Holiday rentals with a hot tub in Lake Biwa

great location, super quiet. could use more heating in the winter (bathroom & shower cold), but would totally stay again!

We liked the house very much. It was very spacious (even though one of the bedrooms was not available, which was mentioned in the house description). Kitchen was very well equipped, we only missed wine opener and wine glasses ;). The location is ok. Not exactly in the city center, but Matsumoto is small enough to allow you to reach amost everywhere on foot. Plus there are some restaurants and shops very close to the house. The house is at one of the busiest streets, yet we did not experience any noise. Parking place was a good addition, it saved us money on public parking (which are mostly paid). Communication with Akiko was very good, the host was very proactive and helpful. All instructions were very clear and comprehensive. I can honestly recommend this place to other travellers.

This place was PERFECT. The apartment was super clean, modern and high-tech. It had the comfiest beds we’ve had in Japan and the air con was perfect for how humid it was while we were there. Everything was super clean - bathroom was private with great water pressure. The location was great - 3 min walk from train and bus as advertised. Syun gives a great guide to get to the location, it’s impossible to get lost. Would stay here Everytime I’m in Kyoto.

The place was really charming and tastefully decorated, perfect for a short trip. However, it was missing a common area arranged so that our group of 7 could have meals together (no large table or dining area), which would have made our experience even more friendly. The price seemed a little high considering this aspect. That said, the place remains nice and good location.

Very comfortable for 3 of us. It is within 15-25 mins walk to most attractions partly on narrow roads. Taxis can conveniently stop right outside the apt. The apt has easy-to-use amenities eg washer cum dryer, relaxing round bath tub, 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms, well-lit rooms on 2nd floor with comfortable floor mattresses. Little space downstairs if you have many big suitcases as stairways can be narrow to move them to second floor.

We really enjoyed staying here. (4 people) nice and roomy compared to a hotel room. Has a lovely traditional feel with tatami mats and screen doors. Be careful on the stairs because they are small and you can slip if you are not careful. The neighborhood is nice and quiet which is a nice break from the busy city. The shower room is awesome and clean. We cooked dinner one night. There is a 7-11 and grocery store on the same street as the airBnB. The Yellow Deli, Bitokes and Dal Masala are all fantastic restaurants also on the same street. We used the local Randen station trolley to easily get to and from Arashiyama. Lastly the host is very reasonable, responsive and friendly. We would definitely come again!

Our stay at Yanbin’s place was great! We really felt at home, at a Japanese home! Place is great, location was awesome! Away from the tourists but still super close to any action Kyoto offers! Yanbin was super friendly, always willing to help and put up with all my questions! Honestly a great place, plenty of room, comfortable and great location! Our kids were very careful around the house, but with so much space it was really great! Everyone had its own corner in the house to enjoy their reading, playing a game, reading a book or sipping a coffee/tea/sake! Highly recommended without a doubt! Thank you Yanbin, see you next time!

Lovely time at Kyoto House! A really fun space, mix of classic Japanese and western style. The doorways are a little low if you’re tall but really no complaints. Would stay again!

I've stayed in many airbnbs, and Hershey's place has been one of the best! The historic tea house was so charming, and we LOVED the outdoor bath/garden!!

Very nice place with clean and hot tub including place! Drinks, gifts, and quick communications are great to feel welcome at place.

It was a clean and easy to use and a good house. The bedroom is also large and there are many. It was very nice to stay with other families with friends and family. It was also nice to have multiple sinks and toilets. The living room space was spacious enough for a large group, and we had a good time until night. During the day, we had a lake BBQ at the nearby Matsuura Campground.The lake is easy to see, but it was about a 5-minute walk to a place where you can BBQ. It is also less than 10 minutes by car, and there is just the right one-day hot spring (Hiratopia). Even with a large group of children, it is conveniently divided into a group of people entering the house and a day-use hot spring pair. The convenience store and station were close.

The home is situated near the river and is next to a lot of restaurants. The home itself is very modern, Japanese style, minimal, stylish decor, and thoughtful touches throughout. It was quiet, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The host was responsive and provided clear instructions, making check-in and check-out easy. We really enjoyed being close to the water and having so many dining options within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!

This home is beautiful. It’s been recently renovated and it looked, felt and smelled new. The decoration and furnishings were really lovely. It’s in a quiet residential area about 20 minutes from the main shopping and sightseeing area, 10-15 minute walk to station and 3 stops to Kawaramachi markets. It comfortably fits 7 people in 3 different bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. Appliances and tableware were all high end. It doesn’t have closets in the bedrooms, just a couple of hangers, which seems to be common in Japan hotels. Shogo, our host, was very friendly, super communicative and helpful. Also very generous with his hospitality. This place is not in the middle of the busy sightseeing areas, but it’s relatively central and easy to get to places with public transport. There are also some shops and restaurants in walking distance. Overall, we had a wonderful stay! Very cozy and spacious, and equipped with everything we needed.

I used it as a group of 8 people, but it is very well equipped. We had a comfortable stay. Also, the weather on the day was not great and the temperature was low, but the indoor and outdoor wood stove was fresh and warm, which was great. I want to book in the warmer months next time.

We had the best holiday with a very polite response.

Anyway, it's fully equipped. Everything is sparkling clean. It is good because it has a high fence as a private space. I'll use it again.

It was so good!!The surroundings are too quiet, so it may be a little annoying.
