A handcarved 22m2 room, digged in the mountain a hundred years ago. You will be dreaming in a comfortable 160x200 double bed. You will find a bathroom for your individual use, with a shower and a ecofriendly compostable dry toilet (a conventional toilet is available in the shared Bathroom if you prefer).
“Sleeping in a cave might sound rare, but it's actually something that the people of Gran Canaria have done in the pre-hispanic times for houndreds of years. In the 21st century we can somewhat relive the experience, although in a bit more modern way. The cave is still a cave with it's darkness and silence, but there is high speed WiFi, bathroom, a comfortable bed and stylish furniture. Besides the amenities, I need to mention the hosts as they are truly amazing! They care a lot about their guests and have some unique skills that they put in work. Baptiste is a trully great vegan chef and if someone is not convinced about sleeping in the cave, they should definitely come for the food! Altough I am myself a meat eater, I have much enjoyed his meals. Chantal is a yoga teacher and regardless of your level (I didn't have any previous yoga experience), she will find a way to make a class enjoyable. Overall, I couldn't be more happy. It was meant to be just a stay and became a full fledged experience. I recommend this Airbnb to anyone who looks for a great place to stay in Gran Canaria!”
Places of interest: historical center 10 minutes on foot, sports center. Las palmas de gran canaria 12 km, beach 20 km and airport 45 km. Quiet and safe place with hospitable people, country atmosphere close to everything with exits to any place of the summit that is desired, ideal to walk by its real ways, to few minutes of shops and restaurants of the zone and near the historical helmet of Teror. My accommodation is good for couples, adventurers, and families (with children).
“We can definitely recommend Manuel's house. Everything in the description is correct, it is very clean and it offers a lot of space. It is a typical house in the country, which has been lovingly restored and beautifully decorated and where you can feel comfortable. It is located in a quiet area of Teror, a little out of the way and in the countryside, but still close to this pleasant small town, which is also very easy to reach on foot. Outside there are several options and depending on the weather and position of the sun you can stay in the garden below as well as in the small anteroom in front of the entrance, as well as on the terrace or on the balcony in front of the upper bedroom. The garden is a little paradise, just a few steps from the house and well stocked with loungers, jacuzzi, grill and table tennis table and surrounded by trees. The ground floor of the house is very comfortably furnished. There is a very well working fireplace and a total of two gas stoves. The table is very large and can be folded out so that all residents have plenty of space. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. On the ground floor there are two more rooms for sleeping and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Another bedroom and bathroom with shower and toilet is upstairs. Manuel and Ana were really helpful, answered all of our questions very well and looked after us with exceptional courtesy. Communication was excellent. We also enjoyed shopping at the merchant in the same district, who actually has everything you need. We would also like to recommend the bar-restaurant Mateo Boro, which is only a stone's throw away from the house, it offers very good, solid local cuisine at reasonable prices. We felt very comfortable both in the beautiful house and in the beautiful area, had wonderful hosts and would definitely be happy to come back.”
Our accommodation is located within an area of special protection in the Biosphere Reserve. It is located in a municipality of special landscape beauty and a coastal area of great ecological value. This house is located on a plot dedicated to the organic production of fruits and vegetables. Of course it is a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. It is an ideal area to rest while enjoying nature at its best.
“Maria and her husband are very welcoming and available, especially to take a guided tour of their farm. The accommodation is very good with a beautiful shaded terrace. The farm is well set back from the small neighboring town. It is a very quiet place but not in total silence either because it is next to a large dairy goat farm which brings some small annoyances (smells, noises ...). It didn't bother me personally but it could bother some sensitive people. I will not hesitate to return to Maria and her husband. The town of La Aldea is not very touristy and you can find bars with drinks and tapas with nice prices.”
