Kid-friendly holiday rentals in New Haven County

There’s so much to love about this charming open plan beach cottage! We especially enjoyed the water views, hearing the birds, and eating on the breezy porch. It was sparkling clean and stocked with everything you’d need, from comfortable beds and towels to many thoughtful essentials like hand and dish soaps, tea and coffee pods, paper towels/toilet paper, and shampoo/conditioner. Eileen is a gracious and responsive host — she was particularly understanding when we had to reschedule our visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Eileen, and we hope to return!

I went to New Haven on an urban sketching trip and this was the perfect spot to stay! Very convenient to the Yale campus & everywhere else that I went. I walked to everything quite easily. My room was comfortable and the showers were great. I would stay here again for sure.

The pool house is so cute and the outdoor patio is gorgeous and the perfect place to relax. Great place to stay if you want to stay near New Haven but also want to enjoy quiet away from the city. Sue is a responsive and very generous host!

I hope it gets the recognition it deserves—but at the same time, it’s so perfect that a part of me wants to keep it a secret. Shelly redefines what it means to be a host—warm, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. From the moment I reached out, she was incredibly responsive and kind, even across different time zones. She made sure everything was ready for us with care and intention. My friends and I arrived to find a spotless, peaceful home that felt more like a retreat than a rental. There were small gestures throughout that made us feel welcomed and cared for—Shelly had anticipated what we might need before we even thought of it. Her warmth showed in every detail. From the moment I was greeted, I was taken care of. I also received a welcoming gift upon arrival! Donna was kind, responsive and made me feel at home, and that I was comfortable.The place was spotless, clean bedding and bathroom was super clean, nice dining area to eat in the kitchen and fully stocked with any items you may need. I traveled with very little clothing but didn’t have to worry due to the convenience of a washer and dryer, which was easily accessible. This home is also in a very quiet neighborhood. Thank you for Donna for such a pleasant experience!

Noel’s third floor apartment is light-filled, spacious, has a cute rustic vibe and is perfectly located. It’s across the street from East Rock Park (great for walks and runs) and walking distance to restaurants and an ice cream shop. The entrance to the apartment is through Noel‘s home – – no private entrance. Parking was incredibly easy—right on the street in front of the house! We enjoyed our stay very much, especially thoughtful touches like breakfast muffins and coffee. The apartment is full of interesting books and games and is very comfortable. Noel is a helpful host.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Barbara’s beautiful home! From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The house is full of charm and character, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true home away from home. The location was perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to everything we wanted to explore. We especially loved the cozy fireplace, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Barbara & Patty were incredibly responsive and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. This was our 3rd time staying here and we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway. We’d definitely love to return in the future!

The apartment is amazingly quiet and peaceful even though it is highly walkable to Wooster Square, Yale, several great coffee shops, etc. The beds are comfy, and the kitchen/living room spacious. It was also very useful to have a washer/dryer. I will definitely be back!

We booked this place to be close the the festival downtown and it was. 1.3 miles or 25 minutes walk. Perfect for us. The Airbnb was clean and spacious. Shower is a little small but ok. King bed is very comfortable. Yummy welcome treats on the table was a nice touch. Keurig pods and maker available for your pleasure. Well lit and very secure. Felt safe at all times. Great place to book if you need to stay in this area.

Place was what we expected and the neighborhood was nice, about a 20 min walk from the main campus (which was relevant to us). Basement unit (down a few stairs from your private entrance) with windows in every room, off street parking, washing machine in the shared part of the house (that you can use until 9pm). Was a cold weekend and apartment was nice and warm. Bed was comfortable. Rosaria was responsive and helpful, and even folded some dry laundry we had left in the dryer. Left a handful of drinks and snacks for us that were much appreciated.

The place was really nice and the host was great! Don’t get discouraged if the power goes out during your stay cause apparently that’ll happen 2-4 times a year according to the host. Other than that I highly recommend

Oyi was quick to respond with every question we had, her recommendations were spot on. The apartment was spectacular, very elegant and tastefully decorated. Pristine and chic, every detail was well sorted out from distinctive furnishings to lightings and amenities. Comfy beds, pillows paired with perfectly posh linens. Details in each room is well balanced. You can choose to order in or eat out you won’t be disappointed! You won’t regret your stay at Oyi’s. I will definitely stay at Oyi’s elegant space again! 💕

Great spot and at a really good price. Was visiting for a Yale event and was near enough to feel close without being too close to downtown. The area around the place is also super cute and not one I had explored previously. Huge plus for some good coffee shops nearby and of course Pepe’s. Camila was a great and responsive host. 10/10 would recommend Camila and this spot.
