Mansion holiday rentals in Guanacaste Province

My family and I just finished staying at Casa Serena for the last month & a half and I have to say it was a life changing experience. We reconnected with nature and most importantly with ourselves. We stayed here for a month and a half so we got to really feel everything that the house and surrounding area had to offer. The area of Potrero is very safe and we felt very safe despite the seclusion of the property. The views are UNBEATABLE and the amazing breeze you get being up on that mountain is very refreshing, especially since Guanacaste is usually very warm. We have endless beautiful memories in the infinity pool. The kitchen is very well equipped to cook any type of meal. We ate at the home basically every day. The concierge team is of the highest quality with immediate responsiveness to any of our hiccups. (Note we “lived” there for nearly 50 days, so our needs were more demanding than most and the concierge team was STILL able to deliver!) Thank you Casa Serena team!

The place is very close to the beach. Just need to drive down the hill. Security is 24 hours and it is gated. The swimming pool and the view are the best things about this listing. With young kids, having a pool was great since there was no downtime between the beach and dinner time. They could splash in the pool while we prepped dinner. You could spend the entire day in the house cause the view is amazing and sunset was the highlight of the evening from the home. There is a laundry machine and dryer in an adjacent building next to the front door. The showering areas were very nice with the rainfall showerheads. Each room had a tv hooked up to WiFi. The maintenance crew was timely. We had two minor issues during our stay. The front door electronic deadbolt malfunctioned and the WiFi went down. However the maintenance team got on it within the hour and fixed both very quickly.

This is a great place even if you never left the property it's such an enjoyable place to be we have watched the monkeys eat mangoes from the trees the rain in the evening and enjoyed the pool during the day the beach is a 3 minute drive and the home is absolutely amazing wouldn't change a thing.

What an amazing-upscale property. The pictures don’t do it justice. Our family of 4 stayed here and couldn't have been happier with the property, service, etc. One note, would highly recommend having a car rental to get around as its a private community tucked away on the side of a mountain with amazing views. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Remarkable, immaculately designed and kept luxury villa. A little bit off the beaten path. Nearest airport being Liberia (LIR), 2 hrs away and you’ll need a 4x4 to get there. Having said that, this place is absolutely a hidden gem you won’t want to leave in a hurry. Note: it is a remarkably large property and we could easily have fit another family of 5 (alongside us) and not seen each other for days. Hosts were always responsive and communicative and made our stay memorable and easy.

Kattya was AMAZING!! She helped us plan excursions, promptly answered every question (we had a lot!), suggested restaurants, and found us an extra golfcart for our large group. Norma is the caretaker of the property and you can pay her extra to cook meals. DO IT!!! We had Norma cook us breakfast every morning. She shopped, prepared the meal, and cleaned. We had fresh fruit with every breakfast & the coffee was perfection. Norma cooked one dinner for us, but we should've had her cook every dinner. We had grilled chicken and Mahi Mahi, rice, beans, mango salsa, and pico. We ate dinners out but nothing compared to Norma (cost & taste. We wanted to experience local restaurants but should've eaten with Norma & gone out after for drinks. Mauricio was hired to drive us and he is a HOOT! Local and knows everyone! Beds are comfortable. AC works great! There is street noise but once you're behind the gate on the property, it is like your own paradise. Iguanas are everywhere! So cool!

Casa Howler was gorgeous and spotless —exactly as pictured. The pool was really nice, and we even saw howler monkeys in three trees on the property on our last day. The beach is a short walk away. Salty also helped us arrange a turtle tour, which was amazing. We were able to see baby turtles go to sea. Playa Potrero was a nice, quiet town, which was great for us. You can easily walk along the beach to the restaurants or it’s a short drive. I would choose this Airbnb again! I was a little surprised that the property has a security guard overnight. He was quiet and respectful. The property is also surrounded by a fence, some with razor wire, as it is close to the main road. I think this is typical for upscale homes in Guanacaste but was different than what we experienced in other areas.

Amazing location with sounds of howler monkeys and waves crashing on the beach. Super communicative and helpful host. Beach at the house had some intense rip tides so not really safe for swimming, but nice for walking at low tide. Playa Avellanas was much better for hanging and swimming, but was a trek with no car. Would HIGHLY recommend having your own transportation: we did not, and arranging transport was a HUGE pain between having to go through Airbnb every time we wanted a driver to enter the gates for pick up/drop off, and renting expensive golf carts that died quickly a weren't allowed to go as far as Tamarindo. Note: this house is a solid 25-30 min drive from Tamarindo, especially if the roads are rough (like they were from rain when we arrived). It was great to have access to the Hacienda Pinilla beach club - their pool was a little cooler than the pool at the house (though none of them are very cold). Would go back and stay again but have a better plan for transportation!

Wow!!!! Great stay at AirBnb in Octocal Beach. We visited Costa Rica for our daughter’s nuptials and indeed our stay at this AirBnb was an unforgettable experience. It was an upscale home away from home. The service was excellent! The atmosphere soothing yet vibrant, calm, and relaxing. The rooms were clean, spacious with stunning views. The amenities were top notch and every needed for a home away from home was readily available in the home. This was one of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed at! I was traveling with my elderly parents and two kids (1 yr and 3yr) . The house was adorable, great art , comfortable sitting areas, the kitchen was well stocked, everyone had plenty of space. My parents stayed upstairs so could escape to quiet from kids! There were toys, books, cribs, high chairs, even floaties for the pool! When traveling with kids this is a huge plus to not have to pack these items! Very quiet neighborhood and really enjoyed hanging on the back deck! We walked to beach and restaurants with both kids and my parents no problem! Plenty of towels , and beach chairs! Very clean and Sebastian was super responsive and accommodating, we can’t wait to come back ! I would give 10 stars !! 🌟🌟🌟

As a scuba diver this is THE place. Beachfront, accesible price, ideal for large groups as there are lots of beds. Walkable to restaurants nearby. Good internet, AC, web equipped kitchen. Juan Carlos was responsive at all times and made us feel like home. Extra points: there’s a beautiful brown dog watching the property

The house is very beautiful, the location is excellent.

Perfect accommodation to enjoy with family or a group of friends, each room with its own bathroom, with a well-equipped kitchen and all the comforts you need to relax. It was a great find and I will definitely be back!

Out family couldnt say enough great things about the host and the home. They went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Our 7 member adult family had plenty to do, great recommendations from the host. Extra accommodations when asked. House was beautiful and clean. We engaged them throughout the trip and we felt like VIPs on the complex. I highly recommend this host and property. We are looking forward to a return trip in the near future!!

okay for starters the house is in a private location which is beautiful the walk is about 10-15 minutes to and from Tamarindo back to the villa . the walk was safe so you can walk alone.there's food spots but not much please be aware of bugs so bring excessive amount of Cintronella - and bug spray because the bugs in the Villa are insane other than that everything was exceptional. oh and if you're planning to land in San Jose just be prepared for the four and a half hour trip to the B&B so plan to land in Liberia airport

The accommodation was just as you can see in the photos. It was very clean and beautiful. They have had a great taste with the decoration and the surroundings are very natural and quiet. I will definitely be back.

We had an amazing time. We have stayed at a number of rentals throughout CR but Carey’s place was definitely one of the best! The house was very well equipped, secure, and clean. We did not feel like we were giving up any modern amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed for a few quick meals, the outside was beautiful, and the pool was perfect for afternoon cool offs. Once you get your bearings the house is close enough to everything yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Katia was very responsive with anything we needed and provided great restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family stay was excellent, the house is spacious, modern and very well decorated, with everything you need in the kitchen to prepare all kinds of food, a large pool and spaces in the backyard that overlooks the sea to rest or share with your loved ones; right in front of the sea so from almost all areas of the house you can easily see it. We loved it and hope to return very soon. 100% recommended

The house was exactly as described in the photos. Very spacious and clean. Nice and quiet neighborhood. Beds were all very comfortable per all guests in my party. The outside space with pool was a great place to relax, BBQ and hang out with family & friends. Our host, Christian, was very responsive and helpful throughout our vacation and helped to arrange all excursions we requested on our behalf which really took a lot off our plate in planning. 10/10 would stay again!

Booked Casa Lulu for our family vacation. It was perfect. Everyone had their own space, and there were also accommodations for our one year old. We loved having the privacy of our own place but also close to everything. The pool and backyard were great. Just beware of bugs and pack your bug spray (normal for Costa Rica).

A beautiful place with incredible views and surroundings. The sunsets in the evening were spectacular. We were very lucky to have a very loud family of howler monkeys on the property that we saw in the trees a few days of our stay. The house was clean and comfortable and each bedroom had air-conditioning which is definitely needed. We stayed at the house during the Olympics and on day 4 the tv stopped working completely. Mariam was amazing and brought us another tv within hours. The location is isolated from the main town Nosara and the track up the mountain is very bumpy and not paved at all; you definitely need a 4x4. There were thunder-storms every day early evening which were amazing to watch. The concierge service was first class. Miriam organised a chef to celebrate our friends 50th (the food was incredible) and gave us lots of recommendations for excursions. Would highly recommend.

The house is beautiful!! Very comfortable and super well equipped. Very private, no neighbors nearby. The house has luxury finishes, there were 8 people and we were very comfortable. The pool and ranchito with grill a 100, you can see beautiful sunsets. Being so private, there is nothing close to it. Only two mini super as 8 mins. But I would definitely come back!

Beautiful and recent big house. The pool is superb and super well maintained. You have a nice and large kitchen and a great fridge. The rooms are very beautiful especially the "bridal" room. We'll be happy to go back! Thank you very much to Amelia for her kind responsiveness!
