Our accommodation is located just off the Hikone Interchange on the Meishin Expressway (about 5 minutes by car), and is ideal as a base for sightseeing in Shiga and Biwako, as well as an intermediate accommodation during family and group trips (long-distance travel). There are many restaurants around Hikone Interchange, and there are also hot spring facilities and supermarkets, which are very convenient. There is also a convenience store and a set meal restaurant within a 3-minute walk from our property. Please come. Accommodation It can accommodate up to 6 guests. This is a guest house in a 120-year-old house that was renovated with the concept of "nostalgic and new" in a town of Omi Hino merchants overlooking Mt. Mimaki in the Suzuka Mountains of Shiga Prefecture. Hino-cho's townscape is also nostalgic and heartwarming, In the corner of such a town, "Mt. Moiwa Village" was born in the first year of the Reiwa Dynasty. The accommodation is limited to one group. Storage site: The Western-style room can be used by 3 people, with 2 beds and 1 folding bed, and the Japanese-style room can accommodate 3 people with Japanese futons, for a total of up to 6 people. It features a Shigaraki stoneware bathtub (120 cm diameter) that only guests can use, where you can bathe with your family and children. The furniture is all "Calimok" furniture from the Hida industry, made from the Taisho to the early Showa period. This is a private lodging [Kokoro]. This is a private house limited to one group per day, where you can experience the rich nature of Shiga prefecture and enjoy rural life. It is a nice, calm space that can accommodate up to 10 people. Please relax with your family and friends. It is about 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, and if you come by train, it is about 20 minutes by bus from JR Kosei Line Azumigawa Station, or about 10 minutes by taxi. It is popular with overseas customers, families, and groups. A BBQ set is also available for rent. We also rent BBQ equipment for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking is available on the premises. Parking is available for up to 3 regular vehicles. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to park 3, so please inquire in advance. If you contact us in advance, we can rent it for a fee. There are also plenty of outdoor facilities in the surrounding area, so please use it as a base for your activities. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
