Holiday rentals with lake access in Mendip District

Truly wonderful stay - my parents and daughter travelled from Australia to spend Christmas with me and we decided to go to the Cotswolds (along with my dog). I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Tracey’s home had everything we needed, set amongst a beautiful, tranquil surrounding nestled on the lake. Picturesque views and relaxing surroundings. The house itself is beautifully presented - lots of lovely little touches and thoughtful additions. It was so easy to get around from the house to all different parts of the Cotswolds - perfect place to come back to after a days worth of outings. Nice hot shower and comfy couch and amenities. Restaurants and pubs close by within an easy four to six minute drive - dogs welcome! Thank you for a wonderful stay. It truly made our Christmas.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The house was really lovely and well equipped for 3 families all staying together. The Estate was lovely and the facilities great, although you meed to remember to book things like the Spa we'll in advance and the pool and pizza. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We had a wonderful time. The place is lovely and much nicer and bigger than the photos in my opinion. The host was really responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a trip with friends or family. Kitchen has more than enough glasses/pots/pans etc which was really helpful when cooking a meal for 6. Lovely space and I will be back :-)

4 couples, had a great weekend at Eider Cottage. Only one parking place allocated, but plenty of visitor places nearby. The house was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We kicked off our shoes and completely relaxed. Being directly on the lake was wonderful and we enjoyed using the Kayaks to explore the other side. Saw many varieties of birds. The Spa is a short walk away. We booked the day before, and had a lovely time using the 3 pools. We did a lot of walking around the beautiful lakes and 2 of us brought their bikes. The on site Property Managers, Liam & Pete were on hand and had excellent communications. We would highly recommend Eider Cottage and hope to return to Lower Mill Estate in the near future.

Excellent accommodation - felt great to be there ! Di was pro-active in advising about the fishing pass, which enabled John to fish in the lake and catch 2 trout- wonderful for him ! The rest of party really enjoyed the house - real quality and great feel good factor. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Also, fab environment with lots to do. Wonderful walk along the canal towpath and back by Lake 6 and then on Easter Sunday a tasty and friendly cooked breakfast at the Gateway Cafe. All our expectations exceeded !!

Lovely place right on the water. Looks better than the photos. Had everything we needed in a great location with access to pool and with onsite restaurant and little shop. Perfect for a get away would come again

Beautiful place to stay, very helpful information folder of the area. You could walk or drive to restaurants/bar. If the weather had been better we would have explored the lakes more. But we got out and about . Very clean and tidy place and everything inside that you could possibly want. We would definitely stay again . Thanks Frannie x

Robert and Gali were amazing hosts as they are so warm, thoughtful, and kind and it made my colleague and I feel like we were back home. The communication is also unbelievable as they were always in touch and very responsive if there were any questions. The location is absolutely perfect as there are many places within walking distance and you have a lovely view right outside. The home is also full of all the amenities you could desire and is very clean. I would highly recommend this place for a short or long-term stay. Absolutely amazing place and incredible hosts!

absolutely amazing place to stay felt right at home first place we have stayed where we had different things already provided we packed lots to come with us tea sugar coffee dish cloths fairy liquid so we was stunned to see that all this was already provided we had a fantastic stay Debby & Grant was amazing from booking to getting home we will definitely book through you again and be back beautiful caravan in the perfect spot close to the heart of everything thank you both me my partner and children had the best time and made amazing memories 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful apartment with everything u need. Right next to the ocean, u could hear the waves in the night coming in. Would recommend :)

Jane was an excellent host and responded to my enquiries before booking and whilst we were there. The apartment is bright and airy with a perfect balcony where you can watch the sun go down whilst listening to the birds. The spa on site is great, outdoor pool is a little fresh! You need to book a slot in advance in busy periods but Jane will send you all the details you need. We had a really relaxing stay and would stay again.

Geoffrey's place was a beautiful apartment with stunning views, especially the sunset. amazing to relax at the end of the day on the balcony. Top tier! Geoffrey was great and super helpful. He left breakfast and everything we could possibly need to cook and make ourselves at home. Would 100% recommend and if the time came would definitely stay again. Thanks heaps!

We had a wonderful stay at Aston House in the beautiful Lower Mill Estate. We were a group of 8 adults, 2 children, and a dog, and the house fitted us all comfortably with plenty of space to relax and unwind after busy days exploring. The living areas were perfect for chilling out and watching TV together. The location was ideal too – just a 30-minute walk along the Thames Path to The White Hart, which was a great bonus. The hosts were extremely responsive and provided clear, helpful instructions throughout. Highly recommend!

Had a lovely stay for a few days at Jacqueline's place. Very well equipped with everything you could want - it was great having filter coffee, tea, bread, milk and a cake waiting for us on arrival. Our three year olds loved running around in the garden playing with the toy car and slide that had kindly been left out for us. Really large lovely kitchen and the whole house was deceptively spacious. Jacqueline was also a great communicator, letting us know when the place was ready on the morning of our arrival. Thanks for having us!!!

Janey was the perfect host. We arrived a little early and she very flexibly let us check-in, despite having to prepare everything herself as her cleaner was not available. We also arrived a little unprepared and on a Sunday but Janey had left all the essentials we needed to tide us over including a delicious homemade cake, croissants for breakfast the following morning, milk, butter and eggs. The setting is lovely overlooking a very large pond with a lot of visiting geese and ducks. There are little boats and life jackets for children. This is an ideal spot for a family holiday with the fossil beach at Kerridge Bay only an hour away by car and a number of lovely walks on Iron Age hill forts very close by, as well as lovely villages and National Trust properties. We would highly recommend Janey's property for a relaxing, comfortable and homely holiday. I am sure we will be back.

Great place to stay, with a couple of cute pubs nearby (make sure to check out New Inn). Quite walkable, with a playground nearby and the lake about 20 minutes walk away

From the moment we booked Anna was friendly and helpful, with a lovely welcome on arrival. The barn is extremely peaceful and in an idyllic setting. Well-furnished and with some extra touches that were greatly appreciated. Wells was a very short drive away, and Glastonbury and the surrounding area no more than 15 minutes. We would definitely look to return and will also recommend to family and friends looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

We stayed for 2 nights at Sharon’s place and were very happy with everything about the house and area. I had not realised how rural the village was and loved the views from the back door watching the sun rise over the hill. The house was spotless and well appointed. The welcome pack was a nice touch although we had brought food with us. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. We had an Indian takeaway from Merthyr Tydfil the first night which we collected. Only 18 minutes drive away, then cooked the second night. Plenty of utensils in the kitchen. We loved the drive over the moors with the fabulous views and had a wonderful hike in the Brecon Beacons. We also visited Brecon and enjoyed having a look around d the shops. Sharon was very responsive and able to give recommendations. We would recommend to anyone planning to explore the area.

Great place to stay, we took day trips to Salisbury, Cheltenham and Bath. All were within easy reach. Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Homely & well-equipped. Note that to use the indoor pool you have to ring them or walk over at 10:30 in the morning to book a 1 hour slot for the next day. Would definitely recommend staying here. We are looking forward to coming back.

A perfect place for a few days' relaxing, break in an idyllic setting. Amongst the places I've stayed for holidays & short breaks it was one of the best with many thoughtful touches, such as tissues in every room & welcoming bread, eggs & cider from their cider business. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
