Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Mendip District

After a mixup with the entry code, all was well. The little house was just as it looked online, was well equipped (even a cafetière) and very clean. It was just right for our anniversary- and the carrot cake and Prosecco that was left for us was delicious. And…the sun came out for us in October.

The house was our home for a few days celebrating a 70th birthday. The glorious weather helped but the garden spaces with toys and sports equipment provided was great for young and old. Add in the hot tub, bbq and the ample fire pit for the cool evenings and everyone was happy. The house was spacious for 15 of us, with everything provided to cook up a storm and a games room offering a bit of friendly competition when it was needed. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful stay in the lodges while visiting family in the area. Andrea was incredibly helpful from first communication and just the loveliest, most accomodating host. The lodges are idyllic and situated in lovely surroundings with nice walks. We will not hesitate to book again.

This amazing, quirky cottage is in a spectacular setting. The house is lovely and spacious, really comfortable and full of character. The valley it sits in is teeming with wildlife: we saw deer, pheasants, an owl, butterflies and so much more, all only footsteps from the door. It was such a treat. Sam and Mark were wonderful hosts, very unobtrusive but easily contactable and helpful if needed. It was the perfect place to unwind for a few days with the family. We had intended to go for out and about, but instead, we spent a lot of time enjoying the garden, the pond, playing games in front of the log burner, cooking and eating together in the well-equipped, expansive kitchen and generally having a great time. We would love to return another time. Thank you to Sam and Mark for sharing your Enchanted Mill and the lush valley. Missing it already :-)

WOW! This is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in! If you’re staying in Glastonbury but want a peaceful place to stay (which is ten mins from the walk to the Tor) just book it ! The house is absolutely stunning but we spent most of the time in the garden which is out of this world and very private. The hot tub was a huge bonus after a trip into town to relax away from the crowds – Sophie has made her home so welcoming & its perfect for a group. The beds are so comfy and all you can hear is birdsong each morning – its is so gorgeous and tranquil. The location couldn’t have been better – we went into town to eat (Queen of Cups is fab) one night but stayed ‘home’ for the rest of the time. Chalice Well & White Springs also within walking distance (down dirt track). Celebrated my 50th here and from start to finish it was the perfect weekend. Thanks so much Sophie. A lovely, relaxing couple of nights stay. The Coach House has all you need, is warm and cosy and very comfortable. The beds are super comfy and the duvets really warm and cosy. The garden is very private and a lovely feature, and for anyone staying in warmer weather has everything you need to spend plenty of time outdoors. If you're looking to keep your steps up, try a walk round the lakes, lots of bird life, very interesting. The lighting system took a bit of getting used to but is very ambiant and well thought out. The kitchen has plenty of space so you can cook and chat. It would have been good if the oven had worked but we were told about this beforehand and provided with an airfryer so could work around this quite easily. The host was always quick to respond, kept in touch and made our stay very easy. I would recommend The Coach House for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. All the quirky little touches make The Coach House quite unique and we would definately return.

A beautiful house in a lovely, quiet location. Very spacious and has everything you could possibly need. The garden is amazing. It’s the perfect place for a family or friends get together. We went to The Crown in the village for a meal (3 min drive or 15 min walk), it’s a beautiful pub. Rosanna is an excellent host. We would thoroughly recommended Narracott House.

Had such a great stay at Carole's place. She was an incredibly friendly and helpful host, who even gave us a whistle-stop tour of the surrounding area and dropped us off at a lovely pub. The property was cozy, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed playing the board games provided and really appreciated the beautiful fresh flowers provided. Thanks so much

Jane was an excellent host and responded to my enquiries before booking and whilst we were there. The apartment is bright and airy with a perfect balcony where you can watch the sun go down whilst listening to the birds. The spa on site is great, outdoor pool is a little fresh! You need to book a slot in advance in busy periods but Jane will send you all the details you need. We had a really relaxing stay and would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay here. The place was so clean and had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub was fantastic. The beds were so comfy (and I am super picky about this). The location was great, we had such a great stay, my daughter did not want to leave.

Peaceful location and clean, cosy accommodation. Ideal for our purpose which was researching properties in Chepstow. There is no kitchen so be prepared to travel to eat and the location is off the beaten track so use the what3words reference for accurate sat nav especially in the dark.

We had a lovely break away, the accommodation had everything we wanted and as described. It was easy and quick to walk into Bath centre while being in a very quiet street. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the flat. It was so relaxing and easy going and there was so much to keep two boys and two dogs occupied when we weren’t out walking. There’s a really nice walk down to the river from the house and it’s a short distance from many other hiking sites. The kids loved the trampoline, skate park, and tree net and our city dogs enjoyed meeting all the farm animals and resident dogs. We felt so much at home there and no one was ready to leave!

This is a lovely place to stay with beautiful views from the outside terrace. This accommodation had everything we needed and was very convenient for visiting local attractions such as Wells and Cheddar Gorge. Carol was excellent at communicating and very helpful when we needed to change our booking due to personal circumstances. Thank you for a great stay Carol and the delicious complimentary cream tea you left for us. We would definitely come back here again and recommend it to family and friends.

Everything was perfect! Richard is an absolute gem and I would highly recommend staying here. The decor is wonderful, the kitchen was well equipped with herbs and spices, hot tub was amazing, comfy beds, couldn’t say a single bad thing! Great stay in a beautiful location with many amenities included in the room. Peaceful and basic, but everything you would need. We would only recommend something to deter the Wasps as the room is located near to the Oak tree but this would be the only minor thing!

What an amazing stay, scenic location , great attention to detail in the shepherds huts with everything you require for a stay. The whole experience exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back again. Peter the host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was one to remember .. A true gem in the rolling hills or Somerset.

We have just stayed at The Wales Retreat for the 2nd time (the first time being 3 years ago). This place truly is a retreat. The location is fabulous, a lovely quiet site and sitting on the comfortable chairs on the decking, all you can hear is the sound of the waves and the sea. All the different options for seating, means that there is a seat suitable for everyone. The garden is secure for dogs and there is an area for fire pits and BBQ. The Wales Retreat is true to the photos. It's spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. It is a home from home and has all the facilities you need to make it a fabulous holiday. Emily keeps you informed of all the instructions you need to check in and a number is provided should you need it if you have any issues. There is a pub onsite which serves food in the evening and also has a children's play area. The walk down to the beach is not an easy one, but it is worth it. This is a five star accommodation and we look forward to staying again.

It was a lovely stay, exactly what we were looking for. Very peaceful with stunning views. We hope to stay there again in the future.

We had a great 2 night stay at the cabin - it was very clean, homely and in a great peaceful location in the countryside. Carole was very friendly and met us to check us in and gave us helpful information about the place and nearby locations. We loved the animals, especially the goats who were full of character and kept us entertained when sitting outside in the evenings! Would definitely recommend to anyone :)

Myself and my boyfriend had a brilliant time staying in the Swan Pod. We had only booked for 3 nights but I definitely didn’t want to go home. It was easy to find and even easier to check in which is what I was hoping for. The lake is beautiful and the animals were just a bonus, I would definitely recommend if you want a nice, peaceful getaway for a few days.

what a lovely stay! Great communication throughout from Amy, making us feel very welcome. Hunters Barn was exactly as we thought it would be, in a lovely setting with friendly animals. And beautiful inside. Wish we could have stayed longer. Amy's little touches were a lovely surprise too, and the box of toys left out for our son to play with was another added bonus and very appreciated. Pleasure staying here.

Truly stunning location with beautiful friendly hosts who made us feel at welcome to explore the whole farm. Victoria obviously has an exceptional eye for detail, the Lodge was clean and very well organised, with everything and more than we needed.
