Cabin holiday rentals in De Fryske Marren

If you want to stay overnight in the Plattenland, this is absolutely recommended. The description already indicated that it is “back to the basics” staying overnight, so you should definitely take that into account. The chalets are simple but cozy, with a kitchenette, water heater with tap water and heating for a pleasant temperature. The plumbing is in a shared space, and while it is not luxurious, everything is functional with simple showers and toilets. The absolute highlight? Each chalet has its own jacuzzi with views over the country. You can also make your own campfire, although you have to arrange wood yourself. The only thing to take into account is that the chalets are next to each other and the path to the shared sanitary facilities runs along the chalets. So there is no complete privacy and tranquility. But that doesn't take away from this great experience of staying “on the farm”, where you wake up in the morning with a view over the countryside and the day starts in your own jacuzzi

Very clean and quiet place. The bed was very cozy and the kitchen had everything you need for a cozy BBQ. The barbecue, the fireplace and the hot tub were easy to use and enriched our holiday. We highly recommend it!

Some cottages are just cottages. And some are silences in which you find words. This was one of them. Received with two beers. No welcome folder with rules, but a lighter by the hot tub and a feeling of: "you are exactly right as you arrive here." The view? Horses. Grass. Breath. The smell? Wood fire. Coffee. Spicy memories of last night. The vibe? Between flights and coming home. I came here to write. To be alone. And to close a chapter. Mission accomplished. Gelmer and Nienke have built something that works. Not because it's big, but because it's the right size. Every detail feels like it's been chosen with care, from the record player to the bed in which I actually slept like a man without deadlines. Tip for the next guest: bring something you can let go of. Great host and very cozy place to stay. We even extended the stay by 1 extra day and would love to come back one day.

The property was amazing, in a very beautiful village with peaceful scenery. The hosts provided us with free bicycles which we used in the mornings to visit nearby villages. We used the hot tub twice and sauna once, which was worth it and very enjoyable. The hot tub and sauna was for our private use and we had full privacy. The only small problem we had was that there were no restroom on the 2nd floor where the sleeping room was. Other than that we definitely recommend the property.

We had a lovely stay at Effeniks's! In retrospect, we secretly regret that we hadn't booked much longer. The hot tub with large wide views, exactly where the sun goes down, is wonderful. The cottage is beautiful, clean and equipped with every comfort. Really a place to relax and get out of the daily hustle and bustle.

We had a wonderful time at this magnificent house right on the water! The property offers an exceptional amount of space and is superbly equipped – ideal for larger groups. We were received in a very friendly manner and immediately felt at home. It was also particularly convenient to rent a boat right in front of the house. Our entire group was thrilled, and we'd love to come back. We highly recommend this house to any group looking for a lot of space and comfort!

We had a lovely time at Lydia’s. The cabin is decorated with so much love and one feels right at home The cabin is super clean, very well equipped and child friendly. Our 2-year old loved the toys and didn’t want to leave. The surrounding area is just as beautiful with beautiful forests, stunning meadows, quiet villages and lovely museums nearby. On top of that Lydia is a great host. She replies super fast and was always friendly and super helpful. One can truly feel how much she loves her holiday home and it was such a joy for us to stay at her place. We can highly recommend everything about our stay. It is perfect for a peaceful getaway to enjoy nature and some family time. Thank you for having us!

The stay was terrific. It is a cozy and complete cottage surrounded by greenery, with the sound of rustling trees, birds and a rooster. We will definitely come back with our cat.

Nice cottage in the center of Gorredijk, all amenities in the immediate vicinity, yet quietly located. In addition, the cottage has a nice terrace/garden, where the afternoon sun can be enjoyed.

Accommodation (cottage) remarkable for its quiet location and its authentic decoration and with great taste, a (real) Dutch country house! Beautiful view from the kitchen / dining room over the countryside, in the gardens of many birds. Carina is a very efficient and discreet person. We would recommend this lovely house very warmly, we had a great week there. Good option also to visit the country, nothing is really far away. In addition the small historic town of Hoorn is charming, and there are 3 supermarkets and many shops, bars, restaurants just 12 Km away. We'll be back as soon as we can… Didier & Yency

A very cozy cottage with lots of greenery around. It's wonderful to look outside, even in the rain and wind. Saskia is very nice and helpful. Recommended for when you want to sit in the green. And nice decor, cozy and personal.

Very nice cottage in a quiet park, at the edge of the village of Terherne. The cottage has all the comforts, the bed is top and the sauna is a nice extra. Definitely recommended!

We felt completely comfortable. The house is really great, right on the beach. It is very well equipped and we found it very clean. Communication with Patrick was very easy, and the contact was very nice! The highlight was the hammock. Unfortunately, we only found the mosquito screens on the last day😄 All in all, it was really a great, very relaxed and restful short break right on the Ijsselmeer. Thank you for that and we'll be back!

Such cute little place. We spent the new year eve there with the fam, it was calm and peaceful. This house stands on water, feel like living in a boat. Totally loved it, thank you Bart for the instructions, hope to be back soon !

A super nice place on the water. The outdoor seating was very nice, you can see sunset and at night a beautiful starry sky. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a nice shower. At night it is cold and there are a lot of spiders, but that's not that crazy. All in all had a very nice weekend here!

The chalet is in a stunning location, surrounded by nothing but fields. The chalet is well-equipped, just don't forget to take all the towels you need (including tea towels and hand towels). Annemarie was a wonderful host and took the time to talk to us around the farm. We can't wait to go back!

The campsite is located on the Fluessen in a beautiful area. It is quiet, but there is also plenty to do nearby. If you decide to visit Friesland, I definitely recommend this cottage. I expect to visit again soon!
