  • Lovely accommodation, very welcoming, super clean, stylish and great food.

  • Catherine's place is absolutely amazing - one of the best AirBnB's we've ever stayed at. There is so much attention to detail, from the food/drink items in the kitchen to the amenities in the bathroom. To top it all off the breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, granola, freshly baked bread, scrambled egg and salmon/bacon. We will definitely be coming back again soon!!

    Stuart2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A truly fantastic stay! Catherine was a fantastic host and the cabin was clean, relaxing and had everything you could need from a BnB! Breakfast in the morning was incredible and Catherine gave some great advise on things to do and places to eat out! It was great for a romantic weekend away and had everything we needed! Great location if the weather is nice and you enjoy hiking around Surrey / Box Hill but equally if the weather is bad it's perfect for just chilling inside and watching TV! All round great experience and would definitely return again!!

  • Wow, simply wow! This is such a fantastic place to stay. Catherine was absolutely amazing and went way above and beyond for our stay. We arrived earlier then check in and Catherine was not only able to accommodate us, but also ran us into town for our gin tour. The cabin, is stunning! With an nespresso machine, juices and milk in the fridge, fresh fruit, toiletries, hair dryer...just everything! The shower was excellent and the bed, oh my goodness... one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. Plenty of parking for my larger car, calming and plentiful grounds...and OH MY GOODNESS..... the breakfast was the best...THE BEST I have ever ever experienced! I cannot wait to stay again, I left so so happy, relaxed and well fed! Thank you Catherine for an exceptional stay!

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Surrey Hills. Near J9 of M25. Gatwick Airport is 21 mins by train into Dorking (Deepdene) railway station. Denbies Vineyard is near by. Area well known for cyclists. Comfortable and quiet surroundings. Relax for that important business meeting, or use as base for holiday or rejuvenating weekend in the countryside. There is a pub in the village.
Views of Surrey Hills, quiet road in cul-de-sac. Easy free parking. There is a single room downstairs and a double room upstairs, both with en-suites. The village is rural, but within reach of facilities in nearby Dorking (1.5 miles). No pets are on the premises, but being in a rural area you will encounter dog-walkers. Many of my visitors are doing the Pilgrim's Walk from Winchester to Canterbury. There are also several wedding venues nearby, notably Denbies Vineyard.
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by land belonging to National Trust or Surrey Wildlife Trust. Near to Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre. The market town of Dorking is renowned for antique shops. There is one pub in the village, The Stepping Stones, and two pubs, The Running Horses and King William IV in the next village (Mickleham). There is also a café and restaurant at Denbies Vineyard.
  • Perfect place to stay for a weekend in and around Dorking.

Nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills and surrounded by ancient woodland, we have created a really peaceful space, ideal to use as a base to explore the countryside or perhaps as part of a work trip. The accommodation is in an annexe which is detached from the main house so you will have your own privacy with a separate entrance. There is a brand new, super comfy double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and loo. The view from the bed looks out over gardens and the beautiful woods.
There is a brand new bed in the Studio with an ensuite bathroom which includes a shower, loo and basin. There is a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. We will bring your breakfast to you in the morning - you can use the in-room table and chairs or perhaps enjoy it on the private patio when the sun is shining. Guests also have access to WiFi and Netflix. We have a lovely garden and guests and are very welcome to find a quiet spot to relax. Since we are in some of the best mountain biking terrain in the country, we can store mountain bikes securely.
The property is situated in the middle of the Surrey Hills in an exceptional rural location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are in prime walking territory - a footpath leads straight out of the house all the way to the top of Leith Hill which affords some of the finest views in the south of England. Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill are also close by. Alternatively, take a short stroll through the woods to the millpond at Friday Street where you can enjoy a local gin or beer at The Stephan Langton.
  • Miles and Polly are exceptional hosts, and went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. Best Airbnb hosts I’ve come across, without a doubt.

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Miles and Polly were incredible hosts and the place was perfect for our weekend away. The studio was sparkling clean when we arrived and there were plenty of tips/ helpful recommendations for walking trails, pubs, and things to do in the area. They were such a nice family who made us feel at home on their grounds while still offering us the perfect amount of privacy in the studio. Would highly recommend and hope to come back one day!

    Jillian2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Miles was the perfect host. Really friendly and helpful. The space was great, very clean and quiet location. Great pub for food just down the road. Lovely.

    Vanessa & Philip2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Miles and Polly's home is the perfect countryside escape for anyone looking to relax and breathe in some fresh air. Super comfortable bed, pristine room, yummy breakfast, and incredible hosts! Miles greeted us and was so helpful in showing us around, giving us ideas for places to go for lunch / dinner, and even helped us plan the rest of our weekend. He was readily available if we needed any help, but we also really enjoyed the perfect privacy of our little studio. The ideal balance! The surrounding area is full of great walks through woods and fields -- we highly recommend taking a nighttime stroll through the forest to the pub for a pint!

Get cosy on the leather sofa in front of a wood-burning stove in this stylish conversion of a traditional barn in the woodlands of Surrey Hills. With beams overhead, a dining room and open-plan kitchen, this versatile space is a slice of rural idyll.
Ancient timbers, beautiful brickwork, a vaulted ceiling, old Persian rugs on a stone floor , comfy leather sofas in front of the log-burning stove – just some of the charms awaiting you in the Barn at Logmore. It’s a big, versatile space - a dining room, a library, a snooker room, and sitting room all in one. The compact open plan kitchen is fully equipped. And each of the three beautifully furnished bedrooms, (one downstairs, two upstairs) has its own private bathroom or shower-room. But that’s just the beginning of the Barn experience. Walk outside to find our medieval farmhouse, built in 1464, and you’ll discover you are surrounded by farmland and the amazing woodlands of the Surrey Hills. With nothing other than horseriders, walkers and the odd cyclist passing by, Logmore is a rural escape where you’ll meet a host of wildlife, from our very own doves and bees, to badgers, ducks and deer, and even a family of enormous carp in our pond. It’s a different world, a rural idyll, yet so close to Westcott village and busy Dorking town.
With no traffic other than horse riders, walkers, and the odd cyclist passing by, you’ll meet a host of wildlife and be surrounded by beautiful meadows, woodlands, and ancient villages to explore.
  • My friends and I had a wonderful weekend in Richard and Gay's home. Would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a quiet weekend in the country!

    Gudrun2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully presented home in such a peaceful location. The log burner got a lot of use on our February visit!

  • Wonderful place! Beautiful location!

    Marisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for having us for a great weekend away. We really appreciated the roaring fire when we arrived.

    Sonia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and relaxing weekend stay. Richard and Gay were wonderful hosts: very kind, friendly and thoughtful. The converted barn was warm and cosy, tastefully decorated and spotless. The kitchen is kitted out with useful utensils and the beds were very comfortable too. The local area is beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely walk thanks to Richard and Gay’s recommendations. The nearby pub The Plough serves excellent food.

    Tessa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • the host were the nicest people we've ever rented a home from. they were nice enough to give us a tour thru there home which was built in the sixteen hundreds. i recommend staying on this property

    Kenneth2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay - the barn is full of character and very comfortable, it was cold during our stay but the barn was very cozy and the wood burner topped off a great atmosphere. The setting is heart stopping beautiful - looking out the windows to the horses on the field, ducks in the garden pond. Location was close to Dorking - which has everything you need - with lots to see in the surrey hills. Finally, the hosts Richard and Gaye, were wonderful - very welcoming, responded immediately to a small request we had, and made us feel like home. We loved it and have 2 return trips booked for spring and summer next year.

    Neil2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay here, the area is very beautiful and there is a lot to do. The house itself is very cosy, and very nicely decorated. It even has a fireplace that Richard and his wife showed us how to use. We hope to come back again one day!

Hi we are a small family living in the heart of Surrey in a picturesque cottage with a small menagerie including Horses, cats, dog, ducks and fish. Our chalet is fully equipped and suitable for small families. We also have a travel cot.
A quaint self contained chalet, double glazed and warm for all year round enjoyment.
It's a quiet rural area with lots of lovely walks and rides. There are some lovely pubs which serve nice meals which we can drive you to (if available) or you can walk to in less than one hour. Our favourites are The Punchbowl, Scarlett Arms, The Parrot and Gatton Manor (in no particular order).
  • Expect a warm welcome, with all you could need in the cottage and a little extra too. Idyllic setting with a pond and ducks, and horses in the neighbouring field. A beautiful country experience. Many thanks!

    Cecilia2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little chalet/ outhouse. Serene environment with ducks, cats, dogs and horses. Eating out requires driving for a few miles. Eating in and cooking you only have hob and microwave. No oven. Dean was a typical friendly and laid back Aussie.

    Duncan2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Came across this little gem a few days ago. Decided to book after viewing pictures. Deans communication prior to booking and during the stay was excellent. Great host! The chalet was great! Warm, cosy, unique and a lot of little extra touches made it a great stay! Will look to rebook around summer to really appreciate the beautiful setting it is in. Thanks for being such a great host!

    Navdeep2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing - such a lovely host! Went above and beyond to cater for us. Offered suggestions for walks, gave us a lift! So kind. Thanks Dean and Family - we would definitely stay again

    Emilia2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This property is as described and illustrated. It suited our needs just fine. It is situated in a beautiful location on the Surrey Cycleway. Ideal for exploring the local area. We visited during a period of heavy rain and local floods but had no issues accessing or using the property. Recommend the chalet if you are seeking an honest value for money place to stay.

    Richard2019-12-23T00:00:00Z

Rose is a wonderful host & her thoughtful touches make this place so special. We opted for the breakfast to be included at just £5 for each of us and it was so plentiful with pastries, jams & honey, cereals, yoghurt juice and delicious hot coffee. • My partner and I stayed here this week having looked for a countryside break. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, and the hot tub and log fire are both perfect, no matter the season. The cottage was sparkling clean and decorated so nicely. The loveliest touch on our arrival was the welcome basket left by Chris and Tracey. It had so many lovely things in and the fridge was stocked with sausages and bacon, milk and juice. It was absolutely lovely. We spent our days walking round the local area including around the farm itself. It was also lovely interacting with the friendly cows. Such a lovely place, couldn’t fault anything; without a doubt my favourite Air B&B I have stayed in.

    Charlotte2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Newdigate. The cottage was amazing (the hot tub being a particular highlight) and despite the weather, we had a lovely time walking the many local walking routes and exploring the village. Plenty of good recommendations for places to eat with a very thoughtful food/drink hamper provided on arrival, we would highly recommend you stay here!

    Ben2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing weekend away! Chris was an exceptional host from the beginning to end. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the hot tub was a perfect addition to the beautiful cottage! We also loved waking up to the highland cattle strolling around! Thanks again and can’t wait to come back! 🥰

    Lucy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place is beautiful; ideally located with stunning surroundings. A wonderful welcome hamper was available upon arrival with really thoughtful touches - we were so grateful! Plenty of recommendations by the host and the cottage was spotless, and the hot tub made all the difference. (Despite us being there during a storm!) The only downside (not being a bath person) was that there was no shower, and the window in the bedroom didn’t quite shut properly, which wouldn’t have been an issue at all but because Storm Dennis was in full force it made the wind seem extra loud..! Would still recommend the cottage to anyone - such a lovely, relaxing weekend in the perfect setting.

    Jennifer2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully relaxing, comfortable and cosy. A great place to stay & a lovely weekend.

    Rupert2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived at Apple Tree Cottage it totally exceeded our expectations. The welcome hamper, the homemade bath salts, the log fire and the jacuzzi were all perfect touches to a magical weekend on this tranquil farm. It's all of the small touches that makes this place so special.

    Luke2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing weekend we have just had! The cottage was spotless and every details thought of. The hamper was an added bonus! The fire and hotub really were great too. The bed was sooo comfy we have bought the same one ourselves!! Thank you for a lovely break away!!

    Rosie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hospitality in a beautiful setting. We couldn’t have asked for more from a relaxing three night break (except staying another night!). The cottage is stunning, as was the lovely hamper that awaited us upon arrival. We loved the walks with our dog and taking the boat out onto the lake. Perfect for a mini break.

Dorking is a historic market town set in the heart of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to Box Hill, Leith Hill, Ranmore, Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey Hills Brewery and much, much more. Particularly since 2012, when it was on the route of the Olympics cycle race, Dorking has become a magnet for cyclists that want to take on the hills and enjoy the landscape. It is also extremely popular with walkers for the same reasons. The town itself has a rich variety of pubs and restaurants, as well as many independent shops. West Street is particularly popular for its antique shops. There are countless walks on our doorstep or just a short drive away and we've provided a selection of routes in the apartment.
  • Lovely apartment in a great location. The apartment is a short walk away from Dorking town centre. We stayed in the apartment for 1 week and it was our 3rd Airbnb that we stayed in while we had to move out of our house for home improvement work and the nicest of all. Having a separate bedroom made the stay much more comfortable and access to Netflix was a nice touch. Ideal for a short stay. If you wish to stay for a longer time please bear in mind that there is no oven or hob and no washing machine in the apartment, although the host allowed us to bring our own portable hotplate which was really appreciated.

  • The apartment is very comfortable, good heating, good bedding, TV with Netflix ... And also some appreciable attentions like fruits, bread and jams for breakfast. I had a good time with Paul and Sarah

    Guillaume2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here to visit family in the area and it was once again a fabulous one! Spotless, exceptionally well equipped and appointed, it's an ideal base. We loved being bbc able to watch a film on Netflix one night. This time we followed some of the recommendations in the information folder and had a curry and a pint locally - brilliant! The apartment really is conveniently placed. We'll definitely be staying again.

    Sue2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute we booked to the minute we checked out everything about our stay was perfect. The apartment is clean, in an excellent location and Paul and Sarah are so thoughtful with their personal touches and ease of communication. They truly go above and beyond to make the time in their apartment comfortable.

Extremely comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed for a few days stay. After sharing pics online, all of our friends we’re asking for the link to book their own stay! A massive bonus that the cabin is dog friendly and some amazing country walks on the doorstep. We will definitely be back.

Awaken in a modern white iron bed in a room within the rustic stone walls of a former farm building. This cosy cottage has a well-equipped kitchen and dining room with oak beams and a cosy sitting room. Two further bedrooms are nestled under sloping ceilings in the attic, so may not be suitable for the very tall or those with limited mobility. Outside there is an attractive garden with a table and chairs for alfresco dining and plenty of space for parking.
The barn sits in the old farmyard which is now an attractive courtyard garden, with lawn area and table and chairs for alfresco dining. The courtyard is adjacent to the owners’ listed home. Many miles of open country and woodland of The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surround the property. The area is ideal for walking riding and biking and although quiet and rural enjoys easy access to Westcott village, and the historic market town of Dorking. With easy access by train to London, and good road access to the South of England and coast, the property is ideal as a base visiting this part of England.

  • We stayed at the Barn for a girls’ weekend away from the busy London life and it was wonderful. Chris was friendly, easy to reach and quick to respond beforehand to help with our arrangements. The Barn was well equipped, spotless and decorated in a homely, warm and welcoming style with fresh flowers and Welsh Rock cakes as a welcome treat. Thank you Chris, we had a lovely stay.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The barn is extremely cosy and comfortable. We all slept really well, comfy beds and linen. Our boys loved the delicious rock buns left on our arrival. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the barn and will definitely return when revisiting the area. It’s a home from home! Thanks Laura, Barry and the boys.

  • This place is a must-stay! If you are looking for a charming and quaint countryside resting place, this is it. Near enough to all the essentials (rental car, grocery store, etc.) and the surrounding area is beautiful with many walking opportunities. This place couldn’t be any nicer- would be great for a family but there were just two of us to enjoy the whole space!

    Erin2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful stay at this lovely barn conversion. It was the perfect, relaxing end to several weeks of travel. Chris and Nicola were the kindest hosts, with home baking on our arrival and help with any questions and requests we had. We simply cannot recommend this property highly enough and thank them for a wonderful stay :)

  • Enjoyed this place so much that ended up staying for longer; it's an oasis, with nature right on your doorstep (and outside the balcony doors and windows!). There have been birds abounding, from blue tits to woodpeckers, and it's incredible to be able to sit and watch them as opposed to a laptop screen! A true way to reset. What makes The Oaks the most special is the exceptional hosting; Emma has been so prompt with everything and exceeded our expectations in taking care of the space for us. I confidently recommend staying here to anyone.

    Nicola2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Emma as a host is really fantastic - she listens and wants to accommodate and make sure you have the best possible stay at The Oaks. The place is beautiful, secluded and peaceful. We've stayed long-term here and have found it to be a truly cosy little home. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Warm and newly refurbished holiday let with excellent facilities, set in the Surrey Hills and near to Leith Hill. Perfect base for hiking. biking, riding or just to get away. Open plan area with kitchen, table and chairs, small settee ladder to mezzanine level with sofa (sofa bed) and chair. Good size bedroom with queen size bed, some drawers and hanging space. Modern bathroom with shower. Ample parking. Good local pub within walking distance and several others a short drive away.
As we have our own horses at the property any dogs visiting would have to be on a lead when outside. We could have the facility for visitors to bring their own horses but this would have to be by separate negotiation.
Forest Green is a small village and a perfect base to explore Surrey Hills Area - walking, cycling or riding. Our local pub, The Parrot is within walking distance and there are many other good places to eat in the area. We have a local Farm Shop which has an excellent range of fresh meat, vegetables and cheese plus necessities, such as bread and milk and other gooodies to temp you. We are a short distance by car to Dorking, Horsham, Guildford, Gatwick and M25. Good rail links to London from Dorking Station. As we are fairly central to the above towns the property could well be suitable for those wanting a base when working in the area during the week or on training courses.

It is nice to be near the horses in their stables and enjoy a lovely rural setting. I would definitely return. Marion was lovely too. She left me to it, but was super responsive if required and was very kind to change the linen. Many, many thanks,

The Surrey Hills has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England. It has so many beautiful villages and countryside. We are fortunate to be located in the heart of the Surrey Hills, with so much right on our doorstep and all within a few miles of the house. Enjoy exploring Westcott and other charming chocolate box villages featuring churches over-looking village greens, quaint cottages, historic houses, idyllic pubs and pretty tearooms. Shere, just a 10 minute drive away is so beautiful and quintessentially English, it has featured in a number of blockbuster films such as The Holiday, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Bridget Jones – the Edge of Reason. With its quaint little cottages, medieval streets and waterside setting, this picture-perfect village looks like something from a story book. After you have explored the villages, hit the hills! Just a few miles away from our house is Leith Hill where you can enjoy an awe-inspiring, 360 degree view of the scenic highlights that make Surrey such a fabulous place to visit. The highest point in the South East, offering views that extend to London in the North and the Channel to the South, with far reaching woodland and green open spaces in between. On a clear day it is claimed you can see 14 counties from its summit. Box Hill, just 2 miles away has been a famous destination for day-trippers from London and more recently as a cycling destination during the Olympics. Newlands Corner just 7 miles away with its commanding views offers a great spot for a picnic. We are also well placed for visiting a superb selection of well preserved stately homes, many of which form part of the National Trust, including Polesden Lacey and Hatchlands Park, both just 15 minutes drive away. Activity-wise we have a fishery a 5 minute walk away and you can also fish in the Tillingbourne down the road. You can hire a bike from a shop a 5 minute stroll from the house and see why Westcott is one of the most popular places in the country to cycle. Golfers there are two golf courses just 5 minutes by car. Budding chefs, there are two cookery schools located within a few miles. Denbies Vineyard, Britain’s largest, is just two miles away as well as two gin distilleries and a craft brewery where you can sample beers the moment they are ready! Parents we have a great park, a 5 minute walk from here with zip wire, football goals, trampoline, skateboarding ramp and playground. There is an indoor pool 1.5 miles away. Chessington World of Adventures theme park is 15 minutes away by car. There is so much you can do here, you just need to find enough time to do everything!
  • We loved staying here. Linda is really welcoming and helpful. We had a pregnant friend with us and Linda went above and beyond to make sure we were really comfortable and looked after. The place is lovely. There are two good sized rooms with very comfy beds (and there's a spare pull out bed if need be). There's all sorts of little thoughtful extras...like different pillow options! And theres a little cubby with a microwave and fridge and drinks facilities. There's a small communal area with beautiful views out to the hills. It's really quiet there too. The village is set around a main road (but the house is well off it), but that makes it easy to get to and there's a pub that does lovely food nearby. And we went for a fantastic walk right from the door. Finally, the breakfast was great and Linda will bake you fresh bread!

  • This was so wonderfully peaceful and comfortable. We have 3 children and Linda had thought of everything. I cannot think of anywhere I have slept as well! Breakfast was spot on and everything is immaculate.

An hour south of London lie the Surrey Hills, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. English countryside at its best for nature-lovers, walkers, cyclists, traditional pub-goers. Set in protected woodlands, on the grounds of The Old Barn, a Tudor barn conversion, the Blue Barn was built as an annex housing garages and a studio apartment, complete with a separate kitchen, laundry and dining area. A one acre meadow is available for picnics, barbecues and outdoor relaxation.
Solid oak floors, cosy and warm. Recently refurbished with hotel grade beds that can be made up as a king or two twins. Sofa bed also available. Full kitchen with boot hall, dining area and laundry.
Extraordinary location set in beautiful forests with views of the South Downs. Excellent foodie pubs nearby. Stunning National Trust properties to visit in the region.
  • Anastasia's home sits in wonderful grounds. The room is cosy and warm. Slightly awkward that the kitchen and associated facilities are accessed through the outside of the house. The hot water for the shower was not sufficient for two people to take a longer shower, but all the facilities themselves were great. I would stay here again!

  • We had a great stay here. Stunning location, very peaceful and access to some lovely walks! Would recommend.

  • Lovely little place perfect for a weekend break to explore the countryside. Very cosy but spacious too. Kitchen has everything you need to cook but there's so many amazing pubs nearby you probably won't need to!

Hi, I'm Sarah. I live here with my daughter in the pretty village of Brockham. The accommodation is an attic room at the top of the house on the second floor, sorry no lift! It has a sloping ceiling on one side, with a Kingsize bed, a wardrobe and drawer space, chair, bedside tables, lamps, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. The bathroom, with a powerful shower, is for guests use only and is next to the bedroom. I provide linen, towels, soap, shower gel and shampoo. Downstairs there is a dining room, kitchen, and a sitting room that looks out onto the small garden with a patio, table and chairs. You are welcome to sit in the garden, have breakfast there if you wish, and use the sitting room. I provide a Continental style breakfast with various teas, coffee (cafetiere) fruit juice, cereal, jams, bread (toaster) croissant and fresh fruit. I am happy to try to provide for any special diet requests. Brockham is about 30 minutes from Gatwick by car. If I am available I am happy to collect from, or take to, the station, or into two of our local towns. There is an hourly local bus to Dorking and the train station, and on to Guildford, or, in the other direction to Redhill. Trains to London also run from Dorking and go into Victoria or Waterloo. We are also near to the M25 motorway and overlooked by Box Hill on the North Downs.
Brockham is a pretty village with a village green, butchers shop, chemist, village shop, pub and gastro pub. There are lovely walks and a children's play park close to the house It lies at the foot of Box Hill which is part of the North Downs and where the Olympic cycle race took place. There are two nice towns nearby, Dorking is a market town (Friday morning) and has a number of antique shops, supermarkets and individual shops. It is 3 miles away. Reigate, is 4 miles and has boutique shops, a lot of cafes, restaurants and a wonderful big park with a very large children's play park in it. If you have no transport, and I am available, I am happy to take you to either place and collect again later. Cars can be parked close to the house and are off the main road. If you have transport there are a number of historic houses and gardens within easy reach and the coast is just over an hour away.

  • Once again Sarah couldn't have been more kind or welcoming. Her extra touches and personalised service made this working trip a good experience. Her breakfasts are amazing, catering to my personal tastes and set me up for the day. I couldn't recommend Sarah's place highly enough.

    Hilary2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb stay, and I can't recommend Sarahs lovely house highly enough. The house is immaculate but homely, and every possible thing to make the stay a pleasure is provided. The room has tea, coffee and treats, and the breakfast would put most hotels to shame. Sarah is a wonderful host and does everything possible to make your stay a pleasure. She even kindly ran us up the road to the party we were attending as it was raining. I can only say that if you have need to stay in the beautiful area around Brockham , make sure you stay at Sarahs house. You will enjoy it.

  • We’ve just had another lovely stay in this extremely comfortable and homely barn. Great size bedrooms and a fabulous open living, eating area with a log burner. It was just perfect for our needs. The local area is very pretty with great walks from the door. If you can tear yourself away from this cosy place The Parrot Pub is very nice with great food and a 5 minute stroll away as well as other very good pubs only a short drive away - The Royal Oak at Holmbury and the Stephan Langton Inn at Friday Street. Nigel is a fabulous host and is always on hand to advise or help out if needed.

  • A beautiful spacious barn with a wonderful host. The log burner was such a warm welcome.

    Hayley2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in Surrey, lovely homely and cosy barn conversion, perfect for two couples with two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. Plenty of places to visit and eat, or perfect for self catering which is our preference. Nigel is a brilliant host, very friendly and welcoming- the wood burner was roaring for our arrival, wonderful on a chilly December day!!

    Nicola2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely barn in a perfectly quiet location. Nice a secure with electric gates. Very warm on these cold winter nights and a lovely log burner. Everything we needed was there. Kids had a great time.

    Luke2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. The barn is spacious and in a secluded spot, next to forest and fields and in walking distance of a great pub - The Parrot. Nigel, the host was really helpful and welcoming and had the fire lit for us when we arrived. It was a perfect place to stay and explore the Surrey Hills/North Downs and surrounding villages. We didn’t want to leave.

    Kathey2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is a beautiful location with everything you could need. The design is great for socialising. The place clean and extremely presentable. Nigel was very communicative throughout the booking and upon arrival everything was friendly and made so easy. The local pub was recommended to us and we enjoyed a fantastic evening in there. The barn would make a great stay for those looking for dog friendly. We would stay here again when in the area. Fantastic value for money. Thank you Nigel and Sue.

Even though it was raining most of the weekend, we were cosy & warm in the cabin and had everything we needed to have another wonderful stay. We truly adore it here and can’t wait to return next year!

  • Absolutely lovely stay in the prettiest of locations, great little touches with many things to do in the area. Great communication & help when needed. Warm and very cosy, with a super comfortable, large bed. The Hut has so much charm! We are totally looking forward to staying again.

  • Fiona and Janice have a beautiful place- wonderfully restored and just what you need to recharge in the countryside. Loved it here- wished we were there for longer and the small touches really made a difference. Can't reccommend highly enough.

    Dan2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay in this beautifully restored shepherd’s hut. It is so cosy inside and the bed is really comfortable with the addition of an extra quilt as a sheet. The facilities are just as beautiful and well kept with all the appliances you could need for a break away. Our hosts even helped us out with a spanner so we could take our bike wheels off for transportation. A lovely little break away!

    Louise2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had the most beautiful weekend staying at the Shepherds Rest. It was so nice to kick back & slow down, especially as we both work in the city. Fiona & Simon were so welcoming and really made us feel at home. We loved all the thoughtful touches; like fresh flowers in the kitchen, boardgames, maps of the local area & the mini torch we used for getting back and forth to the hut etc. We'll miss our evenings spent sitting by the fire, listening to music with scrabble & hot chocolate (and a glass of wine or two!) whilst roasting marshmallows. It was the perfect location for exploring the local area, we ventured out to Box Hill for hiking and visited the local vineyard during our stay, we also found the short walk to the pubs very handy. Would love to go back!

    Beth2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Shepherds Rest. The shepherds hut is well finished and really cosy. The kitchen and bathroom area are well furnished and we loved the breakfast food that was available. Fiona was very welcoming and a brilliant host - giving us recommendations for the local area. The Surrey hills are excellent for walking and we had 2 superb meals at local pubs. Would highly recommend!

Groom’s self contained accommodation in the corner of a working livery yard. The Plough Inn serving great food + village shop are opposite. Accommodation is a bed room, sitting room (including wood burner) + small kitchen and shower room. Good for exploring the Surrey hills by bike / on foot & for having a generaly horsey time. Our guests love the vibe generated by the breeding & training programme. We will facilitate close contact with the horses as much as possible. Basic but atmospheric.
You are in the corner of a working yard. Recently refurbished but with a basic kitchen. You will be very comfortable and certainly enjoy your stay. We are all very relaxed here! Best suited for 2 guests only.
This is a cheerful and welcoming little hamlet in the middle of the Surrey Hills AONB - the usual mix of young families, retired couples , commuters and homeworkers. We are surrounded by other villages, pubs, working farms and larger estates (both private and owned by the National Trust or Forestry Commission.
  • we stayed for 2 nights at Thoms for my boyfriends birthday and we absolutely loved it. Amazing hospitality and wonderful little place with bags of character and charm. Shop and pub situated right across the road so you never have to venture into Dorking centre. Great access to walking routes - couldn't ask for more. Thom was even lovely enough to pick us up and drop us off at the train station! - will be staying again!

  • Hulios House is a little gem, situated in the middle of a working livery it's a pleasure to be so close to the horses - with plenty of company from a host of friendly dogs too! An excellent spot for walking the Surrey Hills but also a peaceful spot. Thom is a great host who was at hand if we needed anything but also left us to our own devices. Many thanks for a great stay.

  • It was our second time staying at Thom’s and we had a lovely time. Thom’s place is an ideal ‘no-frills’ getaway with great access to Leith Hill and many other nature walks and trails. We would love to be back soon if he’ll have us!

  • We’ve had an absolutely lovely stay at Crockers. The rooms were very comfy, Thom and his family were very welcoming, and everything was simply great. We really enjoyed waking up and saying hello to the horses and dogs, and our dog had the best of time as well. The walks in the area are amazing and well indicated. Very recommended!

    Manuel2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for the weekend with our dog, first of all the livery is a great place to stay with the area for the dog to run about and were made to feel very welcome by Thom and the family. Walking in the area was great and getting lost in the forest tracks made for a lovely couple of days walking, local pubs were all great for food, drink and atmosphere.

    Steven2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thom’s place is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway from the city. The place is equipped with everything you need to be comfortable and the location can’t be beat. We spent three wonderful days with our dogs exploring the the National Trust walking trails right around the corner from Thom’s place. The local pub is wonderful, there are horses outside your window and you are surrounded by nature – what more could you ask for? Thom was a fantastic host and very responsive. Thanks again Thom!

    Dane2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of the stranger Airbnb's I've visited and loved it! A cabin literally in the corner of a stable yard, horses greeting you for breakfast. Thom was a perfect host, nothing too much bother. Myself and my gf stayed for 2 nights with our dog – weather was cold but plenty of heat in the cabin (+ fire) with a good shower. Basic but comfortable, space to cook and relax. Near some spectacular walks. Would visit again, for sure.

Accommodation has a small double bed, double wardrobe with draws, shared bathroom and kitchen, with off-street parking. The bedroom being at the rear of the house is quiet which means you will hear the birds singing. Warnham is a small picturesque village just outside Horsham which is three miles away. I work from home for some of the week so am generally around to answer questions and give travel tips.
The location would suit someone who prefers a quiet place to stay although there is easy access to night life in London and surrounding towns if that's what you'd like. Warnham has a local shop and butchers, two pubs (both serve food), hairdressers and gym. Horsham town centre is three miles away. Great conversation, and the company of her most adorable puppy/young dog, who is an absolute cutie, real character, beautifully behaved. Enjoyed my time very much and would recommend Anne's place to all.

This is a peaceful self contained rural retreat which is situated above a working livery. Chickens and ducks roam free in the yard! A great place to switch off and relax. There are lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. Ewhurst village is a short walk away and Cranleigh village is a short drive away. We are situated in the beautiful Surrey Hills - wonderful cycling country. We hope you enjoy your stay here.
This is an apartment with its own front door and lock key safe so you are completely independent to come and go as you please. The apartment has 2 double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen with a table that seats 4 and a living space with TV and log burner. The bathroom has a shower and no bath. During the day there are people coming and going as this is a working livery - there is always a friendly face to point you in the right direction!
Yard Farm Apartment is on a quiet country road, on the outskirts of the village of Ewhurst. The ducks waddle across the road and paddle in the puddles! Ewhurst is a quiet, friendly village and nearby Cranleigh has all the amenities you may want to use.
  • We had a great stay at Alison’s flat. Despite it being winter we were lovely and warm with the log fire and plenty of hot water. Great kitchen. Lovely beds. Nice to be in the quiet of the countryside. Alison was a great host who went the extra mile to help us with our requests. Thanks Alison

This single room is in a family home. It is 5 minutes walk from two railway stations and 10 minutes walk from the town centre. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs; a cinema/theatre and sports centre. Quiet location with off-road parking. WiFi.
A great place if you need to be in Dorking for work, leisure or an event. We are close to cycling and walking routes in the Surrey Hills. Your single room is private and upstairs. There is a separate bathroom and toilet upstairs and another toilet downstairs. You can have tea and coffee anytime. I will show you where things are.
It is quiet and private. A nice private road, at the end of a cul-de-sac. There is off road parking for 3 cars.

  • Absolutely great place to stay. "Location, location location" as estate agents say: Perfect location for every facility and convenience on the doorstep. Only a very short walk from not just one, but 2 railway stations! A variety of buses and a taxi rank at the slightly closer of the two, too. I also found a "convenience store" with good, reasonably priced hot snacks (within a petrol station) just a block away from the end of the road (corner of A24 / London Rd), also just a few minutes walk away. And Dorking town centre not very much further, either! And to top it all a great hostess in a clean and vibrant family home. Miranda's communication was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Miranda was quick with a very wel cuppa on my arrival, great attention to detail, helpful with everything I needed: nothing was too much trouble. Miranda is also very interesting to talk to; I was only there for a short, one-night stay, and only had time for an equally brief "natter" but I certainly got the impression she "knows her stuff", certainly where art is concerned at least. My own very meagre knowledge of art doesn't qualify me to judge, but her passion was clear and self evident.

    Michael2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Miranda’s many times. She is always very welcoming and the breakfast is lovely

  • Miranda is a super host and very nice person.I stayed there for a month. You feel like home and you can spend some time with a very lovely and friendly cat as well. Two train stations, bus lines and Tesco express are very close to this place. You can enjoy a variety of cereal at Breakfast. If you have plenty of time you can visit Surrey hills . I recommend this place for long and short stays.

  • We had a perfect (extended) stay at The Oaks. Emma is very warm and welcoming and a wonderful host. Loved the wildlife, the chickens, the sheep, even saw a woodpecker! The place is a great find. Thank you Emma.

    Frances2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma is a wonderful host and goes the extra mile to making everything run smoothly, ensuring a comfortable stay. The Oaks is a very special place. Lovely comfy bed, clean and stylish with lots of space, fresh flowers and lovely touches. We had a few hiccups with Wi-fi (mainly due to weather) and everything was sorted in super quick time. The grounds are lovely and we had several conversations with the chickens each day. Thank you for the fresh eggs too! Many thanks Emma and 5 stars all round, we would certainly book again.

    Frances2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • Robin was a particularly hospitable host, providing great cooked breakfasts and sharing fascinating local knowledge. He has built a beautiful home in an idyllic spot in the Surrey Hills.

    Andrew2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a connecting flight through Gatwick airport when all the flights in and out were cancelled, and we were stranded unexpectedly in the UK. All the hotels were booked, and we were worried we were going to be stuck sleeping in the airport with our 2 kids, after a 9 hour red eye flight from the states. We found this charming house that allowed instant book, and even though it was 10pm, we were able to book our stay. We immediately got message from our host, that it was fine to come, even though we had yet to find transportation. By the time we actually got a cab to take us to his place (with our massive amount of luggage), it was midnight. Our host helped the cab drivers find the house by phone, and met us outside to help us with our luggage. After we got that stowed away, he asked if we were hungry. We were, desperately. At 12:30am, he made all of us a delicious dinner and sat and chatted with us a bit. We finally made our way upstairs to the most amazing bath I've ever had in my life. The beds are very firm and supportive, the towels and bedding soft and luxurious. It was quiet, charming, and exactly what we needed. This is more of a B&B than an AirBnb. He made us breakfasts and dinners during our stay, for an extra charge, including a lovely bottle of wine, which we definitely appreciated. He raises his own meat on his little farm, so all the meat and eggs we had during our meals were from animals he raised there himself, and some of the best bacon and beef I've ever had. Relaxing and beautiful gardens to walk around and enjoy, amazing sculpture gardens, an old church, and lovely walking paths through the woods, are all within walking distance of his house. If this is what British hospitality looks like, I'm a huge fan.

  • Restfold is a very attractive traditional English country cottage set in very picturesque grounds. A very peaceful location. Robin was a friendly and helpful host, making recommendations for local eateries, serving excellent scrambled eggs for breakfast (using eggs from his own chickens) and serving us a nice dinner one evening.

    David2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Context - solo traveller seeking break from the city and time outdoors. Hollys cottage is an idyllic home away from home. There’s a spacious garden, and inside plenty of history, colourful decor and antiques to satisfy any history and art/ antiques lovers. There’s a thick blanket and electric heater in the living room perfect for cosy, quiet nights in. If you feel the cold, bring extra layers, however there’s plenty of extra bedding for toasty, restful nights’ sleep. The location is very convenient, facing the train station. There are plenty of walks, at the doorstep in all directions and plenty of maps to use whilst there. Plenty of well-marked walks for solo travellers. Holly was a warm and friendly host committed to making you feel at home and comfortable. She provided helpful advice and tips for planning walks and even lent a pair of waterproof socks when my trainers reached the end of their days. She was very accommodating with check in and check out times which helped make the most of the trip. I highly recommend staying at Catbells and look forward to coming again!

    Jayanti2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Holly is very friendly and helpful. Holly’s place is clean and cosy. It’s an ideal location for walking and has very easy access to the rail network.

    Simon2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • I came to Holly’s to take a break from London and get some time exploring the local walks. She is an avid walker herself and an absolute expert on the area. She gave me loads of great suggestions and took the time to show me the maps and point me in the right direction. When you stay here you get your own bedroom plus your own sitting room + TV to rest and relax at night. The place is literally across the street from the train station and it couldn’t be more convenient. My top tip for staying here is pick up groceries on your way to the place. There is a fun pub in nearby but little in the way of convenience shops or local grocers. Holly does make fantastic jam though and I probably helped myself to a little bit too much of it:)

  • Without a doubt this has been one of our best Airbnb experiences. Maggie and her husband own the home and welcome you into it like you're family. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and we felt right at home. The property is beautiful and within walking distance to the high street, pubs (don't miss The Queen's Head) and a grocer. You can also easily access the train stations with a 15-20 minute walk. There are snacks available in the dining room as well as a homemade and continental breakfast every day. A special shout out to Vicky for all of her help throughout our stay. She helps around the house and was so kind to our daughter offering her toys to play with and entertaining her many breakfast requests. Everyone was just so incredibly kind to us we couldn't have asked for more. A million thank you's for such a lovely stay.

That’s exactly the feeling you will have once you arrive at 5 Rose Hill. We had stayed at Garden Apartments that consists of spacious bedroom with attached living room. It also included small kitchen, full bathroom and separate shower room. Margaret prepares nice, generous breakfast for each guest. We usually had eggs, toast, yogurt, orange juice and of course, tea. Also a lot of items are accessible at all time during the day: milk, tea, delicious homemade cakes. We really enjoyed our stay and already thinking about coming back!

  • Such a warm, lovely place to call home for the last few days of our trip in the UK. The apartment was huge, bright, and warm. Breakfast was amazing, and there were all kinds of lovely walks around town and in the surrounding countryside.

  • The house is a perfect example of how houses on AirBNB should be: good accuracy, easy entry, easy check-in, perfect host, very good location, affordable, quiet area and big house with plenty of space. The house on itself is quite good due to the high standards that the host wanted to have in there. And the location is perfect for a little walk anywhere in the town centre. Antonio, the host, is very helpful and will try to help you as much as it is possible. I honestly cannot say anything negative about the house. Which is quite good per se. I recommend 100% this room as for a very good relation quality-price. You can even leave your car in front of the house, off road. Antonio, chapeau.

  • Really nice, modern, house right in the centre of town. There are lots of great places to eat nearby, and the host is very friendly and hospitable.

  • Antonio is not a perfect host, he is also very kind, passionate and happy person to share some time with. Was very helpful and responsive beyond merely hosting. Absolutely reccomended!

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers. Ground floor flat opening onto a pretty garden in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Direct access on foot and bike to beautiful walks and off road trails. Easy travel to London & local business centres. Pretty village with shops & pubs. QiT 4* In light of current COVID-19 please note that we always deep clean between lets, dismantle and clean the fridge, disinfect switches, handles, doors edges and frames.
The Garden Flat has spacious rooms with floors of solid oak or old quarry tiles; bespoke curtains and hand knotted rugs give a relax, elegant and comfortable atmosphere. Optical fibre broadband, Induction hob, Satellite TV and a heating system with 'Nest' thermostat, provide guests with hi-tech control of their environment. The kitchen is equipped with fan oven, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer (also line outside), microwave, kettle, toaster and lots of china and pans.
Westcott nestles in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) between the North Downs and Leith Hill. We are surrounded by excellent bike/horse trails and footpaths. Pretty markets towns of Dorking, Guildford, Reigate and Farnham are between 2 & 24 miles away. There are many National Trust properties a short distance away and some outstanding gardens including Wisley. The commercial centres of London, Crawley & Croydon can be reached within an hour out of the main rush hour and the coast is an hour away too
  • I spend on average around 150 nights a year in hotels, let’s just say I speak the truth backed with experience. Louise is an amazing host, her house is sensational, and what a location.!! We stayed for just over 5 weeks in Dormer Veen, we could easily cook fantastic meals and enjoy the space we had, which was shared between two work colleagues. No local hotel from the Marriot or Hilton comes close “I’m the highest members of both” for 5 years running.!! Very safe location, easy parking at the house, great for surrounding areas and access to central London. I would highly recommend this place to stay, very clean, very comfy beds, with all the amenities like home from home.. Thank you for your amazing hospitality.!

  • Louise is hands down the BEST long-term host that we could have EVER asked for. Her communication and hospitality are unmatched! She thinks of EVERYTHING to make the experience in her listing a memorable one. The listing itself was incredible! The location, the cleanliness and the amenities made us want for very little. Louise went above and beyond for any questions or requests about the listing and the beautiful Surrey Hills area. We would 100% recommend this listing and would absolutely book this location again.

  • A fantastic retreat, very quiet and relaxing.

  • Dear all, We have stayed a full week in the garden house of Louise and in one word it was a wonderful holiday. The large, fully equipped, private, apartment gave direct access to an amazing garden. A bakery is only a 5 minutes walk over a public footpath, Dorking itself only 15 minutes by bicycle over a very smooth cycling path without any traffic. The house is surrounded by miles of walking and cycling tracks. Good maps were available in the apartment. And in addition to all these qualities, the hostess Louise prepared us a very warm welcome, Hope to come back, Tineke

  • I felt at home the moment I arrived such lovely surroundings ! The flat was so well equipped I love to cook and really enjoyed the kitchen .The bed was by far the most comfortable of my travels so far , only wish I could have stayed longer .

  • Louise made us totally welcome from the first moment. We arrived late and she had made sure the place was warm with a welcoming light on and the surprise of the most delicious fruit cake sitting on the kitchen table. The Garden Flat was exactly as we expected with a great view to the lake. it was very comfortable with a lovely gas effect log burner and a brilliantly equipped kitchen...plus dry storage for me bike. Highly recommended.
