  • Second time staying. Really liked it and Elena thought of everything

  • We always have fun staying at the yurt, it was our third time. Even when it's cold and windy the wood burner keeps the yurt nice and cosy. There's everything you need to enjoy a very easy camping adventure. Plus Lewes is charming with lots of antique shops and cafes. We'll definitely be back.

  • Have just spent 2 lovely nights at Elena's yurt. I highly reccomend it. It was decorated really nicely, the facilities were good and log burner kept us nice a toasty inside even while storm Dennis raged outside. Elena was really great to make sure we had all we needed and when we ran out of firewood we were able to pick up some more from the hotel down the road. When we had a problem with the shower Elena also arranged for us to use the ones in the nearby hotel. Thank you!

  • Great host. Great accommodation just as described. It's a real experience staying in a Yurt. I stayed I February, the outside temperature was about 9°c, it felt a little chilly and damp in the Yurt but that is to be expected Winter. The Yurt itself and facilities are great. The host is fantastic. Overall highly recommended. I bet this would make an amazing holiday break in Summer. In winter it is good but make sure to wrap up warm! Also bring a few bright torches as it can be dark.

    Richard2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was beautiful in a gorgeous setting. We were there in January but it was cosy and warm with the log burner. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

  • Great location!! Hotel staff are amazingly helpful and their food is top drawer!!

    Garry2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a VERY last minute stay in the yurt at the beginning of January. Elena was quick to respond and very accommodating of our short notice plans. The yurt is magical but if staying in winter bring layers and socks! Would highly recommend for an off grid experience.

    Millie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great NYE in Elena's yurt! We had everything we needed!

A former gamekeeper's cottage on the Sheffield Park Estate (now National Trust Gardens). A charming bolthole boasting a Clearview wood burner stove to keep you cosy in the winter, 18th Century print wallpaper, newly fitted kitchen and bathroom, TV and Wifi. Please look at our new venture on Airbnb Wagon in the Woods as well.
We converted the lodge over a number of years - carefully choosing the wallpaper (which is from America, using a print of the 18th century). It really lends itself to a cold winters - please bring your own wood & kindling etc for the fire
We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just over an hour from London (Haywards Heath train station) - and 1/2 hour to Brighton. There are two fantastic pubs in the village of Fletching - which is a 35 minute walk. The Griffin Inn and The Rose and Crown. The South Downs National park is a 15 minute drive - and the historical town of Lewes is 25 minutes. Sheffield Park Gardens neighbours our land and The Bluebell Railway is also in easy walking distance. Forest Row offers a cycle hire facility www.forestrowhire.org - where there are cycle paths.
  • What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend in! It is so beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable, and the wood stove is such a great bonus! We loved our stay there and would definitely go again!

  • What a lovely, cosy little cottage! It is in a beautiful location. Sally was very helpful and on hand if we needed her, she gave us advice on where to eat in the area. Sheffield park is just round the corner, we hadn't been before, it was amazing. We ate at a couple of local pubs, the food and service was very good. We hope to go back soon.

  • Lovely little lodge. Fireplace was very cosy and easy to use. Nice location. WiFi was brill. Kitchen was good, nice little dining area. Lovely, friendly dog on site, the family seem lovely too. All in all, would recommend this place to those looking for a quiet escape.

    Kelly-Marie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to explore all that’s on offer in the area! Such a warm and cosy place to stay that this was our third trip here and I’m sure we’ll be back!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a weekend escape to the cottage. It is situated next to their family home (about 10m apart) and surrounded by woodland. Sally was accommodating of our late check in and very swift to respond to messages. The cottage is cosy, and having a bath and fire is an extra special treat. As previously noted, the toilet can be a squeeze if you are broad of shoulders. It is in a great location to explore East Sussex (if you have a car). We went to Sheffield Park and Garden which was a lovely place to walk about. The Griffin Inn was a cosy pub close by - on the more expensive side but the food was amazing and great views from their beer garden. Lewes is a 25 min drive away and we spent time exploring the castle and Barbican House Museum.

A small house in the garden which now houses a bedroom with double bed and a very small en suite shower and lavatory. There is good internet connection and a TV. Outside area for sitting out. On the edge of the Ashdown Forest and near to Glyndebourne. Lots of walks nearby as well as National Trust properties and the Bluebell Railway. There is an electric car charge point and use of a pool which will be shared with the owners. Our pool is only available during the summer months.
Separate building which is independent from the main house so giving privacy.
We are down a peaceful track shared with two other houses. There is open farmland beyond our house and a footpath which can take you to the pretty village of Fletching and a great pub.
  • A lovely place to stay I would definitely recommend it.

  • This is a small but well-fitted detached private guest suite in a lovely quiet location. The host is extremely friendly, helpful and we really enjoyed chatting over a coffee in the morning. Communications before and during the state were excellent.

  • Such a lovely place to stay... cosy, comfortable and so homely! Kate was so welcoming, and cooked us delicious warm pain au chocolate for breakfast! It was exactly what we were looking for ... 100% would stay again!!

  • Quiet, lovely bedroom and bathroom unit tucked away from the main road, surrounded by farmland. The rooms were sparkling clean, and an electric kettle was available with coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and the space was warm. It really was picturesque. Our host was promptly responsive to any question we had leading up to the booking. She was helpful, charming, and warm throughout our stay, whenever we encountered her. This was easily one of our favorite AirBnB's and hosts we've ever had, and we'd happily stay here again!

    Justin2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and cozy place perfect for our needs. Kate provides special touches such as provided daily milk for hot beverages for us along with water. Her hospitality was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

The annex comprises a comfortable bedroom with double bed, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. We can also provide a single bed if required. There is a cosy sitting room with a TV and a wood burning stove. The beamed ceiling is quite low and any guest over 6 feet tall may have to duck! • WOW! This place was absolutely beautiful, we didn't want to leave! Lovely location, it was so quiet and peaceful. Karen is a great host, both with her welcome to check we were settled, and with the wonderfully thoughtful touches and amenities she provides. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with everything you could possibly need, even down to the provision of tampons/pads. Very comfy bed too, which meant we were well rested. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

  • Fab location. A beautiful little hideaway near Ashdown forest. Karen provided useful information for the area, and we were surprised to find some breakfast supplies and other little touches. The log fire was a big hit for us!

    Gwen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely, cosy accommodation. The thoughtful touches were above and beyond any place I've stayed in before. Everything was spotless and it's in a great location for exploring the area. Dot the rescue pooch is super cute too.

    Michelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s annex was beautifully decorated and very cosy! Karen has left us some breakfast and lots of little thoughtful touches - things for the dog and the breakfast treats and Prosecco were very much appreciated!! There were some lovely walks for the surrounding area that Karen had provided instructions on that we wish we could have done if only the weather had been kinder. Would love to come back in the summer sometime. Thank you again!

Our home is just under 200 years. It can be a dusty house, if anyone is expecting a modern home this is not it. We are not a hotel but enjoy meeting people of all cultures. We respect your privacy. The bedroom does have personal items in it such as children’s stuffed toys. As we close down for summer due to visits from family. We like people to feel at home when they stay.
We have pets three cats one dog. Two runner ducks and three chickens You will have use of kitchen if you wish. This is a family home. We like our guests to feel at home. Please note we are not a hotel.
We live on a private road which we own. But there are another 8 old houses on this Road. Which by the way is unadopted. Everyone looks out for each other. My husband has lived in this house for over 40 years. It is old and dusty. But everyone that visits loves our home. It appears to have a calming affect on visitors.
  • As described on the box. But with something super extra warm welcoming caring and generous. The fabulous hosts. Great conversation full of charm. Well worth a visit to Annelly's.

  • If you stay with Annelly and Paul you will get good conversation, a good breakfast, good care taken of you and superb value for money. Ian and Sarah

  • We found Annely and Paul to be a wonderful and eccentric couple. The house is very much family orientated and cosy. They made us feel very welcome.

Set in the stunning Sussex countryside. Mill House Cottage is located in the village of Isfield, East Sussex. Nestled in the grounds of The Mill House the cottage is self contained with it's own garden and patio area. We are within a short driving distance of Uckfield, Lewes and Brighton.
Mill House cottage is a quaint and cosy retreat with original beams and log burner. Opposite the Mill House which has some interesting history with Dame Thora Hurd's daughter and John Anderson 1st Viscount of Waverley (Anderson shelter) also lived here. Mill House cottage is surprisingly spacious with a large kitchen equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Large sitting area with patio doors which open onto the paved outside space. Outdoor bench for alfresco dining during the warm summer months. The cottage also has a large separate dining room for colder months. The sleeping areas include an extremely spacious master bedroom with king size bed. Second bedroom is also a large space with 2 single beds. There are chests of drawers in both bedrooms and wardrobes in the hallway. The bathroom is fitted with shower, basin and toilet.
Isfield village has a local farm shop, Laughing Fish pub and Lavender railway Line for visitors to enjoy. Glyndebourne Opera house is just a 6 mile drive away from Isfield in the village of Glynde. There are numerous famous gardens within a short drive, Sheffield Park, Borde Hill and Wakehurst Place. Further afield Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and Nymans. The South Down National Park is within driving distance. The white cliffs of Seven Sisters, ancient woodlands and lowland heaths. Stunning views and hidden gems to be found. Ashdown Forest, the largest free access space in the South East and home to Winnie the Pooh is a short drive away. We have the choice of two championship golf courses. The largest being East Sussex National only a 5 mins drive away. If your looking for thrills why not try Fly Sussex. This is the UK's largest award winning paragliding school, just on the outskirts of Lewes.
  • Indeed a cosy cottage but with plenty of space. The surroundings are stunning set in rural Sussex yet the location offers easy access to facilities in Uckfield & Lewes. Charlie was extremely helpful and responsive.

    Craig2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everting you could possibly need. The cottage itself is huge! Loads of room and great crawling territory for our little girl. Fresh free range eggs, bead, butter and milk supplied. Cosy cottage- Charlie had been in to get it warmed up for us and put the Christmas lights on. We sadly had been delayed with weather and arrived after check-in but Charlie was so accommodating! We would heartily recommend a stay here!

    Lydia2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great cottage on the countryside. The use of a car is recommended. The cottage is in a beautiful walking area. An absolute must if you love nature.

    Erik2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie is so welcoming when she greets you and the property is beautiful in presentation and location. It was so quiet and peaceful which is just what we needed and, in addition to the already well-equipped cottage, Charlie had provided some extra lovely touches such as fresh eggs, bread and milk so we could have a welcome cuppa! The recommendations for a nice place to eat locally were also gratefully received. I cannot recommend this place enough for its comfort, space, cosiness and Charlie's hospitality. We will be back! Thank you

    Jenny2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is set in a beautiful quiet location is spotlessly clean, stylish decor and the bedrooms are enormous. The cottage is really warm and cosy there is a log burner we didn't use but imagine it would be lovely lighting that on a cold winter night. The fresh eggs (a couple of double yolkers), bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and sugar was much appreciated. Charlie is an amazing host, check in and out was fast and efficient. I highly recommend this amazing cottage great value for money book now to avoid disappointment!

  • We came here for a mini Christmas break before the big day and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Instructions on how to get there were clear (it’s very rural!), and place itself was spacious, spotless and bright! Hailey was a lovely host who was happy to let us settle in once we knew the basics, but was on the end of the phone should we have needed her and checked in on us by text throughout our stay - she also provided us with a great tip for going to the Wakehurst Glow Wild event which we loved! The kitchen was very well equipped, which was important to us as we wanted to cook a mini Christmas dinner and we were able to with ease - plus the fresh eggs from the farm she gifted us were incredible and really the cherry on top of this amazing stay!

  • A beautiful space, set in the most tranquil of locations, absolutely perfect for a weekend get away. Hailey and Martyn were fantastic hosts, great communication, met us on arrival and ensured we had everything we needed. I’m sure we will return.

  • This quiet, comfortable space set amongst beautiful gardens is the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended.

    Barton2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Martyn was a great host to us. His B&B and entire property was very well kept and everything works. We love his dog, peacocks, canaries & diamond dove (not to mention, all the other wild birds that came to his farm), rams, sheep, geese, chickens and the wonderful garden of fruits and vegetables. My daughter was especially impressed by his compost area as she is into recycling and sustainability. Ask for a guided tour so that you can understand more about his farm. In addition, his breakfast hamper with home-made bread and butter, jams and honey were delicious! And the fresh eggs from your chickens......best to eat it soft boiled.

  • This idyllic bolt hole in the country side is amazing we only stayed one night but a beautiful location with brilliant hosts made the visit great you would all love it

    Gail2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I wanted a calm, weekend away from London with country walks and fresh air - and that's exactly what we got. Tina's place was lovely, newly refurbished and modern (and very clean), only 20mins walk to super cozy pubs (recommend the Bull), and great nature around such as a walk along the river Ouse. Tina was really friendly and super accommodating (she even lent me a pair of wellies), and shared freshly laid eggs from her chickens with us. Highly recommend for a weekend away, but if you're coming from London like we did, hiring a car will be a little bit easier to get to experience all the different places around.

  • Fantastic Stay

    Richard2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable and comfortable weekend break in Tina’s cottage! The beds were extremely comfy and the cottage was clean, warm and modern. The location was quiet but close to amenities in local villages and towns along with endless walks in the surrounding area

    Bryony2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Tina’s cottage. The photos don’t do it justice; the space is much bigger than expected and we especially loved the huge comfy bed! There is everything you could possibly need for a break away from everything. Tina was really welcoming and very quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for making the beginning of our half-term break in the middle of a storm so relaxing!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Badgers Rest. It is beautifully quiet with a lovely feel to it. Tina is a wonderful host and genuinely caring. It is about a 15 minute drive into Hayward’s Heath where there is everything you’ll need. You certainly need a car, however that’s what makes it such a peaceful stay being away from everything. I recommend it.

    Willow2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet, homely cottage in a quiet location. Everything you need in one place.

We are nestled in two acres of private gardens and woodlands also being so close to must see places like Bluebell railway and Sheffield park gardens.Lewes (20 min dr) Brighton (30 min dr) and London (1 hr dr) we are also only 20 min from Gatwick. We have a horse, pony and at last count 10 chickens and a friendly cockerel. The studio has a separate entrance away from the main house and is a self contained apartment with a double bed, kitchenette and lounge area.
A relaxed and friendly enviroment with lots of surrounding space and gardens.Although wi fi is offered this service can be intermittent due to our rural location. Please note when using sat nav that when it says "Destination on right" we are actually on the left! same for "Desti nation on the left" we are on the right!
We are semi rural but within reach of many great pubs and attractions.
  • Spacious and peaceful. All the mod cons and a great location to gain access to all of Sussex.

  • The property is comfortable, cosy and stylish. It is very quiet and quite often the only noise you can hear is the rustling of the trees. Being from the city this is a novelty and exactly the kind of place I was looking for to relax while working away from home. It is well equipped and gives all the comforts of home in a well thought out space. Hugh was quick to respond and answered any questions I had, however, the information pack included has everything you will need for local food and pubs, medical emergency, local tourist sites etc. You could literally turn up here with no plan and be certain to find lots of exciting things to do. On arrival, I was able to check-in using the lockbox and Hugh had kindly left fresh milk, croissants and fruit. Overall I can't fault the place, it's a simple, affordable and practical for those who need a place to relax while travelling. Thank you.

  • Brilliant location. Short drive to shops such as tesco express and a large waitrose but also secluded enough to get away from city life. An extremely cute and cosy property. We planned to go out for dinner but stayed in on both nights as we liked the place so much.

    Tanya2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clear quick communication. Lovely place and peaceful location. Big space. Has a very comfortable bed. Hugh prepared nice fruit, fresh milk and few croissants for breakfast.. Bath take a little time to fill up but it didn’t bother us too much. Definitely recommended!

  • Hugh is a wonderful host. Myself and my boyfriend only stayed a night but felt really comfortable and at home and the whole time. The annexe was not only beautiful and spacious, but also really cosy - the heater kept us warm in the evening, and the bed was SO comfortable - neither of us wanted to get up! Breakfast and fresh milk was also waiting for us, which was a welcome thoughtful touch. We wandered over to The Bull pub in Newick, which was lovely - open fire and friendly staff. Hugh’s information and guidance helped us have a good time and kept us safe (particularly considering we didn’t have a car!). Thank you so much! Absolutely can’t go wrong with this place. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting the area.

  • Great stay

    Max2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lakeside Retreat was even better than expected. It really is completely remote and tranquil. The outside space is stunning and you can walk the land for hours taking in the wildlife. We even sat outside for a while both evenings making use of the Chimenea. My 10 year old son had the best time. Before arriving we were a little bit concerned we would be a bit cold in the lodge but we took layers and with the two electric radiators we were actually really toasty. We also took a trip to the local pub, the Cock Inn which had a very welcoming atmosphere and great pub grub! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and we hope to return again....perhaps in the summer!

    Sarah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in James's cabin. The location was beautiful and it was remote enough to feel as though you're out in the country, but close enough to shops to stay connected. James was prompt and clear with communication. Having stayed in the winter, I can imagine that in the summer it'd be amazing to have the doors open and have dinner on the decking.

    Izzy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • James Lodge was very tranquil and a real retreat to get away for pure relaxation. There is no WiFi and just a small TV so If peace is what you are looking for this is the place to be. There is no central heating so do wrap up . We did however have two heaters which were adequate but if you feel the cold like me a fleece and big socks will do fine. The surrounding walks etc were beautiful and we made some lovely friends ( being two gorgeous horses!) Overall a lovely stay and was sad to checkout. Will be back to experience it in the Summer. Oh just to add the beds were one of the comfiest I have stayed in!! Great nights sleep! Thanks guys!!

    Cheryl2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

This is a delightful, attractive double bedsit for single occupancy, on the second floor, attic space of this historic listed property. It's self contained space with bedroom, shower room, toilet, & workspace area. Please note that there are two short flights of steps, to this converted attic space. The house is centrally located at the top end of the high street, and easy access to the shops, restaurants and rail station. The room is nicely appointed to the front of the house.
There are lots of restaurants and fast food outlets within five minutes walking distance. We are very close to Uckfield Picture House for the latest movies.
  • My stay at Annette's house couldn't have been better. There are all the touches of someone proud to welcome people into their home. Not to mention Annette and her son's fantastic hospitality and generally lovely people. The room was great, I got an amazing nights sleep and toilet, shower facilities also fantastic. To top it off, there's such a sweet cat! An all round great stay - Annette really takes pride in hosting which comes across!

Delightful welcoming self catering log cabin set in 3 acres. A comfortable and spacious country haven. Heating and all amenities. Ideal for couples, families, friends and pets, or the individual. Easy access to Brighton, Lewes, Sheffield Park and Bluebell Railway. Traditional villages and many National Trust properties in the vicinity and yet only an hour from London.
Guests are welcome to use all the grounds around the house and cabin. If they bring pets guests need to know that the boundaries are mostly trees and hedging so may not be secure.
The property is in a quiet country lane in the field behind the main dwelling and is surrounded by grass where deer like to roam.
  • Mary is a wonderful hostess, who was kind and generous to us throughout our trip. The main house B and B and lodge in the garden are set in beautiful quiet countryside with plenty of parking. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen, which we especially value. Nice size bedroom with a good double bed. All in all the cabin was top notch. The Wheel House is a converted stable on an old (no longer a working) Farm. The scenery is beautiful with open countryside on your door step. Close to Lewes, Brighton and the seven sisters plus much more. The space is a studio with either a king size bed or two single beds. There are two arm chairs, a tv, a basic kitchenette and a bathroom. The space is comfortable, very clean and cozy.
A clean and warm and very comfortable studio. A large tv and a basic kitchen (single hob ring, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and plates, and knives and forks, plates, etc). Two armchairs and a large king size bed that can also be made into two single beds. A small bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. There is also a utility room on site with a washing machine that you can use. There is a small terrace to sit out on and star gaze (you will see plenty of the beautiful night sky with little light pollution in this rural area) watch the sun come up or go down.
We are very close to The historic town of Lewes and 15 minutes to Brighton and the seven sisters. Near castles & other areas of interest. Perfect for walking and site seeing. The Wheelhouse is on the grounds of an old farm (no longer a working farm), please feel to explore the garden, in the summer when the water is low you can cross the stream and walk for miles along a briddle trial and reach a Bluebell wood. Please note that there are two ponds and a stream and farming equipment around the farm so children should be supervised at all times. My parents in law Mr and Mrs West live at the farmhouse and will be able to help you with anything that you need. We try to give you as much privacy as possible but of course we are here if you need us. We will change your bed sheets and towels after seven days , or before if you wish. We can change them for you or give to you to change yourself. There is also access to a washing machine in the utility room on site. There is an iron and ironing board and clothes horse in the Wheelhouse. The Wheelhouse is near to a road so there can sometimes be some noise from it, though we find (in our opinion and from our experience) it is not troublesome or constant noise and never troubles us with sleeping or relaxing. We are in a rural location and surrounded by farms with livestock, because of this at certain times of year there will be insects and flies around. We do our best to keep them to a minimum, however this is the country so note there will be flies and creepy crawlies.
  • Nice and Quite

Off road parking, great communication, peaceful environment and simply delightful to stay in. Thanks again for making my trip enjoyable.

Located in a quiet lane within a few minutes walk of the village, the apartment is ideal for a restful getaway and base for exploring Lewes, the South Downs and Brighton.

We are within walking distance of Barcombe village, with its shop, post office and pub, and close to Lewes, Glyndebourne and the South Downs. The area is very picturesque with many footpaths including a lovely walk into Lewes itself along the river Ouse.
  • I rarely give a place 5 stars but in this case it was valid. We went for the bondfire Festival in Lewes and they were helpful throughout it all from calling days before to lifts and advice. As for the place it's got everything you might need ...fast internet, quiet street, fully furnished with all the small details you may need, black out curtains etc even for non bondfire visits it's splendid.

  • John and Alison’s place was exceptionally clean and had good self-catering facilities for our stay. We were warmly welcomed and communication before check-in was clear and accurate. Thanks John and Alison!

  • What a lovely place, all self contained, parking, a nice area to sit out in the sun, fresh and airy looking, comfy chairs, well equipped kitchen, some teabags and coffee in case you forgot your own, comfy bed, large shower room. Bathroom extras, shower gel etc, towels and bedding. On a quiet country lane. John and Alison were lovely and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and will return.

    Georgios2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very compact and very quiet location. Unfortunately the telephone signal is not great in the area so make sure you heed John’s directions before setting out. The studio is very pleasant and has all that is needed for a get away. John is extremely helpful. Disappointed not to have meet Alison.

  • This apartment is great if you are visiting the area and want a comfortable and stylish place to sleep. Unfortunately wasn’t able to use the outdoor space as winter but looks perfect for a summers evening.

    Rebecca2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia was fantastic and Little Combe Bank is a lovely place. Patricia responded very quickly our queries before and after booking and was kind enough to host us over Christmas! Having checked with us, she even went to the effort of getting us a real Xmas tree and decorations to make it really festive and homely! Lots of other thoughtful touches as well. We had lots of privacy but it was nice that Patricia checked in with us to make sure everything was OK, which it certainly was! Was really impressed with the facilities and it’s such a lovely place to spend quality time together. Highly recommend. Thanks so much.

    Katherine2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I found Patricia’s place to be an ideal base for peace and quiet. The bed was truly cosy, the place was warm. A hot shower and blankets made a very comfortable retreat. I could cook a nourishing meal because I didn’t want to venture out. It is decorated with pretty Moroccan lights which glow warmly at this time of year and I enjoyed the private aspect of the woodland across the garden.

  • Great place to stay, very welcoming, lovely atmosphere and gardens. Good fresh eggs from the chickens

    Joe2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's place was absolutely perfect - the bed was comfy and the amenities all worked well. The outside space was particularly lovely and we enjoyed breakfast looking over the beautiful gardens on both sunny mornings. Would 100% recommend!

    Poppy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The house was stylish, super clean and cosy. Patricia has stocked the fridge with bread, bacon, eggs and milk for breakfast which was a really thoughtful touch.

The views are just stunning and the outside space is so much bigger than the photos show. We were greeted by Linda on arrival and after a quick tour were left to our own devices. ( Linda also left us plenty of wood for the fire pit which we co9uld use whenever we wished. Plenty of outdoor areas to make use of. Inside, everything has been thought of in order to make for a perfect stay. The bed is probably one of the best we have stayed in ( making it hard to leave for work in the mornings!) Linda and Ron are just really good people, who have created a very lovely environment and are so friendly. Cannot wait to have another stay here.

Tranquil 2 bed cottage in a peaceful, rural location with private garden & sun terrace and outside seating. In the courtyard of my home, it has a spacious open plan living space, high beamed ceilings, a log burner & sunny conservatory. Year-round access to a heated indoor pool. Smart TV & free WiFi. Close to a range of sights and activities including the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Gardens, Bluebell Vineyard, Ashdown Forest, Glyndebourne, the South Downs, Wakehurst Place, the beach...!
Beautiful, self contained 2 bed (1 king and 1 twin) cottage with a private, secluded, sunny garden, a BBQ and garden furniture. Year round access to our indoor, heated swimming pool. Surrounded by beautiful, rolling Sussex countryside, the cottage is in a peaceful, rural location and our cats, dog and free range chickens wander around the gardens, yard and fields. The cottage is perfect for families/couples/friends wanting to escape busy lives and relax in peaceful, rural surroundings. Although private and secluded, The Old Dairy is in the courtyard of my home where I have a young family so this is not somewhere for people who are looking to party/play loud music etc. Cosy in the winter with the beams and log burner and perfect in the summer with the sun-filled conservatory, private terrace and garden, and indoor swimming pool with glass doors down one side - the pool is our family pool so has pool toys/floats etc; it is lovely and light-filled but is not a smart spa-type pool! I provide crisp white linen, bath towels, a swimming towel per person, soap, hand wash, washing up liquid and j-cloths, bin liners and a couple of dishwasher tablets. I will also leave fresh eggs from our happy, organic, free-range chickens (subject to laying!!), milk, fresh and instant coffee, butter, tea bags (regular and herbal) and sugar. I leave a bottle of sparkling wine for longer bookings. Salt, pepper and oils are also stocked in the kitchen. Child and pet friendly, I can provide up to two travel cots (with mattresses) and high chairs and the cottage is equipped with all children's cutlery, plates, cups etc. During colder months I will provide wood, kindling and paper for the fire for your first night and we have a store where you can buy more from us at cost price thereafter.
We are on the edge of Ashdown Forest which spans over 6,000 acres and is a walker’s paradise. Sheffield Park Gardens is just down the road with its breathtaking scenery. For a great family day out, the Bluebell Railway is just around the corner. Wakehurst Place is about a 15min drive away, they often run innovative and fun activities for children but is equally well worth a visit for the Gardens alone. Lewes is a beautiful town about 20mins away. Lovely restaurants, cafes and a number of incredible antiques emporiums to rummage through. The South Downs are about 30mins away and are just stunning...endless rolling hills stretch out to explore. The lovely sussex coast is just beyond the downs. There are many brilliant pubs within about 10mins of the cottage. World famous Glyndeborne is about 25 minutes from us.
  • Lovely weekend in a quiet spot. Nice touches of bread, milk, and butter. Great space to relax and catch up with friends.

  • Lucy's property was a lovely little family escape from London. Ours kids loved splashing around in the swimming pool, there's plenty to do in the area (we enjoyed Sheffield Park and the Bluebell Railway), and we felt so welcome from the first interaction. Highly recommended!

The Barn at Glebe is a spacious, completely self contained, two bedroom cottage in Fletching. Surrounded by a large walled garden, and in the grounds of an historic country house, the barn offers a chance to escape to the country and explore this beautiful area. Furnished with antiques and quality finishes, you can curl up in front of the log fire, cook up a storm or have a wine in the garden whilst planning a country walk with your dog. Breakfast provisions are plentiful and luxurious.
The barn is in the centre of the village, opposite the historic 14th century church and only a short walk from exquisite country pubs, the cricket ground and lovely long country walks.
Fletching is an undiscovered jewel deep in the East Sussex countryside. Only eight minutes drive from Uckfield, twenty minutes from Lewes and fifteen minutes from Haywards Health, Fletching is conveniently situated for local towns and markets and train links to London (45 minutes) and Gatwick airport (20 minutes) but maintains an air of gentility and history undisturbed by the fast pace of the metropolitan centres. Walking around the village, you will see an array of fine Tudor and Georgian homes, two characterful coaching inns with legendary menus, wines and ales on tap, and views of the south downs to make you sigh. Other than these watering holes, there is a gourmet café and village shop, a church and a cricket ground....lulling you into thinking you've stepped back in time
  • Elizabeth’s cottage was better than expected and is in such a wonderful location, with easy walk to the pub and coffee shop. We were welcomed with snacks, breakfast and a few treats in the fridge. She was very responsive to all messages we sent her. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you for hosting us!

    Jessica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stay in a lovely location, with a very generous hamper full of yummy goods on arrival. Elizabeth was so helpful and friendly from the booking stage through to the stay. We will look forward to visiting again soon. x

  • Really lovely little house with everything you need and more. All the little extras were such a thoughtful touch.

    Ruth2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We spent almost three months at The Barn, and had a wonderful stay. It's a beautiful space and extremely cosy, with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. The big country kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, and very well equipped (including a welcome hamper of tea, coffee, jam, eggs, cake and a bottle of wine). I also used this as a workspace during my stay (WiFi connection is very good). Elizabeth is an excellent host; very friendly and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We also highly recommend her cooking! Fletching village is a small and peaceful place with two excellent dog-friendly pubs - both very cosy with open fires and delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning in the near future!

Our room with en-suite was also perfect, plenty of space, comfy bed and very clean, complete with toiletries, tea, coffee & biscuits. Alison was very welcoming & friendly as was one of the lovely cats who was waiting at the door when we arrived & came up to our room with us to make sure we got settled in ok ! I would definitely consider staying there again & I highly recommend it.

A tranquil environment to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet. A single storage cottage close to Ashdown Forest offering an all weather tennis court and outdoor swimming pool (heated June - August). The cottage sits in its own enclosed garden.
Brickyard Farm Cottage is the perfect place for a memorable break. A single storage cottage on the edge of Piltdown golf course offering an all weather tennis court and outdoor swimming pool (heated between June and August). The local area offers excellent golf, cycling, fishing and walking. The cottage sits in its own enclosed garden. The heated swimming pool is within a separate secluded secure garden. There is a barbecue area and seating for al fresco dining. There is a barn which can be used for the safe storage of bikes and there is ample parking for a number of cars. (Minimum two night booking) The neighbourhood The Peacock Inn is in walking distance and is the quintessential country inn offering a wealth of historic features. Old Spot Farm Shop is one mile, stocking a wide variety of farmhouse produce, much of it sourced locally. Supermarkets are within easy distance. Other things to note The pool will be heated 27 May - 18 September. The temperature is set to 28 - 30 degrees but it is heated by a heat exchanger, we can never guarantee that it will achieve this temperature. Although we do our utmost to keep the pool in tip top condition, it has been known to get algae bloom and had to be closed for a couple of days until safe to swim again

The historic towns of Lewes and Royal Tunbridge Wells are close by. Glyndebourne is 8 miles. Quirky and bohemian Brighton is within 20 miles. Lovely fresh flowers, bacon, eggs, sausages, bread on arrival, self checkin was easy and always a quick response from Caroline. Sky Tv was a nice surprise, perfect facilities for a couple or like us a small family with a dog. You’re guaranteed the perfect nights sleep as the beds and linen are perfect and all you will hear during the night is the odd Owl and birds Perfect Air bnb

    Trev2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely delightful little cottage with the most magnificent host. We came from Los Angeles to see my father for Christmas (who lives in Crowborough) and decided to stay at Caroline’s cottage... and so glad we did. Caroline is a wonderful host and upon arrival all the food essentials were available (eggs, bacon, milk, pastries, bread etc). Made so welcome after our 13 hour trip! She even had a Christmas tree and little chocolate gifts for my children! Adorable. The kids loved the hot water bottles! The cottage was spotless, and perfect for the 4 of us with all the amenities needed for our stay. I could live there! The Cottage provides privacy on a gorgeous property with a pool, tennis court and my son played some basketball on the court. We felt so welcomed by Caroline and the communication was the best I have ever experienced from an AirBnB host. Thank you Caroline for a truly special visit. X
