Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

It has three double bedrooms each with shower room/WC, and air conditioning. Extensive facilities for outdoor living and dining ( shaded terrace, boulodrome, parking, and an electric vehicle charging point ) provide the perfect holiday haven.

It is an autonomous (solar energy) holiday home, 2000m2 of land without fences and without neighbours with a superb view. Composed of a convivial living room-kitchen, 2 bedrooms with shower room, plus a vintage caravan as 3rd bedroom for two additional persons. Vegetable garden, terraces, bar, plancha, WIFI, Sonos.

2 People only. On the banks of the Gardon, fully restored independent cottage with an area of 50 m2 in the countryside, shaded courtyard with independent entrance. Air-conditioned with a 160*200 cm queen-size bed. No neighbours opposite our house and only one rental on our property. In summer: from May to the end of September, 8 x 4 swimming pool, salt/heated, surrounded by flowers with a pleasant garden lounge. Old Farmhouse with pool & garden

This farmhouse from 1610, 1 minute away from Sommières by car. You will be in a peaceful setting with no street noise and a 9x4m pool to cool yourself on hot summer days. The garden goes down to the river where one can go fishing. From certain spots you can see the Chapelle Saint Julien from the XIth century as well as the château de Sommières. There is a brasero and a pizza oven outside to enjoy time together outside.
