Monthly Rentals in Saimaa

Our stay at Ilkka's place was perfect in every respect. When we arrived, Ilkka's wife welcomed us and introduced us to the apartment, describing in detail all the facilities and the rules. The apartment was very warm, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is located in a very silent area. The university is at walking distance and the city center can be easily reached by bus. Instructions about how to move in the surroundings can be found in the apartment. We really loved this place and would like to come back soon to enjoy the beautiful nature and quality of life.

The cottage is isolated from the civilization without electricity nor running water but the facility is definitely more than enough to make yourself comfortable and immerse yourself fully in the Finnish nature. The view from the cottage is absolutely stunning and in the night only you hear is water waves and animal sounds. We were here beginning of October and could enjoy sunlights at the port. We didn’t go into the lake (apparently it was 7 degrees) but hopefully we can come back to enjoy the swimming in the lake in summer! The cottage itself was built by the owner Mari-Anne and it was unbelievably well designed! We were so happy to be able to stay at her cottage. Mari-Anne was very responsive and gave us all the help needed including the explanation of fire and gas system. She is such a lovely person to interact with.

The place is amazing for a calm getaway. You have the lake and the forest right in front of the house -which has great panoramic views- and a lot of activities to do if you want.

Lovely place to stay within walking distance of the lake. The house offers all the comforts described. The sauna is a gem. Waking up to the view of the lake is priceless. Friendly and helpful host. Highly recommended!
