What I did not like was the fact I had to leave. Her location was a bright spot in London's rainy weather. I was visiting Europe for my first time and traveling solo. When I arrived at Gene's it was an extension of myself. She was warm, and quickly helped me to get settled. I was completely excited and comfortable with my surroundings. She gave me instructions on the house rules, which were reasonable. THE BED WAS AWESOME! I thought I was going to go see the sights but my jet lag had other ideas, I slept in this very quiet home and was able to walk a couple of blocks toget some Kebobs, Fish and Chips and Gene's favorite spot Maria's Kitchen a Portugese Restaurant. Make sure you try the Seafood on a Hot Stone, its amazing and reasonably priced. I want to come back just to enjoy her tropical oasis in the back yard when the blooms are at their peak. I would describe her home as cheerful. Hot Water and she provided a towel. There is a also a wonderful African Fabric store at the end of the block where I purchased several yards of exotic fabric. There is a Tesco Mini Supermarket with fresh fixings and the soup in the refrigerated section was AWESOME! You are also walking distance to a Pundland and Poundworld (like family dollar or dollar tree). I purchased a iPhone6 charger for $1 and they had power adapters. WIFI at Gene's was a good signal. Gene recommended that I buy an Oyster Card for transportation, it was well used. I purchased my Oyster card at the airport. I flew in from London Gatwick and the train ride was about 45 mins to Streadham Hill Station. You can walk from Streadham Hill train station if you do not have alot of bags. If you must take an UBER its roughly $7 USD for a 5 minute ride. She requests no shoes in the house, which was fine with me because the carpet and floors stayed exceptionally clean. Gene is a longtime resident and has some excellent tips on transportation and sights. I will definitely stay at Gene's again! Comfy, Classy and Cool!

Gene is a wonderful and very lovable person. I felt right at home in their house. Even before arrival she always helpful giving me information, I was able to contact with any question you. The stay was running perfectly smoothly! Gene has me even helped out in a small emergency, although it did not came to her position as hostess. She cares about their guests wonderful and I have closed during this journey into my heart.

I have to be quite often in London.But have to say, that was my best stay in London i ever had. Gene is a lovely host. The house and the room is clean. Streatham is a nice and calm area in southern of London, which is 15 minutes from London bridge or Victoria station by train. If u need any accommodation in London i would always recommend Gene's place.

This was a great place to stay. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and she was nice enough to put some croissants and juice in the fridge for us. It's definitely not next to all the things to see in London but it's kind of charming that way so you can see some of the more local things. It's a very short walk to the station and a few stops later you're in the downtown area. Janice is also very helpful with figuring out the rail system. Overall, a nice stay!

Trying not to be repetitive… Everything was great, exactly as described in the listing. Clean, cosy, warm. We felt welcome, and the neighbourhood is quiet, the street is with no traffic, we slept perfect. For sure next time when we are in London, we will stay again in this peaceful place. Janice and her family are absolutely AMAZING! They are such great people! They helped us out so much when we go there and were very informative. Unfortunately for us we went during the hottest days of England and it was a bit warm in the studio apartment. Fortunately for us though, Janice and her husband took care of it and was able to get air flowing through the apartment! Absolutely amazing experience and would definitely come back if we ever make a trip back to England. Just a side note, we have used airbnb three times now and Janice uses great detail in her listing. She makes her guests feel welcome and offers them guides to the area! We loved this!

We stayed with Janice and Brian for a little over five weeks and found our accommodations pleasant and convenient. The room was bright and airy, and just as described, with en suite bath (plenty of hot water), television, WiFi, and even a small refrigerator. The neighborhood is quiet, and only about a block away from cafes and local markets. Also a block away is the Streatham Common rail station, with trains to central London (Victoria and London Bridge) every few minutes. The Storeys were wonderful hosts, providing tea and coffee, toast, jam and cereal in the mornings, and kitchen privileges for lunch and dinner. Janice and Brian provided a wealth of information about London and the area. My wife and I came to view them as friends and hope our paths cross again.

What delightful hosts!!! Janice, Justin, Jamie and Jasper greeted us when we arrived. Janice was a wealth of information and help in using the trains for transportation into London. Such an easy 5 minute walk to trains from the property. Lovely apartment, great bed, super shower and fully equipped kitchen. Janice had stocked wonderful breakfast options. Would highly recommend this property.

What a wonderful stay with Janice! The apartment is ideally situated to walk the streets of London during the day and perfectly equipped to rest at night. The area is very quiet, the house of Janice is next to pubs, a large area and only 3 minutes walk from the station. Janice has thought of everything to make the stay pleasant, it is very welcoming and full of tips to help you discover the city. We loved our stay, and we do not expect one thing, come back!

Organising and staying at Miramda's listing couldn't have been easier. Miranda was very quick to reply and happy to accommodate our needs for the weekend. The house was done to a very high standard and fit 12 of us in no problem. Miranda was there to welcome us on arrival and had thought of all the finishing touches, she also sent a great information document covering all questions beforehand. I would definitely recommend!

The apartment is finished to a very high level indeed. I was completely inspired by the interior design and layout. There was 8 of us in total, including 3 couples and 2 children (1 and 6 years). We were welcomed by Miranda with s bottle of Prosecco which was quite delightful. We also desperately needed a buggy to get our youngest around and Midanda was able to accommodate us. Great house, very spacious. Lovely part of town!

We were made to feel welcome right from the start, with no question or request too much. The little touches to the house (shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms, free tea and coffee, prosecco for our hen do) all made the house feel extra special. The neighbourhood was fantastic - just a short distance to the centre of Brixton. Cannot fault the house or the hosts at all.

Miranda is a dream host! Super relaxed and welcoming... we had a big group staying and everyone was accommodated comfortably. Miranda was there when we needed her but otherwise left us to our devises. The house is stunning and we felt really comfortable - perfect for our special celebratory weekend. Top Notch.

The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Lovely park down the street and many stores to get food nearby. Brixton is a vibrant, fun and eclectic place. We had a wonderful time there and would love to come back soon!

I had a great moment at Francesca's place! The house is lovely (with a nice garden!) & the area quiet (and full of lovely squirells haha). The train station is very close to the house and Victoria station is only 30-40 minutes away. You can easily get to central Croydon by bus, there is a lot of nice shops on the main street. You can also use the bus to go to central London (I did it every day, it's cheaper than the train but much longer). Moreover, Francesca is a lovely, caring and very friendly host, I definetely recomand her place :)

The host, Francesca, made me feel very welcome in her home, which was kept very clean and tidy. She made every effort to make sure I had anything I may need while staying there and was a lovely lady to talk to as well. The room itself was very comfortable and warm with lots of natural light, as well as having a tv provided too. The house is located a little out of the centre of London, but in a very quiet location beside a nice local park and there are many convenient travel links(trains/buses etc.) nearby to get you into town within 30 or so minutes, should you be looking to do so. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend staying with this host as the room represents excellent value for money and Francesca proved to be the perfect host as well. Many thanks Francesca!!

Good value clean room with decent bad in quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the nicer parts of Croydon - Matthews Yard, Dog & Bull pub on Surrey Street market. Francesca is friendly enough if you don't bother her too much.

Francesca was a lovely host. The room and house were very comfortable. The house was in a very nice and quiet neighborhood near a wonderful little park with a pond. There was easy access to the train station via the 410 bus.

Sarah and her family were the perfect hosts for our three day stay in London. The room is very nice and clean and offers all you need to explore London - including a fine breakfast! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitivly book again at Sarah's.

Sarah and her family made us feel very welcome. The room is lovely, bright and sunny and a great size; in fact the whole house is amazing, very modern with all mod cons and spotlessly clean. It was great to have 2 dogs in the house as we were missing ours. There was plenty of information on how to navigate around and the bus into town was about a 10 minute walk away. This was our our first bnb experience and we can whole heartedly recommend staying at Sarah's.

What the pictures of this beautiful house are showing is absolutely true. It is very nice in a quiet residential area of London. Some minutes of walk to a bus station, some minutes more to a tube station. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of storage space (much more than I needed for 3 days) and a comfortable bed. The whole interior decoration is wonderful, the bath and shower are great, nice arts everywhere. Sarah and her family are very kind and helpful. I totally didn't miss a impersonal hotel staff.

Really Sarah is wonderful host, the house is still better than in pics, she provide us a lot of information on demand. She is so discreet and tactful.Bedroom so clean, nice and comfortable Breakfast so good, bathroom great, and his dog Archy, so nice. All the tips she gave us, perfect; the shops, market, restaurant, if she recomend it, did it. He is so sensitive, exquisite well-mannered and polite with guest. So all perfect. The only contra, but not important at all, is that is more than 12 minutes from Tube, and when you are all day walking around is too tired get home, but is so easy and highly recomended cross the street and take one of the 2 buses passing every 5 minutes, and after 3 stops will be drop 5 minutes from home :)). Anyway highly recomended place, and recomended host. Amazing place.

Everything about Sarah's place was fantastic. I booked a long stay for my mother and from the communication before arrival to the friendliness & hospitality shown by Sarah and her family (including dogs!) during the stay was fantastic. The room, bathroom and rest of the house is exactly as per the photographs; immaculately turned out, spotlessly clean and very spacious. This is the second time I have booked Sarah's room for visiting family members and everything was just as wonderful as last time. Sarah's house, the bedroom and private bathroom are exactly as per the description and photographs and Sarah and her family are extremely warm and welcoming. From the communication beforehand to advice during their stay, everything was perfect and I wouldn't hesitate in booking with Sarah again or recommending her place to others. And her beautiful little dogs are so welcoming and are just the icing on the cake!

We had a wonderful stay at Sarah's house. The whole family (dog included) is very welcoming and friendly, they are really great hosts!Sarah and Simon gave us a lot of information and offered their help regarding the transportation facilities and sites to visit in London. The house can be easily reached by busses and tubes and it takes about 30 minutes to the very center of London. The location might be a little drawback, but with all the help and advice they offered, it was absolutely no problem. We left the house in the morning and went back only late in the evening (which is no problem) and were actually happy to get away from all the trouble in the city in such a peaceful and green neighborhood! The room we stayed in was very cozy and stylish, the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom amazing (better than any hotel I ever stayed in). We would wholeheartedly recommend them and would love to stay there again.

Heidi and her partner were extremely welcoming and friendly hosts. I was offered a cup of tea as I entered her lovely Victorian home and was made to feel welcome instantly. The room is very very clean. It is attactively decorated in Heidi's style. It is warm, cosy and private. The bathroom is very well fitted-out with a super walk-in shower. Her 3-legged cat is a great character and does not disturb guests in the least. Breakfast is included with a selection of cereals, breads and drinks on hand in the well-equipped kitchen/diner. Altogether a great find for a single traveller...........I will return.

The room is gorgeous has a nice feel to it and its in my favourite town I love reigate you have to stay here just to experience Reigate. I didnt spend much time at heidi's as I went out and didnt get back until 11pm I had great plans to cook a nice steak and do a load of washing and ended up socializing. I had the best sleep, bed was really comfortable and pillow so nice to have a good pillow for a change. Room had tea and coffee making facilities which I appreciated too.

We spent a whole week in Debbie’s B&B and it was a great experience. She is a very nice person. She recommended us a few places to visit in London that were fantastic. She also picked up us from the train station and gave us instructions to go to the train station by walking. The house is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. As a summary, I would definitely repeat it here.

Our first airbnb stay and could not have been more delighted. Gorgeous, private double room apartment with own bathroom , lounge and tea and coffee facilities. What a fantastic find! Audrey and Joe were there to meet us and immediately made us feel welcome in their beautiful home. The accommodation was superb and offered its own lounge, bedroom and en suite. What more could we want. This was a perfect place for us, as were were visiting family close by. There was tea and coffee making facilities together with fresh milk and fresh fruit. The accommodation was of the highest standard and breakfast was wonderful. We sat with Audrey and Joe and felt like we were having breakfast with friends. We will definitely stay again.

We knew when staying here we would be outside of London central but we loved what we saw online and we're willing to make the commute in and it was definitely worth it. Mary is a great host, very welcoming and helpful and her house is stylish and comfortable. I stayed here as it was a good price and near the mainline to my workplace for the weekend. When I got off the train, it was a long walk up the hill, but there is a cab service from the station that I used afterwards. On arriving I wasn't overly impressed by the area, but once inside her house, I forgot about that. She has a very good sense of style that comes out in her decor. The room, as advertised, was small but enough as a single person. Bed was nice and comfortable and had fresh water and a small kettle.

A friend and I had a lovely 1-month stay with Jess and Adam at their charming, newly renovated home in Coulsdon. Jess and Adam were wonderful & easy-going hosts, who were able to provide lots of advice for public transport and things to see and do in London. A 30-40 minute overground train ride, depending on where you're headed, makes for an easy commute into central London. There are 2 overground train stations within a 10 min walk from the property. The town of Coulsdon is also fun to explore, and the main street with plenty of coffee shops, pubs, grocery, etc. is all within easy walking distance. We couldn't recommend this place more and would stay again in a heartbeat :-) Thank you Jess and Adam!

The room has a good space, it's clear and Victoria and her husband were excellent - They provided all support as I needed. The house is not so near of the train station and London town, but they have a fair price.

The location was easy to get to from Purley train station and so the rest of central London with 30 min. train journey, which it is great to be at London Bridge station ( The Shard ). The location is good since the bus stop is at the next street of house. Airy light room with comfy bed and nice bathroom. I was have a flight at morning, so didn't get to absorb as much of the atmosphere of the room and house as I would have liked, but it was a very good base for my adventures. The room is as spacious as it looks in the photos, clean, quiet, restorative shower, with amazing view. Easy walk to train station anyway Victoria's husband Tim took me to the station with his car.

We really enjoyed our stay in their house and loved the way they decorated their rooms. Glynn and Magalie were very kind, helpful in giving advice about routes and even gave us a lift. The only shame was the construction works and the kitchen which needed renovation. But they told us about it so I'm pretty sure it will soon look like the rest of the house. So if you don't mind that, go there! :)

These guys are incredible hosts! They gave us coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks. They even let us use their printer! Make sure you take the train into the Riddlesdown station though. From the Purley station, the house is a 20 min walk uphill :(

Magalie and Glyn were great hosts both very helpful with suggestions and talk able friendly couple. The room is a great size double bed super comfy. Walkable to trainstation that gets you into the city. Neighborhood quite and safe.

Great private room. Fit two people easily. Coffee and tea was provided which was a nice touch. Only downfall was the house construction that was going on, but as soon as that is finished the house will be wonderful. Public transit was very close to the house with 2 train stops and bus stops right down the street, but not close to central London. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend this to anyone that doesn't mind having to take a few extra minutes out of their day to travel to London.

We had a lovely two night stay. The house is absolutely beautiful and very clean. Furthermore, the room is huge and has lots of places for storage of your things. The bathroom is a good size and has a very nice shower. We highly recommend this host who have made it really pleasant and we look forward to returning.

My boyfriend and me spend the weekend at marinas house. It was very clean and absolutely like in the discription of the homepage. The way finding the house is quite easy and the walk from purley train station lasts about 10-15 min. this way we walked to reach london city with a 20min direct train which was pretty ok. The hosts are very friendly and waited for us till 11 pm becuase of flight delay. The room was fully equiped with bed-sets and towels. There was no house voices and with the quiet neighborhood a relaxed morning is guaranteed. thank you for the nice experience and i would recommend staying there. Helena & Thomas

The room was absolutely beautiful, very clean and exactly as in the pictures. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, I'd definitely recommend this place to someone who does not mind staying a bit further from the centre of London.

Marina and her family are absolutely lovely, We had such a warm welcome! From the offset they actioned our request quickly and efficiently and adjusted to our requirement of short notice and repeated bookings. The room is clean and hygienic with a lovely en suite which is private and luxurious in a relaxed atmosphere. We were made to feel at home straight away and welcomed to use the facilities in the rest of the house and then left to ourselves when myself and my finance needed privacy. The room is secure and felt safe to stay there alone. The local town has numerous restaurants and public houses available too! The transport links are excellent and within walking distance. The listing description for this accommodation is accurate and would highly recommend this as a perfect place to stay!

Nice, clean room, great for our one night with our two boys. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. :)
