The Old Painter‘s House, Ferienhaus am Wasser

Beautiful holiday home with large garden in direct water location on the canal with fantastic views of the East Frisian countryside. The house has been extensively refurbished and renovated. It was important to us to maintain the original character and combine it with today's living comfort. Regionality, sustainability and individuality were our compass. On the edge of the historic village center in a quiet location, just a stone's throw to the dike, the harbor and the ferry to Ditzum.

One kitchen, two bathrooms, a storage room and a separate toilet, plus two terraces (one covered) overlooking the water. Four private car parking spaces on the property. The garden/house is right on the water and is perfect for swimming, water sports or fishing. There is also a private jetty, including free use of pedal boats (30 March – 15 November).

It is located in the quiet village of Loquard. The dyke edge is about 2 km, bakery 1 km (Rysum), other purchases 11 km (Pewsum) or 12 km (Emden) The Tidehuus is a good starting point for extensive bike rides in East Frisia. If you are looking for peace, you will find it here.

The house has no direct neighbors, so nice evenings in the securely fenced garden are guaranteed. Children and dogs can play in peace.

Relax in this special and quiet place to stay. Located directly on the Petkumerhafen, it offers many opportunities for bike tours and walks. Several times a day, the ferry goes to the idyllic fishing village of Ditzum. Emden and the East Frisian surrounding area offer many attractions and leisure opportunities. The kitchen has a dishwasher. If necessary, two guest beds can be provided for children. Linens and towels are provided.

The listed house was extensively renovated in 2020/21 with a lot of love. The tastefully furnished house has lost none of its charm and originality. Witnesses to its old age are the original parquet and plank floors in the living rooms and bedrooms and terrazzo floors in the kitchen. The house is very carefully furnished with beautiful softwood antiques. In sunshine, life takes place outside on the terrace in the enclosed garden.

The property with its own jetty and boat dock is facing south. The large garden offers a built-in grill as well as a cozy place to relax in the hammock.
