Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Guanacaste Province

We had a lovely time at Joost’s place. There was plenty of room for 5 of us. It was the perfect location - so close to the beach and in the midst of town. The views from the balconies were absolutely incredible. The pictures do not do this condo justice! It was absolutely stunning. We came to tamarindo mostly for surfing, and we were not disappointed! Bring some noise-cancelling headphones if you go to bed early like we do! Our only gripe with the location is the noise due to surrounding clubs (obviously not the fault of our hosts). Angelica was super responsive and flexible with last minute changes. Overall it was a great experience!

Nice sunset view from the balcony, clean, comfortable and well supplied for meal prep. I love an induction stove, so the 2 burner induction hotplate was a nice surprise. We were 2 couples in 2 units and the covered outdoor patio was a nice meeting spot. Daytime could get pretty warm but with the screened windows we could get lovely air circulation. Beds were comfy and bedding clean and fresh. We liked that it was outside the bustle of Monteverdes town and still within a reasonable drive of all the surrounding activities. Would suggest a binder of local activities be provided. They security gate was easy to operate and gave us that extra peace of mind for our cars at night. Friendly, responsive host. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here! Definitely need a rental car to get into town. Vanessa was an exceptional host, very flexible and helpful and responsive. Pool is amazing and the views perfect with amazing sunsets. Highly recommend!

Great location. It is off the main road so it is quiet. Also, right by the soccer field, we believe the best soda is located there. We ate there a couple of times. The studio itself is great. You don't get the entire lot as it is shared with other people but they were all very quiet and respectful. We have to top studio and we love it. The front porch was a great place to hangout in the morning for breakfast or just chilling anytime. Adrian and Evyn were great hosts and would definitely rent from them again. Playa Carrillo is the our favourite beach and wish we stayed longer.

Cato was a great host! Responded very quickly, and was very accommodating to our needs..requests. Check-in instructions were super detailed and helpful.

Lucas’ place was perfect for what we needed! It allowed us to cook some small meals and relax in the air conditioning after a day out in the sun. Lucas was so responsive and gave us so many tips and suggestions of what do and what to see. His surf shop was so welcoming and gave us the perfect boards for our days out on the surf. Would recommend Lucas’ to anyone going to Tamarindo.

Yesenia, her family and her dog Manchez, were extremely friendly and respectful. They were there if we had questions and also respected our privacy. Great location with a beautiful sunset and walking distance to downtown. Perfect spot to come home to after a day of hiking in the cloud forest. Also very safe. We were there for 3 nights and left our luggage in the car.

Casa Pacifico was a great place to stay in Nosara. We loved checking out the town and restaurants and surfing was excellent. Joshua and his colleagues were very helpful connecting us with shuttles, surf instructors and other recommendations.

Jorge’s Villa Los Encinos is a great place to stay, offering a peaceful location near Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja and Liberia, away from crowds. It’s a great alternative to expensive mountain hotels, with a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by nature. Jorge, the host, is very hospitable and quick to address any issues, such as fixing a broken shower hose or light bulb. The villa has some minor shortcomings, such as missing blackout curtains and a lack of a dedicated workroom, but for the price, it’s a great value. The pool area is shared, not private as listed, and there may be construction noise nearby, though Jorge handled it promptly. Noise from animals, like barking dogs and roosters, is typical in Costa Rica. The kitchen lacks a table and chairs, but this can be worked around. Some cleanliness issues and outdated photos in the listing should be noted. Overall, the villa offers a wonderful, tranquil experience with a welcoming host.

The Garden House looks exactly like the photos. The garden itself is spectacular and really added to the experience. Eva is a thoughtful and responsive host and helped us with all of our needs. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking our meals. We did not use the laundry machine but did dry clothes on the line. We decided to stay in this unique location and visit the attractions with a rental car instead of taking shuttles and taxis. The convenience outweighed the risks from driving on unfamiliar roads (especially challenging at night).

Our hosts were very welcoming and Michael took the time to explain to us the history of the home and the surrounding town. He gave us good tips about where to eat and enjoy a beach walk and sunset. Walking home after dark, we met one friendly person after another, and while the area may seem a bit rough, we did not feel unsafe. Our room without A/C was cooled pleasantly with a good cross breeze and fan. We enjoyed sitting out on the verandah in the evening as well. Michael fed us a delicious breakfast before our day tour to Isla Tortuga- a great experience as well. Thank you!!!

One of our best Airbnb experiences ever! Andrea and Forest were super welcoming and always helpful/accessible for our group’s needs and had tons of outstanding recommendations as we enjoyed Playa Negra over New Years. The house itself is beautiful - love the layout, the pool was pristine, and the position steps from the beach could not be beat. Everything you could imagine needing was at our fingertips and if not, Andrea was happy to help us track it down! There are a number of grocery/restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, and Playa Negra Hotel is just a short walk down the beach. Rooms were comfortable with lots of beds, clean linens, and great A/C! Kitchen was also super well appointed with lots of cooking and serving wares, and all the basics to include snacks to get us going and a water cooler that helped ensure we were well hydrated! We especially enjoyed the collection of games that we sampled during our visit. Thanks to Andrea and Forest for the hospitality!

This place is next level!!! Nice 2 bedroom house with a perfect size kitchen and living room. Ebikes for rent were perfect for getting around town. Cant wait to come back!

I had a wonderful day at this Airbnb. It was beautiful. The landscaping was amazing. The house were great to communicate and made several recommendations which we use. I would stay here again - here on a girls trip-definitely hoping to come back with my family next time.

The Blue House is a very special place. My favorite thing was sitting on the bench that overlooks the blue river. While listening to the rushing river I even saw green and black poison dart frogs which was cool, I was actually fortunate enough to see quite a variety of wildlife on and nearby to the property. The property has a long skinny driveway and the house is located all the way at the back of the property, so it feels very private and secluded. But at the same time it feels safe because there a few other houses on the quiet street. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

This Condo was really great value. The pictures are accurate and the patio and its view are legit. Ilya was super responsive, kind, and helpful. Ilya makes sure the condo has all the amenities you would hope for (kitchen stuff, salt/pepper, beach towels/chairs, cooler, repellent, etc.). The condo is in a gated community manned 24/7, but you really don't need that in Coco, but it provides some peace of mind. It is semi walk-able. It is about 1/2 km to some nice restaurant/coffee shops and 1 km to the main road in town. You have to want to walk it as there is elevation getting back to the condo. So good exercise, or just a 3-5 min car ride to town. I had no issues parking but it was low season. Overall, this is a really great value and as advertised. It would work well for a single, a couple, or a couple with small children, but he 2nd room and shared shower could get small for more people than that.

Las Catalinas is beautiful, convenient and relaxing I love the freedom to be able to choose, If u in relax mode and be away of the crowds just stay there enjoying beach club- pool and Danta beach and you have everything conveniently or if you are in adventure mode just drive 15 to 20 minutes to Flamingo to do all activities and visiting surroundings I and my family loved and highly recommended

everything is fine, only 2 details the parking affair a little long of the house and the water gets into the corridor and in the living room outside, everything was soaked as the water passed through everything. otherwise everything is fine

A great place to stay and exactly as the photos depict. Roman was an excellent host, quick to respond when necessary. We enjoyed the cozy terrace and being close to many beaches in the area. Would recommend this Airbnb to everyone.

Waking up to such a beautiful view of the lake was definitely the highlight of this place. I really enjoyed our stay. Cindy and the staff were very friendly and honestly have nothing negative to say about this place. Cindy was an amazing host making sure that we were pleased with our stay. We enjoyed our stay! The apartment is a few minutes walk from the beach and the excellent restaurant Caprichos! The apartment is very clean . The pool as well as the landscaping are all beautiful!

Perfect place to stay for our family of 4 including our 2 and a 4 year old children. #7 felt more private than the other units as no-one is on either side of you and the large porch area is delightful to hang out on. Peaceful environment and the pool was lots of fun. Unit was clean and the A/C units work well. Host is very responsive. Our family always felt safe. We would definitely look to stay here again in the future!

Ilya was super friendly and helpful. He met us at the gate for check-in and showed us around the unit and property. Everything was clean and easy to access. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance and a couple min drive into downtown you can find a ton more. The beach is also within walking distance. It’s a calm beach with black sand. Not a lot around there but we had fun with our kids. This place is peaceful and relaxing and has great views of the ocean. Would recommend!
