Lake house holiday rentals in Omaha

We booked this place as part of my sister’s 30th birthday giveaway. Our hope was to have a weekend inspired by some of her favorite author’s work, and this home gave us a quaint storybook weekend getaway. It was so homey, the views were great, and the host was always available for questions. It was within close range of stores and not far from the Omaha old market. We would stay here again!

We had a great time at Troy’s place. He was very helpful on setting up our arrival as we came in very late. The living area was fantastic and relaxing. We will definitely stay there again the next time we come to the Omaha area.

Such a beautiful home and backyard - very peaceful stay. Access to siting by the canal was so peaceful. Sheri and her son were extremely kind and accommodating...and lovely to chat with! Would definitely stay again. Bathroom is very luxurious and super clean, as was the rest of the space. Parking was easy as well. So close to the city and shopping yet you feel like you're in cottage country. You have your privacy but just note that the walk-out basement is not completely closed off from the rest of the house -- it worked perfectly fine for us though. Thanks for everything, Sheri...def. one of our fav places ever!

Very comfortable and clean. It is located in a beautiful location by a lake, pretty close from Omaha’s Downtown. They were super nice and friendly. It’s an amazing detail that they give you snacks and tea.

This was the best stay I have ever had in our travels. The property exceeded all expectations. We couldn't be more pleased. Melissa's house was perfect! Everything about it was stunning, homey, and cozy. We had a girls weekend there are everyone was amazed at how lovely everything was. We watched the sunset at the lakeside, made dinner, and spent time on the private patio playing games. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay!

If you're on the fence about this place, book it! Fran and Barney's home is as lovely as they were. It's huge but still felt homey and was beautifully decorated. Everything was clean and very well supplied. We had a lovely time on the large patio overlooking the lake, we ate most of our meals out there. The basement is spacious and completely private, we had a blast playing games and using the pool table.

This home was perfect for our annual multigenerational family vacation. We had eight adults and four children ranging in age from 76 years to 7 months, and the home accommodated all of us comfortably. It served as an ideal home base for exploring Omaha—everything we wanted to do was within about a 20-minute drive. The house is exceptionally well-equipped for families with young children. The spacious closets easily fit pack-and-plays, which was a huge plus since we have three little ones still in cribs. The master bedrooms are large enough to fit an entire family of four, allowing each child to have a private, quiet sleeping area. The Yellow Submarine room was a huge hit with our granddaughter—she absolutely loved it! It added a whimsical, fun touch that made her stay even more special. The private beach and lake were phenomenal. We loved playing sand volleyball and made good use of the kayaks and grill provided—it was a highlight of our stay. Rachel, the host, was extremely respon

I had an amazing stay at Judith’s place. The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Omaha and would definitely stay here again!

Our stay started out great. 72*. The next morning woke up to a Blizzard. Then lost power for several hours. No fault of our host. They reach out to us to reassure that power company had been notified. So we enjoyed our company by playing a few card games .

Carol was very responsive and was able to accommodate us on short notice while even allowing an early check in. Very clean space!

We absolutely loved this beautiful home. It was gorgeous, and the layout was incredibly creative. It reminded me of an oceanside house with a lighthouse setting. We stayed here because we had guests visiting from out of town who stayed at our apartment and we needed a place to sleep. Even though it was in my hometown, this place felt like a true getaway. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home and hope to return here in the future. We had a hard time saying goodbye to this beautiful home!

Scott’s place is an absolute hidden gem on Carter Lake! We stayed here for a family wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better home base. The house was spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed — from board games to a fully stocked kitchen to three pristine full bathrooms (a huge help with three men in the wedding party!). The backyard was perfect for making memories: bonfires, fishing, and plenty of space for the kids to run around and play soccer. It easily accommodated our three families, with plenty of room to gather, relax, and stay up late talking and connecting. Everything in the home feels brand new, and it’s clear that a lot of care went into making it welcoming and comfortable. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more downtime to enjoy all the house had to offer. We’ve all agreed — this is officially our new go-to spot whenever we’re back in Council Bluffs for future family events! Thank you, Scott, for such a wonderful stay!

This îș a nice house and a great place for a large group. We had 9 people and it was still spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has useful appliances and all the tools for large meals. They have an outdoor gas grill too, but we didn't try it. The bedrooms are all large and the beds comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The basement is a full walkout at beach level with a nice fire pit and some seating. There's a large deck off the main floor too with more seating. It's a great outdoor space. The house is in a neighborhood about 30 minutes south of downtown Omaha, but only 5 minutes from downtown Papillion and 10 minutes to a Walmart and most other amenities. Downtown Papillion has several restaurants and a cool old-school Dairy Queen. The lake in back of the house has a nice sandy beach. It makes for a beautiful view in the morning/evening.
