Places to stay in Orwell
Large spacious barn, beautifully converted into a one bedroom annexe. Spread across two levels with separate double bedroom, bathroom, living room and open plan kitchen diner. Detached property in a lovely village. Centrally located close to the shops, pubs, Science park and The Sheene Mill. Ideal for weddings or working professionals.
Unique, detached, self contained, picturesque property, with open plan feel in fantastic Cambridgshire village with plenty going on including pubs, shops, restaurant, Barbour/hair dressers, butchers, post office, gym/pool and Melbourn Science Park. Ideal for working professionals or an amazing holiday home. Also lovely village pub serving good food all day and property has a complete sky package with all channels including movies and sports and fast wifi.
Quiet and historical local area with friendly locals and many amenities. Including a train station 10 minutes walk away with a direct line to London and Cambridge in no time at all.
  • After a cancelled holiday in Rome, we desperately needed a getaway. This little gem in Melbourn was fairly close to the airport hotel we were staying at, so we thought we'd give it a go. Needless to say, we instantly fell in love with the style, the cleanliness and comfortability of the barn. Oh, and the chickens too. Kieran was super helpful and gave us all the info we needed, and we got there with no problem at all. With a pub less than one minute away, a Co-op around the corner, and a wildlife park in a neighbouring village, there was plenty to keep us busy during our stay. Will definitely be back soon to see the chickens!

  • Kierans place is beautiful, lovely scenery with chickens outside laying fresh eggs that you can help yourself to. Place looks better than the photos inside, really cosy and great amenities. Would definitely come again if I'm ever in the area.

  • We loved staying here, the place is great and Kieran was really helpful.

  • What a charming little place to stay. Absolutely loved it. Great location. We walked our dogs locally and then hopped on a train into Cambridge for a couple of drinks before returning to cook a meal and have a cosy night in. Cooking in the large kitchen/diner is a delight. Feels rustic and homely. The friendly hens had laid and we each had one of their eggs for breakfast. Was a really nice touch. Would thoroughly recommend this place to couples looking for a little hideaway for a romantic break.

    Devran2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a lovely place to stay! We stayed from Saturday to Monday, everything was perfect! The barn is so cosy and it’s a great touch that sky TV is included and the movies as the weather was awful so we stayed in all day watching movies! It has everything you would need, cutlery, pots, pans, towels, toilet roll! It is in a perfect location with a little coop down the road should you need anything whilst you are there! We drove into Cambridge Sunday night for dinner which about 20/30 minutes so would be good if you wanted a day out in Cambridge! I will definitely recommend this stay to everyone and will be returning!

  • A perfect place to stay for countryside lovers. Really comfortable accommodation, clean and relaxed, with fabulous walks on the doorstep. Tory is a great host - her comms were so helpful and she was most welcoming. A very dog-friendly place too. We'd certainly go back. Thank you Tory!

  • Sadly it was really windy and the fire would blow out after about 5 mins ( probably something to do with our fire skills) but that’s nothing to do with the hosts! The apartment was great! Wish we’d stayed longer! Lesson for next time is to get fire skills

  • Tory was an impeccable host helping us with everything we needed, in particular a small hot water problem one evening. She was very gracious and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. The barn was beautiful, warm and cozy and the perfect place to finish a long day out. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Tory! I am sure we will be back!

  • Tory's place is lovely - a short drive from Wimpole Hall and not too far from Cambridge city centre, we had a great long weekend. We tried the pub recommended which was excellent and much enjoyed the fresh orange juice, bread and jam that Tory left for us! A great stay!

Number Fifty-Nine is a peaceful, elegant bed and breakfast retreat just outside Cambridge. It is in the garden of our family home, a Grade II-listed, thatched period cottage located in the village of Orwell; you will be totally self-contained but we are on hand if you need anything at all. Above all, we want you to relax and feel at home.
Number 59 is a luxurious, light-filled space for two but can comfortably accommodate three. There is a super-king Vispring bed which can made up as twin beds if preferred. A comfortable day bed, fabulous for lounging with a book, transforms into a full-size single bed. All the beds have soft and light duvets (anti-allergen) with crisp white linen, extra blankets and plenty of pillows. Black-out blinds and peace and quiet ensure a good night’s sleep. The house is calm and uncluttered but welcoming and cosy too. It is centrally heated and there is a thermostat to ensure the temperature is as you like it. There is instant hot water whenever you need it. There are peg rails and hangers and plenty of drawers for your clothes. In the bathroom there is a huge walk-in shower, plenty of hot water and fluffy white towels. You will have a mini kitchen with butler’s sink, fridge (and ice box), microwave, kettle and toaster. You can eat at the table inside or, if the weather is warm, outside in your own private space in the garden. Breakfast and welcome provisions will be left for you so that you can eat at your leisure; fresh coffee, tea and milk, fruit juice, granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt, lovely bread, homemade jams and local honey – and perhaps a homemade treat when you arrive. If there is anything you can’t eat, just let us know in advance. We have left a selection of books in the house for you to borrow while you are staying. The house is equipped with wi-fi and HD Freeview TV. Of course, you may prefer to just watch the birds!
Orwell is a lovely village an easy 15-minute drive from central Cambridge, outside the rush hour. It has easy access to the University, its Colleges and other attractions. In the village there is a small shop for basics and a pub (The Chequers) which serves good food. There are beautiful walks in all directions, many on the Wimpole Hall (National Trust) estate which you can reach on foot from the house. The area is popular cycling country and we are very happy to recommend routes for all abilities and ambitions and can offer support in terms of repairs, tubes, bidons and the like. Cambridge is a wonderful place to spend some time. We know it well and can give you lots of tips as to where to go and what to see – from the beautiful Colleges, museums and galleries to lovely independent shops and cafes. In addition to the wonderful buildings there are plenty of open spaces: the Botanical Gardens, Grantchester Meadows, walks by the river or along the Backs. We are also within easy reach of the science and research campuses at Babraham, Melbourn, Granta and the AstraZeneca biomedical campus at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
  • Katy is a wonderful and most attentive host who provides everything you need for an enjoyable stay in her gorgeous studio apartment. The luxurious studio, with a huge walk in shower, small kitchen area and large living/sleeping area looks over her beautiful garden. We couldn't recommend this property more highly.

    Dr Ian2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Katy and Tim were perfect hosts. Charming and helpful in every way. We very much enjoyed our stay at their exquisite home. The bedroom was beautiful, small kitchen extremely useful and the shower room was luxurious. If the weather had been more conducive we could have eaten meals outside at a delightful garden table. The property is within walking distance (through fields and woods) of a beautiful stately home and convenient for a visit to Cambridge.. There is a good, friendly pub in the village serving good beer and tasty food. We were so pleased to find such a wonderful airbnb property. Thank you.

    David2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Katy’s place is modern but full of character. Lovely welcoming touches and beautiful, peaceful location with easy access to main attractions in the area.

  • If you are looking for a lovely little studio in a quiet village within easy reach of the Park & Ride into Cambridge then Katy & Tim's lovely little garden studio is for you. They are exceptional hosts with excellent communications from the first booking to the final morning departure. All the basics are supplied along with many little extras like delicious bread & preserves, extra comfortable bedding and towels. We heartily recommend this property and won't hesitate to use it again when next in the area.

Every detail is considered, the rooms are elegant the finish impressive.Towels, sheets, beds luxurious. Katy and Tim provide generous and tasteful touches for breakfast and toiletries. We felt really welcome, comfortable and relaxed. What more could you want ? :) Thank you so much - cannot recommend highly enough.

    Christina2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Katys place is fabulous, its warm and cosy especially for a couple. You have everything you need within the studio and Katy is always there with quick responses when needed. Katy also went the extra mile to make sure we could see in the dark by switching on the lights before hand. She also left breakfast materials for us which was a lovely touch. We cannot wait to come back!

  • I had a really wonderful stay at Steve’s place. The house was tidy and it was a pleasure to be welcomed there and chat with the family. Steve and his wife also kindly offered their generous help during my move to a new place which I greatly appreciate. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying at his place as a good base for going into Cambridge centre, whether it’s for business or for tourism. Thanks very much Steve!

  • Lovely clean modern house. Kind helpful family who made me a nice cup of tea. Spacious light room with a comfortable bed. Good view of the garden. I felt very welcome and was grateful to Steve for kindly working out where I was meant to be going in the village. Highly recommended and just a bus ride from central Cambridge. Also managed to get an uber early on Sunday morning.

  • I've personally not had the pleasure of meeting or staying at Steve's place. I booked this accommodation on behalf of my friend's dad. Well, I'm happy to say, he's had the most wonderful stay and came back with only praises for Steve and his family, for taking such good care, attention to detail, cleanliness. And I feel very happy to recommend Steve's home to anyone. 😊

Very comfortable bed - slept like a baby. Shower was a dream. Bread, milk, cereal, tea and coffee available. Highly recommended. A fully equipped studio flat with some quirky features. Spacious kitchen/living room area to relax and self-cater. Mezzanine bedroom sleeps 1-2. Situated in small rural village just outside Cambridge, walking distance to transport links.
The annexe is a studio flat with bedroom on mezzanine floor. The living area has very high ceilings and therefore spacious and airy. The mezzanine floor has sloping ceilings which may not suit everyone, but the velux windows keep the bedroom space light and airy. With a double bed 1 person will sleep comfortably, and 2 will be cosy! The bathroom, with its unconventional and haphazard tiling makes it rather unusual and quirky - but the shower is hot and powerful! The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. A washing machine is also available for longer stays. Unfortunately the TV picks up a very bad signal for TV, but it is kitted out with a chrome cast and a fire stick to stream your own content, or connect to the main on demand services such as iPlayer/4od. Plenty of street parking available for cars. Road is a quiet cul de sac.
Foxton is a small, friendly and safe village. There is a small but well stocked village shop and a pub only a few minutes walk. Behind the house is the village recreation ground with playground, and overlooking the church. Local attractions include Duxford air museum (8 mins), Shepreth wildlife Park (5 mins), Wimpole Hall (10 mins) as well as everything Cambridge has to offer. Also very well situated for Royston and Melbourn Science Park. In order to explore the local area we do recommend you have a car.
  • The Annexe is located a short walk to the train station, a shop, and a pub. Therefore if you are like me - without a car - you needn’t worry. This was the perfect place to stay while I started my new job in Cambridge and looked for a place to live permanently. The annexe is clean, warm, and cozy. It has all the amenities you need. Staying here felt more like a vacation than a place to live while relocating! I highly recommend.

  • A fantastic space in a great location close enough to Cambridge for the job I was doing . Caroline was the perfect host

    Graham2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline was a gracious and attentive hostess. The Annex is in the charming little village of Foxton, which is an easy drive into Cambridge town centre. Great experience!

    Kenney2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline & family are really helpful and welcoming hosts. Coupled with the fact that Foxton is a quaint little English village, only 10mins on the train from Cambridge and 75 mins from London, makes Caroline's home an ideal place to stay after exploring or justing wanting a relaxing break. The apartment has everything you'd need to make one feel at home - hot water & heating, towels, cooking facilities, WiFi, netflix ...

    Bharat2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe is delightful - the high ceiling gives the living area a great sense of space and the mezzanine bedroom is lovely, especially waking up to a window of pure sky above the bed! The kitchen is well-equipped and the station just a 10 minute walk from the door, across a grassy field - charming and very handy for direct trains to Cambridge or London. Caroline couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

    Rowan2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very warm welcome from Caroline on arrival. The Annexe was a good size and had a nice sitting area - I was surprised how spacious it was. The quirky bathroom is as advertised - very cute decoration! 😊 Lovely and warm, so all round nice place to stay for work.

  • I was left in absolute awe! Angela is the kindest soul I've ever met, made me feel more than at home and so safe in her property. She offered everything she could and made me as comfortable as ever. I don't have words for everything she has offered me and the way she made me feel. The room had everything you need and more. Thank you so much! A place I'll definitely remember for ever and definitely come back.

Very kind to offer breakfast with lots of cereals, bread, butte, Jam with lots of spreads all ready kept in kitchen. Room was very comfortable. Really felt like home and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend this place for staying in Royston.

  • Gavin and Sharon made us feel so welcome. It was so easy to communicate with them and they were both so helpful before and throughout our stay. The facilities are amazingly clean, modern and we all felt so comfortable.

  • Fabulous weekend stay, beautiful home - really spectacular with sumptuous underfloor heating. Wonderful hosts with exceptionally kind and thoughtful touches to the accommodation. Cannot rate highly enough.

  • Fabulous guest suite with gorgeous high spec luxurious separate bathroom in a beautiful barn conversion. Our hosts were amazing and so super friendly. Communication was excellent through booking and our stay. It exceeded our expectations and it really felt like a home from home. The bedrooms were impeccably furnished, spotlessly clean, beautiful decor touches. Our bedroom had super comfy bed, luxurious pillows, full of light and our even had access to a garden area. Our hosts even provided an early breakfast and catered for our special requests for our favourite crumpets. They also allowed a slightly later checkout for myself which was greatly appreciated. Such wonderful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and visited the local pub just a stones throw from the barn. We’d love to visit again sometime in the near future. Thank you so much

Ideally located to take advantage of Cambridge, Newmarket, The Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Grantchester, the National Trust stately home at Wimpole and easy access to London, with regular fast trains to London Kings Cross.
The Barn style property is attached to a second Airbnb property 'The Stable' not yet listed. There is a sofa bed in the lounge to take 2 additional guests. Please be aware that the surrounding garden and outside area are currently in process. We are located down a made up farm track, with lots of lovely walks around. No need to get in the car, just walk straight out the door and you are surrounded by fields. There are a couple of good pubs around, one of which is in walking distance. We have a local shop and local park.
  • The Potting Shed is a great place to stay close to the peaceful Barrington village. A 15 minute walk to the bus stop, which takes you to Cambridge if you want to enjoy the city life. Just beside the bus stop you can enjoy the wonderful, very old and classic Royal Oak pub. They serve both great food and ale. If you travel by car, you are only a few minutes away from several train stops, which will take you to Cambridge or London. The Potting Shed itself is a beautiful spot. The rooms in the house are of good size, including two bathrooms. The Potting Shed was also very clean. We did not get to meet the host, but she was very helpful when we corresponded on SMS.

  • Had a lovely one night stay at the Potting Shed! Great scenic views, good location and distance from Cambridge. The photos don’t do enough justice in portraying how lovely the barn is as well as the special homey touches! Kitchen was great too with ample utensils/pans/plates for cooking

    Chloe2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ann-Maries potting shed is absolutely lovely. In a very remote and peaceful part of Cambridgeshire it is genuinly the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. With modern equipement for making breakfast/dinner it is a great place to stay. We were there for two nights and genuinly didnt want to leave - we are 100% coming back - Also loved the personal touch of porridge and snacks on arrival- 10/10 stay.

Pear Tree Studio is a new barn conversion in the garden of a family house in a village location five miles from Cambridge. We have on-site parking, there is a regular bus service into Cambridge from a nearby stop, and a cycle route to Cambridge via Grantchester Meadows. The studio has underfloor heating, a shower room/WC, kitchen, private patio and views over the garden and Cambridgeshire countryside.
We provide the basics (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, cereal) for a simple breakfast. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and two-ring hob. The bathroom has a WC and shower. Towels are provided.
The village is five miles west of Cambridge. There is a pub, post office and convenience store (Budgens) in the village and a variety of gastro pubs in the nearby villages of Coton and Grantchester. Burwash Manor, just down the road, has a selection of independent shops, cafés and a delicatessen. We are close to the historic sites, museums and shops of Cambridge and also handy for the National Trust’s Wimpole Hall, the Wimpole Way footpath network and Grantchester Meadows. There are walks straight from the door through the Trumpington Farm estate.
  • An amazing, private, inviting place. Safe parking, modern amenities - including underfloor heating - with homely touches and excellent hospitality. Watch the wildlife as they venture into the garden, or enjoy the view while having coffee or food. Peaceful, quiet nights in the middle of nowhere, so you can disconnect if you want to. We will definitely be back :)

  • Lovely cabin. Very convenient for working at Horizon Park. Bus stop a 1 minute walk. Budgens Village Shop in Comberton, a 15 minute walk (paved footpath along one side of road). No buses on a Sunday or in the evenings (last one into Cambridge about 6.30pm, last one out about 7pm). Reasonable mobile signal (on O2). Spasmodic wifi signal (a couple of hours the first day, nothing the second day). Good bed and mattress. Very quiet at night, despite being on main road into Cambridge (cabin faces away from the road, overlooking open countryside). Peaceful, rural location. Saw barn owl, near Grantchester, on the bus ride from town. Hope to return.

  • My second stay at Jane and Tom's picturesque studio. Lovely decor and very thoughtful amenities and finishing touches. Highly recommend, would stay again.

    Kevin2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Jane & Tom's place whilst working in the local area. It was conveniently located to my place of work. The views are beautiful and I got to experience a few stunning sunsets. The studio is warm and welcoming with delightful touches dotted about. I especially liked the cookies and milk upon arrival, very nice touch. The kitchen covers all essentials for cooking and storing food. The bathroom is clean and well maintained. They have provided detailed information regarding the studio, local area and Cambridge trips which is most helpful. I have enjoyed it so much that I will stay again when I am next working in the area.

Old Fox Inn Annexe is an independent ground floor wing of The Old Fox Inn, a Grade 2 listed former pub dating from the mid 1700's. Chris and Sarah have just become the proud owners after buying the house from their friends who had already beautifully converted the annexe to a lovely space for airbnb guests. Set 9 miles from the historic city of Cambridge with good transport links. The property benefits from the use of a large garden with free range chickens and overlooking horse paddocks.
The Annexe has its own entrance and plenty of off road parking. It has been renovated with modern fixtures and fittings and is warm and cosy with central heating. There is a full kitchen with a table and four chairs, hob, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, cooking utensils, dinnerware, and coffee/tea making facilities. A welcome pack with a range of fresh breakfast produce; milk, cereals, bread, yogurts, jam, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, sugar is included on arrival. Towels and fresh linen are provided. The bedroom as a very comfortable king size bed with plenty of pillows and a fluffy duvet. This room also has a very comfortable single chair bed. The living room has a sofa, lovely to snuggle and read, or watch TV. This also converts into a full size comfortable double bed for extra guests and you will have fresh linen, plump pillows and a cosy duvet. The centre of the picturesque village of Bourn, (famous for it's pioneering work in the field of IVF) is five minutes away and offers the Willow Tree Pub, a very good Indian restaurant, a coffee shop, a butchers, a convenience store and a golf club. There are numerous local walks through the beautiful surrounding countryside. We are happy to help you with any recommendations. The historic Wimpole Hall Estate, a lovely National Trust property is 5-10 minutes away. The historic city of Cambridge is 15 minutes away by car. For trips into London, Royston station is only 15 minutes away and is much easier for parking. The fast train is under 40 minutes journey time.
The name Bourn is derived from the Old English burna or Old Scandinavian brunnr, meaning '(place at) the spring(s) or stream(s)'. It was spelled Brune in the 1086 Domesday book. Bourn has existed as a settlement for over a thousand years. Roman remains have been found along the Bourn Brook and near Bourn Hall. Evidence of Romano-British activity has been found along the top of the valley on the airfield, and, in the direction of Caxton. Three tumuli on Alms Hill are of Roman and Danish origin and the two which were excavated in 1909 contained Roman coins and pottery, a Celtic button and evidence of Danish feasting commemorating the death of a leader or celebrating a victory around 1010. The medieval village was in a wooded valley and developed along both sides of the Bourn Brook. The farming system of common grazing land and six large fields managed in a three-course rotation lasted until the Enclosure Act in 1809. (The ridge and furrow system of farming is still evident by the undulations in the paddock at The Old Fox Inn and in surrounding fields.) Bourn mill, The Post Mill dates from at least 1636. It is believed to be the second oldest surviving windmill in the UK. The present Bourn Hall is built on the site of a wooden castle that was burnt down during the Peasants' Revolt. A timber-framed house built early in the 16th Century was added to in 1602. The Hagar family left Bourn Hall in 1733 and the estate belonged to the De La Warrs until 1883. During this period Bourn was visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert while they were staying at Wimpole Hall. 5 miuntes around the corner from the Fox Inn Annex is Wysing Arts Centre, a research and development centre for the visual arts. Wysing Arts operates a year-round programme of public exhibitions, events, schools and family activities, alongside artistic residencies and retreats.

  • Little Barn is the perfect little hideaway, tucked down a quiet drive and looking out onto Verity’s beautiful garden and house. We were very warm and comfortable, with everything we needed to enjoy a few days in the countryside. We had no joy with the WiFi (although Verity had kindly provided a booster) but were delighted to have good phone signal, so it wasn’t a problem. Thanks for having us Verity!

The house is full of charm & character, with good sized rooms [albeit wonky & low ceilings!], modern kitchen & a private secluded garden. There are food takeaways & home delivery options & great chip shop 150 m away. Key safe entry to avoid meet/greets.
There are two good sized double rooms and a cosy twin room. The thatch is new making the house very quiet and snug. There are beams throughout, uneven floors and low ceilings in places, all adding to the authentic character of what was the cobblers home and workshop. There is a twin bedroom, bathroom and a separate toilet with sink on the ground floor for anyone who cannot manage the stairs.
The house is on a quiet lane lined with lovely gardens and friendly neighbours. We have 7 neighbours, all really nice people, we ask guests to be respectful and not to make too much noise as the evenings roll on or too early in the morning! We do not live next door (not sure why people assume this!) but we are only 800 metres away so can be there to help with anything you need.
  • We stay regularly at Tim's cottage when working at IWM Duxford. It is a charming cottage with handy local pubs and shops. Great for work or a holiday.

  • Carolines place is really homely and at the same time nicely appointed - Kitchen had everything to make evening meals and hot breakfast. Spacious fridge! The shower has to be mentioned because its like mine at home, very powerful- and she provided a nice starting hamper so if you cannot shop before you arrive you have for tea, coffee toast fruit. ( Butter, jams & fruit 😀) Caroline was there to welcome me and show me around. Highly recommended.

Barton is on the outskirts of Cambridge; it's a real country village with very good amenities and handy transport links. The house is a Victorian cottage next to the church and accessed via a footpath. Your room catches the morning sun, has comfortable seats and table and a modern en-suite shower room.
There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There's a large chest of drawers and hanging wardrobe space for you to use.
Barton is a thriving village of about 900 people. We have two pubs (The Hoops and The White Horse), two churches (St Peter's and Barton Baptist), a post office and general store, a service station with shop and Burwash Manor Barns, which includes a cafe, food hall, butcher, toy shop, florist, haberdashery and many other independent retailers. All the shops in the village are open 7-days a week. We have very good wifi here, which is, of course, freely available to guests. There are lots of walks around the village, including those maintained by Burwash Manor and the Countryside Restoration Trust. Both farm organically, so the wildlife is good. It's quite flat around here, so only a few slight inclines which we call hills, but it does mean we have a big sky and fabulous sunsets!
  • New to Airbnb this place is a gem! Situated in the hamlet of Barton its a 15 minute drive into Cambridge. Beautifully decorated and perfectly peaceful Lorraine was a gracious host and the ensuite bedroom was simply gorgeous. Would love to go back!

The cottage has been renovated with modern fixtures and fittings. There is a full kitchen with breakfast bar, hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, cooking utensils, dinnerware, and coffee/tea making facilities. Within the village you can find St Andrew's Church, The Chequers Pub which is open Tuesday-Sunday serving excellent lunch and dinner as well as a great Sunday roast, a Post Office and a local village shop selling a number of local produce including fresh local meat, bread and alcohol. There is also the Orwell Pannier Market with a number of stalls selling food, gifts and crafts. This is normally hosted once a month (1st Saturday of each month). Well worth a visit. The quaint village of Grantchester is only a 15 minute drive. Grantchester is home to thatched cottages, medieval Grantchester church, the Orchard tea garden as well as a number of pubs - Rupert Brooke, Red Lion, The Green Man and The Blue Ball Inn.
  • Paul & Amy’s accommodation was super clean and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. Check in was smooth and easy. Paul and Amy were very accommodating when we asked for an earlier check in. Location wise you will need a car. We stayed here for a friends wedding at South Farm, approx 10 mins away and taxi cost was £33 to return from South Farm to Wimpole at midnight. Thanks again Paul and Amy for letting us stay at your place!

  • A modern and comfortable apartment located within a wonderful town. The place is a spacious 1 bed and 1 bath apartment. There was more than enough space to accommodate two for our stay. The bedroom is well-laid out with a very comfortable bed, clean linens and clean towels provided. There were also some amenities provided within the bathroom inc. shower gel, shampoo and hand wash as well as tea/coffee kits within the kitchen. Check-in was simple and straightforward, as there was a lockbox all the information we required for our stay was provided by Jess prior to check-in. Communication with host was great, as they were always on hand to answer any questions/queries. There was also access to Wifi which was quick and a Smart TV at the apartment which could stream content from YouTube/Netflix or FreeView channels. Getting around was straight forward the apartment is in an ideal location a 5 min drive from the shops/supermarkets like Tesco Express, Aldi, McColl’s etc. and roughly 7-10 mins into the town centre. The nearest station is a 7 min walk away from the apartment. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Royston you will not be disappointed.

Stylish house close to the City of Cambridge in the lovely village of Haslingfield. Peaceful cul de sac with off street parking.
The room has a double bed. The private bathroom is not ensuite but literally next door to the bedroom and has a bath and shower. There is a kettle in the room with supplies of tea and coffee. Towels and bed linen provided. Please note the room is upstairs (flight of 12 steps). We provide a light breakfast of cereal and yogurt. However, there is a lovely cafe in the village - The Moringa Tree - which opens at 9.15 if you fancy something more substantial. It's just a short walk through the church yard. Breakfast is served in the kitchen/dining room but no use of the kitchen otherwise- sorry! Free Wifi.
Haslingfield is a friendly village just 6 miles south of Cambridge. We are lucky enough to have a village shop and postoffice, delicatessen and cafe. There are many pleasant countryside walks. We are just 6 miles from Addenbrookes Hospital if you need a friendly place to stay while visiting rather than a hotel. There are a host of things to do in Cambridge. It's lovely to wander around yourself but there are also a wide range of tours to participate in from cultural to ghost tours. Punting or canoeing along the Backs of the Colleges is a must. We are also close to Grantchester which has several good pubs, a gin distillery and The Orchard Tea Garden renowned for the huge number of famous people who have enjoyed its genteel setting. We're talking Rupert Brooke, Virginia Woolf, Bertrand Russel, Ludwig Wittgenstein, E.M. Forster, John Maynard Keynes, and Alan Turing - to name but a few. Other places nearby include: Wimpole Hall, and Burwash Manor a working organic farm with a selection of independent shops. Slightly further afield is IWM Duxford (Air Museum) which is 17 minutes by car.
  • As described. Friendly host. Modern facilities. Would recommend

  • Very nice place to stay, quiet, very clean and comfortable with a comfortable, double bed and a private bathroom. I was there for 3 nights and was made very welcome by Jane as soon as I arrived and in particular had some great conversations with Jane's husband, Robert. Only one possible word of caution is that although it is a bungalow, the private guest bedroom and bathroom are upstairs above the garage. Unlikely to be an issue for most people but something to be aware of if mobility is an issue

A cozy 17th century Grade II listed cottage situated in Barrington, Cambridge. Guests have the whole house to themselves. House comes with 2 bedrooms (queen size bed and double bed), kitchen, bathroom, living room, study area & large outdoor entertaining space with BBQ & pizza oven. Perfect for a group or family wanting to visit Cambridge or wedding/event guests at Barrington manor. Cambridge city centre is 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bus (bus stop is a 30 second walk from the cottage).
The cottage is believed to be built in circa 1650s due to its style and building methods but does not appear in official records or maps until the 1800s. It was originally built as a dove cote to service Barrington manor and is an integral part of the village's history. Converted into a house in 1850, the cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard, offering quintessential English living in one of south Cambridge's most sought after chocolate box villages. Overlooking the UK's largest village green, it offers a calm and peaceful setting.

  • Lovely quaint cottage in the village of Barrington. With many original features and a bath of dreams - it’s closeness to Cambridge made it ideal for us.

Beautiful converted barn within our Grade Two listed property. The barn is at the rear of our property and has its own private access and garden. The barn is split into two self contained annexes and the garden, private parking and chickens are shared between the two annexes. A full extensive renovation has just been competed in July 2018 and is ready for the perfect getaway, work retreat or stop off. Plenty of local amenities and Kieran will leave you to it, but on hand if you need anything.
A character rich barn conversion to a very high specification, whilest keeping those warm and charming original features throughout. A sun trap right up until sunset in the garden withthe romance of collecting your own eggs in the morning to picking tomatoes and runner beans when in season.
Fantastic village with many amenities including The Sheene Mill Hotel and Restaurant, Melbourn science Park, Saxon Way Business Park, shops, pubs, Hairdressers, award winning butchers and even a fresh fruit and veg shop. There is also Meldreth train station just 10 mins walk away which can get you to London in under an hour or Cambridge in 15 mins.
  • Kieran was a great host and we would definitely go back. Highly recommend.
