This annexe is a self-contained space in the heart of Totnes with views up to Totnes Castle. It's a five minutes walk from Totnes railway station and ten from the river Dart and its path to either the bottom of town or to the beautiful Dartington Estate. We have a south facing garden that guests are welcome to use and private parking. The annexe is five minute's walk from the top of the High Street with of all its amenities. Totnes is renowned for its independent shops, cafés, pubs and history.
Please note that there are two sets of three steps approaching the annexe. Private parking is available at the rear of the property along with the access to our garden. The washing machine is situated in the basement adjacent to the annexe, the annexe itself sits beneath the kitchen of our family home so some general household activity can at times be heard above. The annexe is comfortable and cosy, the house itself is Victorian and has the quirks and charms associated with an older property.
Totnes is situated in South Devon, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beaches and Dartmoor National Park are easily reachable by car - taking anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes for a selection of beautiful locations. Totnes sits on the main rail network between Plymouth, Exeter and beyond. The River Dart flows through Totnes and lovely walks can be taken in either direction along the river paths. The local ethos encourages independent trade meaning there are plenty of lovely, quirky coffee outlets, pubs and restaurants, as well as other pursuits such as regular markets, live music, cinema and literary events.

  • Amazing location, very cute place. Host was very helpful.

    Elizabeth2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • A charming little apartment located conveniently close to the railway station and the town center. The apartment was very clean and full of beautiful details. There was an extra heater there so the temperature wasn't a problem even in the wintertime. It was great to get oatmeal, crumpets and jam for breakfast! The tea selection was way better than in any other Airbnb I've been to... I got a quick and friendly reply to all my messages. The only minus in the apartment was that as mentioned in the description, at times there can be a lot of sounds from upstairs (steps, talking, music), so this is not for the best place for sound sensitive individuals, at least not without earplugs. There was no noise from outdoors though, since the apartment wasn't on the side of the street.

    Anne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had everything we need at Ali’s. Cosy, comfortable, well-located & a great host. Thank you!

Located near Totnes, in the heart of a rural Devon Village. Tranquility and comfort combine to make our cosy cottage a perfect getaway. Situated for day trips to Devon beaches with an affordable price it’s a great base for exploring. Includes a private fridge in our kitchen, self serve breakfast (toast, cereal, coffee, tea). A 30” Netflix TV in the room and a comfortable foam orthopedic mattress, with extra pillows. Parking is in the village lanes and can be tricky but our price reflects this.
We are a quiet mature couple who mostly work at home. So interaction is what you make of it, hide away or engage either way we are easy going. We are happy to share all the downstairs areas of our home, and you can smoke in our small courtyard. Or Vape inside. Parking can sometimes be an issue but it’s free and is manageable. Worse case a 5 minute walk from the car to the door. The village is old and quaint because of this it is lacking infrastructure for the modern world of cars. However there is often parking within 1 minute or less depending on the time of day (evenings being busy) it’s also possible to stop outside for a few minutes and drop off your bags or necessities before going to park (we do this ourselves regularly) The village is safe and friendly. The fire is almost always going in the evening, and the perfect place for our guests to sit and relax. Amenities are within walking distance, well behaved dogs are welcome, with plenty of nearby fields and walks for them. The cottage has a cosy yet minimal feel. The kitchen is not perfect but has a farmhouse cottage feeling. The house is kept tidy but as it is a 400 year old cottage it has its quirks. We have been cooking and eating Asian food for over 15 years and offer cooking lessons and meals at additional charges, please ask for info when you book. Our cottage is a small home with unique layout and interesting nooks and crannies. What it lacks in grandeur it makes up for in charm. The fire is on most evenings, and as we don’t have any pets or children so the house is pretty quiet. We generally watch a film in our room between 9pm-11pm leaving the downstairs empty. We have one upstairs full bathroom with shower/bath and one downstairs toilet. We are always happy to help you while you are here, and also happy to sit around the fire in the evening sharing stories or not the choice is yours.
We are 3.5 miles outside Totnes, 12 miles from Dartmouth Close to many beaches. Close to historic landmarks. Close to DartMoor National Park Near Woodlands Leisure Centre 15 miles from Salcombe Beach 12 miles from Bee Sands Beach 11 miles from Blackpool sands Beach 15 miles from Bigbury beach 12 miles from Bantham beach 12 miles to Stoke Gabriel riverside village 13 miles to Buckfast Abbey

Beautiful Barn conversion with large space to entertain in both the kitchen and living room. 3 double rooms and 3 bathrooms/toilets. The house is dog friendly - please only allow dogs in communal areas, and keep them out of bedrooms.
Located 3 miles from Totnes and 15 mins drive from lovely beaches and Dartmouth.

    John2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - this place is everything you see on Air B and B and more. My guests and I highly recommend it as a good base to explore the area. It is stylish, well stocked with the essentials and has plenty of parking. Piers the owner is very quick to respond to queries and a good communicator.Just be aware the driveway is very tight and larger vehicles may not be able to get into the yard. Town is very close but has few facilites such as shopping and cafes but Totnes is only 3 miles away. Easily accommodates 6 adults but plenty of space for more if needed.

Small kitchen with oven and fridge etc. Shower room and toilet. Wifi, TV, DAB, central heating. Variety of tea's and real coffee provided. Warm, cosy and quiet.
A 10 minute easy walk away from Totnes town centre, though away from the bustle, and a minute away from the beautiful River Dart. The cabin is ideal for a peaceful break. A comfortable, quiet space, it has an open-plan layout with vaulted ceiling. The main room looks onto the garden. The south facing veranda is the perfect place to hang out and relax. Self catering and self contained. We are happy to provide some basic supplies if you ask prior to your arrival. All the bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, shampoo & conditioner is supplied. Cycle, swim, canoe, we have two stand up paddle boards (SUP's )available to hire, walk or just relax! The Cabin has its own South facing veranda to enjoy the sunshine and the veranda doors open fully to let the outside inside. Snuggle on the sofa with blankets and just enjoy the quiet. The Cabin has central heating and is cosy all year round due to the quality insulation.
Ours is a quiet street and The Cabin is tucked away at the end of our garden. Easy walking along the river Dart, great spot for swimming, canoeing or cycling.
  • I adored this place. I literally would have moved in...I absolutely loved the space and all the little details - the birdscreens and birdmugs, the beautiful plants, the terracey-bit, the whole layout that meant you had everything you need in one space (kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen in one cabin, the excellent book collection - was just perfect. Georgi and Pete were wonderful, generous and friendly hosts. There's an ecological awareness too that really suited me. And good birds in the garden. You feel like you're on a retreat! You have to be a teeny bit athletic to get onto the mezzanine beds - the swimming pool ladder goes straight up, the wooden ladder is angled so a bit easier. Even as a single person, it was good value, but four can sleep here easily in the 2 mezzanine beds, which would make it amazingly good value. Really comfy and peaceful. A lovely reflective space I found. Didn't want to leave!

  • This is a really excellent AirBnb, clean comfortable and a bit quirky, with some nice, unexpected touches such as the chocolates! Must be even better in the warmer, dryer weather, when you can sit out on the verandah.

  • We had a lovely weekend at The Cabin, it’s perfectly located for both Dartington and Totnes, being so close to the Footpath along the beautiful river Dart. Our children loved the well thought through, playful space saying: “I liked that the beds were in the roof” (Maisie aged 10) “I liked the homely feeling it had, it was comfortable and it didn’t take long to settle down” (Henry aged 12). Georgi and Pete were very friendly and helpful with excellent, hassle free communication. We thoroughly recommend this lovely little bolt hole in the South Hams.

    Tony2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Warm comfortable cabin with nice glass windows to let in tons of light. Very well designed cabin, with seemingly everything you would need for cooking right there. The sleeping loft , the bathroom all were very well build and made it a pleasure to stay in the small cabin because it was so well done.

  • Absolutely delightful. The cabin is cosy and comfy, and just gorgeous in every way. Thanks Georgi and Pete!

  • A lovely stay in The Cabin. Just as described and lovely and warm inside. Had everything we needed and more space than I imagined. Lots of thoughtful touches and we loved the eco friendly products to use. An added bonus was only a minute away from the river Dart and lovely running/cycling/walking paths, so some lovely morning runs. My only problem is, it was so lovely my daughter wants one built at home to the same standard. We will definitely use this again when visiting this area.

The South Hams is an area of beauty and contrast with river estuaries and rolling hills surrounding pretty villages and historic towns. Close by are the ancient market towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, with their narrow streets, full of colour and character that stem from a rich cultural and historical heritage. With 60 miles of spectacular coastline being overlooked by the granite slopes of Dartmoor, little has changed in centuries, making South Devon a unique holiday destination worthy of its national status as a Natural Area of Outstanding Beauty. Family attractions include Woodland Leisure Park, Paignton Zoo, Pennywell Farm, Quaywest Water Park and River Dart Country Park. Numerous beaches can be reached within a 20 minute drive, including Bantham and Blackpool Sands. • We enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay at Helen's property. Helen was on hand to welcome us, provide great tips on local areas of interest and eating out ( The New Inn @ Moreleigh we can highly recommend for eating, the steaks are too die for though you must book). The property ticked all the boxes in terms of location, cleanliness, comfort and style with a view across the countryside you can only dream of. The children loved the mezzanine floor bedroom. We strongly advise any guests to take up Helen's offer of her breakfast. That was beautiful and filled us up for a day of exploring. Lovely host and property and we would relish the opportunity to return here again! Thanks Helen!

Totnes is a small town with its own unique culture. It was one of the first transition towns with a focus on sustainable living and alternative therapies coupled with good shopping and a selection of excellent independent eateries, coffee shops and pubs. We have our own cinema, amazing record shop and plenty of events if you fancy a night out. There are lots of places to visit closeby across the South Hams and South Devon including the river Dart, local walks and bike trails, beautiful beaches, moorland and countryside. There are plenty of historical properties locally and we are close to Plymouth and Exeter. Denys Road is a quiet and friendly street located a short walk to the town centre. There are several routes into town that lead you to the top, middle or bottom of the high street. We enjoy pleasant views and are very close to the river and local walks. An OS map of the area is provided. www.visittotnes.co.uk is a good starting point.
  • Really handy for the centre of town by foot. The loft is very spacious and modern. It is really well decorated and is very clean. The hosts are very friendly but also discreet. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

  • Moya and Matt’s en-suite loft room was lovely; it was warm, clean and cosy and having an HD tv in the room was an added bonus. Communications with Moya were great too. Our dietary requirements were catered for and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is good - a short walk and you’re in the town. Parking is on their driveway. We would highly recommend this place to stay.

This beautiful, bright, handcrafted cabin is set in a secluded meadow within the rolling hills of the Devonshire countryside. Surrounded by nature, the birds and the bees, its the perfect place to unplug and relax, yet be 12 minutes drive from the quaint and quirky town of Totnes. The wilderness of Dartmoor national Park is a 15 minute drive away and the nearest beaches on the South coast are 30 minutes away.
The cabin stands in its own field, which itself is set within 16 acres of a hidden valley in rural south Devon. Between our house and the cabin woodland and wild quarry. There are walkways snaking around the land and there's even a little brook at the bottom of the valley. Our house is on the other side of the property, affording guests a real sense of seclusion and solitude. Cabin features: - A beautifully handcrafted, solar-powered cabin in the depths of the Devon countryside. - A simple elegant kitchen with gas hobs and running water. - An elevated "loft" bed with natural, organic super comfortable Devon-made King size mattress and linen. - An off-grid outside compost toilet and thrilling(!) outdoor *hot-water* shower. - Wood-fired stove and outdoor iron fire place. - Set in a secluded meadow overlooking a wooded valley. - Designed for lovers of simplicity, natural beauty and peace.
The valley in which the cabin sits is genuinely tucked away, but reassuringly close to Totnes. It takes less than 12 mins to drive to the bustling, characterful town which is filled with cafes, independent shops and curios. It's a fascinating and beautiful town complete with castle and two weekly markets, as well as monthly food market. 15 mins drive north is the edge of Dartmoor National Park. 368 square miles of wild beauty: open moor and wooded valley, famed for it's tors (granite outcrops) and neolithic landscapes. You could spend days up there and only just being to touch the wealth of wilderness on offer. 30 mins drive south or west and you reach the sea. Its a spectacular meeting - rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, surf and spume. There are some great places to eat if you know where to look - we'll recommend our picks.
  • An amazing opportunity to disconnect from the day to day and reconnect with the important stuff in life.

    Colin2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing cabin set in a great field with peaceful views. Definitely very private, beautifully decorated and much roomier than I originally thought. Great kitchen with everything you need including a fab tea selection. The outdoor loo and shower turned out to actually be a real highlight and great fun! We received great directions, very easy to find. Would love to come in the summer when everything’s in bloom.

  • The Wildflower Cabin is a total paradise! It's just as idyllic as it looks in the photos and is a beautiful place to stay for a weekend or, if you're lucky, longer. The cabin overlooks rolling fields and the views are beautiful to wake up to. Freddy and Helena have made it really cosy and easy to while away the hours in. The kitchen is really well stocked with pots and pans to cook with, and there's lots of space to relax and read. I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Wildflower Cabin!

Our property in the beautiful South Hams area of Devon, is 4 miles from Totnes and close to the A381, the main road leading south towards Dartmouth and Salcombe. Our lovely 2 bedroomed annexe is adjacent to our home but accessed separately. It has a cosy living area with full kitchen downstairs. Also a small double bedroom, shower room, and open area with children's bunk beds on this level. Upstairs is a very large, light bedroom with a superking, an additional single bed and bathroom next door.
Overleigh Farmhouse, to which the property to let is the Annexe, is in the hamlet of East Leigh a mile out of the village of Harberton. A car is needed to get to and from Overleigh and to enjoy the surrounding area. Parking for several cars is available on site.
There is much to enjoy for singles, couples and families, with the seaside towns of Torquay, Brixham and Paignton and the delights of Dartmoor all within an hour's drive. The Dartington Estate which hosts many cultural events is even nearer. There are many National Trust properties to visit nearby including Greenway (Agatha Christie's Summer Residence) and Coleton Fishacre (established by the D'Oyly Carte family). There are many leisure parks and other attractions to keep children entertained.
  • We all loved the place. Great communication, very helpful & knowledgable when it came to finding the place, lovely touches on amenities available and ready to "go". All in all a great Airbnb guest experience!

  • Fantastic place If you’re looking for a perfect rural getaway this place is ideal. You follow winding singletrack country roads and then come to a lovely Annexe in the middle of the Devon countryside - but within easy reach of the fine town of Totnes. The property has lots of lovely finishing touches, is very comfy warm, stylish, and has lots of space. The underfloor heating and Aga stand out, and some essentials to welcome you. We’ll recommend to our friends and family

    Holly2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, short or long term, as it is well stocked above and beyond. Very bright, quiet and relaxing, spacious and clean, best beds and linens for sleeping and the home has extra touches, such as a breakfast tray by the master bed for-coffee and tea making, as well as homemade jams and TV in the Master bed-room. The home is more spacious than apparent in the pictures and the hosts are thoughtful about the comfort of their guests, with very specific information and other special touches to make one’s stay memorable. Everything was in good working order and we would return without hesitation!

Bright, clean and comtemporary. Overlooking Dartmoor and the river Dart. King size double bed in an exceptionally large room with desk, chairs, storage and a comfortable sofa. Wifi included. Situated in a very quiet location just a 15 minute river walk into town. Renowned for its cafes, shops and a fantastic atmosphere. 5 minute drive to Totnes centre. 30 min drive to stunning beaches and coast path walks. 30 min drive to Dartmoor. is also a second large bedroom available.
My home is a bright fresh contemporary house in a very fortunate situation up on a hill right beside the River Dart in Totnes and with views of Dartmoor and Haytor and the beautiful sunsets over the Moor. Its hill side situation also means that the sun shines fully onto it from late morning until evening. It's totally quiet with no traffic noise at all which makes it a very restful retreat space. You'll have easy access to the vibrant atmosphere of Totnes and all the wonderful cafes and entertainment. You can walk to the town centre in 20 minutes. There are many local walks along the river- To Sharpham Estate in one direction and to Dartington Hall in the other. At Dartington Hall you can find the most beautiful gardens, an amazing cafe, the barn fringe cinema as well as a vast selection of music, dance and workshops. It's fantastic! Totnes is also the original transition town and the dedicated members of TTT (Transition Town Totnes) have enhanced the stunning beauty of the town by planting a lot of nut trees and planters for people to help themselves to salad, strawberries and raspberries ! TTT also offers films and talks to inform people of healthy attitudes to Nature and the environment . Totnes is close to the coast and Dartmoor, both offering wild and tranquil activities. Stunning walks and cafes at the coast and breathtaking views and characterful pubs with real ales on the moor. For people wanting to come away with family and friends I have one double room available and a king size room also .
Totnes is without a doubt the best town in Devon. The house sits on a hill overlooking the River Dart and Dartmoor.
  • Suzanne's house is warm, spacious, modern and very clean. There is off-road parking and there is a short pleasant walk along the river Dart to Totnes town centre. Suzanne is an excellent host: friendly helpful and very considerate.

Beautifully designed by Gemma Dudgeon Interiors, this peaceful pied-à-terre feels spacious thanks to the expansive skylights and vaulted ceilings. The interior is elevated by the bold and colourful walls with fun patterns adding a final flourish.
The flat was recently featured in The Observer Magazine and its location in the heart of Totnes makes getting around easy and convenient. Grab a drink at a local pub, dine at one of the family-owned restaurants, and explore the nearby beaches.
  • What a great place. We loved it. Gemma was flawless in her communication and made us feel entirely welcome and looked after. This unique apartment is located in a perfect spot to walk to town but is very peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay again.

  • This perfect accommodation was a jewel box, located within a stone’s throw of the main commerce and walking street of Totnes. The bed was incredibly comfortable , the design was current and classic with beautiful touches, fixtures and art; the skylights made it feel as though we were in the trees or on a ship, and the cottage was stand alone and private but not a bit remote. We will definitely stay here again when we come to magical Totnes.

    Vicki2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great few days away in this stylish and unique space. We particularly enjoyed the design colours and aesthetics, with everything within the property made to match. The space was used extremely well and everything was spotless and of a very high quality. Fantastically central location for nearby food and drink. We also drove out to enjoy some fresh air along the South West coastal path and local National Trust properties. We would highly recommend and would like to return. Many thanks! Ian and Rio :)

  • This is just the most gorgeous place and we were desperately sad to leave! The cottage is designed so beautifully with every object carefully collected to make a simple, elegant and cosy space. Hannah and Paul were great hosts, apologising at the end for the terrible weather (a storm hit when we were there!) In fact, we were grateful for the storm as it completely justified us staying in, lighting the fire reading and playing games in our super cosy cottage. We wouldn’t have had it any other way! Bliss! Hope to be back again!

  • An absolutely perfect cottage, we had a dreamy time. The cottage has everything you could need and more, and is in a great spot to reach all the best spots in South Devon! Definitely hope to go back soon x

  • Dove Cottage is a very cosy and comfortable place to stay. The decor is stylish and feels very relaxing with interesting features such as atmospheric lighting, contemporary furnishing mixed with some vintage ornaments. The cottage is particularly lovely and cosy when the log burner is lit. The throws and sheepskins also add a touch of luxury. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom has a fantastic walk - in shower with lovely tiles. There are some little extras such as good quality shampoo, conditioner and roomsprays. The location is lovely and quiet with pleasant views of the village.

  • Dove Cottage is absolutely beautiful - the interiors are perfect and every touch has clearly been very well thought out. The perfect cottage for a relaxing break. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends and hope to stay again. Thank you!

Even with the weather being hit and miss, the hut definitely provided a peaceful sanctuary to spend a relaxing few days! We truly had a great time😊 Niall & Katie 12-14/03/2020

  • Our third stay at Nat and Mark's beautiful, quirky and cosy home. Staying here is a real treat and has become a weekend highlight in our year! Everything about the experience is easy and relaxing from the communication to the stay itself. We couldn't recommend this highly enough if you are looking for an extra special break. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

  • A wonderful tranquil environment, tucked away, but conveniently just off the main street. Such tasteful décor and the thought that Natalie had put into dressing the cottage was outstanding. Natalie made additions and finishing touches that were personal to myself and my daughter particularly regarding a vegan diet. It was the perfect retreat - thank you.

  • Be prepared for a small but so perfectly formed air bnb experience ... Totnes is a great town and I can not think of how you could improve on the stay in the heart of the town.. The house has everything you would need and more ... the calm music playing and the wonderful fragrance just makes you feel so welcome ... thanks so much.. we loved it..

    Susie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks for a wonderful stay. The place was excellent and you very thoughfully provided everything, what excellent hosts you are. I wish everywhere was like your place to stay at.

    Anthony2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it from the moment we walked in and were lucky enough to be able to book an extra night which made our trip so much more enjoyed. Loved the art work the attention to detail surpasses most other places. Looking forward to coming back.

  • This place is the perfect getaway in a perfect location to the centre of Totnes but tucked away so that you feel secluded. Beautifully decorated with many thoughtful touches. A great space. Hosts communication was brilliant. I highly recommend!

    Rachel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a place; I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some of the best hotels in the world. And a few “plus” air bnbs - this one takes it to a whole new level...gluten free chocolates on arrival for my coeliac daughter, scented candles, yoga mats, extra supplies “just in case”, they really have thought of everything. I wouldn’t hesitate on recommending this place and we’ll definitely be back.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far and away the best cottage we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot! It was beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, spotlessly clean and, most notably, equipped with everything you could possibly think of and more. The kids’ beds had beautiful toys and books laid out on them which they absolutely loved (and our 6 year old said it was the best bed ever, with “silky smooth sheets”, which we agreed with). There were extremely generous supplies and provisions in the kitchen and bathroom, carafes of mint water, candles and essential oil burners, flowers and beautiful leaves, chocolates, games, colouring pens and pencils... you name it! We cannot thank Nat and her family enough and will definitely return. Nat was incredibly speedy at communicating and very helpful in every way. Thanks so much!

There are several country pubs in the area, with the nearest being one mile away, offering excellent food.
  • Absolutely perfect stay at this beautiful B&B. Location is great - out the way of main roads but still only a short drive to lots of popular and beautiful places in the surrounding areas. Helen was a fantastic host, a really lovely lady and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. The room is stunning with views to match, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was very relaxing. I can not recommend this place highly enough - it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a relaxing stay in a beautiful location.

Meadow House is just a few hundred yards from the top of Totnes High Street but overlooks the lush countryside with views of the motte and bailey castle & Dartmoor. A large Grade II listed house was once which a small boarding school. Guests can walk out through the lush garden, out through a private meadow and through a gate to access a network of bridleways and lanes. Double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom together on the first floor with a view of the back garden and rolling hills.
Meadow House might have once been a school but it feels as if it were built for guests; with billowing light rooms and large Georgian windows with views in the distance of the famous Tors of Dartmoor It’s a wonderful place to stay but it likes to keep some of its secrets until you arrive. Madeline and Daniel and their two children have lived in Totnes for four years. There is a wealth of things to do in the local area; some of Britain's best beaches (20-30 mins drive) and Dartmoor (20 mins). We offer breakfast which at an extra cost of £7.50 a head (£3 for children) will be laid out with muesli, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee so you can help yourself. WiFi is freely available. We can do a wash or drying load which is £4 per use to cover expenses. There is a table in the garden you can sit on a sunny day and key to a gate to reach a woodland and bridleways at the rear. We hope you enjoy your break here.
We are just a stones throw from the top of the ancient Totnes high street with its historic medieval buildings and narrow lanes with Drift Record Shop, The Hairy Barista coffee shop, some lovely antique shops and Zero Waste England’s first no waste shop. We hope you have a fantastic stay and enjoy all the beautiful South Hams has to offer with spectacular beaches, rivers and moors all a short drive away. We have a list in the bedrooms to help you plan your time.

  • I would highly recommend this wonderful home. A minute from the high street with a great variety of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops and you can walk to the station in 10 mins. The house is beautiful, interesting, warm and has good energy. My room was spotless, the shower is the best hanger cure out and the bedding is of lovely quality. Maddy and Dan are so welcoming, engaging, authentic, kind and thoughtful. Their children and Maddy's Mum and dog are all really lovely and help create a relaxed and safe atmosphere. To me, this stay was the epitome of what Airbnb is all about (well maybe what is was to start with anyway!) Connecting people around the world based on trust and respect.

I fully share these values so it was an extension of what I do at home anyway. Marcea is a wonderfully warm and welcoming host, who is always there with a cup of tea waiting for you, while her two sweet pets are always ready to express their curiosity and love, Mr Stripey and Pickles, I will miss you! • I had a lovely restful few days staying with Marcea in her cosy home, which was full of character and had lovely artistic touches all over the house. Marcea was very relaxed and accommodating, and she has the most gorgeous cat! Would highly recommend staying there.

    Madeleine2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marcea is very warm, welcoming and easy and interesting to chat to and we so appreciated the lift from the station when our train was badly delayed. (Thanks a million Marcea!) There is a cosy and relaxing atmosphere in her home and we really appreciated the eco-awareness (extremely comfortable bed too and the basin in the room was a bonus). Her cat and dog are very sweet and well-behaved! An interesting part of Totnes to stay in and an easy walk into the town. Excellent value.

  • Marcea is wonderfully warm and her home is so welcoming and inviting. It's less than 10 mins walk from Totnes centre and in a lovely, quiet street. Marcea was really prompt to respond to questions before we arrived and was very flexible about checking in and out. She didn't bat an eyelid when I asked if she had any art materials to make a sign for an event I was taking part in, and was only too willing to help. We'd definitely stay there again.

    Tony2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • A warm and friendly welcome awaits! The location is great for Totnes Centre. It felt really homely!

    Julie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marcea was a wonderful host, thoughtful, kind and helpful, I’d certainly recommend her place to other travellers. Thank you!

    Anna2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Marcea was such a gracious host, collecting me from the station and looking after me in every way. Her house is so cute and comfy and really well situated to explore Totnes. She is a wealth of information about Transition Towns and XR and we had many good chats together. Totnes has a lovely atmosphere with their ancient roadways and Elizabethan museum and I spent a happy day wandering around the fabulous Dartington Estate listening to the summer music.

    Victoria2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Marcea is such a kind host! Her place is comfortable and homey, just a quick walk from the high street, and her animal companions are delightful.

My place is close to nature and culture, including beautiful gardens and events at Dartington Hall, walks along the lovely River Dart, great food & real ale at fourteenth century Cott Inn and all things friendly, fascinating and funky in Totnes. Drive for just half an hour to reach the sea, Dartmoor and the cities of Exeter & Plymouth... A tranquil sanctuary awaits you in our secluded garden room, in a purpose built and fully insulated, double glazed and heated cabin with electricity and wi fi.
I look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful home in Dartington, where I live and work, along with two beautiful and friendly cats. We live in a private courtyard just off 'Hunters Moon' and everyone who visits comments on how light, tranquil and beautiful our little place is. With a deep interest in ecology, arts and spirituality, I've tried to make the space is as natural as possible with solid wood furniture, cotton bedding and a top quality mattress! I love art, books and plants... so you'll find lots of all three to enjoy in our space. I have two rooms for long term guests in the house and a cabin in the garden for short term AirBnB. This listing is for this garden room, which is in a purpose built, cosy wooden cabin with a double sofa bed featuring a very comfortable sprung mattress. It's easy to fold away each morning if you wish, to give you a living room to enjoy during the day. We created the cabin to welcome family and friends and it's fully insulated, double glazed and heated - so lovely all year round and has electricity and wifi. There's hanging space and a blanket box for storage plus a lovely bamboo desk & shelves (with interesting books) - perfect for writing or journalling. It's just a short step into the house for breakfast and to use the ground floor bathroom, which is sometimes shared with one other guest (there is a second bathroom upstairs). The cabin has beautiful, big french doors opening into the garden. It soaks up the sun in the afternoon and evening and has its own personal patio area. The raspberry & strawberry bed is close by, so in July you can help yourself to add to your breakfast in the morning!
We live in a superb location in 'Hunters Moon' on the Totnes side of Dartington and from here you can walk into Totnes town or to the Dartington Estate and River Dart. Totnes is a fascinating community, whether you love history, nature, arts, ecology etc and the Sharpham Estate with its creative course & events is also nearby. Totnes is home to the Transition Movement and has everything from Buddhist centres to real Italian cafes! Dartington Hall has its own independent cinema, free access to lovely landscaped gardens and Estate walks, unusual places to shop, eat out and often courses, talks, music & other events. It's also home to Schumacher College. Our local pub (just 5 minutes walk from the door) is the fourteenth century Cott Inn, recently voted supreme winner of best pubs in Britain and has live music several nights a week and an outdoor kitchen. We also have a great local, artisan bakery within walking distance. Hunters Moon was an Edwardian Estate so has beautiful mature trees and shrubs, plus a modernist estate built by the Dartington Trust. In the unlikely event that you run out of things to enjoy in Dartington & Totnes, you can also go exploring further afield to the wilds of Dartmoor, the spectacular South Devon coast (including sandy beaches) or enjoy some city life in historic Exeter or Plymouth. We are on the bus route and walking distance or a short taxi ride from Totnes station. This is a great location for those taking courses around Totnes & Dartington. We regularly welcome guests doing all kind of interesting things including crafts, dance, forest gardening, macrobiotics, puppetry and more...
  • Samantha is a lovely host with a wide knowledge of the local area. Her garden cabin is quiet and cosy and very good value. I spent 2 very comfortable nights at her place in Dartington where I felt completely at peace and safe. Highly recommended!

    Peter2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A very good place stay. The cabin is snug and I really slept well. Everything a traveller wants is present in this delightful residence.

    Paul2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A small garden cottage with an couch that is convertable to a bed. It is very clean and nice details. For the bathroom and toilet you have to go in the main house, wich is ca. 6 meters walking. It is quit and relaxing. Bring slippers/flipflops so you can easily walk in the main house without shoes.

    Mirjam2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sam is a warm and welcoming host, always happy to answer questions and provide recommendations for the local area. Her home is incredibly peaceful, I slept wonderfully in the cabin which is a lovely self contained space. I highly recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful Devon stay.

  • Beautiful, very quiet and secluded place. Excellent place to relax and enjoy the countryside. Very welcoming and great welcome pamper filled with delicious foods.

  • Great place to stay and lovely area to visit for country walks.

    David2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning cottage situated in a real farm which far exceeded expectations. When we arrived, we were greeted by geese, guinea fouls, chickens and dogs - what a treat! Gill took the time to show us around the place, with instructions for how to use the Aga and wood burner. She had put up a small Christmas tree, pinned a wreath to the door and put together a welcome basket with fresh bread and eggs for us - simply perfect! The cottage is finished to a very high standard with underfloor heating, a beautiful kitchen and AGA cooker. We cooked a delicious Christmas dinner with ease. Thanks Gill!

    Richard2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Extremely well equipped, clean, cosy, lovely rural situation. Gill was the perfect host and there was even a Christmas tree - thank you.

  • We had the most wonderful stay at The Granary, Gill was lovely and welcoming, the accommodation and setting was just beautiful, the property has been finished to a high standard, lovely finishing touches - a perfect weekend away - highly recommend.

    Lauren2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Gill's place. Its in a great location - just 20-30 min drive from the amazing Blackpool Sands, in a very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Property was kept perfectly clean, tastefully decorated and furnished with everything that you could need for a comfortable stay. Communication and directions were always quick and clear too. Gill was very kind to offer high-chair, travel-cot, and stairs-gate for our little one without us having to ask for them. Our 18 month old son loved being there, with lots of space to run around and such a variety of farm birds to see. There are three lovely dogs and if you are bored you can play with them all day long. It was lots of fun to be there. We dont have anything to complain about and lots to remember and cherish. We would love to go back there for another holiday and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great holiday in south of Devon.

Best of both worlds; views of lush Devon countryside and Norman Castle but only a few yards from Totnes bustling medieval high street with its amazing coffee, independent shops and thriving market days. You will be staying in a Grade II listed family house once a boarding school. Dual aspect large bedroom on its own on the top floor, up a small staircase, with a double & single bed and a kettle to put on a brew. Shared but luxurious bathroom on the floor below with a roll top bath.
Meadow House is built for guests with large light spaces and stunning views in the distance of Haytor and Hound Tor of Dartmoor. It’s a wonderful place to stay but it likes to keep some of its secrets until you arrive. Madeline and Daniel and their two children will be happy to share local tips. There is too much to do with sandy beaches (20 mins drive) and Dartmoor (25 mins) and fantastic days and places to eat. There is a large lounge for relaxing and a table there for breakfast which at an extra cost of £7.50 a head (£4 for children) will be laid out with muesli, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee so you can help yourself. WiFi is freely available. There is a table in the garden you can sit on a sunny day and combination code to a padlocked gate to bridleways at the rear. We hope you enjoy your break here.
We are just a stones throw from the top of Totnes high street with its historic medieval buildings and narrow lanes with Drift Record Shop, The Hairy Barista coffee shop, some lovely antique shops and Zero Waste England’s first no waste shop. We hope you have a fantastic stay and enjoy all the beautiful South Hams has to offer with spectacular beaches, rivers and moors. Please ask for a list of our favourite things to do and where to eat.

A lovely double room in our family cottage. The room has a 4ft 6" double bed (small) and we can add an extra bed for an extra child/person. We welcome children of any age. We have a dog & a cat, the dog is not allowed upstairs. We are a musical home and can often be heard playing, though not late! We have parking. We provide coffee and tea in the room (or the kitchen!). Our price includes a continental breakfast and we can provide a cooked breakfast for a small additional charge.
Our home is situated on the A381 just 3 miles from the lovely market town of Totnes. There are fields and a babbling brook to the rear of the house. We are also 10 miles from both Kingsbridge and Dartmouth and 9 miles from Torquay. We are ideally placed between the moors and the ocean - with it being just 20 mins drive to many of South Devon's best beaches such as South Milton, Slapton, Bigbury, Bantham and Blackpool Sands
Harbertonford is a lovely village with a great little shop and post office plus a pub. Nearby Tuckenhay and Bow Bridge also have delightful pubs.
  • Thanks Saj and Lawrence! I was in the area for a wedding and needed somewhere to stay for the night that was nearby. Saj was really quick to reply to messages and really flexible fitting around my weird timings. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Totnes area :)

  • Saj and her family couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and is great value for money too. Great chats over breakfast and all in all an ideal Airbnb experience. And Badger the dog is a total sweetheart despite being easily excited 😆 I hope to stay again next time I’m in the area. Thanks again.

  • Saj and Lawrence are warm, friendly, lovely people, and make you feel very welcome in their home. The room was clean and comfortable. One caveat is that the toilet is on the ground floor, and the bedroom is on the first floor; this was not a problem for me, but might be an issue for people with mobility problems who would rather not have to descend stairs in the middle of the night if they need the bathroom!

This loft room is set in a lovely house just a 5 minute walk to the centre of vibrant Totnes. Totnes is an historic market town with its own Norman castle and bustling market on Fridays and Saturdays. The high street is full of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
Totnes has a vibrant, friendly community. There is so much to do and see here. We have our own independent cinema in the high street, two micro breweries as well as lots of cosy pubs and cafes. If you're into alternative therapies, you will be spoilt for choice here. Only a 30 minute walking trail away or 5 minute car ride is the world famous Dartington hall estate with its beautiful gardens, historic buildings, own cinema, cafe and restaurant, as well as an exciting programme of events throughout the year, including a literary festival, concerts, theatre and dance.
  • We had a lovely weekend stay and felt very at home. Kathryn and Guy's home is really clean and stylish with beautiful art on the walls. The loft room was very snug yet spacious. It is an easy walk into town and they were both full of tips and things you can do in the area to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. We would definitely recommend!

  • Kathryn house is very beautiful and the room is very cosy with an amazing view over Totnes hills! The position is ideal to walk into town and just 10 minutes away from the train station. Breakfast was provided with homemade, delicious jams and everything else needed!! I would recommend this place and I would love to go back some day!

  • Kathryn and Guy are excellent hosts and make you feel at home right away. They provided us with very valuable tips on things to see and do and had the best homemade jams for breakfast! The house is beautiful and rooms are very comfortable and clean. They are just a short 7-10 minute walk from the high street and very close to the station and main bus stops (~1mile). I would highly recommend staying here, I know I'll be back the next time :).
