A more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time journey to a 19th-century Ostrobothnian village. The property is best suited for Lappish nature, history, and quiet, without fear of dark or summer savings in the winter. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

Our holiday home is situated in Kemijärvi 85 kms/ 53 miles north-east from Rovaniemi. Nice peaceful 71 m2 apartment close to the nature. You can rest hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, picking berries or mushrooms - whatever you like. Kemijärvi is a town of 6000 inhabitants in the middle of two lakes just above the polar circle. Sauna. There are good trails for crosscountry skiing almost from our front door. The distances to the downhill skiing areas: 45 kms to Suomu and 53 kms to Pyhä.

This unique cottage is located on the road Pahtapisto, but still in the middle of the Suomutunturi ski resort. The distance to Hotel Suomutunturi is only 400 meters, and you can walk only 300 meters to the upper station of the children's elevator. Our igloos are 32m² in size and can accommodate two to four persons. The motorized double bed is directly under the glass ceiling. Separate extra beds are made from the sofa. All igloos are equipped with a toilet and a shower, a TV, a drying cabinet for outdoor clothing. All rooms have a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, cooking hobs, dinnerware and cutlery, a kettle, a coffee maker, a microwave oven and a dishwasher.

I recommend renting a car. 75 m2 cottage with all amenities, two bedrooms, kitchen-living room, sauna, bathroom, porch and terrace. Near the cottage there is a (approx. 700 m) beach. Opportunities for snowmobiling, fishing, berry picking, hunting and camping. There is a boat landing point about 1.2 km away.

We stayed 1 week at Kati's and everything was perfect, the accommodation there is nothing to say everything is clean, it's great, there is everything you need. We are 50 minutes from Rovaniemi with a direct and very accessible road. One night we saw the northern lights through the window, it was beautiful. I recommend this listing.

The accommodation is as described, despite "grandma style" everything was very well maintained, tidy and clean, the house offers plenty of space and a lot of toys for children. There are new mattress toppers and new bedding, very warm and good. The kitchen has incredibly good facilities. We enjoyed the bathroom and sauna. We were very satisfied! Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi.

The house makes you feel at home from the first minute. Everything you need is there and there are many activities nearby. The tranquility is indescribable and we could even watch the northern lights with the naked eye. Absolutely recommended as the communication with the hostess and the suggestions for activities are also first class.

The accommodation is a dream and the view from the bed was special. The communication was good, it was a very clean and modern accommodation. The check-in and communication went smoothly. The accommodation is also perfectly located for excursions in Salla. We would book the accommodation again anytime! Unfortunately we have to deduct one point at check-in. When we arrived at the accommodation in the evening, all the heating was off. The flat felt as cold as outside. We first had to deal with the heaters and see how they turned on. It would have been nice to have some basic warmth in the flat and not end up in a freezing cold flat. Therefore, the arrival was unfortunately not relaxed and it took some time for the flat to heat up. This could definitely be improved for future guests. Nevertheless, we had a great stay and can recommend this accommodation.
