Hossa National Park opens in front of the cottage. The cottage is located on the shore of tranquil Joukojärvi. The cottage was built with tradition, respecting the building carved in the 1890s. Heating is handled by a soapstone oven and two stoves. Electricity is powered by solar only in the darkest months, batteries are charged with an agglomeration. Wood-burning sauna in the same building. The front toilet is composted and odorless. Kainuu nature tours rent electric steel bikes, slip shoes, and kayaking equipment.
