Phil was very welcoming and very generous with help offered. the place was amazing although slightly less high spec than the photos suggest. It was great for what we needed and loved the wood burner.

Lovely property in a quiet, scenic location. The owner was very friendly and accommodating (even gave us some charcoal for the bbq when we couldn't find any nearby). Property itself was large and we'll equipped with a huge fridge, double ovens and modern tv. Definitely recommended!

Amazing stay at the house. We were welcomed and shown around the property and how to work everything which was useful. The location was ideal for us to get out and about into the hills. There were 12 of us staying and it worked out perfectly with the number of rooms and bathrooms. Living space was really nice and open with views of the countryside all around. Would definitely recommend others to stay.

Wonderful stay. The cottage is clean, cosy and has everything one needs. The log fire was a particular bonus! Sandra had left a baby bath, toys and highchair for us which came in really handy. The views and garden are just stunning. We'll definitely be back next year!

Lovely perfect location to explore the Cairngorms and surrounding area. We took our dog along who had a great time, its a shame that not many places in Braemar are dog friendly, only one bar/restaurant was, everywhere else was decidedly dog un-friendly, but this gave us more time to relax in the cottage with the roaring fire!

Raymond greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome! Both Sandra and Raymond are very helpful and did everything to make our stay as nice as possible. Home made scones were waiting for us in the kitchen and they are the best we've ever tasted. The cottage was very clean and bright with everything we needed. Beautiful views from all the windows and we really enjoyed watching all the birds and squirrels! The fire kept us warm at night. We really loved our stay here and would recommend it to everyone!

Wonderful historic home with antique furniture, but very comfortable with all modern conveniences. It is in a gorgeous location in a pretty little town close to Balmoral. We had a great stay!

Derrywood was a great place to stay in Braemar. The quirky cottage is near a sheep pasture and across a gurgling creek, but a quick 5-8 minute walk into town. The views were great, and it was close to many beautiful things to do such as Balmoral Castle. Peter, Roelf's son, made check in a breeze and was super easy to communicate with. Enjoyed our stay!

Roelf's place is a very comfortable home from home with a beautiful garden in a wonderful location. We traveled with a 1 year old baby and a dog. We only had two days at the cottage but could have spent a lot longer, and although we visited in summer, would love to come back in winter. The area is a walker's paradise and the proximity to the village which has lots of amenities is ideal. Roelf gave us some help finding walks from the front door that were suitable with a dog and a baby and they were ideal.

Fell in love with this adorable cottage! So many unique treasures to discover inside like the gigantic atlases! The cottage is super warm and cozy - perfect for sitting around the fire and catching up with dear friends! We traveled with another couple and their toddler. The hosts were absolutely lovely and even prepared for our stay by bringing in a crib for the baby without us having to ask! They have also been very helpful as I've dealt with luggage delays from the airline. The cottage is in the perfect location! It's very close to the little town, so we were able to walk to shops, coffee, the near by castle, and also to the golf course in the opposite direction. There are wonderful views from the front of the house and also a beautiful and very well maintained yard out front where we spent quite a bit of time. Definitely recommend this cottage!

Was welcomed by Mrs Miep, the wife.. It was a wonderful stay, house was clean complete with gorgeous furnitures, fireplace and daily necessities. Surprisingly, there were also loads of board games to play with The host was very lovely in guiding and welcoming us there, she even helped scraping ice layer from our car in the morning Highly recommended for those travelling together in groups, and be reminded that the view along the way was awesome, so come when the sun is still up!

Great little cabins on a perfect spot to start exploring the national park!

What a great find! All four Braemar Cabins look stunning - Clunie was the right size for my daughter and myself. We were spending some time in the hills around Braemar and could not have been more cosy on our return at the end of the day. The cabin gave us everything we needed and the spec is to a very high standard. Will definitely be heading back here.

Lee and his collegue are very helpfull and available if needed. Braemar is a perfect place for hiking in the park.

We had a lovely time in Lees Cabins in Braemar. Lee is a very good host, caring for everything around our stay. He gave us the beautiful idea to walk to Loch Callater and that was great.

It was a nice and comfy cabin. We enjoyed the stay there. We cooked a lot at the kitchen, unfortunately the plates weren't not very clean when we arrived. If you need something, you can go to the mountain shop, it's very close by the cabins. We'd love to come back one day!!

Great cabin for a short stay, all conveniences nearby. Kitchen is cosy but manageable, eating is from your lap or the table on the terrace. Very comfortable beds and shower! Might well be back! MTB bikes from next door are great for exploring the glens nearby. Road bikes are great for going further afield on these quiet roads with great views.

We had a lovely stay in Alastair's cottage, with a wonderful fire awaiting us on arrival. The cottage was pristine and had all that you needed! We made great use of the suggested walks around Braemar and also the bike hire in Ballater - the weather was around 17 degrees and sunny on all 3 days which was amazing. The area was great, a really lively little town with absolutely beautiful scenery and the cottage was located perfectly, just a couple minutes walk from the centre of the town. Overall we had a great stay and would not hesitate to come back again.

The village is picturesque, so is the landscape no wonder the Queen's summer residence is just around the corner! We didn't meet our hosts though as they were away on holiday. We stayed at this lovely little cottage over Christmas this year, and it was perfect. We were lucky enough to have some snow which made it all the more beautiful. An added bonus was the fully decorated Christmas tree put out for us, as well as the lovely decorations! The cottage was clean and well equipped, and the log burner with the supply of wood was most welcome. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends!

We really appreciated the warm welcome, wood burner already lit and space for our bikes at the shed. Sarah and Alastair were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation was spacious, warm and clean. Everything we needed was available, with lots of booklets about places to visit and walks around Braemar. We will definitely come back, highly recomendable to be relaxed and enjoy almost any outdoor sports you could imagine.

Alastair and Sarah were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The accommodation is a chalet type dwelling, very cosy and comfortable. The wood burner was great, especially for drying out soaking wet walking boots. It is almost in the centre of Braemar, not much more than five minutes walk to the rest of the village. A great place to have a drink is the hotel by the Highland Games ground: barman is a dedicated and charming whisky describer. Setting is secluded and private, though with Alastair and Sarah on hand should they be needed, and not at all isolated. Although on the main road into Braemar, it is very quiet, surrounded by hills against which it is possible to see eagles soaring. Braemar seems a friendly and quite busy with tourists place, the Co-op is very handy and reasonable. Access to the Cairngorms is through the fabulous glens which run from a short drive away right up into the heart of the plateau. There is also walking from the chalet itself. We had a lovely week's stay, would go again and certainly recommend it.

I had a fantastic weekend staying in Bynack at Mar Lodge with a big group of friends in February 2016. The lodge is quite high and there was a lot of snow so some of our party struggled to get there in the weather conditions. But Mar Lodge was worth the journey. The setting is beautiful, with picturesque hills all around. It's close to a bunch of monros and lots of places for easier walks on the flat through beautiful scenery. The Glennshee ski centre is just 20 mins drive away. The apartment itself is fantastic, 8 huge bedrooms with antique furniture, a massive dinning/living room and a well equipped kitchen. The staff were really friendly, left us to ourselves but were there when we needed help. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Mar Lodge again. Highly recommend it for a weekend of outdoor activity or just relaxation!

Auchendryne cottage was a perfect place to stay. You can rely on the photos presented, maybe it's even better. It's very cosy, in a nice location and equipped with everything you could wish. We were 2, but it's large enough for 4 people. Everything you need to know is described very clearly and although Linda is not there, everything is taken care of. The villagecentre is only 5 minutes of walking away. We didn't have our own transport, but that was no problem at all: there are lot's of walks that start from Braemar centre. And otherwise you can take a bus or hire bicycles. This time we stayed for 5 days, but we'll surely come back for a longer stay. Rommert and Henny, Amsterdam

Linda's cottage is the best place ever! The lovely house with the wonderful garden is super equipped, we feeled very much at home. The cottage is also very well located at the end of the village Braemer so that it is calm but also to reach the coffee shops, supermarket and restaurants in walking distance (1-3 min). The national park is very beautiful and the golf course very nice. Nearby in the forest you can find a lot of good mushrooms ... Thank you for our lovely week at your house! We try to come again!! We had a great stay! We enjoyed walking around Braemar and discovering the nearby estate. The house is in a perfect location, very quiet and also close to the village. The kids loved their cozy room and we found the beds to be really comfortable. There are even two bathrooms and the kitchen has everything you could need to prepare a nice meal. It was the perfect place to come home to after a day of hiking. We watched birds from the enclosed porch and despite the weather forecast even had a bit of sun! We can truly recommend the house for any traveller, especially for families. Our kids made good use of the games in the living room and were sad to leave for our next destination. We hope to come back one day!

We had a comfortable stay at The Bothy - the apartment is nicely furnished and very clean - with David and Sue being friendly and welcoming hosts. Freshly laid eggs were a bonus! The location is great, with good walking from the door and lots to do within a short drive.

We stayed for 10 days in Davids cozy bothy and enjoyed it very much! The bothy has everything you need and is decorated nicely. In Braemar is a supermarket, gift shops....and you can hire a bike. The landscape invites you to hike. David is very friendly, patient and helpful!

The perfect place to base yourself for walking, cycling, swimming or just relaxing. Even better than it looks in the photos! David and Sue are lovely hosts and the place is tucked away nicely by itself so it's private and peaceful.

A really great place to stay for a couple of days. Very lovely decorated, yet not cheezy, and very clean. Even in Scottish summer (i.e. on rainy days) you can have a relaxing day in this lovely bothy with the fireplace, the fast wifi and a fully equipped kitchen. A diner and some pubs are also around the corner and all the area hiking paths are starting literally at the front door - even the shorter ones alongside the Dee. With the garden, the chicken and the natural surrounding of the house ideal for nature lovers.

Braemar is an excellent walking & touring centre, and 'Bedside Manor' has one of the best locations in Braemar. Its central position, set back from road, in a natural garden setting and within minutes of shops & restaurants, mark it out as an ideal holiday location. Thoughtfully presented, well equipped & homely accommodation. All facilities in excellent working condition. Brilliant selection of local books and maps to help plan the next day's activity. All in all, a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay and to return to after time in the hills. Helpful and prompt responses from hosts, Colin & Fiona, prior to our arrival, and a very warm welcome on arrival. Our second visit, and certainly not our last.

This was one of the best experiences of renting through Airbnb - great place to stay, location and weather (!), but made even better by the range of little things that you had thought to put in the house like plastic bags, tea bags etc. and even a bottle of wine! Many thanks.

Colin and Fiona made us incredibly welcome - we were camping beforehand and they allowed us to park in the drive a few days early. In the cottage was a large bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine! Very friendly. A very attractive garden. Surrounded by fabulous walking.

The cabin is well furnished and very cosy and warm. Very well supplied with enough cutlery, cups, glasses etc. Colin and Fiona are very friendly and Fiona came over first evening from Aberdeen area to check if everything was OK. We really appreciated this though we had nothing to complain and instructions were very clear. Cabin is large enough to stay with family of 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids). Area of Braemar is fantastic with plenty of opportunities for hiking. Cabin holds different hiking maps and guides. Shop and restaurants are within walking distance.

Had a lovely time at this cozy and very comfortable chalet in the picturesque village of Braemar. The chalet has everything that you need for a week in the Highlands. Lots of little extras provided by the hosts make you feel especially welcomed. Beautiful garden and deck area to enjoy the fine weather.

When we arrived we were greeted by Fiona who showed us round the property which is full of surprises. From the outside Bedside Manor has a bunkhouse look that is in no way reflected in the interior which has been fitted out to a high standard and is beautifully presented. A welcome bottle of wine was waiting for us along with plenty of maps, guides and local history books - great for planning. The property has a decked area with outdoor seating for dining al fresco. It is set in a really enchanting natural garden with native trees and even its own lochan and wetland area with yellow flag iris and orchids. We had sightings of red squirrels and rabbits as well as many birds including tree creepers. Bedside Manor proved to be perfect for our highland walking trip and a return trip is already being planned. Thank you................

Once again our trip to Bedside Manor was a great joy. We were provided with all that we needed, we were very cosy at night and we had a fantastic location to relax in. Colin and Fiona were always available online to answer any of our questions and nothing was too much trouble. Our highlights were finding some snow; yippee, relaxing at the cabin watching the wildlife, a 'Highland Tour with Neil, tasting the delicious sausages from the local butcher's and a chance great chat with Fiona at the end of our stay. My girlfriend and I had a great night stay at Katy and Richard's. They have a lovely cottage and made us feel very welcome. They provided useful information for our weekend in the hills and also provided an excellent breakfast in the morning to keep us fueled for a day running. I would recommend their place to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away with easy access to the hills and I'm sure we'll be back.

My son (11) and I had a fantastic stay at Katy's and Richard's. They are lovely host who made us feel very welcome, like being part of the family. The farm is easy to find (the building on the left, just before the Glen Doll entrance) and my son absolutely loved to be able to play with the dogs and the cat. The landscape surrounding the house is stunning. The house is an ideal base for exploring Glen Clova and the other glens nearby. Please remember to bring your food as there are no shops within a 30 min drive and you might not want to visit the Glen Clova Hotel three times a day :) Katy left us a space in her fridge and allowed us to use her kitchen so this was not an issue at all. We loved our stay and will be certainly be back!

The house is lovely, the scenery incredible and Richard and Katy were wonderful and very welcoming. We loved drinking wine and listening to records with them by the fireplace (while the wonderful dogs quietly snored by our feet). It's a gem! It's a remote, old rustic farm building, with a lovely host, friendly dogs and a peacock... Katy was realy kind and we had some nice conversations sitting in the old kitchen next to the fireplace, drinking wine and whiskey... what else do you need. I am sure one day I will be back, and visit this unique place again...

Countryside villa, built the 19th century and the actual photograph as charming! Quiet environment, there are mountain streams, pine forests and sheep, perfect for a relaxing holiday place! Facilities are available inside the house, the owner is very intimate, very warm arrangement and artistic sense. . . Small but complete kitchen and full bookshelves with feeling! Landlord a couple very warm! I would recommend to a friend to keep come here!

Lovely wee spot hidden away up a private drive. The area was beautiful, really up in the hills and the cottage itself is lovely. Kitchen was well equipped and lot's of utensils provided which was great. Everywhere was very clean and tidy and there are two bathrooms which is handy. Wi-fi was there but intermittent – but to be expected that far North! All in all everything was perfect for our short weekend away, Marian was an relaxed hostess and allowed us our space for the stay too – a great wee air b and b that I would definitely return to.

Marian welcome us with a full breakfast. The house is lovely and fully equiped with anything that you can think of. The most impressive thing is they have VDO player and loads of VDOs which turned us back in time. Such a good time we had there.

We had a good time at the Clackavoid Cottage. We stayed there only for a night, but we would have stayed longer if we could. The place is cosy and well equipped. There is a very nice garden. The location is good to explore the south-Cairngorms.

The location creates an incredible atmosphere, if you need some days off from daily routine it's a perfect place to be.

I cannot recommend a stay at Forter Castle highly enough. In a word, our stay was exquisite. The interiors are the definition of well appointed; the pictures simply cannot do them justice. We enjoyed two nights in comfort and style, making good use of the kitchen for meals, and the great hall for conversation and relaxation warmed by the fire. Each bedroom is uniquely handsome with comfortable beds and linens. Please take advantage of the catering and the other activities made available. We enjoyed a stirring bag piping performance, a scenic hike to a near by loch, and a fun-filled afternoon with archery, axes, and rifles. The hosts and everyone else we interacted with were incredibly hospitable and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. In sum, this was an incredible, one of a kind experience, please consider a stay!

The settting of Forter Castle is beyond gorgeous. Pictures do not do it justice. With the long summer nights, we spent our evening outside till almost 11:00 at night, and it was still light outside. The Castle is fully equipped, and the bedding is oh so lovely! The Castle is just as we had hoped. The stairs are a bit tricky, and the wifi a bit spotty...but other than that, it was a wonderful stay!

Can't recommend this cottage enough. It's perfect for a peaceful break and contains everything that you need. Great to relax after a day in the countryside. Ben was a very helpful host who was great about check in/out. Hopefully be back in the future!

We were absolutely delighted with the cottage and had a lovely weekend enjoying the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The cottage was lovely inside and presented to a very high standard by Ben and Vicky. Nice touches like the fluffy dressing gowns, and the BBQ coal and logs Ben dropped off for us made us feel instantly at home. We'll definitely be back and I would highly recommend the cottage to anyone who is looking for a well maintained, beautifully presented and peaceful retreat.

The cottage is within an easy drive of Blairgowrie and Pitlochry and the tiny hamlet of Cray is a beautiful setting. The cosy interior, amazing bed, and great wildlife around the cottage made this a very special trip.

Before even arriving, Vicky was very helpful and thorough. She confirmed the amount of beds needed and helped us find private transport. When we arrived we were blown away! It is the most beautiful property!!! The entire house is 5 stars. It is homey and welcoming but also feels like you are staying in a fancy hotel. We were all so sad to leave. Hopefully we can return again sometime. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone!

We had a lovely time, the location was perfect with an opportunity of loads of walks, such as the Cateran Trail, 20 min drive from the Spittal of Glenshee/Devil's Elbow. Wonderful and would definitely come again for longer than 2 nights! :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Karen's. The house was very clean and comfortable and there was a lovely view from the bedroom across the valley. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at Karen's place. We slept so well in the clean, warm, cosy & super quiet room. The bed was big and very comfortable. Sheets and towels were fresh and clean and smelt great. The range of breakfast items blew us away. It was the most delicious breakfast we've had in Scotland. Karen's place was above and beyond our expectations and she is a lovely lady to chat to as well. Her dog Barclay is absolutely gorgeous too. We hope to come back in the future.

Karen was a great host. She was kind enough to let us check in a bit later than what is on the page. The room was very clean, cozy and filled with unexpected perks. The provided breakfast was more than we could eat and with a great variety. The area is very gorgeous, perfect for a countryside walk. All in all, we had excellent comfort and privacy. The only downside I can think of is not having planned more time there. Barclay was a great host as well.

Very nice welcoming at our arrival. As a surprise there was included a breakfast which offers you anything you can imagine. Karen gave us some "secret" travel advises which were amazing. During the night she even printed out us some maps and created us a travel book. In the bedroom there is even offered bred and jam, additionally to the coffee. If you are around Pitlochry you have to choose that place!

Karen and Alistair were welcoming hosts, the room was very comfortable with a stylish new en suite, breakfast ingredients were supplied and the large, homely kitchen was available for self catering in the evening (Karen even laid the table for us). We would definitely recommend a stay at Tulloch!
