Lakewood Lodge’s: Amanita Tent

GAME ROOM NOW OPEN! Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. This 20ft canvas bell tent with rainfly is located on a 3 site glamp ground with a stocked private lake. Experience the full camping feel with some modern amenities for convenience. In this tent is a king bed and two twin beds (one trundle). Perfect for a family of four! There’s fishing, kayaking, and peddle boat use! This glamp ground is located on our personal homestead with horses, chickens, geese, dogs and cats.

Living Rock Campsite #1

Our campsite is located on the hill behind Terlingua Ghost Town, 1/2 mile from Restaurants and shopping. Campfires are allowed. We have a composting toilet on the campground and an outdoor shower available. The view from your campsite is a 360 degree panoramic view of the Big Bend region complete with a sunrise over the Chisos and a sunset in the Chihuahuan desert of Mexico. The road to the campsite is unpaved. Take it slowly, any car will make it. One tent per site, please. Tent not included.

Secluded 20' Glamping Tent Among Pines and Cedar!

Stay in a 20' glamping tent surrounded by pine and cedar trees. It includes a queen bed, two sofas that sleep one each, with extra beds available for $20 each per bed. The tent has AC, a small fridge, free Wi-Fi, and access to a communal bathroom and shower. Free parking is on-site. Other structures are on the property, so you may encounter other guests during your stay. Thor, our gentle Longhorn, roams our adjacent fenced lot so come say hi!

Sheltered #3 camping in the Terlingua Ghost Town

We constructed this shelter to protect guests from bitter cold North winds and shade for the summer heat. The shelter is large enough for a tent, or use it for a kitchen dining area, or both if you have a small tent. We have 2 other campsites, an RV spot, an Airstream Argosy trailer, a Ruin and an Eco house as well. Please no paper down any of the toilets on the compound (there are bidets in both full bathrooms to use).

Studio Tents

Walden Retreats is a luxury camping retreat located a few miles outside of Johnson City on 96 acres. Our studios are 440 sq ft luxury safari tents that feature a wrap around deck, private outdoor shower and fire pit. Each tent has air conditioning, king size bed, kitchen, and private bathroom. Maximum occupancy in studios is 2 guests. If you need additional space, the suites are a larger option.
