It is a private house that is limited to one group per day, so you can relax and enjoy your private space. It is also close to the center of Nagano, and it is recommended for long-term stays. Since it is located about 15 minutes by car from Koshinetsu Expressway Nagano Interchange, it has excellent access by car. This is a pet-friendly facility, so please take a walk or sunbathe on the grass with you during your stay! There is a barbecue equipment rental service that you are welcome to use.When you book, you need to book from within the check-in link. Try turning on the 30 light bulbs on the wood deck!There is a switch next to the cupboard on the wood deck. * We also operate a unique inn called "Witch's Holiday Club" on the same property.When you come with more than 6 people, you can enjoy a different atmosphere at the same time, including the next building, so you can taste the charm of both Balinese and medieval European.

It is a calm space with an old house motif. The living room has a large sunken kotatsu style Irori fireplace where you can enjoy meals and drinks. There is also a 4-seat counter bar. Nozawa Onsen Ski Area, Shiga Kogen, Madarao Kogen Ski Area, and Tohachi Onsen Ski Area are all nearby, making it the perfect base for winter sports. In the green season, there are eight golf courses within an hour, including the Madarao Country Club, and many day-use hot spring facilities. The owner lives on the right side of the entrance and can be contacted at any time, and understands everyday conversational English. In the green season, you can harvest fresh vegetables from our own farm at any time, and enjoy a barbecue in the garden. The garden is also spacious, so you can also enjoy a short walk. Iiyama's specialty is the famous green asparagus, which can be enjoyed from May to July, and there is also a roadside station nearby where you can enjoy fresh vegetables and delicious buckwheat.

Built in the late Edo period, when the Shogunate was reigning, this house was used as a silk mill in the 19th century. One of the nearby hot springs is Kusatsu which is one of the most famous in Japan, where the Shogun came to rest, and became a model for the ghibli film “Spirited Away”.

We purchased this little place in 2019 to transform it into a self contained chalet. We have preserved much of the original feel, but hope that you find the renovations have made the house convenient and comfortable for your stay.
