Haugesund is located between Stavanger in the south (2 hours drive) and Bergen in the north (3 hours drive). From the cottage you have stunning views over rough, untouched nature with heather heaths, swab mountains and open sea. It is located just 17KM from Skjeggedal where the hike to Trolltunga officially starts! The farm is located in Ullensvang municipality: which is 170km from Bergen, 148 km from Haugesund, and 11km from Tyssedal. The farm is located in a peaceful and quite area with panoramic view of one of Norway’s largest fjords, mountains and glaciers. In addition to being a close neighbor of Trolltunga and Dronningstien, we’re surrounded by two national parks: Folgefonna and Hardangervidda.

Benedikte's house on architect-designed Svindland farm

The Benedikte house is about 10 minutes drive from Egersund city center and about 5 minutes from the E39. We have tried to recreate the hospitality of Benedikte - the last one who lived in the old house - in this modern and completely newly built farmhouse on the outskirts of the yard on Svindland farm. Here guests will find peace and idyll. On the farm there are horses, we have two dogs and a cozy peacock couple who walk free. The house is very modern and well equipped.

Above the house is Galleri Solbakkestova with its associated sculpture garden that is always open to the public. Around the house, goats graze, and you overlook some free range hens, and some alpacas across the road. The house has terraces on both sides, where it is wonderful to sit to take in the surroundings and feel the calm. There are also great hiking trails close by.
