In den Monaten März bis August kann man die gefährdeten Weißstörche in zahlreichen Nestern sowie auf Nahrungssuche in den Elbauen beobachten.

The unique natural landscape is very impressive and offers beautiful views of the Plauer. Nearest place is Alt Schwerin. It is a small village and has an agricultural museum, a shopping oasis with bakery, restaurants and a boat dock for steamer rides, which can also be easily explored by bike.
