Beautiful space. We really appreciated the large open area and hammocks to relax and listen to the sounds of the forest, as well as swimming in the river. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, and the shared bathrooms were very clean

Very nice accomodation, good and friendly restaurant and very interesting to see the ecological cacao plantation process, which is an example in its kind. Worth visiting!

This was my second stay at Johanna’s Living Forest, and I made a special trip to return because I loved it so much the first time. This time, I brought my adult son, and we were both enchanted by the beauty and serenity of this magical place. The space truly lives up to its name — we were surrounded by lush, vibrant jungle, with a beautiful stream running through the property (and a perfect little swimming spot!). We saw incredible wildlife, including colorful birds and even toucans. A highlight of our stay was the morning class led by Johanna — a beautiful blend of chi gong and yoga that left us feeling grounded and refreshed. Johanna’s warmth and wisdom shine through in everything she does, creating an atmosphere that is both peaceful and inspiring. I can’t wait to return again and would recommend Living Forest to anyone looking for a deeply restorative and nature-filled retreat.

We had a super fun time here. We did the cocoa making experience when we arrived (we got there a bit after 2 and did the experience at 4). We really enjoyed the tour of the farm in the morning. Once you’re there, you likely won’t leave bc the road getting in and out is bit tricky, very loose gravel & steep. Make sure you have a car that can handle that.

This place is an absolute gem! The views of the lake Arenal are fantastic and the house has a charm that the pictures don't do it justice. You have see it in person to appreciate the place. Patrick and his wife were excellent hosts, very helpful with anything we needed. The house is minutes to Nuevo Arenal, lake Arenal and lake Cote, one hour and a half from La Fortuna in one direction and from Tenorio Volcan with Rio Celeste in another direction. e Excellent location to have for a base and visit a large area. Thank you for hosting us and we will be back!

beautiful setting. lots of nature around the place. the food at the restaurant within the hotel was really good and the people were really friendly. there are a few nature trails on site. lots of birds to see. The place was quiet and quite clean and the pool was beautiful. great restaurant/bar on site while we were there, we hired a local guide to take us through the Rincon National Park. it was really great and quite affordable as well We would highly recommend this guide. Awesome place! Absolutely gorgeous property with tons of flora - so beautiful to walk through. There are howler monkeys that live in the forest behind that are super cool. Definitely something to go for if you’re looking for off the beaten path. Airbnb gives the wrong location instead go to the Santa Maria Volcano Lodge. Cabin itself was pretty simple but all I needed, the restaurant on the property was super good and had great wifi. Everyone was super friendly

It felt like your own peaceful corner of the world. Stunning views. Casita Bali was lovely, clean, and inviting. This is a more off the beaten path type place and perfect for that exact reason. Great host and communication. Hope to return.

We had a wonderful time staying here. It was really cosy and a beautiful setting. Yamileth had added some really lovely touches which were really noticeable like blankets on the decking outside to sit and enjoy the stars in the evening. We had a car so we enjoyed being out of the hussle and bustle and being able to the drive to the santa elena and Monteverde. Although we didn’t meet, it didn’t matter as she was very responsive and I know that if we’d needed to book something or some advice she’d have been really helpful. A lovely place to stay!

Beautiful clamping experience. Easy to get to as it was right off the main road but did require driving up a steep illuminated dirt road. So quiet and pleasant. Really nice tent and beautiful outdoor seating area. The Airbnb had a separate outdoor shower and kitchen (induction stove) which were both very nice. We saw multiple rainbows throughout our stay. We also did the owl night tour which was right across the street from the Airbnb and saw a lot of fun creatures! Easy to get to montverde national park.

We booked this place at the last minute and are very happy we got to enjoy a peaceful stay on this family farm. The accommodations were a great value and we appreciated the hospitality of the hosts who cooked us a delicious breakfast and let us keep things in their refrigerator during our stay. Adriana communicated well in English while her mother mostly spoke Spanish, but in all our interactions they showed kindness as we figured things out. The a/c kept us cool and comfortable, however the water in the shower didn't get hot. Overall it was a very good experience for the cost and proximity to Liberia.

Great place, awesome for kids with pool and to explore around. Beach is 5 min by car and place is very clean and comfortable.

Pleasantly surprised by this little green setting right next to Nosara. The beach is just a few minutes away and the pool is very refreshing The place is quiet and nice and only accessible 4x4

This bed and breakfast is in an amazingly beautiful location. Although we had rainy and cold weather, we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the area, and it’s quite close to Selvatura Park. The value for the room is incredible - we could only imagine the views if the weather had been good for us (see reviews about the view when the weather is clear). Lastly, ask for extra blankets if the weather is rainy/cold, as the rooms aren’t heated. As the reviews state, the banana pancakes and coffee are amazing. Beautiful place!!!

We loved our very short stay at this lodge! We did not stay for breakfast unfortunately, we had an early morning in the forest. We awoke to the sounds of birds chirping and mot mots right outside our front door! It was clean, Ruth and her staff were communicative, and the bed was cozy. We took a hike around the coffee farm and loved that, too! There was a lovely place to sit overlooking the plantation and there were birdfeeders for us to watch jays and hummingbirds, too.

We had a fantastic stay at Finca Amidstad. The onsite cacao workshop was incredible. The fresh juice for breakfast was delicious. Julian and the staff were very friendly and we’ll absolutely stay here again in the future. Thanks for everything!!

Great experience. Secluded location. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Lovely amenities. The bird watching was spectacular. Food was delicious. Very educational. A beautiful beginning to our trip to Costa Rica. Would highly recommend it.
