Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Leith

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage is very cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Our toddler especially loved exploring outside and had a great time running around the old Kirk next door. A lovely, peaceful spot—we’d definitely stay again!

I have no word that truly captures this place. It is centrally located for folks who want to explore the highlands, lowlands and anywhere in between. The home was SO cozy and Maggie welcomed us like family, sharing her local knowledge of the best places to visit, great scenic routes to get there, and absolutely THE best restaurants around. The home had comfy bedding, a cozy living room complete with wood burning stove for those chilly nights, and a oversized tub to soak away the day. Maggie even had milk and orange juice in the refrigerator waiting for our coffee and tea. The scenery is second to none, surrounded by picturesque hills and a view of the Loch. I could stay here forever.

The Shiel House was an absolutely stunning and massive property. We visited as a large group of 8 on a golf trip, and this was the perfect Airbnb. It was beyond spacious, with all the amenities a large group would need for a week long stay. The location was great for us with popular golfing destinations like St Andrews and Gleneagles within driving distance, as well as a litany of local courses. We also were within driving distance of Edinburgh with plenty of fine dining options. Tim was a very gracious and helpful host who provided clear instructions on locating the property, as well as a fun treasure hunt that takes you around the property and to local spots. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the property and the host!!

What stunning views and such a tranquil location. Loved our stay and hosts were so accommodating when we were a little late and they opened up for our grocery delivery driver! We are a family of four with a dog and loved using the enclosed garden, bbq and fire pit. Beds are comfortable and showers are super. Even the sofa bed is great! Would stay again. We had a fantastic stay at Green Cottage. Craig was very helpful from the start with travel tips and luggage drop off information. Craig provided very useful information for checking in and locating the cottage, everything was easy to follow. The cottage is in a lovely location, within walking distance of the Royal Botantial Gardens and the coast line. It is also near many bus routes and easy to visit all the tourist sites in Edinburgh.

We had a wonderfull stay in this almost like new house. Highly recommanded!

A great base for visiting Edinburgh. Lovely accommodation; peaceful neighbourhood and very easy transport links into the city. Can also highly recommend the Riccarton Inn, within a few minutes walk - great food and drinks selection and the Tuesday night quiz is good fun. Fiona is an excellent host - very responsive, clear communication and very proactive to make sure your stay is a good one. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Glenn's Airbnb :) All the facilities were perfect and the location was easy to find and a great base for exploring Edinburgh and beyond 💗 Super easy to jump on and off a bus for further trips (we did Portabello Beach and Edinburgh zoo). Would recommend and stay again!

Super clean apartment. Everything we needed for our stay. As others have said, if you have mobility issues the 80+ stairs in may be problematic, but worth it. On the tram line, so super easy to get around especially with tap in and out now active. Thank you

It was my first time traveling alone and Skye helped make me feel very comfortable. She was extremely accommodating and amazing to interact with. The location is perfect for exploring the city by foot. You’re only a 20-30 minute walk from the old and new town (Victoria street and princes street). It’s almost a direct walk up the main street or I chose to walk through the park. It’s a very safe area and everyone is super friendly. I felt very safe being alone. There are plenty of good food options nearby even amazing vegan options. Or the flat has a full kitchen with everything you need to cook yourself a meal. There’s even a small grocery store next door. It’s very cozy and cutely decorated. I would absolutely love to stay here again! Thank you so much for everything Skye!

Great location with views of Edinburgh Castle just a block away. The tram stop was less than a 5 minute walk as well. The apartment is well decorated and had everything we needed. Greg provided many recommendations and always responded timely. Princes Street and George Street are less than 5 minutes away.

Amazing house with lots to do. The room at the top of the spiral stairs was just a bit difficult to get into and out of, with low ceilings, and it gets warm up there. One more bathroom for that number of bedrooms could be nice... but it all worked out. It was pretty close to perfect for our family reunion. And it's great for hide and seek! We recommend it.

This house was exactly as advertised. Spacious and beautiful. Perfect for two families. Check in was easy and Jacki was very responsive.

Stayed here for 2 nights with 5 other adults - one of the best decisions! As a start, check-in was smooth. Everyone has their bed, towels which is great. Had to figure out the heater (our country is Summer all year) and Lukas was very responsive. This location is almost a straight drive to the city centre. With free parking at the location, it gave us great relief to know we won’t get penalised. Love this place! I would recommend this to others.

we have just left Howford house after a lovely 3 night weekend stay to celebrate my husbands 40th. we were a family of 14 adults, 2 children and a newborn baby and we had the most peaceful comfortable stay. the house is fantastic, it has everything you need and the location although super private and peaceful, it was near restaurants, the coop supermarket, Traquair House and land which we got discounted because we were house guests, and lots of walks and hikes. the surrounding acres were stunning with the frost and autumn leaves. we all loved our stay, the kids (and the adults) didn't want to leave. special thanks to Elaine the housekeeper who was brilliant with her communication and help. we will recommend and be back in the future.

The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive, making everything seamless from start to finish. The location is perfect – nestled in a peaceful area but just a quick hop onto the motorway, giving you easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Entering this well appointed, beautiful home, there is a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The skylights bring in the natural light to the bathrooms. The Kitchen is modern and sleek, with everything you need to make a first class meal. The visually stunning, spacious backyard has a wonderful garden. There is a park just behind the house. My daily jog would lead me down to the beach. Here i would do a quick cold plunge- rejuvenating my body. The area is surrounded by a world renowned collection of golf clubs. The Longniddry golf club is a short walk and is a fun track. Thank you for being great hosts.

Suzanna and Derek welcomed us in a friendly way and explained everything to us in detail. We were able to leave our luggage a little earlier than the specified time. Overall, everything was as described. A little cutlery would have been great:-) We didn't ask for it, but I'm sure Suzanna would have helped us out with it. Portobello is a nice suburb of Edinburgh, right on the beach. There are good bus services in the city. Shopping facilities are also within walking distance.
