Holiday rentals with lake access in Suomussalmi

Our holiday in Lehtikerp was idyllic and we had a great time. It's like a hidden gem. The house, sauna building, and surrounding milieu were all unique, which brought a fabulous ambiance. Everything worked well, there was plenty of room for a larger group, and Kari was a great host. We can recommend Lehtikerppu to others in need of the Kainuu region as well. You won't go into this place with love!

Spacious, cozy, well-equipped place by the lake. Another cabin pretty close and not too much of a sight in between. Overall a positive experience!

The house is exceptional, beautiful and right on the lake. The decor is natural, modern and with lots of wood; we felt very comfortable from the first moment. Note the very secluded location; the nearest shopping (supermarket) is about a 15-minute drive away. But with appropriate planning, that's no problem either. We enjoyed the quiet idyllic location very much.

We had an incredible stay at Esko’s place! The location is absolutely stunning, right by the lake, offering breathtaking views and the perfect setting for relaxation. Esko recommended fishing, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience for us. The surroundings are incredibly quiet, providing the most peaceful nights we’ve ever had—ideal for a good night’s sleep. The house itself is cozy and felt just like home. When we arrived, the house was already warm and welcoming, which we deeply appreciated. The location is also very convenient, with close proximity to larger cities like Rovaniemi, Oulu, and Kajaani. It’s also near ski resorts. Having sauna is amazing A short drive away, the town of Puolanka offers everything you might need. Additionally, there’s excellent connectivity in the area, so we had no issues accessing mobile internet during our stay. We highly recommend Esko’s place for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. A cool and cozy place to stay in Kuusamo for a more demanding guest. The landlord was also friendly and took care of it throughout the stay to make sure everything was fine. Warm recommendation for everyone ☺️

Very nice apartment for 2.5 years with a toddler. Good equipment, clean. Lots of toys, plenty of towels and a central location.

Beautiful place with views of the frozen lake from the beds, as soon as we arrived we were able to enjoy a very pleasant sauna. Quite isolated but perfect for being in nature.

The description of the stay met expectations. We found everything you need in the cabin. Communicating smoothly with Sepo. Thanks to a good snow situation, you could get to the ski track right from the door! I recommend a place to stay for a solo traveler.

The property is really good for its location. Based on the photos and description, it is a cozy and good apartment. When I got there, it was even better. It contains everything you can imagine you need. I'll rent it again next time if it's available. Thanks to Samuli, you responded quickly and clearly to the messages. A perfect stay for a few nights in Andrés apartment. Very cozy apartment with all the necessities, including sauna. André and Anna were very quick to reply and very polite hosts. Would recommend this place to anyone seeking a relaxed stay in the heart of Kuusamo.

Very nice and peaceful place. Communication with hosts went smoothly. Recommended. The circulating air cook has not been cleaned from an earlier guest, but it was overcome when we washed it ourselves before using it.

The place was just as it should be. A wonderful, beautiful and peaceful environment. The cottage was well suited for two adults and one first-grader. The staff was very friendly and nice.

We spent a nice couple of days at the cottage. Swim, sauna, and moved nearby. The cottage was close to the driveway, but the sounds of traffic didn't bother you. The neighboring cottage is also very close and the residents were there, but it wasn't a disturbance in any way. Unfortunately, the dock wasn't in place, which made it difficult to carry water to the sauna and swim, but it didn't make it impossible. The sleeping loft mattresses could use a revamp.

This is a top-notch cottage in a dreamy forest by the lake. The winter scenery was "Narnia" like all around. All the amenities are beautiful Finish art collections, the dishes almost feel too pretty to eat from :-) You can feel that every corner has been thought about. The communication with Virpi has been excellent before and during our stay. Thank you so much for having us.

The stay was clean and as described. You could comfortably get some privacy to nature. We would have loved to stay longer!
