Beachfront holiday rental in Pamlico Sound

We are repeat guests at Pook's Place, and we're always excited to return. The house, neighborhood, hosts, and location are all great. We'll be returning every year!

This home exceeded our expectations! The location of this home was just beautiful. The home itself was very roomy yet cozy for 2 families with 3 children to enjoy. It was also super clean. This Airbnb had the best equipped kitchen i’ve ever seen in a rental with plenty of good quality pots, pans, dishes bowls, various glassware for cocktails, and grilling tools. Even plenty of plastic dishes for kids, ziplock bags and plastic wrap! No detail was forgotten. There are plenty of areas to enjoy meals or just hang out inside the house , out on the deck or on the patio. I also wanted to mention there were plenty of towels, extra pillows and bedding for all 7 of us. I didn’t have any issues but reached out to Matthew to let him know we were very pleased with his home and he responded right away. Matthew’s home provided us with the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful family vacation in Emerald Isle and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Absolutely lovely and charming place a short walk from the beach. Perfect place to spend the Easter weekend. Dawn gave a very extensive list of recommendations in the nearby area as well without us even asking. Highly recommend this place!

We loved the house! It was a perfect spot for myself, three children and our pup. Very clean, well-appointed and spacious. The pool and ping pong tables in the basement were a perfect downtime activity. The beach is very short stroll and the restaurants that we could walk to made the location even more ideal. We hope to return soon!

I really enjoyed my stay. The cottage was cute and clean. There was a slight issue of the refrigerator not being cold enough when I first arrived but Whitney responded quickly and brought Ice for my cooler while the refrigerator got cold. Super responsive and friendly!

This home is in a great location! Quick walk to beach by way of side streets, large private lot and close drive Duck and Kitty Hawk. The house has all the ammenities and gated porch and deck made it easy to keep dog contained. By far this has been our favorite place to stay in the Outer Banks and we hope to come back soon! Nikki is a fantastic host that responds quickly and in a friendly manner. We absolutely loved this very comfortable home.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage was spotless, very clean, beds were comfortable, it was exactly how it is depicted and described. I needed a place to decompress after my dad’s funeral and this was just the place. I traveled with my German Shepherd and we were able to take long walks on the beach right across the street. The host was very responsive to any questions I had and communicated when the place was ready early. Would totally recommend.

My husband and I loved the cozy cottage by the bay. The view is absolutely breathtaking and it is quiet and private. It was the perfect getaway we needed. Violet is so kind and responsive. She knows all about what’s around in the area. We had everything we needed at the cottage. We didn’t have to bring sheets or towels which was a huge plus. Me and my husband had a great weekend! We checked in Friday and then Saturday drove down to Harkers Island to hop on the ferry to cape lookout where we saw the horses and Cape Lookout lighthouse. Afterwards we grabbed lunch at Fish Hook and then came back to Cedar Island and walked the Lola Road Trail. That night we went to Wild Wills Revenge for the prime rib dinner and it was the best prime rib we’ve had! It’s only 15 minutes from the cottage! If you’re looking for a quiet and slow weekend then this is the place to go. Be surrounded by friendly locals and the beauty of nature.

We had a great time ! Lovely comfortable home. Beautiful heated pool enjoyed by grandchildren in April. We had everything we needed for a great spring break. Thank you !

Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving week here. Jessica was extremely responsive before during and after our stay. The house had everything we needed, and there was room for everyone. It was great to be so close to the beach while also having a comfortable house where we could enjoy our Thanksgiving meal, games, movies, and family time together in.

This was the perfect spot for our two families! The house was very clean, there was plenty of pantry space (huge amenity for us!), room for everyone to spend time together and apart. The kids loved playing in the game room too. Communication was on point! Deanna really thought of everything. Thank you!

What a peaceful retreat this home is! With the sound out the back & a short walk to the beach, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac this home, with its unique architecture, is a perfect blend of feeling a bit remote without being isolated. Great space. Loved the heated pool and hot tub. Made some of the chilly weather feel amazing. Place was great and easy access to everything!

Great house that fit our large group comfortably. The listing was accurate and looked just like the pictures. It was a little too cool for us to get in the pool, but it would be awesome to have in the summer months. The beach outside the house is beautiful with great shells!

We enjoyed our vacation at this home very much. the description was accurate and the house very clean and well organized. We had to reach out to the host a few times and they were extremely responsive in a timely manner. The location of this house is awesome, grocery store and restaurants are just a short drive or walk. We enjoyed the 2nd story hot tub and the beach access was very convenient. The large recreational room on the 1st floor kept the kids entertained!! Overall, we had a fabulous week at this home and it was perfect for our large family.

My wife and I spent our Easter vacation at Penny's Oceanfront Oasis. It was our first time in Emerald Isle and we had a great time. Penny's beachfront home was amazing. It has great views of the ocean from the living/kitchen area and both bedrooms. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed for a great vacation. The master bathroom has a great soaking tub that my wife loved. Each morning before we went to the beach, we could see the dolphins swimming right from the bedroom windows. Also having the beach in your backyard was a dream come true. Thanks Penny for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Our stay at Timothy’s place was excellent. The weather was terrible during our stay due to a tropical storm, but the beautiful house made up for the weather. Timothy has thoroughly thought of every detail in the home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated. It has a great outdoor space. There were plenty of televisions to keep everyone happy given the weather. The hot tub is frequently serviced and clean. It has a very nice outdoor tub as well. The outdoor showers are beautiful and well designed. He has hoses on every level to minimize tracking sand into the house. We felt very relaxed. We would definitely recommend Timothy’s place. Very responsive host. Timothy definitely cares about his property and the comfort of his guests. We would come back and recommend this house.

This is a beautiful, serene, super clean home and the surrounding area is incredible. Talai helped us feel right at home throughout our stay and did a great job addressing a few minor hiccups that occurred due to a storm right before we arrived. Based on these interactions as well as the lovely, thoughtful touches throughout the home, really made me feel like this is a place where people have invested in a unique and beautiful space they really care about. It really stood out amongst so many airbnbs that, while clean and well-appointed, can feel a bit sterile. In short, I would recommend this place to anyone ! A note to future visitors that the walk to the sand is 5 minutes and there is also a very long sandy beach to traverse, too. It was fine for us but it's something to know if you're not familiar with the area, which has a wide beach.

Perfect location in a cute community. Easy walk right out to the beach, got to see gorgeous sunsets daily from one of many decks, and ample space on the interior to not feel like we were on top of each other. Justin is also one of the most responsive hosts, which we were so appreciative of.

We loved staying at Emily’s place! Our whole extended family was comfortable & we especially loved the kid room. The location can’t be beat!

Reese and Cayce were terrific hosts. Their home was exactly what we needed for a relaxing beach getaway. My wife and I brought our bikes and were able to easily ride to a number of local restaurants recommended by the host. Thank you again!
