Barn accommodation in Northeastern United States

The accommodation is very warm and lively: plants, inspired decoration, non-standardized furniture,... It's really very pleasant and nothing missing. Martine is a very welcoming and responsive host. And the very large property (woods, lake) offers a very nice environment for walks or just to disconnect from urban life. We really want to go back in the summer or fall!

Thank you Kaedra for creating such a lovely place to stay to get away. My husband and I stayed here after getting married at Fruitlands and Kaedra went above and beyond by decorating the room with fresh flowers and putting out some thoughtful poetry for us to read. She was incredibly kind and welcoming. The loft is full of charm and it felt like a home away from home.

This was my partner and I’s second stay at Rob & Janice’s cottage. It is a lovely and peaceful stay. They are wonderful hosts and the cottage is very cozy. Would definitely recommend anyone looking to go into Ptown to stay here!

We had a wonderful stay! It's such a beautiful and unusual cabin. It would be great for two couples as there are 2 equally great bedrooms that are quite separate, and a very nice sitting area around the amazing wood stove. (Which we didn't use because it's June and not necessary.) The hot tub was such a treat, and the bedroom with the boat was so cool. (OK, so maybe the bedrooms aren't quite equally great.) The kitchen is outstanding! We sat out on the porch a lot looking over the meadow, and I really liked that we were able to bring our dog. About the notes and instructions: they didn't bother us at all. There's a few non-intuitive features of the cabin, and it was useful to have clear guidance on those things. I want to make clear why I gave 4 stars for "cleanliness". I think they do an excellent job cleaning this cabin! But a rustic cabin like this is impossible to make "5-star clean". If you want or need that level of cleanliness, then "rustic" isn't for you! Go find a nice hotel.

Jessica's restored barn is amazing and one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had! The photos don't do it justice! The barn is unique and has the most incredible views! The sunset experience is A++, and the deck is the most serene place to have your morning coffee. The most impressive part is how clean the space is- I'm not sure how she does it! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need from a popcorn maker to a vitamix. There are spaces to sit, relax and nap in every corner of the house. It is immaculate, thoughtful, peaceful and comfortable. Bonus- if you love music, there is an insanely good CD & record collection. Jessica was so responsive to any of our outreach and we will 100% be back. *10/10 would recommend, this place is a total find!!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Wilderkill Barn. Maria Cristina and William were exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit special. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The home was a haven, with a hot tub, sauna, pool, fire pit, pool table, and immersive sound and movie systems—all of which made our stay delightful despite the cold, dreary May weather. We can't thank them enough. ***That said, we feel it's necessary to address a serious issue with Airbnb itself that arose while booking this property, unrelated to the property itself. An unexpected tax was added after booking, and Airbnb has yet to provide a clear explanation. After years of loyalty, we were disappointed by their evasive and unhelpful customer support. This experience has made us reconsider using the platform in the future. We urge potential users to scrutinize all fees carefully and be aware that Airbnb’s support may be difficult to navigate if problems arise.***

The barn was exactly what I needed for a few days away to reset. It is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could need. Julie is very intentional with the guest experience; the little touches made the stay even more wonderful. The location is perfect for access to everything Great Barrington offers, but you’re a little tucked away on a quiet, peaceful road. I loved the Old Red Barn and would recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

Emily’s place was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. Shopping for groceries is nearby. Their attention to detail was obvious. We appreciated the fresh eggs that were brought over upon arrival. We really enjoyed the ducks and chickens out back.

Great experience! 2 wineries within 1 mile. Close to great hiking. William, was very accommodating with check in & check out time. Would highly recommend staying here. Very cute , clean and comfortable with get amenities.

My husband and I stayed at Hannah's fieldstone suite for his birthday. It is super easy to find and even though it feels like you're in the country, its 10 minutes from everything you need. The pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful! Rustic warm farm feel with modern touches. My husband is a contractor so he noticed how well the renovation was executed and had some high end finishes. Great open space and the high ceiling made ìt feel alot bigger. Hannah was super quick to respond and happy to answer any questions we had. I do not have one bad thing to say about our stay. I highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it.

Our stay was amazing from start to finish. The barn itself was beautifully done—cozy, stylish, and spotless. You can tell a lot of care went into making it a special place to stay. The surroundings were just as stunning—peaceful, scenic, and full of character. It was the kind of spot that makes you instantly feel relaxed. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. We truly fell in love with the place and the area, and we’ll definitely be back!

A clean and minimalist place with a great view! I’d highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the Hudson valley. The location is within driving distance from several awesome towns and outdoor activities.

My friend and I came here over the weekend and it was the perfect escape from our city lives. the place was clean, easy to find, peaceful, safe, and everything else you could want from an airbnb. Barb was an amazing host who gave clear instructions and was super friendly and nice - she gave us a lovely tour of the farm and introduced us to her goats! We have 0 complaints. My stay is hard to review. Was looking so forward to this weekend getaway but was battle tested with sickness and terrible weather. Nothing bad to say about the listing just bad timing making it hard to fully enjoy. I would highly recommend this stay otherwise as it was definitely capable of providing what I had wanted. We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautifully converted barn in Essex, Connecticut. It was charming and full of artistic touches that made it feel both unique and inviting. The space was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, making it perfect for a weekend getaway with my kids. The location couldn’t have been better—tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet close to everything we wanted to explore. Communication with our host was seamless and kind from start to finish. We felt so welcome and comfortable and would happily return again. A real gem!

The carriage house had all the historic charm one could ask for with modern comforts and conveniences. The kitchen was fully stocked, bathroom spacious and super clean, and the bed cozy and comfortable. We loved watching the daily farm activities, meeting the cows, and savoring the local goods from the farm store. I wish we had brought less food with us—the farm store was stocked with salad greens, dairy products to your heart’s desire (eat the moon cheese!), preserves, and incredibly delicious sausages. All local, all worth sampling. My husband and I were both able to work remotely with the fast wifi. So glad we stayed here and hoping for a return visit sometime soon!

Was a perfect home for a week for 3 of us, close enough to Newport and the airport. Such a darling beach house in a lovely neighborhood, great restaurants nearby and our host listed suggestions that were amazing. Very quiet and cozy, definitely hope to return.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, restful place, this is it. The host, Donald, was there to greet us and give us some suggestions on where to eat, all close by. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The lake, which was right across the street, had kayak and canoe rentals. It was very picturesque.

I enjoyed my stay at the retreat. It is a quiet, serene environment. It is very private as long as no one is staying at the adjoining unit (and even if there is, the walls are sound-proofed and you don't hear a thing.) Rosalind was a kind and helpful host. She even brought me some computer paper when I ran out! I would definitely stay there again in the future.

We had an absolutely magical stay! The setting is straight out of a storybook—peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. Our toddler had the time of her life playing with the friendly farm animals, and it was such a joy watching her light up with every interaction. My wife is still completely mesmerized by the beautiful interior design—thoughtful, cozy, and inspiring in every detail. She’s already planning our next trip back! The hospitality was top-notch and the entire experience felt effortless and welcoming. Even though we missed the sunrise due to overcast skies, waking up early to the calm and quiet was still so worth it. This place is a gem—perfect for families or anyone looking to unwind in a uniquely special setting. Highly, highly recommend!
