You don't often come across a place like this on Airbnb. The more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time travel to a 19th century village in the far north of Finland. The property is best suited for a friend of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who is not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

Unique cottage on the shores of Lake Kemijärvi

We offer accommodation in connection with our cottage on the beautiful shores of Lake Kemijärvi. The price of the accommodation includes the use of a sleeping barn, a separate kitchen cabin, a sauna and an outdoor toilet. The cottage is located 12 km from the center of Kemijärvi. The log cabin has beds for two. Electricity + heating. Well-equipped kitchen. No running water. The hosts take care of the drinking water in the kitchen. Fireplace. Washing in the sauna, the use of the sauna is agreed with the hosts. The hosts use the other buildings on the premises.

A winter-inhabitable cottage built completely new in a traditional log cabin frame in 2019. In the cottage, you can relax in a hotel-level bed while watching the fireplace. The small kitchen is well equipped. The wonderful sauna heats up at the touch of a button. The cottage is located in the immediate vicinity of Suomutunturi, approx. 145 km from Rovaniemi airport. In addition to cross-country skiing and downhill skiing, the area has excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and hiking, even in the summer. The hotel rents skis and organizes excursions.

The beautiful surroundings offer wonderful outdoor opportunities - the ski trail to the nearby hills starts from the yard, the adjacent lake allows ice fishing, in the summer you can hike and pick berries in the nearby hills, a rowing boat is waiting on the school beach. This small, traditional, Lappish, log cabin is located at lake Norvajärvi with direct access to lake in both winter and summer time. Enjoy the lake view and forest around you, immerse to the nature and its sounds and smells and marvel the northern lights or cosy up by the open fire in winter. We are 20km out from Rovaniemi city and driving time is apprx 30min. Cabin has electricity but no running water. We bring you drinking water and water for washing in sauna is taken from the lake.

Charming cottage with all the amenities on a large plot. The distance to the center of Rovaniemi is only about 25 km. The distance to Santa Claus Village or the airport is also about 25 km. No public transport. The roads are well maintained even in winter. The cottage is easy to get to. If you wish, transportation can be arranged by Mercedes Benz Vito car for an additional fee. On the scenic Kemijoki riverbank, about an hour's drive from Rovaniemi, 65 km towards Kuusamo. I recommend renting a car. Fully equipped 75 m2 cottage with two bedrooms, kitchen, sauna, bathroom, porch and terrace. There is a beach near the cottage (about 700 m). Opportunities for snowmobiling, fishing, berry picking and hunting, as well as hiking. There is a boat launch about 1.2 km away.

This traditional Finnish cottage is located by the Lake Norvajärvi 15 km from the center of Rovaniemi and 10 km from the airport. We have renovated the cottage in summer and fall 2019&2022 for your better use. Here you can feel the Finnish cottage culture and enjoy the peace of nature and silence. If the weather is good for the Northern lights and you want to see them this is the place.
