Repovesi National Park is located a couple of kilometers away. So combining cottage living with hiking is a great success. In addition to the cottage, there is a barbecue hut where you can also stay overnight. A dock and a rowboat can also be found on the beach. The place is unique: a quiet private peninsula and traditional Finnish handicrafts in the cottage.

Primitive finnish sauna and washing room prox 10 m2 with wooden stove, well water. Room 10m2 with fireplace, sofabed, 12V solarpower for lights. Grill for cooking at terrace. Fish-smoking equipment available. Great possibilities for fishing and picking berrys and enjoy nature peace area around clean water of Saimaa and fresh air. Destination is for naturelovers!

Peace and harmony at Pikkumökki-cottage

Pikkumökki-cottage is a cosy, traditional log cottage with a magnificent view over the lake Saimaa. The cottage has an open common area (livingroom and kitchenette) and a sleeping alcove. Sauna is in the same building with an own entrance. There is no shower, but you wash yourself with a refreshing lakewater. There is no watertoilet, but traditional dry eco toilet in a separate building. A big terrace and a grill for barbeque. There is a small bungalow next to the cottage, with beds for two.

Ascetic remote old Finnish cottage with own beach and sauna. In midsummer there is also bilberry (nordic blueberry) fields right next to the cottage! At the cottage you can enjoy a romantic holiday in a historic milieu or just go and relax with your friends and take a rowing boat to the lake. The cottage has no electricity or running water, wood heating. You can cook with wood heated stove. Blankets, pillows, and mattresses can be found in the cottage. Here you can enjoy nature and total peace just a 10 min. car drive from Savonlinna centre. You have a good chance of spotting the endangered Saimaa ring seal, often swimming in front of the cottage. Both the cottage and the sauna are just a few meters from the lake shore. There is a rowing boat for guests to use.
