Formerly a grain store and stable, sympathetically refurbished with lots of character. Modern kitchen and bathroom and a huge bedroom. Surrounding farmland and only 10 minutes walk to the market town of Crediton. Excellent base for exploring Devon. We have just completed a fabulous stables conversion which is also listed on air BNB, take a look and see which one you prefer.
The grain store is part of a partially converted set of barns. Bernie and Fran live in the Cart Shed across the courtyard. Opposite is another beautifully restored Air bnb listing called the stables. Inside the grain store has been refurbished to a high standard. Its a great place to relax or explore from. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen/breakfast bar/lounge area. Its a really cosy area with a stone wall, large beams, a wooden floor and comfy sofa There is a TV with freeview and DVD player. The modern wet room with shower and WC is on the ground floor. Upstairs is one huge space with a comfy double bed. The window looks over the Devon Hills, its lovely to wake up to. The staircase leads directly up into the bedroom so there is no bedroom door. Outside the barns are constructed of beautiful brickwork, slated roofs, stone patios, timber decking with seating areas to enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine or beer in the evening.
Chapel Downs Barn feels like a rural setting with countryside around, but it's only a 10 minute walk into town so you get the best of both. Situated in the rolling hills of Mid Devon its an ideal base to explore the rest of Devon.
  • We had an amazing 3 night stay at this lovely, cosy cottage. It was in a fantastic location and had everything you could wish for. I would fully recommend Fran and Bernie’s cottage to anyone who is looking for some relaxation and time away.

Lovely views of the Devon countryside from the house and garden. There are extensive portfolios in the house detailing our favourite pubs and restaurants, walks and days out.

The North Devon Link road, A361 is only a couple of miles away and being so centrally situated in the county it is superbly situated for visiting the sights over much of Devon.
  • Partridge Farm has been the perfect break for our group. Gorgeous views with such a cosy feel inside. The personal touches of freshly baked scones and a log fire definitely welcomed us to Devon, and were very much enjoyed after a days full of walking the beautiful surrounding areas. Was sad to leave and already planning our next visit.

  • This is a fab place to stay at any time of the year. The place is really well set up for group get togethers. There were 5 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog and we all had lots of space and easy relaxing and celebrating - in the hot tub during storm dennis, or in front of the fab fire in the lounge. We brought lots of food n drink and there was loads of room for storing, cooking and eating. Location is fab - overlooking a beautiful valley near tiverton, and within easy reach of exeter, and both north and south coasts. wish we’d been there longer!!

  • A beautiful house in the country. Perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Charlotte was a great host and so easy to communicate with. The house was spacious and perfect in every way. Would definitely go back, especially at Christmas!

  • Amazing weekend with friends in this beautiful farmhouse. We loved our stay; perfect Farmhouse with lots of lovely touches. We are already planning our next trip back to Partridge Farmhouse.

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Arriving at Partridge Farm on a soggy Friday afternoon we were warmly greeted by Charlotte who had thoughtfully lit the wood burner and left us a delicious cream tea with homemade scones. We were so impressed with the space in the cottage. All of the rooms are spacious and cosy and the beds are really comfy. The kitchen is also very well equipped and it’s lovely to stay somewhere where there are enough sofas for all of us! The hot tub was a real plus and seven of us enjoyed wallowing in the hot bubbles with our chilled bubbly. The surrounding area is pleasingly unspoilt with a real feeling of space and there are far reaching views from almost every room. There are lovely walks and characterful pubs nearby. We all loved our stay at Partridge Farmhouse and very much look forward to returning. Many thanks.

  • We had a wonderful weekend, thank you so much. Perfect weekend break with friends and babies!

  • The best property to book for a get together! Everything you need to cater for a large group, plenty of room for everyone, and views!!! Charlotte is a great host. Can’t wait to come back.

    Hannah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this cottage for our parents 30th wedding anniversary. The house very clean, warm and cosy. We really enjoyed our time here. Kitchen is fantastic and fully equipped with everything you'd need to cook/bake. Entire house was very clean and well decorated. The host Charlotte is gem of a person, so helpful and always willing to go extra mile to make your stay a little better. The added bonus and perfect surprise was freshly baked scones! Views are great! Especially loved the sun rise early in the morning across the hilly landscape covered in frost. would definitely like to come back again very soon.

Secluded country house in Devon. Beautiful views/garden. Covered pizza oven area. Large outdoor pool heated in summer (Heated out of season by arrangement) Fire pit. Outside Barbecue area. Floodlit table tennis. Scandinavian Wood Fired Hot Tub. Wendy house. Mud kitchen. Large convivial kitchen with Aga, gas hob and electric oven. Wood burner in large sitting room. Pubs in walking distance serve excellent food. Games cellar room with snooker, darts and "bar". Peaceful country walks.
Homecroft is a secluded, outlying house where guests can, if they choose, continue to self isolate. In recognition of guests concerns about coronavirus we will not carry out our usual meet and greet in person. In its place we have produced a series of short videos giving instructions on how to use certain items at the house: for example the wood fired hot tub. We will also be on hand by phone or WhatsApp to answer any questions guests may have. Cheriton Fitzpaine is a traditional Devon village originally listed in the Doomsday book. Although the large property has beautiful views over the village its nearest neighbour is 1/4 mile away. There are two traditional English country pubs within 10 minutes walking distance of the house. It is a quirk of the AirBnB system that it will only show a maximum of 16 beds. There are actually 20 beds at Homecroft. We supply all bedding but we do not supply towels. Homecroft has a lot of facilities: Large pool, barbecue area, covered pizza oven area, Fire pit, floodlit table tennis, small children's fenced play area with Wendy house and Mud Kitchen. Large indoor games room with air hockey, pool table and darts. Home croft has just had a new kitchen fitted which includes two separate pyrolitic electric ovens and a wine cooler in addition to the existing three fridges, gas hob and aga which are already in the house.
Traditional Devon farming village with old church and two traditional English country pubs within walking distance of the house. Beautiful extensive gardens and views from the house. Facilities include large games room with snooker, darts and air hockey; outside covered party area / pizza oven; large outside winter/summer fire pit (See pictures) Large outdoor swimming pool. (Heated in Summer) Floodlit all weather table tennis. Large wood fired Scandinavian hot tub. Very large convivial kitchen with Aga, gas hob and pyrolytic self cleaning electric oven. Similarly large sitting room with log burner. Fenced off small children's play area with mud kitchen and kiddies play house. There is a downstairs shower room an upstairs bathroom and shower room and an en suite bathroom in the master bedroom. Homecroft is only 15 miles (easy taxi journey) from the Exeter Chiefs rugby ground. Exeter Chiefs are now one of the most successful rugby teams in England and they offer a fantastic hospitality package on match days. They are also a venue for the IRB world Sevens tournament and many top flight European games. We supply all bedding but we do not supply towels. Homecroft has a partnership arrangement with Harefield Barn in Shute a village near to Cheriton Fitzpaine. Harefield can be googled. Homecroft provides accommodation while Harefield provide an exclusive location and facilities for weddings.
  • We had such a fantastic stay at Homecroft! A group of 13 of us stayed for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday and all left determined to visit again! We came from London (and Ireland), had no problem finding the house and were greeted warmly. The house is really beautiful and actually better than the photos (which were already great) suggest. The space is huge and we had everything we needed to cook big communal meals and lounge by the fire. We used all of the outside space - the pizza oven being a highlight! The views are just beautiful in Autumn but we'd love to come back in the Summer too. We had great communication from the hosts from start to finish.. Highly recommended!

    Rebecca2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • what a quality space for a large group, pool and hot tub in a perfect spot, great views and in a beautiful village, definitely going back.

  • Couldn't recommend this place enough. Great fun and fantastic host. Would definitely stay again

    Chase2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Iain was great, laid back and gave good tips about the local area. House was great, games room was perfect. Left to our own devices and no complaints even though we had quite the party. All in all perfect place to stay! Would highly recommend.

    Tom2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay with fantastic amenities and a great host.

    Sagar2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing ! Iain was a really friendly, helpful host and greeted us when we arrived and said goodbye upon departure, apart from that he left us to it. The views are stunning and the hot tub and pizza oven were massive hits. Definitely definitely recommend this house. THe only thing to note is that you pay for the wood you use to heat both. This is mentioned on the house page but the cost wasn't mentioned - we spent an extra £75 for the wood but between 17 of us this was no issue. Overall - great stay and great host.

    Adam2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, hot tub and animals were great, as was the pizza oven. We had to pay extra for the wood we burnt (it may well have been written down somewhere and I missed it) but it wasn't much at all. I can see it being great for stag and hens but also for family and friends get together. Highly recommended!

Little Silver Barn is a light and spacious self-contained barn conversion, situated on the edge of the pretty village of Thorverton in Mid Devon. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet just 15 minutes from the vibrant city of Exeter, it’s perfect for a peaceful break and ideally located for exploring the lovely county of Devon. The beautiful North and South Devon coastlines are accessible within an hour, as are Exmoor and Dartmoor. Easy access for the M5 - J27 & J28 are 20 minutes away.
The front door opens into a spacious ground floor open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area. Kitchen area includes microwave, single ring induction hob, electric steamer, toaster, kettle, fridge with ice box, cook and kitchenware, iron and ironing board. Comfortable lounge area with sofa and armchair, freeview television, DVD player, magazines and games. Upstairs there is a large, airy bedroom with double bed and wardrobe, and a shower room with basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Bed linen, towels and hairdryer are provided. Free WiFi and central heating throughout. Breakfast : A breakfast selection is provided in the barn for your stay - consisting of cereals, muesli and granola, breads, fresh fruit and juice, jams, marmalade, yoghurt, milk, teas, coffee and sugar.
Thorverton is a friendly, peaceful Devon village in the Exe Valley with thatched cottages and cobbled pavements- the village centre is just a three minute walk away. The village has two pubs - The Thorverton Arms (serves food) and the Exeter Inn. There is an excellent small village shop just a few minutes walk away, a Post Office and two churches. We also have a great farm shop a mile away. There are lovely walks and cycle paths to enjoy in the surrounding countryside. The Exe Valley Way is popular with walkers; a river valley walk between source and sea along the beautiful River Exe. There is so much to see and do in the area...sightseeing and shopping in historic Exeter, days at the beach, visiting historic houses and gardens or museums, art galleries and farmers markets, exploring the moors and the local market towns and enjoying a good meal and a drink at a nearby restaurant or pub - Devon has something for everyone!
  • Little silver barn is a lovely and quiet self contained cottage. It has been thoughtfully modernised with a cosy bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and kitchen/ living room downstairs. The bed is extremely comfortable and the linens and towels were very good quality. The kitchen has everything you need for basic meals, and the breakfast items provided were much appreciated. We enjoyed a nice meal at the ‘Beer Engine’ which was about a 10 minute drive away. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

  • A wonderful stay at Little Silver Barn. A very welcoming host and a very clean and homely place to stay. I was very surprised to find the cupboards and fridge stocked to provide breakfasts, soup, and even shortbread biscuits in the tin! Lots of lovely touches like fresh flowers on the table. Highly recommended.

It is immaculately clean, and very comfortable. We couldnt of asked for more for a stay for our weekend, especially the range of items provided for breakfast! Katie's communication is second to none too, with clear precise directions on how to get to the barn in the middle of beautiful Devon! We will recommend to anyone who wants to go to Devon. Winner 2017 Muddy Award for Best Devon Glamping, Clover is a completely unique space. Custom built and kitted out with only lovely things. Set in 4 acres of Devon orchard, Meadow and woodland this really is the perfect space to relax and reconnect with each other. Because we are so rural, the skies are very dark so we provide a telescope for sitting out and stargazing around the fire pit. Wander into the woodland and find hammocks for dreaming near the pond. At the bottom of the woods is another fire pit with a built in pizza oven, near our resident moon gazing hare. We have a bespoke bench built around the old oak tree to lean against and while away.
Surrounded by quintessential Devon villages with a good selection of pubs on any of the beautiful walks in the area. Close to the famous Lazy Toad, with its great reputation for food. We are between two rivers, the Exe and the Culm with stunning river walks, wild swimming and plenty of local wildlife.
  • My partner and i needed to get away for a bit. This was a lovely place to reconnect. Andy and Lucy are super friendly and helpful. Boris the cat was on duty and very welcoming too along with the chickens who came to check us out. Absolutely loved it. We didn’t have a car but it is easy enough to get to via bus. If you like animals and outdoors this is the place, it was cosy and quiet. It will be brilliant in the summer but even when it rained we had fun! Thanks again :))

  • We had a wonderful weekend in Clover. There were cakes on arrival and Boris the cat joined us which we loved. Lucy and Andy were great hosts. They set the hot tub up for our arrival which was lovely. Clover was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Thanks again!

  • Thank you so much for an amazing weekend! We arrived late Friday night with the hot tub fired up and ready to go with some shortbread, such a nice touch! The hot tub was so nice and relaxing, didn't take too long to heat up as it kept most of the heat from the night before, sat in for hours with some wine, the cat even came to keep up company. We went to The Agriculture Inn which used to be the lazy toad which is amazing, food was so good we went back the day after for more. Lucy was very quick to respond to any questions and made sure we had everything we needed, Andy also came out and helped when we had a problem with the gas. We will definitely be booking again in the near future

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay! The area is so lovely to walk around with lots of little pubs and the wagon was such a lovely cosy place to come back to!

    Jess2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clover the converted Woodstock is amazing! The space is cosy but has everything you need. The bed gave us two good nights sleep and the hot tub was a lovely way to unwind. Top tip, read the instructions for the hot tub, it needs stirring to get all the water at equal temperature! Andy and Lucy were great hosts, we had lovely shortbread on arrival and they were quick with any queries we had. They also generously gave us an early check in and a later check out which was fantastic. The orchard is a lovely place to wander around and the cabin has a resident cat who is a lovely companion if you choose to let her in! Would love to stay again.

    Cat2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • Do yourself a favour and book a stay in Myrtle Cottage! It’s the cosiest, most relaxing place you can think of! Quite a resemblance to the cottage in the movie The Holiday, as my partner described it. James and Kate are perfect hosts and provides lots of nice info and tips for staying in lovely Cheriton Fitzpaine. Also, I made the BEST lasagna ever in their Everhot oven. Highly recommended.

  • Another lovely restful weekend at Myrtle cottage.

  • Lovely cottage, great host, I highly recommend it.

    Tim2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Myrtle cottage for my birthday weekend.. The the communication with James was first rate, the cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped, well located and James' tips about good food in the local pub and a heads up about the great village shop were invaluable. There were plenty of logs for the fire which was great seeing as it was November!. The Everhot range was also fantastic for keeping the whole place warm. Lovely part of the world and the most fantastic pub ever! Will definitely be back!

    Mary2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • I promise you you wont fault this place! The cottage is immaculate, charming and really feels like a home. After the first night we almost forgot we didn’t really live here. James was an amazing host, attentive, responsive and very kind. The village itself was full of kind and friendly people. Everyone we met was keen to stop and say hello. Myrtle Cottage is just beautiful and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Such a cosy, friendly and welcome break.

The pod is nestled into a beautiful valley just 2 miles out of Crediton. It is hand made by master craftsman Bert and provides a stunning little get away or romantic retreat for two. Its beautiful and unusual shape gives you a very cosy sleeping experience. The views are stunning and show rural Devon at its finest. Our mini small holding has chickens, pigs and two friendly cats so is perfect for animal lovers There is an abundance of local wildlife to be spotted.
For extra warmth there is a wood burner and electric heater. The pod is a self-contained space with a kettle, toaster and BBQ facilities (charcoal can be bought from us). There is a space in the front of the pod with deck chairs and a fire bowl (wood and fire lighting material provided). You also have your own private compost loo and you are more than welcome to use the main bathroom in the house for a bath/shower. Simple breakfast provided. It is a great location for exploring the market town of Crediton. Exeter is a 20 minute drive and it is a 30 minute drive to Dartmoor. Both the North and South coast can be accessed in 40 minutes. We love it here and we hope you will too. p.s remember to bring suitable footwear and a torch!

  • This place is even better than it looks- cosy, peaceful and laid back, with lots of little touches that make it feel really special. The pod itself is pretty amazing, and Carolan was a lovely host.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Carolan's place. The wooden pod is very comfy and cosy with a small stove inside. There was a lot of amenities we could use, so we had a nice bbq. It's very quiet and peaceful around so it's an ideal place for having a rest and sneak out of the crowded city. Carolan left us a delicious cake and an amazing breakfast in the little fridge outside! We're very happy we could stay at Little Gut for a one night and regret we couldn't stay longer.

  • A lovely place, just off the main road but so quiet, could of been a million miles from civilisation, close to Crediton and other places like Exeter, Topsham, Exmouth not too far away also. Love the chickens, pigs and peace and quiet, I would defo stay there again, highly recommended

My place is close to restaurants and dining, public transport, nightlife, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the light, the comfy bed, the kitchen, and the cosiness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
This lovely room is freshly decorated and leads to a comfortable en-suite with sink shower and loo. It has a mirrored wardrobe and chests of drawers and a TV for my guests. Tea and coffee and a kettle are provided in the room.
My home is in a quiet area with off road parking garden a patio area and decent views. I am 10 mins from the local high street with shops restaurants pubs buses etc 5mins from a park and woodland for enjoyable walks. It is 20min bus or drive from Exeter, about an hours drive from both the north and south Devon coasts.
  • Wendy is an amazing host - warm, calm and friendly. I instantly felt at home. Beautifully decorated home. The room and ensuite were cosy and spacious. I was in the area for work and always looked forward to coming back to Wendy's home.

  • I was greeted upon arrival by Wendy's cat Gizzy, who turned into my new best friend during my short stay in Crediton. This is a lovely Air BNB close to all the local amenities and is lovely and quiet, I slept very well!

  • Wendy has an immaculate home. She is warm and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the dogs and cats. The room itself was bigger than expected and a both it and the ensuite were stylish and immaculate. The different teas and fresh milk were a thoughtful addition.

  • Wendy is very attentive and generous. The room and the bathroom as in the photos. The bed very comfortable. The three dogs and the cat very affectionate. Despite the pets the house is very clean. Would go back without hesitation both for short stays as long.

This is a newly refurbished Annexe - light and airy with a new shower room and adjoining WC. There are tea and coffee making facilities with essentials provided, and a fridge for your convenience. The property is situated ten minutes from Tiverton and two minutes from the A361 - the main route in to North Devon and Exmoor, and North Cornwall. Extra service: we welcome your dog at an extra charge of £5 per night. If there is more than one dog, please chat to us first
The property is situated on the edge of Exmoor in an elevated south facing position with stunning views towards Dartmoor. It has a large level dog proof garden and no near neighbours. Rolling farmland and woodland are a feast for the eyes!
The property is positioned midway between the two villages of Stoodleigh and Oakford, both pretty villages with pubs and churches. The area is tranquil and rural with spectacular views - yet not isolated. Tiverton is a ten minute drive away with shops and supermarkets and a railway station. There are many walks from the property - particularly of interest to those guests that bring their canine friends!
  • We stayed here for 4 months after we sold our house before moving to the Midlands. As a long let, Sarah added extra amenities i.e. a fridge, armchairs, microwave, heater to make our stay during the winter months cosy and homely. The accommodation was cleaned weekly with fluffy fresh towels. Sarah was a great host, contacting us regularly to make sure we were happy. The views were amazing and we would not hesitate to recommend Sarah’s place for short or long stays.

    Karen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed just one night at Sarah’s place as I was going to a friend’s party nearby, so unfortunately I didn’t spend that much time there. It is a really lovely place, with fabulous views from the deck outside the room; it would be perfect for a longer stay especially in the summer when you could sit out there in the evenings! The room itself was great, with a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a decent TV (which I didn’t watch but did use as a radio while I was getting ready to go out). The small lobby area has a kettle, fridge and the makings of tea and coffee, and there is a beautiful shower room and separate toilet. Everything is stylishly decorated in relaxing tones, and was sparkling clean.

Corner cottage is situated within the sleepy village of Puddington. A quirky cottage with original features and a home from home with all you need to enjoy your stay. Well behaved dogs are allowed. There is no garden but plenty of country lanes right on the doorstep. The cottage, however, has a very steep staircase so may not be suitable for all. Towels are included and basic items such as hand soap, etc are also provided. Please note departure is 10.00 and this then allows time for next guests.
Situated between Exmoor and Dartmoor, the two moors way is perfect for walkers and cyclists alike. A short distance away is the town of Tiverton with good connection to the M5 motorway. Puddington is quiet and peaceful offering the ideal getaway.
Close by is the town of Tiverton. Good access to the North Devon Coast.

  • Had a lovely stay at Corner Cottage. The cottage is in a great location. Puddington is a lovely village and Tiverton isn't far away for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Karen the host was really friendly, she put up a Christmas tree and decorations for us which was a very thoughtful touch. Yes the stairs are steep but there are lots of railings to grab hold of to help you up and down. Large bedrooms, very warm and lots of character this cottage has it all. Will be back for sure.

  • Stayed at corner cottage for the weekend. It’s a beautiful place and the location is great if you want a nice relaxing place to go. It was spotlessly clean and a real home from home. Everything you could need is there for you. Would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful cottage with lots of character.

    Paula2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Puddington. The cottage is charming, and the facilities are good. No WIFI and no phone signal - so for those for whom the internet is essential, probably not the place for you. Bedrooms are large and bed was comfy with good quality linen. Would most certainly stay again. N.B. stairs are very steep.

Characterful three storey cottage forming the end part of our 300 year old Devon cob Farmhouse. The cottage features a modern kitchen, huge Inglenook fireplace with log burner, luxurious wool carpets, low beams, big squashy sofa and a superking size master bed with pretty adjoining twin room on the very top floor. The cottage's own garden has two decked seating areas. Set in glorious rolling countryside near Dartmoor, Devon's gorgeous sandy beaches and the vibrant cathedral city of Exeter.
Higher Hollacombe Cottage is the semi detached end section of our traditional cob walled Devon farmhouse. Set in a valley amidst glorious rolling countryside away from main roads it's private garden is a peaceful place to relax and spot deer, foxes, rabbits, sparrowhawks, buzzards, badgers and bats. Inside, Higher Hollacombe Cottage has wooden beams and a wonderful Inglenook fireplace with real woodburner for cosy nights in. The kitchen has double french doors opening onto a small pretty decked area with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Further down the garden is another seating area with comfortable cushioned sofa and chairs to relax in and soak up the birdsong. If you're feeling more energetic there is a public footpath immediately behind the house which leads up a steep hill to the most spectacular views for miles around, from Dartmoor to Sidmouth! A small cottage staircase leads to the first floor main bedroom and it's luxurious super king size bed with new Tempur mattress. From this room another small staircase leads up to the open plan second floor bedroom with two single beds. Our family farmhouse and Higher Hollacombe Cottage are set in a quiet valley at the very end of a farm lane which we share with two other houses. We are a family home that enjoys the countryside and keep our own hens so you may get a fresh egg or two depending upon when you arrive! Higher Hollacombe cottage is a secluded and peaceful spot yet only a mile outside the bustling market town of Crediton with all it's amenities.
Quiet Devon Countryside, lots of birds and wildlife, so quiet and dark at night your ears tingle if you're not used to it!

Penelope was fantastic at responding to messages and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed with our 2 children who loved it! We also went to a fantastic pub only a short drive away (as recommended by Penelope) called ‘The Duck’ at Yeoford. Loved our stay... thank you

Our little Grade II listed cottage is small, quirky and over 300 years old. It's in Crediton, a well-connected market town in Mid Devon. It's well-placed for Exmoor, Dartmoor, Exeter and North Devon. It's a terraced cottage with no garden, but we have a nearby allotment. There's an outside shed to store bikes. The town centre is a few minutes walk away. And there are lots of countryside walks starting just a few minutes away from our house.
Our place is a small, simple base to use whilst visiting local friends, sightseeing, walking, cycling or exploring. There's a log-burning stove in the lounge, and an old Aga in the kitchen, which keeps the cottage cosy. The bedroom is small but functional. It has a single Ikea bed, which can be pulled out into a low down double if there's two of you. As a double, it means there's not much floorspace left in the bedroom -- but as a base to stay while you're out during the day it should be fine. There's a small desk space, and a place to hang clothes. The floor is a bit wonky -- it's an old cottage. There's a shared bathroom with a shower over the bath. The shower is off the taps -- it's not a power shower, and the pressure is quite low, but it does the job. There's a big table in the kitchen for meals / relaxing / planning your travels. You're welcome to make tea / coffee and help yourself breakfast in the morning. One of us can show you how to use the Aga. The kitchen has a toaster and kettle (on the Aga), a fridge, and cafetiere. The lounge is generally not for guest use, but has a log burner which we can put on when it's cold. The house has no garden, but there's a shed to put bikes in. The shed is in the shared but privately accessed alleyway between our house and our neighbour. We have an allotment (it's a work in progress...) a couple of minutes away which we can show you around if you're interested and the weather is ok! The front of the house faces directly onto a narrow road. Depending on when you stay, you may hear schoolchildren walking to the nearby school in the morning, or the early rubbish bin collection, or late-night pub goers. Other than that, it's a quiet road.
Crediton is a small market town in Mid Devon, and has a strong community feel. There's a farmers' market in the town square every other Saturday, and there's a selection of coffee shops, pubs and shops. There's a park, and a leisure centre with pool. It's well connected to Exeter, Barnstaple and beyond via car, bus and train. If you want to go to Dartmoor or Exmoor you'll be best off using a car.
  • Hosts are lovely and very welcoming. Didn't feel like I was treading on any toes whilst being there- would readily stay again, thank you!

  • Great Hosts! Beautiful house! Fantastic central location! What wonderful hosts and a wonderful stay I had! The hosts are absolutely lovely and made me feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. The room I stayed in was a lovely relaxing space - well designed and had a lovely feel. A nice comfy bed with extra blankets if needed and even a hot water bottle! The house is beautiful and full of character and was a joy to stay. I was spoilt with cups of tea and an amazing breakfast. The hosts know Crediton well and I was very interested to hear the local history of it. They recommended a good route for me to go for a morning run. The area is lovely - lots of cafes & shops near by, beautiful church and beautiful hills close too. I had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again, thank you very much for having me!

We stayed in January when it was freezing cold outside and we kept lovely and warm!! Cooking on the wood burner was a great experience. All in all couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away!

  • We had a lovely stay at robs place. The weather was unfortunate but we stayed really warm inside the hut. Perfect place to relax and not worry about anything. Loved cooking on the wood burning stove and also really appreciated the gas ring for a quick cup of tea. Very peaceful and we saw a pheasant or two walk by! Rob is a great host and I would recommend highly for a real quiet break

Spacious and comfortable self-contained accommodation with expansive south facing views of the quiet Devon countryside. Consisting of the converted first floor of a historic farm building, The Granary is conveniently located close to Exmoor, Dartmoor and north and south coast beaches. The property has a double and twin bedrooms, bathroom (bath with shower), kitchen (oven, washing machine and fridge) and living room with dining area. Private garden with space to park two cars.
The space is entirely self contained and private.
We are in a rural location conveniently placed just 10 minutes outside Tiverton. Tiverton is a medium sized market town with a mainline trainline into London Paddington, remains of medieval castle, supermarkets, weekly centuries old Pannier market, a new swimming pool and plenty of parkland. Gold Street is the independent shop quarter and there are a plethora of cafes to enjoy. We enjoy visiting 'Knightshayes' National Trust property only 10 mins away on the outskirts of Tiverton and the wonderful parkland and gardens there. Beautiful and historic Exeter is 40 mins away. Barnstaple is 40 mins away. Taunton is 35 mins away. Alternatively you may simply enjoy a 40 min stroll into Rackenford to sample the delights of 'The Stag' Inn, delicious food served at the latter end of the week. We are close to National Cycle Route 3 between Lands' End and Bristol, which passes through beautiful Dulverton on the edge of Exmoor (20 mins away). Our favourite coastal locations are Lynton/Lynmouth on the north coast (1 hour), and family beach at 'Putsborough' beach near the surfing havens at Croyde and Woolacombe (just over an hour). Child-friendly activities are plentiful, our favourites being the 'Devon Railway Centre' at Bickleigh Mill and 'Quince Honey Farm' just near South Molton. Both have inside and outside activities in case of inclement weather. We are excellently places for craft courses held at ‘The Bulworthy Project’ . However, one of the best things to do with little ones is a short walk down our pretty quiet lane to paddle at the little stream at the end! We've compiled a folder containing local activities and sights of interest for you to browse through when you arrive.

Self-contained apartment at end of large farmhouse - with its own separate access and parking, kitchen / living room, double bedroom, bathroom and utility with washer and dryer. Superfast broadband, Sky TV including Movies, Sky Sports and BT Sport. Outside table, chairs and barbecue. There are extensive portfolios in the house detailing our favourite pubs and restaurants, walks and days out.
Very light, airy apartment for X2 with well equipped kitchen area and generous living space. Gas-fired stove in addition to central heating makes the living area super-cosy in winter. Very unusual indeed for rural Devon is the availability of fibre broadband! For the rainy days the full Sky TV package is a real bonus! The kitchen area is equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge / ice box, dishwasher, mixer, toaster etc. and everything to enable you to cook with ease. The utility room has an automatic washing machine and separate tumble drier. There is a large TV. A Bluetooth speaker lets you play your own music. WiFi is available throughout the apartment.
Very centrally situated in Mid-Devon. Rural and peaceful. 5 minutes drive from North Devon Link road, A361 giving excellent links to M5, North Devon coast etc. 10 minutes from Tiverton with supermarkets etc.

  • A beautiful and modern flat in a great countryside location. Very comfortable with great facilities and friendly and helpful hosts!

  • What a fabulous place! My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks ‘working from home’ but in this lovely Airbnb. The WiFi made it possible but the thoughtful details made it a home from home. We both worked at the table after extending it out and had no trouble. Plenty of pubs nearby and there’s plenty of info about the pubs and also walks and things to do. Kitchen was super, underfloor heating in the bathroom was delicious, the bed was warm and comfy, the washing machine was great, everywhere was so clean, plenty of parking and we even snuck our bikes into the barn outside. It was a bit hilly for cycling in my opinion but my husband went out most days. There’s so much of Devon to see from this base, we would come back and do it all over again! Also communication was quick and lovely and we were met in person on arrival. Can’t fault anything!

A 2 bedroom mews, located just 20 minutes from Devon’s regional capital of Exeter, in the small town of Crediton. Whether you are taking a quick trip to see family, taking a break to get lost in a good book and relax indoors, dine out at one of the many eateries and pubs just a stones throw from the property, or explore everything this culturally rich neighbourhood has to offer. Breathe a sigh of relief as you feel at peace kicking off your shoes in your home away from home.
We occasionally live in the property, so there may be some personal belongings. But we want you to feel at home during your stay so we keep this to a minimum, and lock them out of site when possible...
The property is located just off the town Market Square which hosts fortnightly farmers’ markets, and many annual events. There is also a fantastic pub/restaurant on your doorstep open from 12pm-11pm. Near by there are also many coffee shops/pubs/restaurants and takeaways to enjoy.
  • We have just spent 2 nights at Jakes cottage. Its a cosy comfortable cottage in a great location and has everything you need. Jake responded very quickly to any questions we had. We would recommend the accomadation and am sure we will return.

  • Great location in heart of Crediton, close to all amenities. Very interesting and unusual pub a few yards away. Property was exactly as described in listing - well equipped and comfortable. Parking was not an issue (plenty on free unrestricted on-street space a few minutes away). Problem with heating was resolved very quickly over the phone by Alex. Would definitely recommend.

We love living in the beautiful Devon countryside and sharing our family home with guests. Our self-contained annex is a rural retreat with stunning views and good access to Exeter, Tiverton and Crediton. The private garden basks in afternoon sunlight where you'll see plenty of cows and sheep in the distance with swallows and swifts overhead. We have new Christy 100% cotton towels and luxury 100% cotton bed sheets. There's a range of books and games in the sitting room.
The space is a self-contained annex in our 1930's farmhouse. There is a lovely garden outside which has great lunch and dinner time sunshine and views. The annex has a sitting room with log burner; bedroom with double bed and wardrobe; kitchen with oven and hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster etc.; and bathroom with a shower over the bath (which is a small shallow bath). There is also a washing machine and a large porch where laundry can be aired. As we live on site we are around to answer any questions.
We live about a mile outside Thorverton, a pretty village in the Exe valley. The neighborhood is quiet and the property has beautiful views. Exeter, Tiverton and Crediton are within easy reach with a car and offer a good range of services and supermarkets. Thorverton has two pubs, a village shop, post-office and farm shop.
  • The cute cottage, located on a country lane, has all the amenities needed including washing machine and dishwasher. In the evening and night it is wonderfully quiet. If it is a bit fresh, the electric heating brings heat quickly. Great location to explore the Dartmoor and surroundings. It's a shame we didn't meet Hazel (Nigel).

Thorndon House Garden Room is a light and airy room, with its own entrance, separate from the main house. The Garden Room is self contained with an ensuite (power shower), kitchen area with fridge, microwave and tea/coffee facilities (no cooker/hob). We are in a beautiful rural location, yet only 4 miles from Exeter city life! Stunning views of the Culm Valley from the garden. Ideal location if you fancy wild swimming or country walks. Courtyard view from the bedroom.
The Garden Room is a spacious room (own entrance and handy hallway) with two lovely windows overlooking the courtyard. It is light and airy and very comfortably accommodates 2 people and possibly 3 if you have a child ( easily big enough for a travel cot or a single mattress for an older child / adult but of course floor space reduces). The Garden Room is part of Thorndon House which was formerly a rectory built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The Garden Room has a comfy double bed with fresh linen, a snuggle blanket, cushions and a table with two chairs and also a comfy armchair. There is a microwave in case you would like to cater for yourselves in the evening with a micro meal or a spud. Alternatively, do order my homemade aga pizzas (variety of flavours) and a pudding for £12.50 each. There is also a 32" TV for you to enjoy. The bathroom has a small sink, toilet and shower. Towels are provided. Tea and coffee facilities in each room with fresh milk (skimmed) in the fridge for your drinks and cereal. Breakfast is stored in the cupboards where you will find a small selection of cereals. There is a toaster in your room so please do bring any bread of your choice. Some guests prefer a simple breakfast which is included in the cost. If you prefer a full cooked English Aga breakfast or alternatives please do ask for the menu choices before you arrive (@ £10 each). I will need at least 24 hours notice and subject to availability. I will always do my absolute best to meet your requests! X There is no wardrobe but there are hooks and hangers for you to hang dresses, coats, jackets suits etc.. The room is in a fabulous location to go walking as there are miles and miles in all directions! There is a great walk along the River Exe to a wonderful pub The Agricultural Inn in Bramford Speke or if you are feeling energetic there are walks to Silverton village or Thorverton. The very local village pub "Stoke Canon Inn" has been visited by many guests who have all mentioned how friendly it was. Stoke Canon inn have regular entertainment and serve food but not on a Monday. The pub is only a half mile down the road so very walkable. I would be very happy to point you in the right direction if you fancy a good walk. Maybe even a walk to the National Trust Killerton House. You have wifi in the room, however, it is slow at times. Wifi is available and you will find the password in the information booklet in your room. Wifi reliability is typically rural and can be slow.
Rewe is a lovely village with very kind and friendly residents. We have stunning views over the countryside towards Killerton and the River Culm with a lovely stone bridge. During the late spring and summer months our closest neighbours are the dairy cows who often come and say hello at the fence until the children come out! We have plenty of lovely birds flying around!! Wild swimming opportunities very close by! Very happy to point out a few local hot spots! X
  • Convenient location for Exeter and region. Easy to find due to good directions and signage. You park at the door of your room and it is warm and welcoming The community pub in the next village is a gem, convivial and serves excellent pub food.

  • The Garden room at Thornton House is perfectly situated to explore this beautiful part of Devon. Step outside of the apartment and you can see for miles across fields and hills. There’s a regular bus service to Exeter as well if you don’t want to drive into the city. Jenni is a very thoughtful host as there was everything needed to make coffee and tea and other extras too. All in all a very comfortable room.

  • Thank you for such a lovely comfortable stay. The bed was really comfy when silky soft bedding. There were so many lovely touches, including pillow spray, hot water bottles and lovely tea selection. Jenni was a wonderful host, responsive, and made us the most delicious pizzas and breakfast. Highly recommended.

    Claire2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Room is a lovely bolthole in the East Devon countryside. We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting relatives in the area, and couldn't fault it. The room is snug, but very comfortable, quiet, cosy and wonderfully clean! Jenni provided everything we needed for a short break; right down to tea, coffee, breakfast cereal and milk in the little kitchenette area at the back of the room, and a jar of biscuits which were a lovely treat after a long journey by rail! There were plenty of extra utensils and a toaster and microwave to help us prepare snacks during our stay too, and although there are no substantial cooking facilities, Jenni will provide a home-cooked pizza or English breakfast if you book in advance. We didn't take advantage of this option, but there's always next time! The location is fantastic, in lovely countryside, but close enough to the centre of Exeter to be easily accessible by car and public transport, and there are so many places to visit nearby, you will never be short of things to see and do! The check in process was very easy and Jenni was extremely helpful and replied to any queries quickly. We had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to book with Jenni again when we return to the Exeter area.

The Linhay is a cosy, thatched cottage for two set on an idyllic smallholding in rural mid-Devon. It has been a Sawdays "Special Place"and was listed by the Daily Telegraph as one of "Britain's 10 coolest B&Bs". There are rocking chairs, a log burner, a spiral staircase leading to the mezzanine bedroom, a (vinyl) record player and a private balcony for al-fresco dining. Home-made bread awaits your arrival, and a cooked breakfast is included. Delicious home made suppers are available on request.
The Linhay is a cosy, detached cottage, ideal for a romantic weekend for two. It is private and self contained and, although there are no cooking facilities, it does include a kitchen area equipped for making tea, coffee and toast as well as a (silent) small fridge. There are two rocking chairs in front of a woodburning stove and a vinyl record player with eclectic selection of music. We provide logs for the woodburner and plenty of additional heating. There's a modern shower room and, up a narrow spiral staircase to a mezzanine, there is a double bed tucked under the eaves.
The Linhay is set in quiet and peaceful rural mid-Devon down a farm track with no near neighbours. It is a short drive from great walking on Dartmoor or Exmoor and the North Devon coast is an hour away. The cathedral (and university) city of Exeter is easily accessible.
  • A lovely property for a relaxing stay. We were here for a wedding but would definitely stay again just for a relaxing weekend. The cottage is beautiful, but the stay is made by the hosts Holly and Andrei. They are incredible and genuinely can’t do enough for you. Highly recommended.

  • We loved our wonderfull and romantic stay and we spontaneously fell in love with the beautiful cottage and surroundings. Holly and Andrei are lovely hosts.

  • Amazing place to chill for a couple of nights. Definitely purchase the home-cooked salmon and dark chocolate mousse. The fresh bread is the best I’ve ever tasted! If you like a glass of wine with a book (and animals) you’ll love this venue!

    Amanda2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Linhay is a truly unique, stylish and special holiday cottage. The hosts, Holly and Andrei couldn't be more helpful and friendly, they make the perfect hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the tastiest of cooked breakfasts each morning and the best belly pork supper we have ever had, both from their own free range and so well cared for rare breed pigs. We would highly recommend The Linhay, a superb rural retreat!

    Julie2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for an amazing mini-moon! We were looking for a bolt hole to escape for a few days and that’s exactly what we got! Holly and Andre were perfect hosts, picking us up from Copplestone and returning us there on check-out (although we walked there each other time - 20 mins) and the breakfast was amazing! We also had supper on the second night and we can’t stop talking about the pork belly! We are an active couple so walked (most of the way) to Lapford one evening before hopping on a train for the last bit, had an excellent meal at the Old Moat Scoop and the landlady dropped us home. We then did another big walk across the moors from Scorhill to Kestor Rock and back through Gidleigh as well as a rainy visit to Hound Tor. A perfect stay in a perfect location!

  • The Linhay is a really magical retreat, we loved it so much we were tempted to spend our whole trip in the cottage enjoying the cosy wood burner and views! Lovely space for a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the farm, and our hosts included lots of special extra touches including fresh bread and apple juice and really great breakfast. Close to Exeter for day trips. We will be back.

  • After a short but adventurous drive down a narrow country track, that would appear to lead nowhere, you happen across a relaxing idle and a warm welcome. The thatched cottage is a very well done, relaxing space. A small kitchen area, deck and lounge seating area, with a bedroom space in the mezzanine above. Though the garden wander chickens and ducks, with very friendly sheep and pigs in the fields beyond. The fresh air, open space and welcoming hosts and animals encouraging an atmosphere of calm relaxation. This place is ‘a find’, a bolt hole, an escape; and one to which we shall return if only to once again spend a late night, sat upon the deck, enjoying the staggeringly large and beautiful, star filled sky.

The village is well served with two shops, a pub and the newly opened French Restaurant La Petite Bouchée (as featured on Hidden Restaurants with Michel Roux Jr on Channel 4. www.lapetiteboucheebrasserie.co.uk). • Lovely studio in the heart of a truly wonderful and authentic Devon village. A highlight of our visit was a meal in the Stag Inn in nearby Rackenford - highly recommended.

  • thank you for another great stay Jules! If I could live at Two Moors Retreat I think I probably would! I just need to bring the weather with me next time, and hopefully be around when the Art Cafe is open as it looks brilliant. You've done a wonderful job with the place and I hope Withyridge as a whole appreciates you as much as I do 😊

  • We had a lovely 2 night stay in Witheridge. The stay was comfortable and we loved the added extras of scones and coffee/tea. We will be back!

  • We had a wonderful stay. We got a good tip to eat in a local pub. There are a lot of walking books and folders for nice trips to make. The stay is located between 2 national parks. Both very beautiful! If you are a nature person who likes to walk, this is a good base. We were immediately received hospitably. We had the feeling that we could easily ask for everything and at the same time have our private. Really great! A nice extra: there is a nice, curious cat.

    Enid2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place - hostess next door. All facilities functional. Even the TV remote was easy to get on with. Very close to shopping too. Enjoy your stay.

come stay in a dreamy log cabin situated in its own setting of wild flowers and woodland. Enjoy your own personal space where the most you'll be disturbed by are the song birds. Sustainably made from the surrounding woodland and keeping the environmental impact to the minimum. You'll be transported back in time where a wood fire will keep you cosy and warm. Dogs are welcome.
The log cabin is situated in the beautiful Devon English countryside where you will be the only people staying in 10 acres of woodland and flowers where you can forage for mushrooms or herbs, enjoy the beauty of the wild flowers and natural vegetation. Your own space - on your own - is a key feature and there are many beautiful local walks.
  • This place is amazing. If you want to escape it all, you have to stay here. Authentic and cosy, such a special vibe. Thanks Rob

    Charlotte2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is phenomenal. We had a great feeling as soon as we booked it and it surpassed our expectations. We were welcomed with a warm greeting from Rob who gathered all of our things on the back of a trailer (including us and our dog) and drove us through his family's property to the cabin. He had already fired up the wood burner for us, ensuring we were warm upon arrival. We wanted to spend a few days secluded from the outside world and the cabin really delivered. Isolated and surrounded by nature, with all the firewood we needed. All the kitchen utensils are supplied and the water gets so hot. Great for a bath after a long day exploring. Our dog is a rescue and has quite a nervous disposition so she can be quite territorial but she was so happy exploring freely and was very relaxed in and around the cabin. We met Rob's parents who were equally as sweet and welcoming. They talked to us about the surrounding area and farm life and even sharpened our whittling knife. They are all so sweet and easy to talk to. Very helpful. They have created a really nice place here. Thanks! We don't have a negative thing to say. If you're looking for a secluded cabin in the woods and somewhere for your dogs to explore freely, this is it.

    Lee2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve had the pleasure of staying in both of the cabins that Rob has lovingly hand-built. Both are as equally wonderful and unique, and both are a shining example of his fabulous flare for rustic craftsmanship. They are, quite simply, a little slice of heaven tucked perfectly into the countryside. Rob and his family are THE best hosts we’ve met, and they’ll go out of their way to make sure your holiday is full of wonderful memories. The cabins are by far our favourite getaway destinations, and we will be back time and again.! Rob, thank you so much, our stay was beyond perfect.!

    Anna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rob is a fantastic host with nothing being too much for him. Such a lovely guy who obviously cared about his guests having a perfect stay. The cabin was incredible. We enjoyed the fire pit and exploring the woods. We found many dens and a rope swing which our son loved. Batteries for lighting and charging phones etc. An aga oven which heats the water and radiators. A gas camping stove to boil the kettle. Rob also provided us with a cool box with ice blocks for milk and essentials.

    Stephanie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location, with the facilities to match, we arrived on Friday evening to be greeted by robs parents. They took us down to the cabin with a quad bike to carry all of our stuff, showed us how to use everything and gave us the cool boxes to store fresh chilled goods in. Best bit about the cabin itself is the bath and the wood aga to cook on, we kept it ticking over so kept the place lovely and warm and enough water for 4 baths. There is a firepit across from the cabin which we cooked jackets on, and toasted marshmallows. So peaceful and relaxing just what we needed for a weekend away, also there was WiFi and charging points for your phone's. Sadly no plug sockets though so leave those hairdryers athome. Thanks for a great weekend Rob will be back for sure

    Matt2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time at Rob's cabin. The quiet, secluded location, surrounded by woodland was perfect for a relaxing few days away. A real hi light for us was eating around the fire pit and listening to owls hooting in the trees. Would highly recommend. :-)

    Shaun2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, I and our dog had a lovely stay. It’s soo peaceful and a great place to relax and unwind.

  • Great stay, Rob and his family are lovely. Didn't interfere but we're on hand for anything. Offered good tips on local areas and travel. Possibly more secluded than we expected but would definitely recommend

Thorndon House was built in 1841, commissioned by the renowned engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Our Brunel Room offers privacy with its own entrance and is a self contained spacious room with everything you need for a short stay including: en-suite, tv, microwave, fridge, tea and coffee facilities. .A perfect location for a quiet get away but only 4 miles from Exeter which is easily reached by car or bus. Fantastic walks and wild swimming at your finger tips.
Thorndon House is one of a handful of non-industrial works designed by the famous engineer during the construction of the Great Western Railway. The Brunel room has been renovated into a lovely cosy place to stay with its own entrance and ensuite. It has an en suite with a powerful Mira shower, solid wood double bed with minimum 300 thread count linen, mini fridge for milk and perishables, microwave, 32" TV, tea and coffee facilities and a table to eat your breakfast at or do some work. You will find a small selection of cereals in the cupboards, fresh milk (skimmed) for drinks and cereals. Please do bring your choice of bread as there is a toaster and jams in the room. For those guests who are on holiday and would like a treat the following can be ordered: Full Aga English £10 Toasted sourdough loaded with spinach and avocado topped with aga eggs £10 Fresh Belgian waffles with natural yogurt, mixed seeds and fresh fruit £10 (All the above comes with extra bread to toast and fresh fruit juice. I will need at least 24 hours notice and subject to availability. I will always do my absolute best to meet your requests! X Aga pizzas to order can be arranged. Variety of toppings so please do message me with choices. £12.50 each and include a pudding x If you would like a “high tea” on arrival as a surprise or treat please do message me to arrange choices”. A high tea can be made up to include sandwiches, cakes and a cream tea and displayed on an oak stand and delivered to your room. A high tea for two people is £12. I have listed the Brunel Room as 3 guests. I will happily pop a thick full size single mattress in the room for a third person/child, fully made up. The mattress will clearly reduce floor space during the stay so Please do make sure you are happy with this arrangement before you book. There is no wardrobe as such but we do have a discreet rail with a handful of hangers for dresses, coats, suits etc.. we also have a few other hooks around the room and bathroom for convenience. There is no access to the main house via The Brunel Room which gives you plenty of privacy. Wifi reliability is good even though we are rural. It can become slow at times depending on the time of day but it will get there. Wifi is available at all times.
Rewe is a lovely village with very kind and friendly residents. We have stunning views over the countryside towards Killerton and the River Culm with a picturesque stone bridge. During the late spring and summer months our closest neighbours are the cows and sheep who often come and say hello at the fence until the children come out! We have plenty of lovely birds flying around and the odd deer on the fields.
  • Jenni, was a really lovely host! The pizzas were absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend a stay here! We also bought a beautiful piece of art from the room! Jenni was very quick to respond and extremely helpful! The bed was comfy, the special touches and treats were brilliant! The location is beautiful and scenic and everything was perfect for our stay. We hope to return in the future!

This small two bedroomed cottage was built in 1800 when the Mill opposite was fully working. It is in a remote, quiet and secluded part of Mid Devon within an hour of both the North or South coasts of Devon. It is accessible down narrow single track country lanes. The nearest shops are in the town of Tiverton, five miles away.
What's included? Basically just bring yourselves, and food and drink. The beds are made ready for you with cotton linen, towels & tea-towels provided. We provide washing up liquid, liquid soap and shower gel and the first few toilet rolls. Also is provided a basket of logs (and kindling, paper, matches) for the woodburner. The kitchen is well equipped. The second bedroom can be made up as two singles or as a king size double, just let us know which you prefer. We live nearby so if you need anything else please ask.
Templeton Bridge is a small hamlet, in the heart of the unspoilt, rolling and partly wooded countryside of mid Devon. The River Dart runs past the garden, its source is about a mile up the valley and it ends up entering the River Exe at nearby Bickleigh Mill. At night we have regular visits of otters to the river and wildlife ponds opposite the cottage. Also deer and buzzards are frequent visitors. There are no shops or pubs within walking distance of Mill Cottage, however to the east, within easy reach by car (five miles away), is the town of Tiverton which possesses a full selection of local amenities, including superstores, shops and restaurants, hospital and leisure centre. From Tiverton there is quick access, via the A361 (North Devon link road) to junction 27 of the M5 motorway, beside which is Tiverton Parkway Railway station with regular mainline connections to London (Paddington) and the North of England. About 2 miles to the north of Templeton Bridge there is access onto the A361 (North Devon link road), leading to Barnstaple and the spectacular North Devon Coast with its sandy beaches. To the south is the university and cathedral city of Exeter. To the north and south, are the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor with their beautiful scenery and many opportunities for walking, riding and fishing.
  • What a hidden gem! The pictures don’t do this gorgeous cottage justice. It was such a lovely surprise. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed as well as some treats! Bed was incredibly comfortable and the living room very cosy. Finding the cottage was easy, I would suggest using google maps and then switching to the air bnb map once you’re close enough. As google maps will stop you just around the corner. As mentioned the WiFi is not the strongest, however we came to get away for the weekend so that didn’t bother us at all. There’s a DVD player in the living room and we brought some movies with us. It was a perfect place for us to get cosy over the weekend in front of the fire. The nearest pubs are an hours walk and an 10-15 minute drive. However we were very content just locking ourselves in for both evenings. Roger and Bindy have been fantastic hosts, they message back quickly and were on hand to help us with whatever we needed. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back

    Sara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
