Apartment holiday rentals in Kalamaki Beach

This apartment was just a dream! As soon as we entered, we were delighted with the stylish and lovingly designed interior – modern, thoughtful and with a touch of Cretan elegance. Every detail was coordinated, it immediately felt like a home, just nicer! A very special highlight were the hosts Eleni and Lena. So warm, accommodating and authentic – we felt welcome from the first minute. Their recommendations for restaurants, beaches and excursions were worth gold. You can easily tell how much love they have in this apartment. Another big plus was the daily housekeeping – discreet, thorough and absolutely reliable. It was wonderful to return to a freshly tidy and clean place every day. And then... the view! Breathtaking is almost too weak – the view over the sea on Plakias was simply magical!

We had a wonderful stay here with our baby. As we were there in April, the local tavernas weren’t open yet but we received great recommendations for places a short driving distance away. Even on a rainy day it was peaceful to watch the waves from our apartment.

Great location! Right on the beach. A couple flights of stairs for us older people might have been tough but George met us and carried our luggage up for us!

We had a great stay! The appartment is small, but has everything you need. We received great recommendations from Maria and loved the pastries from Costa's bakery! Some restaurants, a supermarket and the beach are in walking distance. If you have a rental, it's easy to find a parkingspot close to the appartment.

Nice apartment, well located close to the beach and within walking distance to the old town. Some noise from the street, but not disturbing. Nice view from balcony.

Manos has really considered every piece of furniture and item in the apartment. The place is very comfortable and beautiful and there is everything you might need during your stay. Bed and pillows very super comfortable and the neighbourhood pleasantly quiet during night time. We slept very well. Kitchen has the amenities you might need. It was very nice to have some snacks, drinks and breakfast items ready. We felt very welcome. 5 stars easily.

We stayed less than a week in the beautiful garden paradise of Tina & Takis. It was absolutely fantastic, the place is wonderful with views across the valley to the sea and surrounded by flowers and plants. The apartment is very nice even in the rain, it is spacious, warm, lovingly furnished and offers everything you need to cook and feel good. Check-in was easy and flexible even though we were a little late. Both were great hosts, with a lot of creative energy and great recommendations for exploring the area. In addition, both speak perfect German (Tina is also a native speaker), so communication was very easy for us. Tina gave us homemade cakes to say goodbye and we really had a heavy heart to leave the apartment and Crete again. All the more, we hope to come back soon!

I had a great time in the place and felt very comfortable! It was very clean and the host is very friendly and thoughtful. The room is a 2-minute walk from the sea and restaurants. Will be back!😊

Yorgo's place has very good location: is close 5-7 min to the beach, very close to Backarei, several supermarket, good taverna. This is not directly in Retimno, but very well accessible in 10 minutes by bus or 2 km with a nice walk along the promenade along the beach promenade with many restaurants. The apartment itself is spacious and well equipped(larger fridge, stove, dishwashing and washing machine,mosquito net in every window, air conditioning). This includes a balcony where you could sit in the evening and a small pool with lots of water toys. Yourgos and his daughter are also very nice people. Yourgos always responds quickly, gives good tips and even ended up giving us traditional Greek sweets. Thank you. We can recommend Yougos Appartament.

We enjoyed our stay at Katerina's place. The accommodation was spotless, very well equipped, very pretty, nothing was missing, it was even better than at the hotel. Katerina was always very responsive to us when needed and the small dishes prepared by her family were delicious. Regarding the location, there are very nice beaches less than 20 min away, the small tourist village of Panormo as well as the "highway" that crosses the island from east to west are 10 min from the accommodation. I recommend this place with my eyes closed!

We enjoyed our time at Maria's apartment. It's a two-floor house with two apartments on each floor. Each apartment had a separate entry, so we saw people living upstairs. No doubt, the main treasure of this place - the view from the terrace. We spent long evenings sitting on the terrace watching the sunset. The apartment itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The place was all it said it was chistos brother was our host and he was exceptionally helpful we were given free coffee and water every day and any problems we had were soon rectified. One downside is that you have to walk downhill into town which means an uphill walk home im 73 and i managed would go back again if ever over south of island. Could do with escalator for homeward journey Jack from Southport UK.

For the money we paid, we couldn't ask for more. Heraklion is my home town and finding my way round wasn't going to be an issue, but even if I was an unaware foreigner on his first visit there I wouldn't be troubled whatsoever. George was always available on the phone and helpful. The studio was spotless and functional as quoted in the advert. The immersion heater would heat the water within minutes, while the air-condition was handy. The main advantage of this place though is its location: there is everything you need right at your feet and if you are the pedantic kind of tourist the choice laid out in front of you will put your mind to rest. Within less than half a mile radius you have more bars, cafeterias, restaurants and shops your palate can handle. Only question is... do you know where you are going? I am Greek, so I do. We liked the apartment, especially the terrace with the hot tub. The amenities were good. Chrysa is a very nice hostess. We felt very comfortable.

The apartment is really good and Niko responds quickly if you need anything. The whirlpool is good and was already warm. I would recommend the place for anyone.

Awesome place - Jacuzzi helps! Bed is nice and comfy, aircon works nicely and cooker and fridge is nice. It’s down the road from town a bus ride away. Toilet and shower is wetroom is nice. You have a great view of beach from the north side balcony and nice moon lit view of from the south side (whilst in the jacuzzi). It’s a good place to get transport links from the city (buses are all over the place). Stelios was very responsive and helpful with recommendations With restaurants and places to find a drink. Deffo would come back 10/10 🇬🇧🇬🇷

It was a great place to relax! The house is spacious, fully equipped and quietly situated. The garden between the olive trees was great and the pool was lovely. The communication was good, quick response and clear instructions. It’s a fifteen minute walk to the beach and restaurants, so easy to do. I definitely would recommend this place!

Amazing view from the sauna and jacuzzi. Super cozy place and was super clean as well. The host was super helpful and was really flexible when we had to make adjustments to our plans during our stay. Highly recommend staying here!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time in Kalamaki. The place was perfect for us. We enjoyed the sea view every day with sunsets and the tranquility. The short distance to the beach, restaurants or supermarket was also brilliant. Communication was perfect from start to finish. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet but ingenious location, this is the place to be. We can definitely recommend the hosts.

I was very pleased that the host greeted me personally at the entrance to the town and showed me the apartment and explained everything in detail. The apartment is beautiful, very clean, had all the amenities (as in the photos), the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is very beautiful and clean, the bedding is fresh and fragrant, as are the towels. Very comfortable beds and cozy bedrooms. And of course the hot tube where you can relax and unwind in the evening. Nearby there is a small shop and a pastry shop and taverns with very good food. I highly recommend this apartment and the hosts. An ideal place to visit both the north and the south of the island.
