Kyomachiya Private Rental "Takasegawa Shichijo" is an accommodation facility that has been fully renovated from a 115-year-old kyomachiya. The kyomachiya, which forms the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance, while retaining the original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay during Kyoto's unique hot and humid summers and harshly cold winters. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed to resemble a "roji" (*the garden that leads to the tea room). There is also a sofa in the hallway where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests, we will set up a futon in the Japanese-style room on the ground floor for you to use as a bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware so you can prepare simple meals.

The atrium of the house is a traditional Japanese courtyard, with a unique fish pond with a group of koi carp symbolizing good luck, a transparent courtyard and a picture of a step-by-step view will add a touch of harmony and tranquility to your journey. The entire house has three separate bedrooms, two fully functional private bathrooms (Toilets), a bathroom (Bathroom) with a premium cypress bathtub, and an open kitchen where you can cook. Located in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, it is only a 7-minute walk to the Keihan Line "Shimizu Gojo", only one stop to Kyoto's most prosperous shopping center "Shijo Kawaramachi", and only a 5-minute walk to the Kamogawa River. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.
