Holiday rentals with a pool in Kalamaki Beach

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Despina! The location is fantastically quiet, perfect for relaxing, and at the same time a good base for exploring the south of Crete. The villa itself is very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped – from the kitchen to the beautiful outdoor area with pool, everything was well maintained. We particularly liked the warm hospitality and the little touches when we arrived. We felt right at home! A real highlight: the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and the sunsets in the evening. We will be happy to come back and can recommend Villa Despina to anyone looking for peace, comfort and Cretan warmth. Thank you for everything!

We felt very comfortable right from the start and were completely satisfied with the accommodation. In addition to the wonderful terrace with a fantastic view, the accommodation has a very good location. You can reach restaurants, supermarkets and the beach within a few minutes. We are always happy to come back. :)

There comes so much more with this stunning location, from the peaceful surroundings to Irina's attention to detail and kindness. If you are looking for a place to relax, recharge and enjoy Crete far from tourist spots in complete privacy this is your place.

This property is on the top of our list of all of the Super-host level properties we’ve been at whether Air B&B or any other platform. Premium quality and high marks for design aesthetics promoting maximum relaxation inside or in the yard with breathtaking views all day long and spectacular sunsets. All meals at the property must be had out doors! It was a perfect retreat after long days of sightseeing. We would rent it again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to family. John & Autumn

The villa is lovely and has everything you need for a holiday. Clean and well maintained. There was extra cleaning during the week. Great view of the sea and the mountains. The cars passing on the main road, which is 100m below the villa, create a slight noise, but it is not unbearable. Maria is a great host and despite the late evening time of arrival she was waiting for us with a smile. She took care of us all the time and gave us valuable advice. There was a problem with the dishwasher, which was fixed the next day as soon as I informed Maria. We had a great week and would come back again.

We had an amazing quiet time, the villa matches the photos. Note that the occupants of the villa above can see you, which has bothered us a lot, and that if there are children in the house next door it takes a little off the side alone in the world with the noise. If not, it's great.

The house itself is modern, stylish and equipped with everything you could wish for. The spacious pool and the breathtaking view of the Cretan landscape all the way to the sea inspired us every day. But what really makes this place special is the host. From the first moment, he was incredibly warm, helpful and attentive – after a very short time, it felt as if we had found a friend on site. Whether tips for excursions, restaurant recommendations or just a nice conversation - he was always there for us and made our stay something very special. DejaView is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy and feel good. We will definitely be back.

We immediately felt comfortable with Diogenis. After a late arrival, it was no problem to check in later. Communication was quick and flawless. The view from the bedroom was a dream and the beds very comfortable. We found everything we needed and had a great time in Diogenis' apartment. We will be happy to come back! Thank you very much 😊

Place was clean and location was also good. By car, you can reach the beach in 7 minutes, and Rethymno in 20 minutes. Supermarket in 5min range. Pool was large , with children's pool. Sunset view was amazing. The kitchen was fully equipped! Really a great place to stay. We would always come back.

Smaller than the space appears to be in the photos but clean and well appointed. Danielle, our host, was helpful, a great communicator, and accessible. Great to be able to communicate easily when out of country. The pool is small, good for refreshing only. Be prepared for 3 flights of steep stairs to gain entry.

Isla Luxary apartment delivers what the name promises. As a family with several generations, we rented the pool apartment, which was very modern, tasteful, spacious and comfortable. The large bedrooms have well-maintained, clean bathrooms with plenty of towels. The beds are extremely comfortable with regularly changed bed linen. Overall, the apartment is larger than it looks in the photos and thus pleasantly surprised us. We needed extra equipment for our baby, which was of high quality. This is not a given. The absolute dream is the architecturally perfectly designed outdoor area with high-quality, comfortable furniture and well-maintained plants. Professional cleaning is carried out early in the morning and the pool always appears sparkling clean. Stamatis was quick and knowledgeable in answering questions and dealing with minor weather-related problems, so we always felt in good hands. A special holiday in a special atmosphere!

Our experience at Doukas White Haven was truly wonderful! From the first moment, the hospitality was unique — the hosts were warm, kind and always willing to help us with anything we needed. They welcomed us with a smile and made us feel at home. The apartment was spotless, very neat and tastefully decorated. It had all the comforts we needed for a comfortable stay and even more. The private pool was a real diamond — clean and ideal for relaxing after a day in the city or on the beach. The location is excellent, close to Rethymno but also quiet enough to rest. Ideal place for families, couples or even for remote work. We will definitely visit it again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants an unforgettable stay in Crete!

We had a wonderful stay! Felt right at home, had everything we needed, even an orange juicer! The views from the deck are spectacular, we could sit there all day! Lots of great food options a close drive away. Highly recomend staying here!

Great place in an ideal location to explore the island. No walkable restaurants but lots within 10/15 mins drive. Would definitely come back

A stunning location, you could never get bored of the view it’s intoxicating! The house is spacious and clean with everything you need inside as well as being in walking distance to some lovely little restaurants and wine tasting. Would highly recommend!!

Great week spent just relaxing and had everything we needed. Pool was a great relief to the heat and visiting the local supermarket meant we cooked several times int he bbq and had breakfast looking over the views. Communication was great through out with some good recommendations. Loved that we had a mid week set of new towels / sheets and rubbish removed. It was just what we wanted - relaxed in a lovely location close to amenities . Thank you x

We liked our stay in Pompia very much. As long as you don’t want exciting nightlife, fast food outlets, shops with tourist tat, you’ll have a great time in Villa Belladonna. Pompia is quiet (except for the excellent Easter celebrations, with beautiful fireworks) and a great place to chill. The pool is great and probably much needed in summer. Panos is a great host, always responsive.

Lily is a wonderfully warm-hearted person who delighted us with the first moment. We were well supplied with tips and culinary treats. The cottage and garden was very nice. We recommend this place 100%.

The best villa there is. Host were very very accommodating and kind, once of the best people you’ll meet. They gave us a welcoming meal and it was delicious beyond words. We will definitely highly recommend and come back in the future. Thank you again for the great stay. ❤️

We had such a lovely stay at Manolis’ house. Our family of 7 (incliding a 2 & 5 year old & my 75 yo mom) all loved our visit. Manolis met us and gave us such a warm welcome with so many local tips and recommendations. It was even more beautiful then the photos and full od beautiful family heirlooms. The village of Amari is beautiful and peaceful and the villa is perfectly located in the middle of the village right next to the taverna. The views are amazing, the pool an numerous patios are gorgeous with stunning views and it is so peaceful and private. There were so many lovely complementary foods from the local vendors on arrival which made us feel right at home. Rumy cooked us the most amazing meals we had in the region that were so incredibly delicious! Do not miss her meals! She modified multiple dishes for our dietary restrictions. She is truly a masterful chef and such a wonderfully warm person. Our kids loved the home, pool, outdoor cats & Rumy! Everyone was so kid friendly!

We had a great stay in Crete in Atsipopoulo. The location is really great - since Atsipopulo is near the middle of the island, it's just about 1 hour to either Heraklion or Chania. It's also quick to get to the south side of Crete. We rented a car and were able to find parking near by consistently during our stay in May. We were told by other guests that the bus to Rethymo was easy but we don't have personal experience with this. Within walking distance is a grocery store, several restaurants and bakeries. The restaurants are mostly fast food, but just up the road are some great tavernas. Manolis is a great host and responded to all of our questions. Our room was cleaned weekly. We enjoyed our room very much, but what really made us love our stay was all of the common spaces. The rooftop was our favorite place to relax as well as get some work done. There are also friendly cats, which was a huge plus for us.
