Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Purbeck District

An absolutely dreamy escape for two! complete with scenic views, and enough special touches to feel at home. Fiona made everything so comfortable and we look forward to coming back!

Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

Great place to stay, camping grounds are really tidy and inviting. The accommodation was super ! Clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Bit steep on the price, but for one night it did the job.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Amanda's Shepherd's Hut. It is small for 3 people but it's so cosy and very comfortable with everything we needed. The location is perfect, really beautiful with lots to do and in the heart of the New Forest. Amanda was a wonderful host, we really enjoyed her company and we learnt a lot about forest life. We loved her place and all her animals and would definately recommended it and I'm sure we will be going back there! Also the breakfast was so delicious! Thank you so much Amanda, you are a very lovely and inspiring woman. xxx

A delightful and charming place to stop and relax. Everything was superb - the hut, its private garden, the thoughtful book selection, the bed linen which smelt of fresh air, the warm croissants and home made jams. Daisy the retriever, was the icing on the cake. Sarah and Frank are warm, available as needed but respectful of privacy.

Cozy little stay with brutal surroundings. Fully equipped so cooking for two is no issue!

This is our second visit this year. We absolutely love The Hut. A quiet, cosy space which feels very private. Jo has provided all the essentials and some you didn't even realise you needed. We loved cooking and sitting by the fire in the evenings. The bed is super comfy and the area so quite, we had a wonderful night's sleep and felt ready for a day off exploring the New Forest. We can't recommend The Hut enough.

My daughter and I had a lovely few days staying in the lavender shepherd hut, beautiful location- everything was perfect, such thoughtful extras left for us for our arrival made it all feel very special. Thank you!

We had a really wonderful stay at The Burrow. The hut is beautiful, very well thought out with everything you need, all with its own place. The hut is in a peaceful location, with a calming view and felt very private. The weather was bad for most of our stay, but we felt very cosy in the hut, reading and painting, and enjoyed exploring the local villages. Rob and Jess were excellent hosts, very responsive over messages and arranged everything for us, including the delicious local produce boxes (would highly recommend!) despite our last minute booking. They’d thought through every detail, including providing towels to dry the buggy. We really appreciated their recommendations in the local area, which made our break even more relaxing as we didn’t have to put much thought into where we went. We enjoyed the Silver Plough, Pumphouse Bakes, Salt and Kimbridge Barn. Thank you very much for a very peaceful and relaxing stay.

This was a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of the most beautiful grounds! We loved the shepherds hut so much. The entrance is magical down a long pebble driveway past the owners home that looks like something from house and home magazine. Probably one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve seen. Shirley made sure the hut was ready for when we arrived which happened to be earlier than expected. We were met with a lovely warm and informative welcome, Shirley showed us the grounds and the hut which were both stunning. The hut has everything you need, top quality products and linens. Shirley gave us so many recommendations for the local area and places to visit. We will certainly be staying again!

The hosts were very friendly, helpful and they gave recommendations about local facilities. The Shepherd's hut was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The EV charger was very easy to use and we could use it whenever we wanted to. It is a beautiful location, very quiet and peaceful; we enjoyed watching the birds and the pretty garden. We found plenty to do in the area and would love to return one day.

A fantastic place for a stop over to see in the New Year of 2025. Host was super helpful and quick to reply- considering we booked very last minute, everything was organised and ready for us to arrive. Toilets and showers were close by, good lighting and stocked on the essentials and hot water! Fire wood provided for a very cosy stove in the hot and set ready to light. Lovely setting, plenty of space if you have a doggo to enjoy it. Great pub food for dinner, friendly staff and a breakfast provided…what more can you ask for. Would love to visit again.

Really nice private location which was still very close by lovely walk routes and country pubs. Ed was really helpful with local recommendations. The enclosed garden was very secure and great for our small dog too. Perfect place for a peaceful getaway.

Mike's place was an absolute dream for our pre-baby, relaxing getaway with our Whippet! It completely exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, right on the SW coast path yet feeling wonderfully secluded, while still being just a quick 5-minute drive to Lyme Regis. Although the listing mentioned the garden wasn't fully secure, we found it to be very secure for our Whippet which was an added bonus. There are also several gates to pass through on the way from the parking area, adding to the security. Our dog lovedddd running about with a frisbee and then sunbathing ha! We honestly loved the property so much (especially the pool!) that we barely left, only venturing out for morning coffee and breakfast. Mike's recommendations were spot on – Poco Pizza was fantastic for takeaway, and communication was excellent throughout. We'll be hard-pressed to find another Airbnb that compares and look forward to coming back with our baby. Thank you!

Had a lovely three night stay in Acorn hut. Spacious and very private outdoor space with a hot tub for relaxing. Bathroom facilities were clean and shower was great. The hut itself was cosy with everything you need for a few nights away. Big enough for my partner and I as well as our large greyhound. The host was lovely and helpful with advice about places to go and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend a stay here for anyone looking for a peaceful spot.

A wonderful stay at the Collie for 2 nights. A wonderful well equipped Sheppard's Hut and the extra special touches that Chloe provided from the arrival hamper to the hot tub being preheating for arrival. The views across the Somerset levels are beautiful and the night time sky was perfect for relaxing around the fire/bbq and in the hot tub. Thr local area of Glastonbury and cider farms add to this lovely weekend.

Fabulous place that is beyond what you would expect from a Shepherd’s Hut. Great thought and attention to detail has clearly gone into building and designing this place. It’s deceptively spacious and has got everything you need and more, the hot tub and outside seating are real bonuses, all in all a fabulous spot.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The place was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the little touches that made it feel special — from the cozy bedding to the well-stocked kitchen. This was such a lovely trip for us as a couple, and we’re already talking about coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic, restful escape!

A lovely hut in the New Forest, beside the local pub (which we didn’t actually try). A peaceful location! Really well appointed, luxurious hut, with v comfy bed and a lovely bathroom! What more could you want!

Great little hut on the edge of the heathland, that perfectly suited a chilled night with our youngest son, he absolutely loved the hut, collecting wood for the fire and the rope swing . Perfect nights sleep had by all.

Our stay at the Blue Hut was absolutely magnificent! From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and a welcoming atmosphere that made my boyfriend's birthday truly special. Jayne was incredibly accommodating and made us feel at home right from the moment we parked up. The hut itself is stunning, and all the added extras made our experience unforgettable. We enjoyed the prosecco, relaxed in the hot tub, and made good use of the BBQ/firepit. The breathtaking views and the serenity of the place were beyond belief. My boyfriend and I spent hours in the evening simply soaking in the beauty around us, and we were amazed at how quickly time seemed to fly by. We would certainly come back to the Blue Hut.
