Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Cookham

We stayed here as had a family wedding close by. It was comfortable and we enjoyed being able to walk to local shops and cafes.

We spent an enjoyable 3 weeks in this very old cottage which has been tastefully and sympathetically restored keeping its original low beams and features. Sydenham is a charming Oxfordshire village very close to the Chilterns. It’s an ideal place to explore from. There are lovely walks and views. It’s an easy drive to the market town of Thame and other thatched villages, many of which appear in Midsomer Murders. The Crown opposite provides pub meals and has a lovely garden.

From the very start to leaving the communication was brilliant. The home is in the most amazing location. We was fortunate that we knew we wanted to stay here and Fiona was accommodating to our request. We had a brilliant time and if ever back in the area would hope that we could get back! This was my second time at The Mews and I couldn’t recommend more! It’s very private and peaceful but very close to lots of things. There was plenty of space and the welcome basket was the sweetest touch! Will definitely be booking again!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and exceeded expectations. It is decorated to a high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed. The beds are both a good size and beds very comfortable. We all slept well. Some people have commented on noise from the road, yes you can hear the traffic but it did not bother us through the night. The garden is enclosed and perfect for eating out in. If you don't want to cook a meal I would recommend the three Crowns just a 5 minute walk up the road. There is also an Indian restaurant a 4 minute walk away. The hosts were very responsive to messages. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

My friends and I had a fantastic stay here. It’s so close to the town Center and the property was stunning. When my friends and I are in town next, we’ll be looking to book here again

Can’t express how gorgeous this property is. It was perfect for my wife and her bridesmaids to get ready the morning of our wedding. John and Jo have everything there that you might need, thank you so much for being so thoughtful.

Great place, highly recommend. I had expected something much smaller from the photos and price. Lots of space inside and out, private self contained property, very quiet and peaceful. Would have loved to stay for more nights and really make the most of the property. Many thanks

The amenities in this accomodation are excellent, considering it is a studio. It is comfortable and quiet. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Shane's flat at Notting Hill was perfect for my family's first trip to London. Perfect location. Very easy to walk to restaurants and the Tube Station. Shane was super easy to communicate with... although we did not need anything as our flat had everything for a week's stay. I would highly recommend the flat to anyone who wants to stay in one of the prettiest areas of London.

This apartment was wonderful. Very clean and quiet!! We enjoyed the quiet street and the lovely neighborhood very much. The apartment was very close to a grocery store, restaurants, and the trains! We were able to check in early which we really appreciated because our cruise ship arrived in a Southampton very early. I definitely want to come back to London and will stay here again. We didn’t drink the free bottle of wine but appreciated the gesture. We actually planned to but by the time we got back to the apartment each night we were full! Notting Hill Glow was exactly as described. On a busy street, but wooden bedroom doors filter almost all of the nighttime noise. Not having air conditioning was not an issue for us as daytime highs were under 80 degrees and nighttime was cooler, but I can imagine it could be uncomfortable if temperatures reached the 90s. We were able to walk to several great restaurants and pubs. Comfortable bed.

Loved our stay here. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Derek and Clare were very helpful and friendly and everything you would want from hosts. Thanks for having us.
