In March 2026, this property underwent a major upgrade: the bathroom was completely renovated into a brand-new, larger space, the fridge was replaced, and a Google TV/YouTube TV set-top box was added to make the stay even more comfortable. This property is located near Shijō Kawaramachi, Kyoto, in a convenient and quiet area. Popular attractions such as Nishiki Market, Kamogawa, Gion and Takashimaya are all within walking distance.Many old machiya houses in central Kyoto do not have lifts, whereas this building is equipped with a lift, making it even more convenient for travellers with luggage, elderly relatives or children. It took us a long time to find this building, which has a great location, a quiet environment and an authentic Kyoto vibe, and we put a lot of thought into designing each room in a different style.We personally clean the rooms and carefully select the bedding. Many guests have mentioned in their reviews that the beds are very comfortable. We are currently continuing to update and improve the photos of the interior of the property and some of the furnishings. Kyoto Sanjo, where the accommodation is located, is very well located and is very convenient for shopping, sightseeing, and dining. One of the things we are proud of is that we use Shigaraki-yaki pottery, one of the six ancient pots of Japan, in the bathtub so that visitors can spend a wonderful night in Gion. It is a 3-minute walk to Gion Shirakawa, and the road along the river is a popular spot with cherry blossoms in spring and willows in summer, attracting many people. But my favorite time is when there are no people at midnight. The river surface is glittering and magical, like another world. A few minutes walk away, there are Seion-in Temple and Chion-in Temple, famous for their autumn leaves, and in the spring, you can walk to Yasaka Shrine, famous for its weeping cherry blossoms Please experience "Gion" at my accommodation!
