Thames path meets Ridgeway

I loved staying here, many thanks to Anne and her family for making me so welcome. And the garden was an unexpected joy, full of flowers and birds, with a view of the hills opposite! I was very comfortable and found the location very convenient.

Lovely peaceful location, friendly host. Listing reads as if there are views of the Thames from the windows of the property - there aren’t - though it is close by, not a problem at all for me but might be for future guests.

The Treehouse at Barrow Hill Barns

JoanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Rob’s treehouse was the perfect getaway . So peaceful with lots of lovely walks nearby. Unfortunately for us the weather was awful on our day off but the treehouse was so comfortable that we were happy to spend the time just relaxing indoors. Everything was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Rob left milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits which was a nice touch and much appreciated

It was so lovely staying at Jayne’s place in the countryside. It’s a really spacious apartment and with 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen it’s a real gem! Jayne is a delight - very friendly and helpful and easy to get along with. Loved staying at Jayne’s place and would highly recommend!

We stayed here whilst attending reading festival. It’s such a perfect base of you’re going to be in and out. It has everything you need and is in a great location. It is soo quiet in the mornings as well which is a bonus. We would definitely recommend

Rural Interior Designed Cottage

JaneRating, 5 stars2 months ago
It was just me and my teenage son that needed somewhere to stay locally. We were toying with the idea of a hotel, but ended up renting Emma's place. I'm so pleased we did. It's in a very pretty setting with views out across a field of horses. There is a big drive outside which made it very easy to park and bring stuff in. Then, the actual bungalow was perfect for our needs. Everything there and all spotless. We were really happy and had a great time.

Private room with en-suite bathroom

Great stay with Alistair and Kathy. Super accomodating about us turning up relatively late and in the kind of state you'd expect after a 90km off-road bike ride. They've got a lovely house and you feel very much at home. If you like plants, you'll love this place! The room was excellent too - spacious, comfortable and light. But the highlight was really meeting Alistair and Kathy (and various animals, both usually resident or on some sort of holiday... No wonder, because it's a special place to stay). We could have chatted to both for hours... And almost did. Alistair was also kind enough to lend us a bike pump and offer a spare inner tube. And even though we weren't expecting it, he said he'd lay out a few bits for breakfast if we wanted. We expected some Shreddies, and got those, several other cereals, fruit, Greek yoghurt, jam, butter, and various juice and milk options. Wonderful. Alistair and Kathy... Thanks so much for the kindness and conversation. We might be back
