and Ben the cat) and even some fresh eggs from the farm. Although we both enjoyed exploring all the Brandywine area has to offer, our favorite part of our trip was the evenings spent relaxing on the cottage patio and admiring the scenery. Addison & Rob, thank you so much for sharing your little slice of heaven with us, and we hope to be back soon!

Our family had a wonderful time at Christine’s place. The cottage was sparkling clean, beautiful and so peaceful (just what this mom needed!). There’s plenty to do in town (restaurants, ice cream shops, parks, etc). The whole family enjoyed having breakfast “with” the swans. They showed up every morning and it was the highlight of our vacation. So cool! Christine replied to messages quickly, she was always very helpful, respectful l, and so kind. We had a wonderful time at the cottage and will definitely be going back! Thank you so much, Christine!

How can I even describe this place. I have been to over 35 countries and countless Airbnbs and this was easily in my top 5 best Airbnbs ever. The setting is absolutely fairy tale like. Stunningly picturesque and serene. Absolutely delicious maple syrup from their neighbors farm awaited as a welcome gift. 236 acres of land with trails (bring some good walking shoes and long pants). Relaxing in the tub was a highlight too. I was going to come with my boyfriend but he got sick and I was hesitant to come alone but needed some relaxation badly. Let’s just say I didn’t miss him at all and was extremely glad I came. Perfect for a couple or solo. Thanks Stephanie!

Julia was accommodating and responsive. The Little House on North Mary Street is absolutely adorable. It worked out perfectly for our three night stay. We explored downtown Lancaster on foot and found great spots for coffee, food and ice cream. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. We drove to the surrounding communities to enjoy the views, and were able to see the Amish people working in the fields and traveling around their communities. Many markets and farm stands to visit. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend the Honey Bee Cottage to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Champaign - Urbana. The hosts were very kind and welcoming from the start. The place was beautiful, tranquil, and very clean. It made my time in the area all the more enjoyable and memorable. If you're looking for a comforting place to stay, this is it!

We had such a wonderful time staying at Rowan Cottage! It was my husband and I with our little Boston Terrier and everything was perfect! The place was spotless when we got there and the instructions to check in were very easy to navigate. The place felt brand new. It was just the right amount of space for us. It is a fairly private area and the waters were very peaceful, not a lot of traffic on the water at all! The views from the cottage were amazing - perfect for the morning coffee! Appliances were great, and the washroom was so clean. There were awesome board games and vinyl records to jam to. As well as a Bluetooth speaker to connect. We were never bored! For anyone looking to visit, there are a fair bit of mosquitos so remember bug spray! Overall an amazing experience and highly recommend!
