The standout feature of this accommodation is its one-of-a-kind ‘egg sauna’. This is a fully DIY sauna, developed entirely by JP from design to production, featuring a unique shape that allows heat to circulate naturally.Enjoy a sauna experience you can’t get anywhere else, while being enveloped by the gentle warmth of the wood-burning stove. Inside the room, there is also a traditional Japanese irori (hearth) typical of old Japanese houses. You can experience traditional Japanese living, such as sharing a hotpot around the irori (traditional hearth) or grilling skewers. *Please bring your own cooking utensils, such as ingredients and skewers. The accommodation is located in a quiet hamlet called ‘Kobo’, nestled among the mountains in Misasaki, Okayama Prefecture. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.
