Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Schmalkalden-Meiningen

We had a nice, albeit very wet, Pentecost weekend in Rachel's house. We were two families (6 people, 2 children (3 years)). We particularly liked how child-friendly and well-equipped the house was. There are plenty of toys and the trampoline in the garden was a hit. The surroundings are beautifully idyllic. However, we were a little surprised by the high number of ticks, but no one can do anything about that. However, you should prepare yourself before a holiday in the area (vaccination, spray) and check daily, especially with the kids. The house was very cozy and could be heated wonderfully warm with the fireplace in the unfortunately very bad weather. The walk to the house, which is a little elevated, was a little impractical. If you arrive with a little more luggage and shopping, you have to walk the way several times, but it worked. Overall, we were satisfied and felt very comfortable.

The place in the bear hole was simply fantastic! Quietly located with a beautiful view – just the place to relax and unwind. The apartment is furnished with a lot of love for detail, so you feel completely comfortable from the first moment. Everything was clean and well equipped. You can tell right away that there's passion in this place. Full referral – we'd love to come back!

A beautiful place to relax & discover. Upon arrival, we were greeted on the terrace by a curious, trusting fire salamander. The holiday home is very cozy with a lot of attention to detail and you immediately feel comfortable - everything you need is there. A big thank you to Katharina for the warm hospitality. We were satisfied with everything, recovered well and the fenced property for our dog was very nice. In the description, it was only missing that the stairs were very inconvenient for dogs...but not bad, we slept downstairs. The cottage is very modern, for us already much too good😅 maybe you could get new cutlery and the chairs are too low for the table, or the table too high for the chairs. But this is not a criticism, it is just information or a recommendation. Best wishes and thank you for the wonderful days in Thuringia.

I was at the Rennsteiglauf weekend in the beautiful accommodation of Monika and felt very comfortable there. I was kindly welcomed by Monika and briefly guided through the apartment. This is tastefully furnished, as can also be seen in the photos. The perfectly equipped kitchen and the walk-in closet were particularly inspiring, as was the beautiful bathroom with its great shower. Unfortunately, there was no time to use the sauna. We'll make up for it next time. In any case, I will be happy to come back.

Uschi is a wonderful hostess, warm, helpful and with real joy in what she does. You can immediately feel that she loves being a host and is incredibly good with people, we felt really comfortable from the first moment. The rustic accommodation is furnished with great attention to detail. All around a fun stay!

I spent 4 relaxing days with my boyfriend and my parents. We were able to enjoy the place in the different weather conditions. On the sunny days, we enjoyed the lovingly landscaped garden with grilled food and babbling brooks, and on the rainy days, we went to the city centre, which is within walking distance. Our stay was simply great, we felt right at home. The apartment really offers everything you have at home. The bed is a dream😌. Everything is very clean, bright, spacious, even a generous freezer is available. Lots of nature directly within walking distance but also many possibilities to do something by car (Erfurt/Weimar/Coburg) 😊 but even after 1 week stay - the time was far too short. The contact with Nicole and her family was also very nice, you felt welcome right away🤗. We really lacked nothing, definitely worth a visit - be it for hiking, for city trips or simply to relax again. We felt very comfortable, the apartment has a great charm and everything was available.

We had a nice weekend in the apartment, you can sit very nicely on the quiet terrace, overall it is very quiet. You also have a beautiful view outside from the bed in the attic, which you can reach via a staircase. The kitchen on the ground floor is very well equipped. There is an EDEKA in the village, there are restaurants nearby, but call to be sure. Overall, a very good starting point for tours in the Thuringian Forest. We would like to come back again =)

We had an all-round successful stay with Nicole and Helga! The apartment was very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped - ideal for our three-day hiking holiday in the Thuringian Forest. Nicole and Helga are exceptionally warm and accommodating hosts. Upon arrival, we felt immediately welcome. Even during our stay, they were at our side with valuable tips about the area. After extensive hikes in the beautiful nature of the Thuringian Forest, we were able to end the day in the evening relaxing on the balcony – simply wonderful! Everything is available for your stay. Well-equipped kitchen. Cool freezer, oven and hob. Handy table between kitchen and living room. TV with Netflix, etc. Internet is fine for laptop work. Internet good throughout the apartment. Bedroom and bed thick in order. Easy car parking for the house. Shops nearby. What to do? Within 1 hour's drive Weimar, Erfurt (Saturday market), Gotha and Arnstad, Saalfeld, Coburg. Stopping on the way back and resting in the nature forests, hills and fields. Thuringia has turned out to be a positive surprise, certainly worth repeating.

We had a really nice weekend in the Thuringian Forest! The apartment is quiet, was sparkling clean and really lovingly furnished – just right to switch off and feel good. Silke was really nice and had many good tips for us, which made the stay even more relaxing. We felt really well taken care of and would come back anytime. Absolute recommendation!

The stay with Julia and Oliver was very relaxing. We have proactively received all the information. Communication was very fast and friendly. Julia personally welcomed us, showed us everything and gave us great restaurant tips. The accommodation was sparkling clean and equipped with everything you need. In addition, a pretty terrace invited you to relax. I can only recommend the place.

We regularly use this accommodation because it is generously sized for three people, has a small breakfast garden, is close to the centre and offers everything we need. We'd also like to come back in 2026.
