Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kalamaki Beach

The house is ideally situated within the village. It is cosy with lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax (terrace, yard). Perfect for 6 persons since rooms are both autonomous but have access to the common areas. The atmosphere of house gives a great and authentic picture of traditional cretan living. Manolis is a very generous host. All you nèed for a rich breakfast is offered by the owner. Special thanks to Manolis' mother (Mrs Eleftheria) who treated us with freshly cooked cake and pastries every day!)

Het huisje ligt in een rustig dorpje. Voor de woning kun je parkeren. Vervolgens loop je een trap naar beneden en loop je de tuin in van het huis. Je wordt verwelkomt door een prachtig uitzicht over een heuvel met bomen. De woning zelf is allemaal keurig verzorgt en voelt erg fijn aan! Het is ruim, de sanitaire voorziening zijn prima, de keuken is uitgebreid. We hebben erg genoten en we hadden laagdrempelig contact met de verhuurder om bijvoorbeeld iets te vragen over de omgeving of waar je er boodschappen gedaan kunnen worden. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Charula fut très accueillante ainsi que le personnel . Notre séjour fut de nouveau très très agréable . Nous avons été ravi de ces jours passés à Matala autour de gens très gentils ,très agréables et serviable Nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir chez Giorgios et Charula Merci pour tout

Die Wohnung und die Lage waren unschlagbar gut. Auch der Check-in war super organisiert. Wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen.

Sehr schöne Gegend und abgeschottet. Der Weg zum Haus ist etwas abenteuerlich für deutsche Verhältnisse aber alles in allem sehr schön.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans cette maison joliment rénovée, très propre, spacieuse et confortable ! Très calme. Nous avons apprécié la climatisation au niveau des chambres, en ce mois d’août bien chaud. Les moustiquaires sont également appréciables. La communication avec Nikos est fluide. Nous sommes arrivés très tard à l aéroport. C était pratique de trouver la clé sans déranger personne. La terrasse est superbe. On se gare sans problème dans la rue. There's a reason this place is so highly rated, it's as close to perfect as you're going to get. Beautiful villa that perfectly matches the pictures, extremely friendly and responsive hosts (who even made us a Cretian Easter meal one evening!), amazing scenery all around... I could go on. Any problems at all, Kostas and his lovely family immediately resolved. Kostas also left us a couple of bottles of the vineyards delicious wine and raki to drink and provided plenty of local recommendations and suggestions. If I'm ever in Crete again, this place is my first choice!

We had a wonderful time in the villa. It provided everything we needed and it was really clean. The outdoor area is amazing, having breakfast with that view! There is enough shade and wind to be able to sit outside even on the hottest days. The pool is also great, shaded and private. Bedrooms have airco which was needed. If I would have to give one remark it would be that the bed in the 2person bed was a bit too hard for us. The south coast is really quiet, even in August. But there is a large supermarket in 10 minutes drive and in the village or at the seaside (5min drive) there are amazing restaurants with authentic cooking. I would definitely recommend this house!

das war ein wunderbare Aufenthalt. Das Haus ist traditionelle aus Stein und Holz, innerhalb Bergen und Olivenbäume. Das hat ein Gefühl von Frieden und Naturfreunde gegeben. das war nur ein bisschen lang von Stadt etwas 25min zu erreichen. man braucht unbedingt ein Auto. das haus 100% privat mit einem schönen Pool. Wenn man abend nach Hause vom Ausflüge kommt, dann beruhigt sich in pool innerhalb der Bergen und Olivenbäume ist traumhaft. der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich. 10/10 für mich. ich würde das empfehlen aber nicht lange Aufenthalt.

Dimitris has been a very helpful host suggesting us a lot of activities around Kouses. Zaneta is taking care of the flat and she has been very friendly and present for any request. She also brought us the bread from the church and a traditional soup on Easter. We could understand each other even if we didn't speak any language in common. The terrace of the flat has a wonderful view on the Psiloritis mount and the hills around and it's great time to sit there at sunset. The village is cozy, very friendly people, a great kafenion/taverna. Maria -the owner- adopted us for dinner and we loces her home-made food. We felt at home. Definitely I would reccomend staying at Dimitris' place!

Wir waren insgesamt 16 Tage auf Kreta und haben unseren Urlaub ins Christos und Virginias Wohnung verbracht. Uns fehlte es an nichts. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, genau wie die zur Verfügung gestellten Bettlaken und Handtücher. Von der Wohnung sind traumhafte Strände in kurzer Zeit zu erreichen und auch andere Aktivitäten lassen sich super von dem Appartement aus unternehmen. Zur Begrüßung, stellte uns Virginia frisches Obst, Wein und ein griechisches (selbstgemachtes) Gebäck bereit. Der Check-In war sehr flexibel und Virginia für uns immer erreichbar und bemüht. Da wenig Touristen in dem kleinen Ort waren, fühlte es sich so an, als würde man richtig am Leben der Dorf-Bewohner teilnehmen. Die Nachbarn sind sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden wiederkommen. Das Appartement ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wahou! Un havre de paix, un écrin de verdure. Un séjour dans une petite villa magnifiquement entretenue et rien qu’à nous. Georges nous a réservé un bel accueil chaleureux avec sa maman. Possibilité de stationner notre véhicule dans la propriété fermée. Ne pas être allergique aux chats car ils arrivent en masse de partout . Une adresse à retenir.

Unser Aufenthalt in Myrthios war traumhaft! Die Unterkunft liegt in einer super Lage mit einem tollen Blick über Plakias und die gesamte Bucht – vor allem von der sehr schönen Terrasse aus, die unser Lieblingsplatz zum Entspannen wurde. Das Zimmer war makellos sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich herzlich und gastfreundlich. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die lokalen Spezialitäten, die uns angeboten wurden :) Insgesamt war es ein rundum perfekter Aufenthalt, den wir nur weiterempfehlen können. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

We had a wonderful stay with our two kids at Stavros apartment. The house is very Cosy with a well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom with washing machine, but the best is the great terrace with a stunning view over the area of plakias! There are many nice beaches around which are easy going for children and a lot of good creetan taverns. We recommend a stay in this great location and thank Stavros for his warm welcome and advice during our stay. It is really a one of a kind airbnb! Claudia and family

This cosy villa was the perfect backdrop to a very memorable trip. The balcony offers beautiful views, the village is peaceful and welcoming, and we liked the convenience of being just a 25 minute drive from Heraklion city. We had all the amenities we needed, and everything is as described. Many thanks to our hosts Apo and Despoina for their warmth and hospitality! We had a wonderful stay.

We had a great stay in Matala. The appartement has a beautiful location with an amazing view over the beach, sea and caves of Matala. It was only 1 min walk to the main street, and 20 meters more to the beach. Loads of nice restaurants and bars on walking distance. The big plus for us was the private outdoor shower to shower off sand/sea water, and the big outdoor table with an incredible view. It was also a really short hike up to the top behind the appartment to watch the sunsets (on the way to the red beach). Ieronimoss was really helpfull with check-in and check-out. Recommended!

We had a wonderful time at this stunning villa! The view of the sea is absolutely breathtaking, and the large pool was a true highlight. We especially loved the amazing outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven – perfect for relaxing evenings and cooking outdoor with Kids. Dimitra and her family were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. There are several tavernas with great food within walking distance. We felt completely at ease and would love to come back!

The Villa was in a private and peaceful location with great local Tavernas (a short drive away). It was clean and tidy and with a great pool area. The Welcome Pack we received was greatly appreciated and equally a parting gift too. Local mini mart (not the one by the local Taverna) had everything you would need. We would recommend the Villa to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday. A car is a must to explore.

Virginies house is just stunning and exudes quality in every way epitomised by the fabulous marble lined swimming pool. Everything is finished to a high standard. The location of the house is elevated with fabulous views over the immaculate grounds, surrounding olive groves and sea views. The shaded veranda was the perfect place to sit, read, enjoy a drink and of course the amazing view. As the house is quite remote my only advice would be getting there for the first time in the light as navigating there in the dark was a bit of a challenge. Plakias is known to be windy, and this was the case for our visit making it impossible to use the pool umbrellas. That said the wind was appreciated by us all helping us to keep cool in the August sun. The local beaches were beautiful with crystal clear warm water and stunning surrounds perfect for swimming and snorkelling. We also enjoyed a fabulous day sailing from Skafia so were also able to visit a number of other coves and caves inaccessible by car. Virginie couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a brief interruption to the water supply but she was proactive in reaching a solution quickly and kept us well informed throughout. She also provided comprehensive recommendations for local beaches and restaurants which we referred to regularly during our stay. Overall we felt very lucky to have stayed for a week in Virginies gorgeous home and very much hope to visit again in the future.

Séjour inoubliable … accès facile , à 15 min des plages (sans foule), logement avec une vue magnifique sur la mer, très bien équipé , grandes chambres , une piscine parfaite pour nos 2 jeunes ados , un petit supermarché à 3min en voiture très bien fourni , et surtout des hôtes si accueillants , disponibles , ouverts , chaleureux , qui nous ont permis de découvrir leur magnifique région. Plus qu’un logement c’est une expérience que je recommande absolument .

Yerini and Yanas are wonderful hosts. They make you feel at home. Yerini’s kitchen is local and tasteful. The location is beautiful and quiet. We loved the architecture and the room was cozy and comfortable We just loved everything about the place.

superbe villa très propre piscine très agréable Emmanuel et Yannis sont réactif aux messages pour gérer les locations de Dimitra la propriétaire des lieux qui était sur place très gentille a l écoute et super réactive des que nous avions une demande (épingle a linge , problème de réseau ect...) elle a su aussitôt nous dépanner . Les villas sont dans un coin où il faut obligatoirement une voiture on ne peu rien faire a pied et c'est un peu compliqué a trouver mais ça vaut le coup d y aller la vue est magnifique nous avons passés de superbes vacances en crête avec nos 3 enfants . Merci

This is a lovely villa with amazing views over the hills. Whilst there is a villa next door, the grounds are very private and you aren't really aware it is there. It was lovely to have the great sized pool to come back to after a day of sightseeing. The BBQ was an added bonus. There is a large balcony at the rear of the villa which has stunning views and is a great place to eat and watch the sun set. There are 3 good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms.
