My wife and I have stayed at The Fish House several times. It is a wonderful respite from our urban home life. A great place to relax and appreciate the Northern Neck lifestyle. We love it here!

Everything was wonderful. We were a little taken aback when we realized the listing was not for the whole house. But we did go back to the listed description and read that it said unit rental... so then it made sense. Still, maybe just saying something like bottom floor rental with back entrance access only might make it extra clear.

Mickey was great, wish I would’ve had time to take them up on the fishing trips. Thanks for having me, will book again if in town!

Quiet place, perfect for our needs for a weekend away

We had a great stay at Kim and Holmes place. We were in town off season for a volleyball tournament so only stayed 2 nights. Holmes was very friendly and accommodating. The place was spotless and had a pleasant smell too. You can tell they care a lot about their place and want their guests to be comfortable

Erin’s place was the getaway that we definitely needed. We spent our time enjoying the sunsets (stunning pastel colors across the water), watching movies, cooking together, and had a nice meal at a local diner, too (which was recommended in the listing)! The place was so clean, well equipped, and very homey/comfortable. Being situated right on the beach, where in the mornings you can see all of the bay from the windows in the living room and kitchen. Erin was so personable and responsive which we so appreciated. She gave all the information you could need about not just the AirBnB, but the surroundings as well. We felt right at home. They have wonderful neighbors who we met on the beach one of the evenings. Everyone was just so friendly. They were enjoying a beach fire and we talked for a while about how amazing the area is. We have already decided we absolutely will be staying here again! This is the best kept secret quiet beach hideaway! My partner and I LOVED it!

We had such a wonderful stay for our Mother-Daughter weekend! The home was spacious, worked beautifully for the six of us! Sitting on the beautiful front porch watching the sun come up over the river was amazing! Great place for a family stay!! ❤️❤️❤️

They were also very welcoming, responsive, and always ready to assist with any questions or needs. The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and extremely dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Such a beautiful home right on the water! We went to the SML wine festival and the location of the home was perfect. Host was VERY responsive to any questions we had. Our family loved staying at this charming cottage on the river. The views are beautiful and very peaceful. Inside the cottage is everything you need for comfortable stay, the decor is tastefully and artfully done. Outside is equally enjoyable with fun and relaxation all around! Our family enjoyed the sunsets and the hammock. You truly feel on vacation here! So peacefuI, would recommend this location above staying in Norfolk or VA Beach to get the best of all worlds. Its an easy quick drive to Downtown Portsmouth and Norfolk. Virginia Beach was only 25-35 min using Midtown tunnel! We loved walking around the neighborhood everyone was so friendly. Portsmouth City park was easy for us to walk to and only a few minute drive by car. Truly one of our best airbnb experiences in the Hampton roads. We felt like we were able to take in not only the Elizabeth River views and tranquility, but also got to experience surrounding tidewater cities. Janine's cottage just shines!

Responsive even before I booked. As pictured. Accommodated 5 of us very comfortably. Friends stayed one half block up I liked our place much better!

What an amazing weekend spent. My friends and I wanted to find a place that felt like home and accommodated a large party and Kevin’s home did just that. The kitchen was well stocked, rooms were clean, and the common spaces were comforting. We had plans to leave the home and visit the Winery but we enjoyed the space so much we felt no need to explore outside of the grounds.

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our family vacation very much. We booked with Debbie two years ago, and we had to book again. We plan to return to Debbie’s place in the future! The balcony is so beautiful with a great view of the beach sunrise.

Would love to visit back in the summer. Even though it’s far away from the city, I loved the peacefulness at this place.

My husband and I spent a few days here and loved the ocean views! Most of our trip consisted of walking up and down the beach right in front of the condo or enjoying the sounds of the ocean from the balcony. There were lots of shops and restaurants nearby that were all delicious, and we got to see dolphins nearby! Sean and Rebecca were responsive and gave us great recommendations for what to do since we came in off season (January). We would go back many times over!!

We loved our stay here! Such a pretty area,appreciated the comfortable chairs on the balcony overlooking the mountains and lake. Very peaceful and quiet this time of year. The unit was bright and sunny,very clean,and the decor was lovely-beautiful and calming. Nice to be able to access the indoor pool and hot tub,just across the expansive lawn at the clubhouse-and the dry sauna and steam room there as well was a bonus! The fireplace is not operational but the remote controlled candles in it did provide a cozy ambiance in the evening. The bed was very comfortable. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Five times in and Matt/Krista’s place is a little slice of heaven. This gem at Smith Mountain Lake isn’t the biggest out there, but it’s ideal to get away for few days to rest and recuperate. The view is simply to die for and the hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back a 6th time!

Kelly’s oceanfront condominium is perfect! It has a wall of windows overlooking the ocean. It was very comfortable, nicely decorated, and immaculate. Kelly was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at this beautiful, cozy condo! The views of Smith Mountain Lake were gorgeous, and we spent a lot of time just relaxing and taking it all in. The option to choose between the screened-in and open patios was so nice to have. The condo was very clean, and the area around it is beautiful—perfect for a quiet getaway. Leslie and Craig were responsive and helpful, especially when I needed to come back to grab a few things I left behind after check-out. We also appreciated the private dock box, which had nice camping chairs for sitting by the water and floats for swimming. The condo was cozy, with plenty of blankets to keep things comfortable. We hope to be back again!
