Old 'alpendre' (porch) recently transformed for residential use in Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The alpendre was the house of the animals. The most valued and difficult to keep were the cows. Our unique and recently refurbished home is located in the heart of a wonderful Canarian town called Agaete. It is an oasis of peace with lots of light, space, local plants, and beautiful energy. It can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests who want to relax and discover the local highlights such as the Tamadaba Natural Reserve, the port, or one of many pristine bays and beaches. You can sleep, do yoga, play piano or simply wander around the tiny streets of this jewel of Gran Canaria.

Relax in this unique and tranquil place and enjoy romantic togetherness at sunset and a glass of wine. The spectacular view of the valley (Barranco de Anzoe) of the sea up to Mount Teide on Tenerife is hard to beat. The approximately 45 m² cave with annex is more than 100 years old and was brought back to life in the summer of 2022 and lovingly renovated as a vacation home. The comfortable amenities leave almost nothing to be desired (note: Wi-Fi available, NO TV!! ;-)

The black house is located in a picturesque neighbourhood in the municipality of Arucas. It is a quiet place with few inhabitants, far from crowds and at the same time, a few minutes away, close to all services: supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy, shopping centers etc. It particularly has views of the sea and the mountains, ideal as a starting point to visit the island, the incorporation to the highway in all directions is 5 minutes away.

The house was built in 1912 by Mr. Alejandro Hidalgo y Romero, who made his fortune in Cuba. The building is an excellent example of the Modernist or Art Nouveau style of Las Palmas from the early 20th century. Our grandfather acquired the building in 1946, and it has been the family home ever since. We have tried to preserve the essence and flavor of the old days and combine it with new amenities. We hope you enjoy it!
