Farmstay holiday rentals in North York Moors National Park

The cottage was exactly what was listed and what we were looking for. The Host was always responsive and friendly with many helpful details. The cottage is cosy and in beautiful surroundings with friendly neighbours. It also is well equipped for short or long stays. We will definitely recommend and hopefully come back soon! Thank you

This was an impulsive (and lucky) last minute break for us with our 2 young children and has been the best holiday we have had in a long time! There is plenty to do locally and not a long drive to the beach (we opted for Whitby). The kids play park in the forest is the best park we’ve visited and could easily have spent a whole day exploring. The surroundings were beautiful and the hosts were so welcoming. Breakfast was a lovely treat and the kids enjoyed feeding the sheep and spying on Cheddar (the cat!). The only downside is that lots of other people have clearly found out what a dream this place is, as we will have to wait a little while for a return trip due to it being booked up! An absolute bargain for a retreat away from city life and we were all wished we could have stayed for longer 🙂.

Wonderful place, as Bev says - the place gives you a warm hug. Relaxing, quiet, and perfect rest for us and our anxious rescue dog! Lovely being near the river, lots of birds and wildlife nearby. Felt right at home and hope to return again soon!

Lovely little place, perfect for a get away break. The hottub was great to relax in. The goats are gorgeous and so friendly. The family dog was a welcome visitor. Amazing to sit and listen to the birds and look at the beautiful scenery.

Pauline and Graham were truly awesome hosts. A warm couple who are passionate about the home and family and who were so welcoming. The kennel offers more than enough space, was pristine throughout and beautifully decorated. We loved our stay at the kennel, pity we did not travel with our dogs as we know they would also have been welcome! Graham we also loved your beautiful garden. Thank you for the tour !

Caroline’s cottage is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and lovely and peaceful as it is set back from the main road. Caroline kindly let us check in early which was perfect as it was the only nice day we had in the north and so were able to go out and enjoy the Moors. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are lots of extremely nice places to visit and great dining opportunities! As all the other visitors say, it is a fabulous place to stay and we would love to return if we are back in the area ! Thank you again Caroline !

We had a perfect few days staying in Flossy’s hut. The views are absolutely stunning and Cate had made sure every little detail was thought of including beautiful flowers and a welcome hamper. She even went the extra mile, leaving a birthday balloon and banner in the hut for our arrival. Safe to say I’ve won big sister points and my little sister has had the birthday of a lifetime. Cannot recommend this place enough :)

We had a lovely stay in the cabin at Water Hall Farm. The cabins are beautiful and surprisingly spacious, fitting the four of us fine for 2 nights. The hot tub, which was prewarmed, was a relaxing addition and the views to the surrounding hills and Sutton Bank were stunning. We managed to have a BBQ and fires on the fire pit, for which we had plenty of logs. The place is very family friendly, with some goals and balls out on the field in front and lots of animals to see in the fields around. The kids loved it. We will likely be back!

An absolutely lovely place and not far from anywhere like Whitby bay Robin hoods bay were all within easy reach. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely restaurant down the road called the Grainary also lovely restaurant called the plough in Scalby which is a short drive away. The owners were so welcoming and so attentive. Very dog friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed here for a break away from our home renovations and I can’t explain how peaceful and lovely it was. Fiona met us on arrival and was so helpful with showing us around, brought us some milk and was really friendly. The accommodation itself was beautiful with some stunning finishing touches, the sun beds under the pergola were a dream with a morning coffee and we enjoyed watching some DVDs and seeing all the animals and wildlife. We spent the day in the Yorkshire Dales which is always beautiful and we can’t wait to return to Fiona’s place and experience it all again!

Just what the doctor ordered. If you want a fabulous retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life this is for you. The glamping pod is wonderful with everything you need and the hottub is the icing on the cake. As a host Joe is great, exactly what you wish for. 100% will be looking to come back again.

Lovely little place for our mini getaway. Set in gorgeous and private location, we even had the pleasure of seeing deer, rabbits, ducks and the farm dogs during our stay. The toilet was a little different than we are use to but did not impact our stay. Would recommend.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the manor farm cottage. What made our stay even more enjoyable was how prepared and informative they were in the guest guide book. We found this extremely helpful when trying to book taxis. Note to anyone planning a visit who is planning to use public transport to call malton taxis in good time instead of ‘Uber’ we were let down a few times by ‘Uber’ and it’s just that little too far out for many cars to be about. We went to malton ‘pizza on the square’ for tea one night which I would highly recommend and the ‘Rydale vineyard’ for a wine tasting experience which was fantastic and only a 7min taxi journey away. Perfect location great cottage and the amount of supplies that were provided too was another lovely touch. We diddnt have to worry about bringing tin foil and cling film, dishwasher tablets etc just small items which made the stay that extra bit more enjoyable. We managed t figure out how the appliances worked easily nd enjoyed a meal in aswel

Wonderful atmospheric location. Secluded and private setting. You really felt in another world every time you looked out of any window across the landscape... The barn was very clean and restored in a modern yet sympathetic way. Had last little item and touch you needed. Very homely and cosy, yet imposing with it's castle like thick walls... Old and modern blended together in a charming way... The piano was a perfect touch to fit the landscapes stretching into the distance across the moorland. Such varied wildlife to see and hear too. Hosts were friendly and helpful too. So thank you!

I would rate the Chicken Shed as outstanding! The location, presentation of the property, information provided by the owners before the stay and within a guide provided were all fabulous. It felt like a real 5*stay. We were aware it was up a steep track and we enjoy walking so it was no issues. We also had no problems getting a taxi to and from Clitheroe. On the first night we walked to the Calfs Head in Worston via lanes and footpaths. It took about 45 minutes. It was a traditional pub menu and the food was great with really good service. We walked up Pendle hill and went up via the steep hill behind chicken shed. It was the shortest way up but it is very very steep. The views at the top were worth the effort. There are easier ways up though! It's just a beautiful, beautiful place to visit with everything very thoughtfully considered. I do hope we can go back at some point.

Our second time at the gorgeous Preston Mill Loft and it was just as wonderful as we remember. Super dog friendly, the upgraded hot tub is IMMENSE, comfy bed, welcoming hosts, beautiful scenery, well stocked kitchen. The lot. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Peaceful getaway tucked away from the world, fabulous bathroom without standing views from the bathtub. Spacious living room with modern appliances in kitchen.

When we arrived we were greated by Carolyn and Brian, Brian was just about to take Ruby (the dog) for a walk so Carolyn showed us around the apartment, it's a beautiful place to stay and would highly recommend it. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom/shower room is immaculate! The scenery is stunning and we managed to see the deer and a barn owl too!! We just wish we could have stayed longer!! We would just like to say a 'Big Thank You' to you both for making our stay such a lovely and welcoming one! We hope to see you again soon! Sue and Pete 😊 xxx

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

A beautiful and peaceful place to unwind in nature. Lots of lovely touches and a lot of thought has gone into creating a great place to stay. Binoculars for watching the rare birds, a telescope for looking at the stars and many other thoughtful things provided. Julian was lovely to deal with, very responsive, and recommended some lovely restaurants (the Staff of Life very nearby and the Old Gate in Hebden Bridge were favourites). Lots of spectacular walks nearby and places to visit. There are 3 chalets here so could work well for a group of 6-8 people if booked at once.

I thought the pictures were nice when I booked but the place was beyond my expectations. It had everything you could wish for and looking out at the waterfall was just amazing. I have never seen anything quite as beautiful. The hosts were fab and were very welcoming and the surrounding countryside is just stunning. I had a wonderful stay. I will definitely be back.
