Private suite holiday rentals in Lake Superior

I wish I could give this place six stars! the steak I bought to grill went bad so Kathy made me a frozen pizza and I ate dinner with them outside. I've never been somewhere more quiet and peaceful. they were very patient with me and my dog that loves to pace and make himself at home. such a sweet, friendly couple with a beautiful home and a priceless view of the lake.

The location was very remote but only 20 minutes from civilization. Places to eat and get gas were closer. Hosts were very friendly and helpful making great recommendations. Accommodations were spacious and private. Nice to have a full kitchen. Highly recommend staying with Lynn and Sam. We had a great time and wish it would have been longer.

Tim and Roxanne were the nicest hosts we’ve ever dealt with and their place is truly spectacular. It was a privilege to stay there. It is beautiful, peaceful and such an idyllic setting! They also keep their place in tip top shape and have everything you could ever need available for you. Hammocks, boats, bikes… whatever you need. We’ve stayed at a ton of rentals up north as well as internationally, and none come close to staying with Tim and Roxanne at their place. Plus, the lake is pristine and private to the twenty some property owners that have a home on it. Great fishing, clear water and even some sandy spots. Oh, and Al Capone’s brother owned a house on this lake, so there’s a lot of cool history too. So glad we found this place…. Thanks Tim and Roxanne!

Kathy’s house was exquisite. Situated about 300 feet from the mouth of the Eagle River, the rushing water was relaxing and peaceful to fall asleep to at night and calming in the morning to wake up to. The area itself is very small, old and quaint. Eagle River is only about 4-5 blocks worth of housing, most of them seemed like summer homes as there were not a lot of other people around. There is one local restaurant, The Fitzgerald, I highly recommend it. Check out Eagle River Falls which is a gorgeous 50-75 ft cascade of water and then look at the historic wooden arch bridge next to it that connects Eagle River with the rest of the UP. Central Mine is about a 7 minute drive away and worth exploring the trails. You can find old building ruins if you explore enough.. Be sure to spend some time on the beach. Take a scenic drive up MI-26 to Copper Harbor and explore the places between. This place is highly recommended if you want a weekend to disconnect and discover nature.

We rate this place “5” in all areas. Everything was perfect, and we felt welcome and cared for. It was a wonderful experience. Walking distance from Lake Superior and one of its nicest beaches. Would work well for a family or two couples. Lovely outdoor space for meals or just relaxing on patio.

This is my second time staying at Faith’s and it was just as amazing as the first. I will stay here every time I can. It’s comfortable, quiet, private, provides a lot of space for my toddler to play, and Faith is always kind, quick, helpful, accommodating, and supportive. This guest house is perfect. Extremely nice and clean accommodations near a lot if hiking and other activities that we wanted to do. The view is stunning, you can wake up looking at the lake. If you're looking for a stay on the north shore, you've found it.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Fran and John’s place. It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked and we had everything we needed. The communication was great and they answered all of our questions and got back to us right away. The thank you note and the chocolates were a nice surprise!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! They left some treats for us along with a note! They were very kind when I needed some help! The beds were so very comfortable. 10/10 would stay again and recommend :)

We had a great family get away at Kevin’s place! It was very warm and cozy! We skied one day at Mount Bohemia and spent a day in Houghton. Beautiful area, great location! Plenty of room for four adults. Kevin was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!!

We used this as our landing for completing the last 2 sections of the Superior Hiking trail so we were driving NE each day so plenty close to the Canadian border (about 30 minutes) It was convenient being just slightly out of Grand Marais for grocery, liquor, restaurants. It was quiet and there was not any road noise. The property has 2 rentals on it and thankfully the other party was respectful and quiet since that house is bigger with more people. We like that no dogs are allowed because even the best dog owner can't prevent an occasional bark or two.

This place was an excellent find for our family of four. The views of the freighters passing by were second to none, and the proximity to downtown Sault Ste. Marie made it easy to head into town for dinner or ice cream. The suite was very clean on the inside, and had anything we could have needed.

Excellent location (a walk away from Lake Superior). There is literally everything you could need. The best stocked Airbnb I think I've ever stayed in, from the kitchen, to the bathroom, to the board games, blankets, beach towels, you name it. There isn't a stove in the kitchen, but there are too many great local places to eat at in Marquette that you don't need it. There is a Keurig and electric tea kettle. The wifi was fast; there is a Google TV; and the foosball table was a hit. Beds are comfy and clean. If you get the chance, this is a fantastic stay!

This spot was so so clean and quiet! Very nice space! Beds were comfy and Karina was very quick to answer any questions! Would love to stay again!

Jenny’s place was beautiful. Her rental is meticulous, in a pretty, peaceful neighborhood, with easy access to 61 which made our ride up to Grand Marais even more special. She responded to us immediately when we had an issue with the door key and was most pleasant.
